There is a massive I mean MASSIVE difference between WvW and PvE for culling, you turn if on in WvW you are dead before you even see what hit you, in PvE you turn it off and you lag out so badly some people crash,
I have a fairly decent system, i7 3770k, 16Gb ram, SSD, 680GTX, and I still get lag issues with full culling turned off, I would really really love to know what super computer the Anet team have for testing with, its got to be something that could power a small city.
Its not people farming champs that losing, its people not knowing what they are doing that’s causing you to lose,
I did 6 invasions today, 2 successful, 3 failed, and 1 the game crashed, on me, ( but the server beat it )
I have found that if you are fast enough to get into the primary map on your server you will 9/10 times complete it, the overflows seem to stem a lot of AFK’rs who are just chasing a title.
I have ran into 2 crashes since the most recent update, I notice this is more when we are fighting Scarlet that anything else,
Its the dreaded Out of Memory error, this has happened at the same point in the last 2 days, as soon as Scarlet spawns and you get the mass onslaught of people hitting her, the game crashes out, causing me to miss the reward for the zone, and killing her, this is a waste of 45 minutes to be fair,

I have had no problems in the game until this update, even in the massive NA T1 WvW battles, I don’t want to have to turn down settings, else it seems kind of pointless to have a good gaming system if you cannot use it.
I have now missed the rewards for Sparkfly Fen and Harathi Hinterlands because of this crash, im farily certain the game isn’t eating threw 16Gb ram.
Where in the game are you, my 680GTX had no problems in running this game at 80-100fps, until that no culling in PvE update, now LA is horrible, WvW is shocking ( had no problem pre PvE culling update ) Scarlet battles are so so.

It doesn’t seem to matter what system you have, or how good it is, its the limitations of the client that we have, and these big world events will continue to cause crashes.
How do you propose they fix a zerg, actually better yet define a zerg, on the server im on, a guild that is nearly 100% WvW only, at night run with 40-80 members its 1 big guild party, so you want Anet to punish them for working together as a team ( or zerg as you call it )
Its nearly impossible to remove from the game, you cannot punish normal everyday players because they are running with a group of people,
Why would you run 5 or 10 man groups when the enemy is running at you with 20-30, it makes no sense,
The only time I see if being a problem is when 1 server with lower WvW players it put against a server with higher WvW players, then it becomes stacked,
Point is, if you hurt or punish a player for running around an OPEN FIELD COMBAT MAP with other players, they just wont come back,
Then you will be back here crying to anet because there is no one in WvW.
Its not the zergs that are driving people out of WvW, its the serious lack of the ability of the server to communicate with there players, instead of harassing them because they are new to the format.
They cannot make the loot in WvW on par with PvE, else we would have a zerg on each map of PvE’rs that have no interest in WvW, and you would never get in, I just hope that when they make changes to the PvE champs, it will not affect the champs in WvW.
They should make it that the PvX Chests
1-50 – Green Weapon – 20% chance at rare or better
51-100 – Green Weapon – 40% chance at rare or better
101-250 – Green Weapon – 50% chance at rare or better

401-600 – Rare Weapon – 40% chance at exotic

Every 2500 ranks after should be Pre cursor, the insane length of time needed to get to these levels is unreal, if I was to invest the same time in PvE I would probably get the pre cursors, it rewards the hardcore WvW’s the same way the game rewards the hardcore PvE’rs

Yaks Bend for example is in the Northern Shiverpeaks, the map should be mountains/snow etc etc, the garrison should be extremely hard to cap/control, whereas camps further out should be easier to take unless protected etc,
Sorrows Furance, was in the Southern Shiverpeaks, yet was underground, a map for this should say have the garrison underground, again difficult to attack, yet supply camps outside on the surface as less difficult.
Crystal Desert, clue is in the name I guess, you see where im going with this,
Personally each world should be different, and the envading world should have to really battle hard for control, something like this would be game changing, and I personally wouldn’t care if it took them 2-3 years to achieve this, but its a time investment problem I guess, as im sure its been looked at.
That is really awesome, but with 51 total servers, that would require more maps than we currently have in the game. Which wouldn’t be feasible in anything shorter than years, several in fact. I’m hoping we can at least start introducing some variety, maybe even different home maps, sometime relatively soon, but this version is essentially unworkable.

