Madness Rises [Rise] – Banners Hold.
Don’t argue with idiots, they pull you down their level and own you with experience.
Although the first word in the original post was “seriously” I still took this as more of a joke, but if some of you really need to make sense of it, then here – it is called “burning” damage, not “on-fire” damage.
Let’s try (not really) an experiment. Go to your kitchen. Turn on your range to “high” until it starts glowing red. Now, firmly apply your hand to said range. Was your hand ever on fire? Is it still “burning” and taking “burning damage”?
Now stick your hand in a glass of water. Is it still taking damage from having been burned?
I can’t believe I actually just explained that.
You could also simply say: Its a fantasy game, ever used a waypoint in real life. ;p
Steel burns under water.
Explain the lighter “armor” classes burning underwater then. Seeing as lighter armor is clearly fabric as opposed to metal.
Hmm maybe zip on the pants.
This issue caused me clicking away chatchannels on accident. Lucky we can lock them now so that wont happen…oh wait a minute.
Would be nice to tone it even more down. Or give people the ability to turn it off as in big fights you see nothing but particle and light effects.
Yea, also the shark u get from the spear Dart (#3) can get stuck on you forever. I also seen it happen on other classes like eternal flame breathing on eles lol.
This is a global issue that I responded to in another thread. We are working on pinning this down and fixing it. Thanks!
^ 6 months and counting, what are you guys doing at the office. Some of my friends are programmers so please feel free to contact me so they can tell ya how to fix that stuff in no time. No thanks needed!
Steel burns under water.
The bug might be bugged rather then being fixed lol.
It’s not really a hack, if you place an ac at certain points you can throw the ground targetting over the gate’s gap and kill all siege, also people with multiple monitors are able to even shoot further into the inner section. Why this is allowed by Anet, have no idea.
How can you know if theyre invisible and dont leave a name? Simple – You get damage from out of nowhere and when u look at your combat log you will see “unknown hits you for xx”. And if people are attacking your home you simply call the police to investigate, something GW2 is lacking but appearantly you seem to know even more then the staff, maybe time for you to make an apply on a job there?
Yes, I know how you can know it happens.
That was not what I questioned though. What I questioned was how can you know WHO is doing it?
Why assume that all Unknown are the exact same player every time? Where is the proof that that would be the case?
You cant know who is doing it, hence they use a hack to be invisible and their name showing up in the combat log as unknown. And most people assume its the same people doing it since it comes from the same server and same classes every time. You dont need to be a rocket scientist to understand that. If there was such a thing as “report hack” option or an ingame moderator/gamemaster to monitor such behaviour it would be the best for all of us, but there is not so we need to cope with this crap.
Sooo….You want to make it a simple stroll to get map completion? The whole point is to say “I have done everything”, but by doing this, you have not, if thats the case you might as well just ask for map completion be removed from WvW, as a matter of fact, just make it so when you make a new character, once you log in you get instant map completion.
I find it funny PvE players have trouble with the ever so small set of WvW maps, but any of us WvW players who wanted completion or a legendary, had to clear ALL of the PvE content, and have to farm the hell out of PvE to be able to get the needed items for making one. But that’s the point of this, if you cant be bothered to learn all of the game and get good at it (which is not hard), then you don’t deserve map completion or a legendary, simple as that.
Amen. you want something done, you go work for it.
You can just switch a gear peice while dead to reset the afk timer.
That’s your argument? Seriously? Vayne’s back, you gotta work harder than that.
Well, how CAN you know if they are invisible and doesn’t leave a name then?
If someone keeps attacking my house but I never see them attacking, how can I know that it is always the same person?

Just because we dont see them surely means they dont exist. Otherwise something been done already, some of these people have been reported for half a year without being penalized but i am not sure if this ever will get through to you. Most likely not.
But unless these people are basically reporting themselves how can they know that they have not been penalized?
Isn’t one of the main issues with the hack that they are invisible? Wouldn’t that suggest that no matter how many of them ArenaNet bans it will still appear that they do nothing?
Because this kind of behaviour is going on since launch dude and still going on and on and on and on. But its really no point trying to make you see that as you will come to every single post and defend anet on anything. All you achiev is nothing but kittening things more up with your white knighting.
To be fair how do you know that there aren’t in-game moderators?
Just because you don’t see them doesn’t mean they don’t exist. The main thing is that they can’t be at all places at all times. Simply report and hope that they manage to get the cheater before he stops.

This might sound negative, but nothing happened and nothing will happen. Other games have ingame moderators and even a hack report function, gw2 does not have it.
Bet this post will get deleted saying its not allowed to accuse people using hacks/cheats and asking you to send a report to their mail, which will end up in the trashbin.
