I personally if run with a pug group always check the guild tags, if I see 2 or 3 of the same guild I tend to leave, if its a full guild team bar me and I don’t know them ill leave ahead of time,

I personally have never been kicked from a party, I did have a friend who ran threw a high level FotM only to get booted at the maw,

If however in the even I had to run with a guild group, I always mouse over there names in the party window and screen shot it, so I know there name/guild, as I personally feel this is an exploit when they kick you so they can invite a buddy.

@abomally, When someone posts a crash log from the out or memory crash, it shows that when the client requests more than 3.2gb ram it crashes,

@Espionage, grats, but that doesn’t really help the hundreds and hundreds of players that are getting the out or memory crash, sure it could be everyones hardware given the 100’s of different setups you could always say that, but as the crash logs all point to a memory error, its more likely its a problem in the client,

Since turning down the settings a little, I have not gotten the out of memory error myself, but the fact that my system is way above and beyond the specs needed for this game, I shouldn’t have had to do it.

Fact is, if it was hardware related, anet would have replied to one of the many hundreds of topics on this stating that, the fact they have avoided everyone tells you that its something else.

This is not news, they said along time ago they where not planning an expansion.

I played GW1 for 7 years, the game is completely different, from open world PvE to closed non existent sPvP, WvW was ok until they destroyed it, if PvP isn’t your thing , then the open world PvE is massive,

End game doesn’t exist in this game at the moment, the lvl 80 zones are all dead, bar the small groups you will find running around 1 level 80 zone champion farming, the world bosses have all recently been altered, again it depends what you expect from the game,

If you play other games, and you have already bought it, then sure play it for like an hour a day, ( this what anet wants, casual players who only play an hour or 2 a day ) if you plan on making this your primary game, I strongly suggest you find another game to play aswell, as I don’t feel with all the changes in this game, its anything like they claimed it to be.

Guild Wars 2 is a game for causal players, its not an MMO game for people that want to grind, as the drops are non existent….

The above was on the 3rd line of the crash log, others on this forums and other GW2 related forums seem to have also had this same crash, from reading them they seem to think its a DirectX issue, you could try re-installed directx and see if that helps,

Its possible that it could be a MB issue, but id start with software drivers etc before looking down the road of hardware issues, try update your GFX drivers, and try reinstall DirectX and see if this helps at all.

Has DB not lost some of there WvW guilds recently, I have a friend on DB, and I know there entire WvW guild has left DB, and trust me, 1 guild with 150+ WvW’rs will make a massive difference to your server.

He doesn’t need to post it on the launcher WvW is the minority remember its not important, as it doesn’t affect PvE or LS.

The blobs as you call it, will never go away, the have existed since GW1 in alliance battles, its just natural that its safer to run in numbers,

Now in the top tiers which most of the hate seems to stem towards, I know 2 big WvW guilds on my server that loved to GvG, if ANET just introduced a proper GvG into the game, there would be a lower pop on the servers as the big guilds that do GvG would move out of WvW and do it,

Until this happens, it will not stop, you cannot stop it, anet cannot stop it, if they do anything in the game that hurts players for banding together as a team people will leave,

Imagine they put some sort of function in that hurt players if they banded together, lets say it was a -20% armor or healing, or hell, lets say damage, if there are more than 15 players, so you break off as a 10 man team, and your trying to take a tower, the enemy seems this, quickly gather 30 people run in and slaughter the 10 man team and then break up again………

People are to stuck on the what needs to be done to stop it, rather than what will happen when it does.

I get this same problem on SoR NA server, my friends all get it too, and they are from all over the world, this is not a local problem, I did report this ingame about a month ago.

Just so you don’t go mad trying to fix this, this error has plagued the game since launch, just search these forums for out of memory error, it seems to be a restriction on the 32bit client, and possible memory leak issues, and when it hits that magical 3.2gb ram number it will crash the game,

Others have noticed this by having the task manager active while in game and watching the game request more and more ram such as a memory leak would do, it also appears it will happen the more intense the GFX get, I used to get it when changing zones etc,

Sorry this is not a fix, because there doesn’t seem to be one, the game client needs massive massive optimisation and that can only come from Anet, and so far they have ignored every single post on the tech forums to do with this error,

The only thing that seems to stem it ( not stop it completely ) is to slightly turn down your GFX settings, which I know is frustrating as hell, given you have a system way more powerful than needed to run this game.

Is the mouse wireless, I know of a few people who have lag delays with wireless mice.