That does seem more reasonable. When/if we start on additional home maps, we will very much be looking to vary the gameplay and feel of them. It’s my hope that each new borderland will improve upon the previous and if we do well enough we might be able to have enough to build a rotation. That is a long way off, if ever, though. We will definitely be looking for ways to make new maps unique, no matter how many we make.
Make it happen :-p you know you want to, we believe in you, hehehe, no I know it would take a lot of time and investment, so until it happens ill keep slugging away at the enemies BL’s that we currently have.
Yes im aware you could build an army inside the likes of bay, garrison, or cap a camp and built it etc etc, and if its your own BL then yes you could build them up no problem, but from the way the OP posted it was made out that they where standing in a T3 tower waiting for them to come at them, if you had good map control it could be a lot harder to build 30 golems, and keep them safe.
Im on one of the top T1 servers in NA, and we don’t see many golem rushes, granted we do sometimes if we are bored, but its not really something ive seen a lot of.
It was really bad after the event went live and it was fixed in a hot fix patch, the loot is still below where it was, but it is still better than right after patch,
The badges of honour have dropped way off, I use to get over 200-400 day depending on how long I played, now its more like 20-30, for the same time, im not sure if this was something that was overlooked, or if it was turned down because of the mass invasion of badges from the PvE AP chests.
Real easy fix to that, if you really want to get into it then, how hard to you think it would be to make it that you cannot take supplies from 1 BL to another, oh wow what you going to do now, make it that golems cannot be ported, oh wow what you going to do now…………