To this day i am still guessing why the instance gets closed instantly after the “owner” leaves/DC/getting kicked by griefers whatso ever, whats the philosophy behind that?
I have only seen this happen on quartermaster npcs to order an upgrade, it simply closes window after i talked to them. Also a couple of friends had this issue with crafting stations and unsure whats causing it. Usually its ok after 1-2 more tries.
Rank 1081 and so far 5-6 ascended boxes and couple of rings – Also quite few exotics and rares etc. Still aiming on a precursor.
Edit: Would be nice if we could choose our own stats on it, yes looking at you fractal ascended box!
What happend with the older CDI’s ? havent seen much of it so why bother to ask for another one?
No cant reset them yourself. It has been resetted a couple of times now, think with tourneys and perhaps when new line came out, but i kind of forgotten the reasons of points reset.
The supply master trait line is a very good one to start with, chuck 10 points into it so you can grab supps faster, gain swiftness with it and have a chance to get supplies back on spending them ( not to mistaken with the supply capacity trait line tho).
Mercenaries are the dredge hyleks and orgres at eternal battleground. But also the banker and repair vendor in keeps. I would not bother to spent points in here but thats just personal.
Last time a dev replied on this matter was about 6-7months ago saying theyre trying to pin it down and solve..6-7months and nothing has been done.
Oh yea thats so much relief, didnt know that thanks!
Bind mousewheel to left click. Then spin away!
Not everyone uses a mouse with a wheel.
It’s indeed a nice trick that players have found to get rid of excessive clicking. Though it should be in the game engine as its not 1984 – but 2014. Hopefully 1998 will call Anet one day to tell them what convenience and quality of life means.
I honestly don’t understand why Anet doesn’t allow us to buy items in stacks or have a, “Use All,” option for stacks of items.
Funny side effect, try to right click a stack of crap and use “destroy” – the whole stack will vanish in one click! Why this is not possible to the "use"function is beyond me, or is anet trying to deliver RSI and whatnot to their customers?
Every 10min or so, im a careless player that charges into groups even solo, just because im not afraid to die or lose my stacks as lots of other people do. They may think they die IRL or something or find it a disgrace an ally see their body and think “omg thats another dent in my ego”
edit: im on 5329 deaths atm and still counting, a small percentage is due to a dc or lagspike, but im very sure the majority of the deaths are completely due to myself!
Guards have a 3minute respawn timer, i have flipped 4356 camps by now and never noticed them respawning faster then that. Only those yaks Jim Hunter mentioned (screwed my cap over a couple of times contesting it and defenders run in to save it in time lol)
Is lordkrall on a mission to post on every single thread that says something negative about GW2?
He is, however i have to agree with his points here, MMO’s usually are “dying” in summers as people spend time outside and on holidays. Does not apply to all world parts but at least thats what happens on EU servers in my opinion. Playing MMO’s for lots of years now and its usually the same, no matter if it gw2, or not.
It is rather unfair to compare your local seasonal/weather patterns to the rest of the globe.
Many countries have their holiday seasons different to that of the EU and NA,
I am fully aware of that. But overall more people tend to play during the US/EU winter than during the US/EU summer.
I haven’t seen any proof of this posted by ANET, they are very tight lipped on player numbers and their playing times. If you have seen any numbers posted please share them,
It’s a thing that happens to more MMO’s. People tend to play games more when the weather sucks ( think autumns and winters ) As of now its summer so people going to the beach or on holidays.
But then, we get to know how to report an untargetable enemy, what would u report it for, botting scamming or verbal abuse? or the other hmm goldselling?
This is a great idea but if changing the color of commander tags takes a year, I can’t think of anything simpler they can do in less time.
Heard the trained monkey just found his crayons and is working on it – done in 2051.
Yea, also atomic bombs from golems would be nice to completely blast a keep to kitten in one shot. On a serious note, omega golems already ( too ) powerful to even think about a mastery for them.
You can always have a mastery for golems that doesn’t boost damage output, but instead focusses on buffing the less used golem skills (pull, whirlwind attacks, shield), and the top tier perk being something like 10% passive movement speed increase.
Look at the rest of siege masteries, nothing but boosting the dmg output. Golems are fine as they are and dont need masteries. If it was up to me i would delete them already from this game. But thats just me.
Uh oh , did my sarcy comment in the Champion Golem topic lead to this? if so WHAT HAVE I DONE!!! lol
From my personal point of view i really love to play on Gunnars Hold as we have quite some roamers around, however there will be tons of guild groups running around at prime time but thats “normal” on silver league servers i guess.
I am still one of those carebears around to throw upgrades around and siege stuff. I dont do anything else with my mats then building superior siege with it and all the money i get in WvW, stays in WvW.