Yup, and if it reaches past the 3.2gb it will crash out even on a 64bit OS, most people will see this as the out or memory error that has plagued the game since launch, still no fix in place for it.

If you log into your account via the gw2 website, there should be an option in there that shows you the IP’s that have connected to the game via your login info, you can tell it to forget all networks, then when you login next time it should prompt you to enter the authenticater code to enter the game, in there you should also have the ability to link the google auth to your account.

What are your expectations from the laptop for the game, what do you game with at the minute, if its a desktop, then you will not see the same performance, ive yet to see a laptop match a desktop in gaming,

Personally id be getting a laptop that is for uni first then look at gaming, ive found that with laptops for gaming they are worlds apart from what someone would use for normal uni life,

What is your budget, im sure there are plenty of people on this forum that game on a laptop.

I don’t think all this abuse/hate towards the dev came from the fact that he put his tag on, hoping that showing hes a dev would deter people, from the video the devs serious lack of understanding about the game mode was funny, sure the people in the video that where swearing etc, throwing the abuse about prob should get punished,

I think the frustration from people is more around the fact that they are being ignored week in week out, GvG in GW1 was popular, yet it was completely left out in GW2, people have been asking for a year for it to be put into the game its clear there is a want for it, its like

The list goes on, basically like Devon said, we are the minority around here and we will not be listened too, I guess that apology from the dev in this topic was not aware of what Devon said previously, in a nutshell, you will either have to adapt to what the WvW devs want WvW to be, or leave and play another game, I personally, reinstalled GW1 last night, and I was shocked at how many people where online, also picked up FF14,

You have a choice, move on to another game, because apparently WvW is more popular than ever and we are all wrong, or you can hang around and hope that 1 day in the next 3 years, you might see what you want in WvW, but in the short term, its not going to change for the better.

No what happened was, anet said we are going to introduce leagues to the game, and the server you start on is the server you get rewards for etc, they announced is so far in advance that the servers that had a small-medium pop went, oh hell no im not getting no rewards because no one else plays WvW, so they all moved to the higher playerbase servers.

They then decided to introduce 5 sPvP zones into WvW, even though there has been numerous threads asking for it to be changed they all go unnoticed, thus adding to the masses that are leaving, its been said time and time again, that as soon as another MMO/big game came out this game would suffer, well in the last 3 weeks, we’ve had GTA V for the console games, and FF14 for the PC gamers, both are massive games, nearly all of my friends have bailed on gw2 now, most of them where WvW players.

You said in another thread that you run the game from an external HDD, could the cable be a source of your problems maybe, im guessing its connecting via USB….

That’s why I said, that it was superior but did have some issues,

But overall GW1 was a better game than GW2,

GW2 has no sPvP, and what little sPvP you have in there everyone is running the same build, because its nearly impossible for them to balance it in such a way, if you change your build up at all, WHAM you getting the beat down in 5 seconds, I think this is why they dropped 5 sPvP zones into WvW.

Fact is, they took the best parts of GW1 and well left them in GW1, if I had known that GW2 would have turned out the way it did, I don’t think I would have bought it, I invited several friends via the free weekends, and none of them had any interest after it, the fan boys who love the game for what it is will never agree, they will always find something to argue with, and hey, if they love the game its all good, but the only thing that is keeping this game alive is the fact they have that entire Asian market to get into yet, without it I think this game would have had the plug pulled already,

If you are a fanboy who loves the game and loves being told how to play it, im glad you enjoy the game for what it is, for everyone else, see ya in the next big game

Like Vayne said, GW1 was a superior game, I personally feel it was a better game than GW2, it did have its issues sure, but overall it was a far far more enjoyable game, hell it kept me and my friends playing it for 7 years, the same friends who have all abandoned GW2 for other games now because of lack of content, game breaking bugs, and basically being told how to play, and this week the rest of us will move over to FF14 to join our friends,

If GW1 and GW2 where both released at the same time, same GFX etc, GW1 would destroy GW2.

I wouldn’t have believed a dev would have said the WvW forums users are the minority had I not seen that 1 screen shot of him saying it lol ( fail ) the TS server I use for WvW regularly has over 200-300 people on it, and ive heard NO ONE say a good thing about the new stat, for the most part we try to ignore the centre of the map now,

Sad fact is there is no money to be made in WvW for them, they are trying to push the sPvP real life comps that have $$$ rewards linked to them, this to me is why they totally dropped 5 sPvP zones in the middle of each boarderland map, it seems they have reverted back to how they ended with GW1, we are right you are wrong, don’t like it move along, I guess this is why most of my friends have moved over to FF14, I loved WvW, but I think for most including the ones who don’t post here, because they know its a waste of time, to time to move on to a new game, GL to all those who stay and play the game how you are told to play it.