The drop rate for anything decent out of chests in low full stop, I know a few people over level 400 and they are lucky to have received a rare let alone an exotic or god forbid a pre cursor,
Takes on average an hour of play to get a WxP chest if your active, with a low chance of a rare and even lower chance of exotic and a none existent chance at pre cursor,
If you want these sort of items you should just role the world bosses/events, if you time it right you can get about 6/7 in an hour, and get 14 chests.
I think the WvW soulbound levels where an oversight in the beginning, I personally believe they expected people to play WvW the same as they wanted people to play PvE, where as you log into a char go play for 20 mins, log out get another char and do the same, the titles and ranks in WvW take such a massive amount of time, it makes no sense for the Achievement in WvW to be Account bond, yet the WxP levels are soulbound,
I believe though its more than likely to difficult now to correct without resetting the entire thing back to 0, and if you are someone who is at 500+ you will not want this, for those who play hardcore WvW we just got to accept it that you cannot play with Alts, WvW is not Alt friendly for time vs investment.
Golems take a lot of supplies to make, so instead of sitting in your T3 tower waiting for the 30-50 golem zerg to show up, why not do more map control and watch them camps, you control the supply line, you control the map…..if you cant be bothered to do that, then be prepared to sit and wait for them 30-50 golems to come at you.
I usually get this too, but more when an ele spawns the hammer, the hammer will show until I put the mouse over it, and then it becomes a white box, I don’t know what it does this, all my drivers etc are up to date, I know others get the same problem, I just put it down to the way the game engine render’s the weapons etc.
I get no loot at all from champs in Orr now, I was down there 2 days ago killing some champs, left the zone, went back the following day killed about 20 champs no chests, I figured I wasn’t doing enough damage, went back yesterday tried again, still no chests, that’s when I noticed everyone was a guardian/warrior, ( heavy melee ) so apparently there was a silent update that means casters don’t get loot,
I wont run my guard down in Cursed Shore, as it just reminds me of when you had to run zerker in CoF, so you are not alone on this issue,
Friends have also had the same problem in CS, so none of us bother down there anymore, and where not even a week into the update.
Now does the fact that people say no to busy farming champions not tell you something,
The world events just do not produce the loot that they should, therefore people avoid them like the plague, the jormag was is the best example of this, take 30 mins to kill the boss, fight swarms of enemies ( that drop NO LOOT ) to finally kill jormag, to get 3 or 4 blues/greens, if your lucky a rare from the chest, ( I don’t count the daily chest as its always a rare )
Honestly if it wasn’t for the champ at the temple of Melandru dropping that champ loot chest, this would be another world event that would never get completed, as it also spawns swarms of enemies that drop no loot, yet you must fight them all to get the event to complete.
In the same 30 minutes I could run around the map and kill say 5 or 6 champions ( im sure some people have it down to more but whatever ) which drop the champ loot chests, which even if they give a green, can drop T6 mats/lodestones, I just need 1 of the chests to drop a Powerful blood, and I already have more value/loot than the entire jormag event produces, Anet have failed time and time and time again to fix this problem,
Whats worse is there fix will be to nerf champs, which in turn will rendor these zones empty again, and there will not be anyone there to farm world events,
The only world events I do, are the temples in Orr, and SB, sometimes Maw if I catch it, the rest I ignore, to long, to boring, and no reward.
I had a friend transfer recently and it cost them 62G to makes the Gems needed, providing your not pushing a legendary just do what they did, sell all your T6 mats/lodestones etc and change the gold out to gems and transfer over, the new update has seen more T6 and lodestones dropping.
There are more champions in this game than you might think. So it’ll force you to spread out a bit. Go run some dungeons. Did you know thy also have champions? And they give out a fancy daily reward all their own.
now please tell me the reason to waste time in a dungeon killing what? couple of champs when i can farm 6 in frostgorge in about 5 minutes or less… Dungeons are irrelevant and are only here for ‘fun’, when you’ve done hundreds of runs in the passed 11 months the fun part isn’t there anymore.
You realise that the Frostgorge farm is going to get so hard with the nerf hammer that you wont want to go back there, I can see them making the champs only spawn every 3-6 hours, and a stupid long event chain to get to that point, so if you miss it to bad, this is always the result of something that is rushed into the game, can you honestly say that they did not forecase that people would flock to the 80 zones and farm champs all day, they will kill this farm in FG and in CS aswell, so that they become ghost zones again, so farm it while you can.
If they make champs once a day, they have to exclude WvW, as in PvE you have a choice whether to kill a champ or not, in WvW you HAVE to kill the champ to claim a tower/keep etc, remember that anet when you bring the nerf hammer down.
And for all those who come on crying saying it needs to be changed its screwing up the economy etc, where were you when they allowed the CoF farming for months, it did more damage than anything else since launch,
Remember the game isn’t to be played the way you want, its to be played the way they want you to play it.

Elona would be easier to get back into the game, if Anet pushed the game towards the crystal desert, the old portal would be in the south that took us to crystal overlook in Elona, at least there was a direct link from CD to CL/Elona
They are just destroying WvW for those who love to play it.
Clearly the dev that responded was told by someone else to post that, or they where reading off a flow chart of answers to use, because they clearly have NO IDEA what is actually going on in WvW.
How about a dev that actively plays in WvW and gets involved in the zerg fights, and let us know how you handle,

The only issue I had before this update on Tuesday was the skill delay when 50v50 clashed in open field, as of Tuesday WvW is unplayable, I used to beable to log on any time of day and get straight into a battle, now the BL’s are dead.
So how does your idea work then, when 1 server is massively stacked against the other, the entire week could be over in 3 hours.

