I going with the “they want to make it seem like they are giving WvW attention” argument, this way they can say they did 2 updates.

FC are good folks, your probably going to hit zergs regardless of your decision. With FC you will probably be facing less zergy servers though due to their ranking. Its not a case of them being bad but lower ranks have less zergs.

You can probably find fights on just about any server just remember the higher tier you go, the more coverage they have, the chances of hitting zergs increases.

While this is true, in most cases a PvE build vs a WvW build are miles apart. Those PvE folks wearing their neeto zerker gear will most likely on several occasions find out extremely fast what little to no defensive stats does when facing other players that are actually geared to fight other players. Like an above poster said “inb4 21k back stab, nerf thieves”.

It doesn’t mean PvE folks don’t know what they are doing, it does however mean that they are under geared for the occasion.

Yeah, because it’s impossible that somebody might have two sets of gear … or even two different characters!!

Wow a little hostile ? if they have the gear they will be fine, if they have a secondary character geared for WvW they will be fine. The many that do not … will not be fine. Does that clear it up for you or are you just one of those people who are angry in general ?

Really doesn’t matter to me, they will either give me bags or good fights, I’m happy with either situation.

Matches would have to be better selected, rewards would have to be worth while not something we could get from 5 minutes of PvE. Also it would be nice if Devon was left in the dark, his ego got in the way of listening to the players and having a better expeirence all around.

Both, PPT is meaning less imo but that doesn’t mean we ignore everything except the fights. We take towers and keeps, we also defend them but I think its safe to say that we rarely actually look at the PPT. In the end its whatever people enjoy doing, I don`t think theres a player out there that can say, Taking that undefended keep was such a rush, we should avoid the enemy and do this more (quotations not working). I thnk most people will agree that the fights are the most enjoyable part of the game so long as they are relatively even, a zerg killing a solo …. not so much.

I would just like to point this out

Tank – Guardian, Warrior
Support – Gaurdian, Elementalist
DPS – Warrior, Necro, Elementalist

Excellent job they have done avoiding the trinity. To further compound the issue, have managed to make 4 classes sub par in every way when compared to the other 4.

Before you argue how the other classes have uses and can be used instead of one of the GWEN take a moment and reflect on why its those 4 classes.

Please … FC is the king of bag dispensing, although I will say you are getting much better at running away to avoid feeding smaller numbers. Always enjoy my vendor trips after a fight with the Fergzerg, you guys are all right in my books.

Really I honestly don’t know HOW MANY times they have to do things like this before you guys realize this is the norm. Its not like this is the first situation where the community is ignored and they do the complete opposite.

I do feel sorry for the people that spent all their Laurels on Zerker gear, thats alot of time spent just throw into the pile of things to be ignored along with, WvW population balancing, Transfer costs, Commander Tags, and so many other glaring issues they just refuse to address.

Likes:
1) Open Field Fights
2) Ability to level in WvW (being uplevel’d is a good concept but it has flaws)
3) Every Role Contributes.

Dislikes:
1) False hope from Dev’s (The CDI threads that seem to have been absolutely pointless)
2) Mindless Zerging is favored in every possible way
3) Always passed over for more PvE or SPvP updates
4) Bugs/Exploits that have been in the game from Day 1
5) Perma Stealth, lets be realistic … no one enjoys fighting an enemy that is invisible for 90% of the fight
6) Did I point out no worthwhile updates when compared to PvE ?
7) PvE in WvW, if we want to PvE you have several zones for us to do it in, stop adding it to WvW.
8) WvW Dev Ego’s, get over yourselves and listen to the community, its not a bad idea just because its not yours.
9) If your going to allow uplevels than increase the stats so they are more than rally bait.
10) Did I mention lack of updates ?

I enjoy the game, but like many others I can see the bigger picture and realize that WvW has the potential to be amazing if Anet stops putting up road blocks and actually puts some time and effort into it. By this I don’t mean opening yet another CDI thread that will get our hopes up only to be thrown in the trash a week later.

Currently Rank means nothing, there are people with multiple accounts, also Commanders that decided to reroll another class and without account bound WXP they are low Rank even if their original Comm is high ranked. So I don’t agree with the grey tag theory.

The other siuggestions are great though.

This was talked about in the first CD thread, many great ideas were given, Devon acted as if he cared, then promtly threw the ideas in the garbage. Same can be said for the Commander changes. The server population is so far from the truth its not even funny, you would have to be blind to think that the bottom servers have the same population os the higher servers in and out of WvW. Probably shouldn’t bring up the fact that it also has nothing to do with WvW population further hurting the lower ranked servers that could use the lighter transfer costs.