I love all these comments about, it should be punishing, and, at last a worthy event, yadda yudda, its BS,

I love the idea behind an event is hard, and takes time to learn, what I CANNOT stand, is the fact it fails time and time again because of people who jump in the dam turrets ( WHICH ARE NEEDED TO WIN) and then decide oh ill go AFK for an hour now, hope no one will mind,

We just failed teq, 2 of the people in turrets where afk, 2 more where firing the turrets in the total wrong direct, it took 12 minutes to get teq down to 75%

Clearly when this event was designed and apparently tested ( I use that term openly ) everyone on there test server was active, I guess they never thought for 1 moment that in the open world there might, just might be clueless people, people who love to afk, or people who love to troll ( IE, firing the turrets the wrong way )

So far the only way to really beat him, is to get a group together a good hour before the event spawns, go down to teq ( on the primary server ) and wait, because if you leave it nearer the time, you can bet that the afk’s are already waiting in the turrets.

I understand your comment about if you don’t like it then don’t do it, but fact is they decided to link rewards to this event that CAN ONLY be gotten if you take part in the event, but the event can be failed before it starts….. it needs addressing.

Can’t say im in favour of this update, you spend more time trying to keep the nodes, than actually running around the map defending more important keeps etc,

The map update was great, but the buff is annoying, I really do feel for the servers that struggled against higher numbers, but its going to be 100x worse for them now,

They should do something different with the new capture points, be it boosts for carrying more supplies, or allows camps etc to regenerate supplies faster, etc etc, something that can benefit the servers too.

This event is going to be dead within 3 days, on a T1 server twice now have only gotten it down 5% health,

We know the dymanics you defend the turrets etc, but then the champs show up, along with mass poison etc, sorry its a waste of 15mins,

I understand the side of team work, but trying to co-ordinate 80-100 people who want to play the “game” the way they want is impossible in an open world PvE map, and god forbid your melee damage classes die underneath him, you have no chance in hell of ressing them, so they lie there as the nearest waypoint is over a minute away, so they decide to sit and afk.

If this had been an 80-100man instanced event, for a guild/friends then it may have worked, but as it stands, it wont, and people will lose interest, the guys I run with have already given up on it, and went back to dungeons etc,

In the dev video, they wouldn’t have gotten him down to the first phase if it wasn’t for the dev using the command that stripped about 4million of his health,

Good to see that Anet are doing updates, but I wont be back near teq, its the biggest waste of 15mins in the game for something that has what a 0.0000?% of dropping, id rather go cut down a few tree’s and make profit.

On the T1 server im on twice we’ve tried and twice his health dropped 5% in 15 mins, pointless event now.

Going to sound stupid, but they will ask you this,

Are all your GFX drivers up to date, if its a brand new system, you may have used the CD drivers that came with the GFX card which could be several months out of date.

You really don’t seem to have any luck with this game, looking at some of your previous posts,

Its unlikely that Anet can do anything here, even if they did offer a warranty on such things chances are it would be via the store that you bought it from,

Also the game is a year old now, there have been several gig’s worth of updates over the year, the dvd install is just the basic client, and will require you to download every update since launch as soon as you start it up,

Your best bet would be to download the client, and run the -image command to make sure you get it all, then back up the gw2.dat file, this would stop you having to install everytime, as you can just copy the dat file back in, if you do this I would recommend you back it up after every major game update.

When you crashed, and the error report box popped up, under the more details tab, what was the exact error that its telling you that you are getting.

Id say its more likely the way the connections are routing to the GW2 servers, if FIOS is d/cing chances are its taking a path via its network that has a downed node/ or something is being flooded with traffic,

Your net speed will never be to fast for anything online, I know people with 200+down and have no issues at all.

It looks like the icons have lost there mapping to the main EXE files,

Have you moved a folder with games on it to another HDD etc, if you are 100% sure that you do not have malware/Trojan etc on your system, go to the program files>guild wars 2, and right click the master exe file and select create shortcut, and then send it to the desktop, this will create a new short cut,

The fact that both games did it, suggests something nasty is hiding on your system, or you have moved a file/files from 1 HDD to another and its lost the mapping for the shortcuts.