How is it ridiculous, is it ridiculous that someone can go take 5 mins to fight the frost maw and now get a hammer worth 400g, then jump down to ORR, and kill a champ and maybe get another hammer worth 400g, abet the chances are low but it could happen,
If you only play WvW then that gold they get maybe the only gold in the game they get etc,

Killed over 200 ppl today so far and only got 15 badges, and a few heavy bags, this is way way way below what would normal be dropping in WvW,
Anets way of pushing us into PvE?
Course could be linked to the massive screw up that has occurred in WvW and massive delay on skills etc, so its not recording hits correctly.
The one that spawns the tornados, (cannot remember name sorry) knocked me down, then beat me threw the floor, and I fell all the way to the PvE battles below, instant death, even my guild mate seen me falling, asking what was going on.
I have the same issue, only I notice it more in WvW, infact, WvW is unplayable as of that update, whatever they changed messed up the GFX in the game badly, load times have also been increased here, at first I thought it was because LA was full, but it loads times all over the game, my SSD used to load zones in about 3-5 seconds, now its closer to 20.
It has to be a bug, I doubt they would make that once per day per champ, could you imagine that for the WvW only players, all guild lords are champs, you may kill the same 1, 3 times a day, but only get reward once, yet a PvE player can go from zone to zone….. unlikely, but if they did do that, it has not been thought out properly.
Some of the titles in GW1 maybe hard to get now, esp the mapping ones in Factions as you need 2 PvP zones that require 2 × 8 man parties to enter, else you will be scraping the walls of that world for weeks,
Are there many people still in GW1, last time I logged in I gave away all my Elite tomes/booze/candies etc….

Its a bug, its been reported many times, I guess they will fix it when they fix the glitch that allows people to teleport threw the walls etc, an Anet dev did it the other day by mistake and reported to it there team, so it should be getting looked at and patched soon id say.
Totally agree, but sadly Anet do not, they only want you to farm CoF in order to obtain anything in this game now, that’s why all high end areas are dead, and all loot removed from them,
I find it funny that loads of people cried about having to do WvW for the badges for a LEGENDARY, so Anet made it super easy to get the 500 badges now, yet us WvW got royally screwed,
Say you Rank up 5 times a day in WvW ( causal playing ) w00t 5 greens, yet a PvE player can do 5 World events in under an hour if timers are right, and get a rare everytime, and maybe exotics too,
WvW loot = SUCKS
Personally I have stopped hunting Orr mobs for loot – you get better loot from random world events and their mobs in the other low level zones. 40 mins like the example above you can get 5-10 yellows depending on luck. But of course that is with its own limitations.
What sucks the most is also as shown – 50% of the mobs give nothing. Why?! Not even a porus bone?! A moldy finger?!
ANET should give us a Hardcore Cursed Shore zone which scale up all regular mobs to veterans with guaranteed loot and all veterans to champions. It’d be hard as kitten but at least it would give cursed shore some meaning.
there was a place called “gwauns valley” or something like that in mount maelstrom.
a small place filled with fast respawning champions. it was awesome!
you killed a lot less mobs, but the champs lived long enough for everyone to tag and each of them gave a guaranteed drop.
it still gave (considerably) less gold per hour than CoF but nevertheless Anet felt the nerf to destroy the spot…
which is a shame; it was great to have a farm spot that was not Orr or CoF.
I can see why they would nerf a spot that had fast respawning enemies as this would bring bots in seeing as they wouldn’t have to move,
Anets problem was, sorry there excuse for destroying CS, was down to bots farming the events, so they may the events more annoying and only spawn once a day it would seem, and now the 100’s of enemies drop no loot at all, and the champ that is scaled way above where it should be will now drop you a blue, they hands down killed the zones, because “you played the way you wanted” not the way Anet wanted, clearly someone on the dev team is a hardcore COF farmer, hence why it hasn’t been nerfed yet, I had a friend ran it over 2000 times and bought his legendary outright as it was faster than trying to farm for the mats that anet removed from the game, IS THAT HOW ANET INTENDED FOR US TO PLAY.
There idea was that you would log in, do an event, get 1 silver reward, use 3 silver to WP across game world to do another event, and so on and so fourth, point is, if people are down in CS farming there not spending $$$$$$$$ on gems, which is what they want, so they killed the areas,
Look how many topics are on these forums about this exact problem, and the number of people its driving away from the game, and the REFUSE to acknowledge there is a problem.

