So a few days ago I got the urge to tank again, so I polish off the old Rift account and roll a brand new Warrior to tank my way to 65 with dreams of end game tanking; I finally queue up and immediately want to start killing every one in my group, all the common BS that makes all tanks want to drink happens within the first 5 minutes.
Thank the 6 that GW2 doesn’t have tanks, I much prefer offering spot protection with my reflects, shouts, and base damage reduction with my Hammer.
Last Sunday my wife and I had to put our baby girl to sleep Dani Pants. I’ve made a close approximation of Dani but the fur is too short, are there new longer fur options in the total make over kit? I’ve uploaded a picture of Dani.
24 hour availability screwed ANet as far as I’m concerned, I get paid every two weeks; now I’m much more likely to spend that money I’m getting paid else where next Thursday because ANets not going to have any thing I want to buy.

There are times when I sit, head in hands, wondering what fiendish mind thought of the access route for a particular vista. I look around the lunch room and think “Which of YOU did that to me!”
I seriously, passionately hope that we have vistas in Guild Wars: Heart of Thorns, because they are the best way to see the beauty of the world, and the talent of our artists and level designers.
I just sort of wish they have an “E Z Mode” for people like me.

I don’t have Vios but I do have Time Warner, and live in NY. Today I had the joy of being DCed twice while trying to do Sanctum Rush for daily, multiple times in Caledon Forest again while trying to do daily, getting DCed multiple times in SW looking for chests while waiting for a Breach losing a shovel each DC, getting DCed during a Breach only to log back into a Chest Farm map, and finally DCing multiple times while trying to use the BLTP.
It’s Quality of Life things like this that inspire me to spend money else where as opposed

99.9% of the lag and DC issues are beyond Anet’s control, it the Internet. Go to any online game support forum and the number one complaint is lag and DC it’s not just GuildWars it’s all online gaming just because one game works for you and another one doesn’t, is because the way you are being routed to the game servers. Also lag and DC could be connected with the way the game is connecting to the servers not all games are the same it may depend on how your system handles it, is your security set to high are you connected to the Internet with an Ethernet cable, or over WiFi, if it’s Wifi try a cable. How many people are on the same connection with you if you live in a house with a large family then that could be your issue. Do you download stuff, or stream stuff while gaming, are you on Skype when you play. Sorry folks Skype sucks, get on a good VoIP system that was designed for online gaming like TeamSpeak or Ventrilo. Before you start playing the blame game make sure you have the facts straight.
It’s not me I just traded in my modem today for a new modem that has a built in router, I did this because I upgraded my internet speed from Time Warner Turbo to Extreme. There’s no excuse I have new equipment, and I’m paying for premium speed.
Well I just got back home after upgrading my internet, picking up a new modem/router combo; guess what GW2 is still FUBARd. Just typing this while I’m alt tabbed from Rift while looking up a build.
Time Warner Cable customer here, game was almost unplayable last night, I had money to burn so I decided to buy some Rex instead of Gems. Thanks so much for looking into this issue and posting updates in this thread, it really shows how much you want us east coasters to spend money in your gemstore.