I totally agree that OCing hardware can lead to crashes etc, but i think they use that as a fallback around here, like a, oh your overclocking that the problem, many people and alot of high performance systems can easily be overclocked and run 24/7 just fine, in games way more intense than GW2, aslong as you can keep the system cool, also from looking at my log file, nearly every out of memory error it when it peaks at 2,945mb, so there has got to be a trigger point at the 2.8Gb+

I have not ran into that same issue as you where it crashes multiply people at the same time, even when on TS with others in the area.

I agree, since the change to dungeons, ive actually started running them more often, I find the rewards/champ loot in there a little better than what it used to be,

As for the champ farmers in QD, you play and kill what you like when you like, if they don’t like it, to bad.

Well other than that I opened 700 champ chests and got 1 exotic and 2 rares and a shocking 697 greens, but as im sure some will jump on soon its just RnG.

I feel sorry for those who which to try and complete this now, I feel its a lose/lose for them,

If anet nerf ( which is bound to happen ) the champ spawns, the masses of people that still actually go to these events will stop, as it will not be worth the 45 mins, thus making it harder again for those who wish to complete it,

If they leave it alone, those again who wish to complete it will be at the mercy of the people who want to farm for loot, ( which honestly can you blame them, as even with the updates happening, loot is still lacking in this game )

Also, when does it freeze/crash, actually which does it do, it either freezes your system, or it crashes it,

Are you in WvW/PvP/PvE, world events etc etc etc, what settings are you running/ system specs.

There are way to many people that are getting this problem for it to be everyones computer, its clearly an issue with the client and the way it uses memory, as soon as it requests more than 3Gb WHAM out of memory error, it was really bad back at the start when the game was launched it used to happen when you changed zones on a 32bit OS,

All these people with 64bit OS with 8+GB ram, getting out of memory errors, backed with the fact its been reported about 20-30+times on these forums alone and not 1 reply from an Anet tech about it, leads me to believe that Anet know about the problem, but they do not know how to fix it, or they cannot fix it, thus they do not want to me hounded on the forums by replying to a topic about it,

For me, I can play massive WvW Zerg battles ( NA T1 style ) and be fine, but the Scarlet event at the end, I crashed everytime, its a client based issue.

Lowering the culling settings by 1 tick on each did stop the crashing without any massive impact on WvW, even though I shouldn’t have had to do that.

I would much rather anet said sorry, we don’t know how to fix it/we cannot fix it, than just ignore it altogether.

Its to bad you didn’t trust anyone in your guild to be joint leader this way in the event of something like this happening, they could have promoted you again,

As its been said, support cannot help you, so unless you have someone else online who can promote you, you will either have to create a new guild, or hope you can get in touch with the inactive member.

This was happening the other day aswell, with FoTM, me and a guildmate tried to start it, the other 3 players where on another server, they could not join us, when they started it, we could no join them,

We had to guest to the other server and it did let us join, but my guild mate got the anet lag of death skill followed by that fatal disconnect error, when they re-logged it would not let them join us again, regardless whether they guested or not,

Same problems with TA and CoF also, we gave up 2 days ago because of this.

I think its FotM that is glitching, you cannot even enter FotM on SoR atm, the instance is broken.

3 from CD

Both of us on SoR could not enter, we got pop up window but nothing, 3 from CD got in fine, we had to guest to CD in order to get in, others on SoR having the same issue.

EDIT: the game DC’d the other party member from SoR and it would not let them rejoin the instance, it then kicked me from the game, and wouldn’t let me rejoin the instance, we are both in the UK connecting to SoR NA server, this needs to be looked into.

And if you look into it, a lot of places are saying its linked to a Fatal Hardware Error, and in some they say its the motherboard that is dying,

Sadly the only way to really test the MB is to test your hardware in another system, either way something in your system is failing and will fail completely, so if you haven’t, back everything up now to an external drive. (just to be safe)

But yea the error your getting is 100% hardware failure, sorry couldn’t be of more help.