Sadly you might aswell forget anywhere south of LA exists in the game, Anet know its dead down there, they made it that way, they have no intentions on fixing it, if it wasn’t for WvW me and most of my friends would have quit, and the drops in WvW suck bad.

CS was destroyed months ago, ANET nerfed the entire zone into the ground, then nerfed it some more just to make sure, you can spend hours down there and not get any decent drops,
Basically what anet want you to do is
Jormag>Teq>Shatterer>Maw>Wurm>SB – and if you have your daily after them, log out and come back and do it again tomorrow, you can also take an extra 45mins – 1 hour and do the new content, then log out.
With click 300 this and 200 that content and no expansion i don’t expect this game to last long enough to make it worth it. Yesterday we had problems finding 2 random players for CoF, there were barely any people at entrance, we were shocked. If it’s not a sign GW2 population is seriously droping i don’t know what is. This, Anet have destroyed this game, they put out this new content bi weekly when they can, hoping it will keep people coming back, it does show that the dev team are busy, but they IGNORE the masses of topics on this forum about there END GAME AREAS that are dead, over 20 hours of “farming” in CS this week and I have less than a dozen T6 mats to show for it, its a bloody joke,

I 100% agree and i feel that accounts are flagged on creation with DR/MF a friend of mine who didn’t play for months recently started playing and in the last 2 weeks has gotten 4 pre cursors from forge, 3 of them within 90 minutes of each other, then had the spark drop about 10 days later, while others who have been on everyday since pre release haven’t got squat,
This is why most have stopped going for them.
I see some saying that in GW1 Anet removed drops etc, that’s not entirely true, DR was put into the game to hit at the 55hp builds ( monk/ sins/ necros ) from solo farming, but some spots where left alone so that people could farm all day, and still get a fairly decent return.
Im not sure if this is Anets fault because they want us to play their game how they want, or NCSoft because they want to squeeze as much $$$ out of it before it crashes and burns, I don’t believe for 1 minute that Anet dev’s are reading this forum and saying to bad, because they have spent the best part of 5 years making this game, for it to crash and burn in what a year, cannot see that happening,

WvW, rewards are a joke also, get rank up chests that take a few hours to get ( time pending ) for a green and some silver, REALLY, i could if i wanted just go stand at SB, Maw, Wurm etc and get the same reward in less than 10 minutes, with a guaranteed RARE, yes WvW is not for farming, but what incentive is there to go to it…. some people only play WvW, are they not entitled to loot, i see that some people said well pre cursors drop in WvW, me and my friends have done a lot of WvW, and none of us have seen such a drop.
There is a rumor of a revamped reward system coming, but I can see this pushing towards world events in which case if your at work/school/sleeping when they happen to bad you still get no loot,
Like many others me and my friends are now looking for a new game, and we are advising all other friends not to pick this game up, there really is nothing to do in it. If in the event any dev does every read this, its a major concern echo’d across your community, you should take the time to address this concern before you have no one left to address it too, MMO’s can grow and die very fast.

If it wasn’t meant to be, how come the terrain also changed, the ledge where people used to stand was also removed, along with the new massive amount of Ice Shards that kill the golems.
Another thing that the majority of players don’t seem to understand about the first phase:
Explosives do the most damage to both the ice shield and the Claw itself.
Don’t just stand on a ledge auto-attacking with Charrzookas if you want to do it expediently!
Pick up a bomb kit and RUN!
You cannot stand on the ledge auto attacking, because the ledge has been removed,
There was more than 40 of us at this event, when the golems started walking down, it spawned close to 40 of then ice crystals instantly, they where nearly respawning as fast as we could take them down,
The event has been made harder/longer, either by mistake or intentional, yet the loot is the same, like I said, no one will bother with this event now, just another event where you are not rewarded for the time you have to invest in it.
There has been many a topic on this, and I know its more about the $$ game now than the causal players etc, but has anyone tried Jormag since last nights patch.
I think this has to be a joke, Jormag was nearing the hour mark when we decided to leave it, and still had 75% health on phase 2, so now you get to spend an hour of your day playing trying to kill a dragon that will drop you blues maybe a green, if your extremely lucky you will get a Rare, and good luck getting an exotic,
Add to that you also get to fight the 3 champs that spawn in phase 2 every 5 mins, for blue drops, try get the golems down to stun Jormag, oh wait they spawn like 100 at a time, and instant kill the golem, this will be a dead event now, everyone there today said they will not return.
You really dropped the ball on this one Anet, did you not read any of the posts on these forums where people ARE crying out for REWARD VS TIME, this is a TIME SINK and gives no Reward at all, I hope this was a glitch that will be changed.
We tried the new dungeon in LA, lag spikes where shocking, 8seconds + you cannot beat that lazer room with that lag time, entire party was getting it, and other parties in guild also,