Seems to me the Hammer abilities mixed with the Dwarf Legend sounds like my favorite Crusader build in D3; swirling Hammers shields, ranged Hammer throws, baked in defensive Tankyness, a taunt (this sounds full of win)!
If I were single and didn’t have to jump through more complicated maneuvers than a jumping puzzle to get my wife to consider it I will have to pass even though I live in NY and would have been a remote possibility to make it a road trip.
Hey it’s only money right, not as if this guy only bought the game with no intention to ever further invest in this game by buying gems. I can tell you this though after having a few 80s and hundreds of hours invested I will never risk having my account banned due to a clerical error; I’ll just get my gems through gold conversion ty very much and buy a physical copy of the expansion.
I have no idea what’s going on today but during Teq I had ability lag where all my abilities were literally not firing off at all leaving me there looking pretty and being useless for stretches of a minute at a shot.
After Teq ended I had problems with BLTP and DCs.
Just now I was running AC path 3 and had a recurrence of the ability lag followed by a string of DC’s.
Obviously I have internet as I’m able to post; my connection is solid as well since I’m currently streaming Netflix on my TV with no hiccups.
Title says it all, AOL decided to shut down all of their Enthusiast Blogs including Massively, Joystiq, and WoW Insider, I’ve relied on these sites for years; can any one suggest alternatives for me please.
I’ve always wanted to give Engineer a try but after hearing the profession descriptions I worry I’ll need a PHD to play it properly.
I’m curious if there’s a guide out there that eases people into Engineering so that you can start out with a simple effective build but gradually learn the the synergy of the rest of the kits so that I can learn to be at least an average Engineer.
My main focus will be Open World PVE, with some casual forays into WvW.
Most of my GW2 experience comes from playing a GS/Hammer/Staff Guardian so if there’s a play style mechanically that might translate over I would appreciate it.
Not sure if my Ram would be compatible or not, worse case scenario I’ll have to buy more. Out of curiosity is there a way for me to find out with out opening my case and looking at the Ram?
According to my Mobo box under Memory it says
4 x DIMM, dual chanel, DDR3 2000OC/1333 1066 MHz, ECC and non-ECC, un-buffered memory.
Since this is a dx9 game, single-thread performance matters a lot, so improving the cpu really means a fps increase. You have two ways:
- Get an after market cpu cooler and overclock your cpu as much as you can. This will need messing with the bios and spending time to learn how to OC and to get it stable.
- Get an intel i5, since they have around 80% more performance than yours. This will also require a new motherboard, so you’ll nearly spend all your budget.
If you want to upgrade the gpu, go for a $200 range one, like gtx 760, gtx 960, r9 280 or r9 285. They offer enough performance to play at +60fps with all graphics at highest.
So I can pick up an i5/ plus mobo for $300, that’s a relief?

Some people think that Anet is sponsored by Santa or something. Things cost money, games cost money. Dont expect them to give games away?!
They do, but by their current expected revenue they can afford to pay every single one of their employees over a $100k annual salary, including bottom-tier customer support workers while still maintaining their infrastructure, building expenses, etc.
The money has already been spent if the content is complete, anyways, seeing as ANet has repeatedly stated they will make no announcements until the content is guaranteed to be released, due to the outrage from lack of delivery of certain WIP items which could not be finished before.
ANet fully paid for all development costs of the game and way more before the game even released. Gem store users account for revenue likely in the hundreds of millions annually. I get that games cost money, but it’s not like they’re hurting for cash, and the cost has already been paid for.
Also to add, GW2 isn’t the only product that’s keeping ANet’s, or should I say NCSoft’s, pants up.
:/ It’s a bit strange how people believe and think that games NEED either a subscription or some sort of money flow… Hell someone a while a go even wanted to throw more money at ANet and proposed a kick-starter event to fund an expansion. Lol…
That was me actually since I was convinced the GW2 profits were being siphoned off to help develop other games published by NCSoft such as Wildstar; it’s all in the past now as we have enough circumstantial evidence to indicate that as expansion is coming.
The idea was sound think of it as when a nonprofit applies and gets a grant for a specific project, legally that money can only be applied to the project that the grant was for, not any other parts of the nonprofit’s budget. That Kickstarter would have made us patrons of a specific art project so to speak.
What’s the Heart of Thorn property going to be a free expansion like some other MMOs, paid (if so how much so I can budget), or a combination meaning free to people that already bought the game/ and bundled with the original game for new players?
I could only grudgingly accept LS content as an acceptable replacement for expansion models only if they manage 2.5 8 episode seasons per calender year with 5 zones per year, adding a new world boss and new dungeon for each season; I could live with that.

If we get some Shadow Knight Class as the Rytlock spoiler photos indicate then it might be a Charr then since I imagine Rytlocks Shadow Knight armor wouldn’t clip.