I shouldn’t have to salvage 2500 rares to get a good rate of return, the sample size you did was an exception, no one in the game will hold on to 2500 rares before salvaging, it just doesn’t work that way, the ecto salvage has not been right since it was bugged last time,

The loot from champs wasn’t made to good, it was made just right to cover the NO LOOT from well any zone in the dam game over the last 8-10 months, the problem is and I don’t believe for a second they didn’t forecast this, the new champ bags just show how BAD the loot is and always has been at the temple/world events……

This game is about grind plain and simple, you have to grind for everything, if anet put an event in 1 zone that spawned unlimited waves of enemies, NO one would champ farm, they would flock to said zone/area to farm it, they need to fix the world events so that loot it rewarded for time invested, and as it stands the best example of this is the Jormag event, long, boring, no loot.

uh huh, I see this going down well from all them people who are trying for a legendary.

Can you please remove Jormag from Frostgorge Sound, until you get around to finally looking at the loot from these world events, as it stands I can go and mine 1 Ori node and have more value in 3 ore than I can from the entire Jormag event,

Twice now ive ran past jormag to see only 8-10 people trying to beat it, once I even joined in, 45 mins it took and all I got was a blue, some greens and an upgrade worth like 1silver, the daily chest must drop a rare, but really the rewards for the world events are just poor beyond a joke, hell just kill 1 champ and you have more loot value than the entire jormag and teq dragons put together.

GW1 was a completely different game, Ecto in GW1 could be farmed or bought from a vendor, and was only used for FoW Armor,

In GW2 it can only be gotten from salvaging rares, with a low chance of recovering it, it is also used in ALOT of crafting abilities, they are adding more and more things that require ECTO, but no other way to obtain it, its a T6 mat, why is it not in the champ loot boxes?

C/Dust is now linked to Ecto,

The Demand is going to rapidly outstrip supply from Tuesday onwards, and id say you could easily add another 10-15s on todays price.

@zeromius, I hear what your saying, but sadly people have been shouting out on the forums for the best part of a year now that the loot for events is crap, and now its going to shine threw next week.

GW1 was a superior game, id love to see it re-released on the GW2 engine so it had updated GFX, as im sure it would pull more players than GW2,

There are so many things that should be addressed, from the GW1, the portal in the C/desert that took you to Crystal Overlook, what happened to the Underworld, its still there surely, yet no mention of it at all, other than Grenth,

What happened to Elona, and Cantha, 200 years on, what did they just disappear, I think they have sided with this LS in a hope that the updates will stop people thinking or asking about GW1,

I played GW1 for 7 years, always something to do, now I struggle to complete dailies, personally me and friends just waiting for a new game, GW2 is not a game that is meant to be played all day, its a game your supposed to spend an hour a day on and play something else the rest of the time, very sad, but anyone who played GW1, will know its also very true.

The ecto rate from salavaging rares is shockingly poor, I used a BLSK on 10 lvl 80 rares and got 4 ecto, yet its supposed to have a 50% rate,

Ectos have went up 8/9 silver in a day, that says it all right there, with no new way to get ectos in the game other than salvaging, I don’t see many people pushing ascended anything.

This is also having a massive negative impact on C/dust which has also shot way up in price,

Personally its great for me, as I don’t plan to go for ascended gear, just a waste of time, so technically its awesome for sellers, but I don’t just think about myself, and my friends etc and anyone else who wants this gear is getting screwed hard.

So the new ascended crafting looks like its going to require more ecto than ever, c/dust has already started going up in price, ecto has went up a good bit too since that post on the site from anet,

Ecto jumped 7silver on that announcement about it being needed,
C/dust went up 8-9 silver each,

As its clear that ecto is a T6 mat, can we have it added to the champ boxes, its shocking that you have to salvage rares to get it, I salvaged 10 lvl 80 rares with a black lion salvage kit and got 4 ecto, its stupid numbers, it almost looks like that salvage glitch from way back,

And now you want us to salvage exotics, how do you really see that happening, most people cannot even get a pre cursor, and now you want them to salvage the exotics they where using in the forge, for a small chance that it might drop some mat that they need to craft ascended gear…..

Has this really been thought through properly?

I dread to think how badly the economy is going to get screwed up on Tuesday, and it might just recover in time to get hammered again for the ascended armor update, /sigh.

Umm what are you talking about OP, me and a few friends did 2 invasions today and the champ loot was fine,

What zone where you in,
What time where you in the zone,
Was it main server or overflow,
Are you on EU or NA,

Because honestly your post isn’t exactly helpful or forthcoming with information.

I would have said it was the PSU but I see your running a laptop, so Im not sure,

Do you know what the temps are like, technically it could be overheating, ive seen a system shut down like that before when the CPU overheated, but mostly when it just turns off like the way you are describing it usually relates to a power source issue.