Yep there using a zoom hack to see further, about 2 months ago this was reported by like 30 people on my server at the same time because the ele wakittenting an arrow cart inside a tower that they had no line of sight.
Its funny how perma invis thiefs have been running around for months and the way we where given to combat them was a trap in WvW that no one uses, now they get a super condition added on, hopefully Anet will have traited it in, in such a way that it cannot be used whilst they are in perma invis,
I play a Mesmer a good bit also, and from what they are saying we also get it, this could be devastating to say the least, again hopefully its traited correctly, if its not, WvW is going to turn into Necro/Mesmer/Thief only.
In saying that, I cannot believe they over looked the Ranger yet again, how many topics have been made by people asking for the Ranger to be looked into, amazing really,
But that all aside, I wonder are they even going to look into the issues that have been raised by the masses on here, espically around there so called end game zones that drop no loot from enemies, id doubt it very much, what about perm content, seems a lot of time and effort goes into making content for 2 weeks at a time.
I guess NCSoft are just going to push as much money out of this game as they can before they pull the plug on the funding, the current trends are continuing this game will be dead by Christmas,

I would highly doubt you would see a great difference, espically if you are running SLI as it stands.
As Anet refuses to tell us how the DR kicks in, im not sure, i got my Rare in the last 10 mins i was there, i guess DR only kicks in maybe if you are sitting in 1 place farming.
We’ve all seen topic and thread upon threads about the Cursed Shore and its vast lack of loot, we have all asked Anet to look into it, but we don’t ever seem to post proper numbers, this community on here it vast, and covers nearly all timezones across the planet, we could easily build a topic here to show the loot is lower than normal,
I know that ANET have proposed a change in the 2nd half of the year, but im not sure it will make a difference, I have friends quitting this game daily because they are bored with trying to farm end game zones and getting no loot,
I asked a guild mate to join me in Cursed Shore today to farm events, and roam the map for events, we ran approx. 100-140% MF in the time we spent,
The first thing we noticed was there didn’t seem to be any events, everything was contested but there didn’t seem to be any events going to help uncontest these area’s, the main one was Anchorage waypoint, was contested the entire time but no events popped to allow us to uncontest it..
In the roughly 1h20mins we where down there, we did
Jo Fasts WP Event
Reclaim Gavberns Landing x2
Pent
Shelter
R&D Waypoint event x 2
We also did another random 9-11 event that where kill xx enemies or kill this veteran, we also did the pirate boss in the ship to the south,
This was the Loot that dropped in all that time.
25-30 silver ( event rewards )
4 clumps of risen
8 random whites
18 random blues
7 random greens
1 rare
36 coffers
58 porous bones
2 BLTC chests
3 scrap metal
1 Large Scale
4 Intricate totems
2 ruby crystals
34 heavy moldy bags.
Some of them drops came from random enemies as we where running between events, the 1 event that stood out was the 1 north of R&D where you kill the champ that spawns where plinx used to be, that champion dropped NO LOOT at all, ( thought all champs where supposed to drop loot??? )
I don’t want this to turn into a troll fest, for those who are interested in seeing the drop rates, go and farm it for about 90 mins and post back what you get, because we are being led to believe nothing is wrong.