Craft Superior siege in bulks. Theres already a system live to do that through craft stations but not sure how long it would take but hell, would provide CONVENIENCE to this game and less FRUSTRATIONS – Poor mouse. Poor fingers.

Quaggan killer since 2012.
A level 1 toon that actually participate in wvw like siege building and reporting enemy zergs positions are way better for wvw then 80s showing off their ascended gears and whatnot. Some 80s are way more terrible then uplevels.
Just my 2 cents on this matter.
I have wierd lag spikes since the patch. Game totally freezes up and it may take several minutes before its gone and when that happens everything around me start moving crazily fast, as if its all catching up.
So.. what is the issue?
The talked about it, and overall they have worked towards that.If you want to start a discussion (which I doubt you want, you just want to hate a bit) it would be a good to actually start a discussion in the first post, rather than just posting a link.
The link is after all fully available to everyone, even without this thread posting it.
The issue is that the post is over a year old and harldy anything happened to WvW.
Dont say EOTM – its nothing but a pve karma/wxp train and is such a waste of resource which has been better used to improve and fix the current maps. But yeah you always come to topics to tell all people theyre wrong and why Anet cant do this or that about it.
I play with a xbox controller. I can set it up so when I press the A button, it left clicks 20 times a second then set it back when I’m done.
Made it really easy to buy 2 million karma worth of Obsidian Shards. If we had the option to right click then select “Buy in Bulk” for select items, this wouldn’t be an issue.
As for consuming Essence of Luck, we need to be able to craft better Essence in ALL crafting professions, not just artificer.
Yea thats a way players have to find around to get rid of massive clicking , in my honest opinion, a game anno 2014 should provide such convenience.
Clickwars 2 – RSI involved – Provided by Arenanet. – stupid enough we can right click and destroy stuff in bulks, lol
Its sad indeed, I love WvW and really its the only reason I still play GW2, I find it surprising that such a big game mode with so many players playing it is kept in the quiet like this.
Amen.
Lake tower and Briar are usual the easiest to cap towers as you can start siege razer to help, can start it nowadays with just 5 people.
Uh rewarding people for not transferring is basically rewarding people for not buying gems.
I’ll give you some time to figure out why anet doesn’t like that to happen
lol +1
+1, although there are countless of threads regarding this issue already. But it has my vote!
**Note to OP: Insulting the very people you are asking something for is bad form (in reference to your poke at the LS villians). You want them to take you seriously, right? I want them to.
Because I agree with you.
I think bannering is a ridiculously broken mechanic. On Devona’s Rest, we work hard over the US overnight hours, we do work, and get results, but due to our low numbers, we sometimes are faced with this same issue. We enter a keep, fight minor resistance, drop the lord, then a Warrior or two come along, banners the thing, we have to fight it again, plus the opposition that has now arrived in the time we would have captured it, and more often than not, the enemy zerg gets just enough time to show up and wipe us out of existence. I can’t, through all of my efforts to understand this, see how this is not broken and imbalanced.
Hopefully we see a fix for this. Of all the issues WvW has, I think this is one that truly needs to be addressed in the near future.
Try and drag lord to a corner and stand on it and try and fend off anyone who comes to close. I have no problem at all with chain hardressing a boss with banners or signets. It makes the fight lasts longer then 1 min. If you cant keep em away from the lords to banner it, you simply dont deserve the cap and its a win for the defenders.
Put stealth traps down and see them run off like little girls. And get some rangers to stack sic em on them, great fun altogether.
- Blobbing out of control ruining fights, making wvw a numbers game, and causing massive lag for many players.
- Constant Transfers causing server instability ruining guilds and driving away players.
- Overuse of siege.
- Same old Maps, 3 borderlands and they are all identical…really?
- PPT/Coverage issues cause much distress for servers often causing a need to stack a server, and leading to constant friction and arguements between the ppt vs open field fight crowds, eventually the guilds for hire leave, the server dies, everyones angry and upset, people leave the game.
- Overabuse of stealth, cannot go anywhere w/o running into some troll thief or mesmer.
- Everyone running the same builds, hammer train, condi meta, stealth spam, etc etc.
- Same matchups over and over, same colors make it difficult for people to get their world completion and I am so tired of hearing people compain about it.
- Eotm is not WvW, its a kitten karma/champ farm.
- Seasons are not a content update for WvW, its a wrecking ball for wvw.Anet change your formula, you already drove tons of players away with the megaserver garbage, stagnant wvw will not keep players in the game, especially for those that only do wvw. I am a pvx player and I have little interest or reason to login aside from checking in on my guild.
Get your act together, guild wars 1 is over nine years old, and anet is made of former blizzard employees, there is no excuse for your constant amateuish mistakes.
^this, just this. The only reason anet comes with season is to squeeze some money out of the players since its the gap between LS season crap.