No, 3 teams is a better system, always has been, always will be. What happens when your in a lopsided matchup against only 1 other server ? You get beat down for 7 days straight with no hope of getting out of the spawn because they have no one else to focus on.

No thanks, I play this game because of the tri battle setup, I could go play any number of other games if I wanted a two way battle.

When did people start taking pixels so seriously, I’ll break it down for those QQing so you can try and get a good night sleep.

This is a game, if you lose a tower your life will not end.
Gold is a fictional currency, if you spend it upgrading and the tower is lost your bank account is not affected.
The PPT is a fictional scoreboard, it does not mean your winning real life.
If you lose all your towers/keeps/camps over night it will give you something to do tomorrow.

Get over it, enjoy the time you are in game playing, let other enjoy the time they are in game playing. I’m not Euro/Oceanx but its shocking how narrow minded/ignorant many NA ’s in this thread are. Its hard to grasp for many but …. the world does not revolve around you.

Op says this would go a long way to reduce zerging/blobbing, I think it would do the exact opposite, now the blobs can form a meat wall and the smaller groups that would normally break through their lines are fubar. The only time this would work against a zerg is in choke points and even then they would just keep widdling down your front line until no one was left because they have superior numbers.

Collision Detection is a nightmare, I’m assuming the majority of people that keep suggesting this have never expierenced just how bad it makes gameplay. Collision Detection would amplify lag alot, I for one would hate to see this implemented.

Probably not, because WvW is broken and Anet likes that it’s broken (because they think it’s alright coverage > win).

Or the people requesting this have no idea the issue it causes, not to mention the increased lag. Collision detection has been done and it was a nightmare for several reasons.

For Zerg fights I would say, Warrior, Guardian, Elementalist, Necro. Those four classes are the “Zerg” classes, now keep in mind that the other classes are also capable of eunning in zergs for instance both Mesmer and Engineer are more than capable of zerg play as is Thief and Ranger. If your really enjoying your ranger than stick with it, your probably better off getting some tanky gear so you dont melt. Make sure you have Entangle and Healing spring equipped, and I would recommend Signet of the Wild, and Signet of Stone those are arguably your most zerg friendly Utilities. Personally I would run Long Bow/Greatsword, LongBow has a decent AoE, a Knockback, Stealth and Greatsword for when you want to try and follow the melee train GS#1 hits multiple people.

Just my 2 cents, play what you enjoy. Yes there are better classes for zerg fights, but that doesn’t mean Rangers are completely useless and who knows maybe one day Rangers will receive that much needed and anticipated patch that makes them more useful to large groups.

Your only focus is on the warrior. Lets add DR to CC only because of warrior and really because of 1 weapon. Hammer isn’t even a problem and merciless hammer promotes that you chain CC with the trait.

If you have a a problem with the CC in guild wars 2 its because your in a outnumbered situation alot. You do have to pick your battles. Immobilize is much worse if you don’t have the condi clears.

My only focus is on Warrior in this thread because the title is directed at Warriors, I’m all for DR on all forms of CC. I can count on one hand how many times I’ve been caught off guard and hit with a stacking CC, I still don’t believe there is a need for CC of any form to have extended duration’s.

You can blind, block, dodge, evade, counter-CC, use stability, avoid with leaps/teleports.

You’re right, you’re utterly defenceless.

Of course they can use several other option to avoid the CC, that still doesn’t justify a stacking CC. WTF are players always so eager to make MMO’s ez mode, so you can’t stun someone for long durations … try using any of your other abilities you have available. There is never a good reason for stacking CC, if you can’t win without it then its a player issue not a game issue. Its not like all of a sudden your team can’t stack immob and theirs can.

I don’t know which targeting option you have mapped to ‘tab’ but I’m fairly certain that none of them ever target ambient creatures.

This, I’ll agree that their targeting system is wonky at best but I’ve ever had it target bunnies. I wouldn’t complain though, they still haven’t figure out how to make a properly functioning Queue system, why would you be surprised that the targeting doesn’t work as it should.

I completely Disagree Krall, I to play a Warrior and there is NEVER a need for CC to last longer than a second or two, as I said above it should be used tactically to gain and edge in battle, it should not determine the battle. I know its a hard concept but players would actually have to think about when and where to use the CC rather than just smashing their faces on keyboards. Lets stop trying to water down MMO’s and bring some skill back to gaming.

Here’s a novel idea that pretty much every MMO in existence has managed to figure out, hows about Diminishing returns and we could go a step further and make it so stuns stop stacking. CC should be used Tactically and shouldn’t have long durations, they should be used more like a hiccup to gain an brief advantage to help turn the tide of battle. Theres no need to remove the stun factor from Warriors, but the stacking part of it has gotta go, its not like Warrior will suddenly become useless and players will stop WvWing.

I know, common sense, who woulda thunk it.

Lets just chalk it all up to there is to many Gap closers/extenders to begin with. Thieves should be hitting back lines fast and hard not center of a group and easily running away. Warriors should be able to catch a player that is in combat, but they shouldn’t be able to shrug off a group and run. Anet was moving in the right direction when they nerfed Ele’s movement, the unfortunate part is they only nerfed Ele’s when there is clearly more than one class that needs to have more risk involved which translates to not being able to escape situation you should not escape from, this goes for ALL classes.

Thats a heavt class compared to a lower armour class. How can you even compare that. The fact is that warriors should not get away so kitten easy. It fails every logic.

One has the capability of remaining invisible for 90% or the time which easily trumps armor, and speaking of logic … are you serious ? Your going to try to make a logic argument in a game where people throw fireballs, set themselves on fire with no damage, stand ontop of bombs and take no damge in fact sometimes they heal, throw grenades and take no damage even if throwing ontop of yourself, can vanish repeatedly, I think that kind of blows the whole logic theory out of the water.

So, warriors escaping while full visible with passive regen, high armor/health, stability and invulnerability, condi clear = OK

Thieves escaping with permastealth nerf, low armor/health, they can be damaged and cced while in stealth (i know, it’s hard to understand but it’s true) = not ok becouse they are thieves and they are OP period QQ

This has been discussed to no end, it was brought up in the CD population thread and the Dev’s acknowledged it. As I said before that thread was just a way to make us think they were listening. They don’t even have to use WvW population, base it off ranking than theres very little work involved as they only have to monitor rank.

The real issues is not the Heavies and what they can do, its the non Heavies and what they can not do. Lets face it there are classes in GW2 that have some utility but not enough to make us choose them over a Heavy. Anet wanted to avoid the Holy Trinity, while they were doing this they created their own.

Warrior: Frontliner, Takes a beating and keeps going (needed)
Guardian: Frontliner/Support, Can fill multiple roles and provides Boons (needed)
Elementalist: Suppost/DPS, Need a field to blast ? Yip they got it. (needed)
Necro: DPS/AoE, Wells, don’t really need to say any more (needed)
Mesmer: Dps/Veil kitten, they give us Veils (can live without)
Engineer: DPS/AoE/Support, anything they can do an Ele can do better (not needed)
Thief: Dps, um ya go scout please (not needed)
Ranger: ????, wtf is a ranger ? oh ya they have that root thingy (not needed)

The last 4 classes are trumped in everyway (large scale) by the top 4, Anet needs to make the bottom 4 more appealing. Until this happens then yes, Heavies will dominate because why the kitten would you take anything else and have less survivability and less utility ?

They can “Marry” one Eu server with one NA server and players inside these two servers can choose to play in their home server or to the other server . this can used special in wwww season 2 period where the pve players want to accomplish the achievements and ALL servers suffering from queues in primetime
  2. If the “marriage” in wwww season 2 period is between one “strong” web server and one “weak” www server i think nobody will sufferring from big queues in primetime , because the strong server population will fill the empty and weak servers.maybe someone says : "why i should go to play to other server " , the answer is : because in wwww season 2 the result will calculated from both servers
  3. and now the big boring home borderlands . one option is the redesign the maps but i think is not very easy for devs. so they must find one option that help “weak” servers in south scouting (the alarm from outnumbered buff is broken . first you loose the T3 garrison and then you have report from outnumbered buff ) to have more time waypoint in their garrison ( the waypoint eliminate the boring map feeling ).the solution is two options a) when someone capture the garrison he will have waypoint (enemy or ally) and b) garrison will have immune if the two towers left and right captured by the server that have garrison.

Your missing one very important key element to your solution.

EU has 3 more servers than NA. That and the language barriers would be frustrating for both sides if you happen to get paired with one of the servers dedicated to a language that is not english.

Of course its not about you guys tanking t2 and blobbing non t2 servers. Its all about you guys not getting the things “you” want. Every other server doesn’t matter cept for the one you’re in.

I’m sure SOS and MAG are super pumped about your awful blobs as well, but if you want to just say that ONLY FA doesn’t like it, then please continue.

FA/SOS/MAG would be 100x better for roaming than what you guys field. Guaranteed.

Please don’t try and bring SoS or Mag into your QQ, both servers are willing to man up and fight superior numbers. Its what good players do.
