Like you’ll never find out what happened there if you don’t get the Thaumanova fractal?
All it would mean is that you won’t play it out first hand in a fractal.
It’s role in the game will not be the same. There will be aftereffects to these fractals.
This is not an event that happened in GW1…
You will only learn SMALL details that lead up to the GW dungeon. Nothing will be relevant to the current lore.
This fractal takes place 1000 years before GW1. In will require creating a lot of new content.
More on that in this thread
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/cutthroat/Thaumanova-more-robot-bosses-on-the-way/first#post2496741
Content NOT related to current events. If Anet wants Abaddon thats cool. But don’t sacrifice new lore for it.
You was lucky to get one 1 Claim Ticket. But I agree with you.
How about letting players have the chance to buy Claim Tickets outright cash only. And have open world RNG chests to obtain them for free.
This is not an event that happened in GW1…
You will only learn SMALL details that lead up to the GW dungeon. Nothing will be relevant to the current lore.
many of us want to see abbadon again its got nothing to do with them being uninspired they ARE inspired by our love of abbadon as one of , no THE best content from gw1 abbadon stole (and probaly ate) the hearts of millions with his purple glowing lightning weapons giant purple gorilla monsters and tentacles of doom.
You probably still have GW on your computer. Abbadon is their ready to play.
Why do you want a simple graphical update of the dungeon? When you can have new lore.
The only important reason why the Abaddon fractal is better: GW1 lore was way more interesting than GW2.
The gods are SO much more compelling than the boring, mindless, no-personality Dragons that we have to cannon to death. The idea that “we don’t know what happened” doesn’t necessarily make the story of what happened good. So far, the GW2 stuff has been pretty lame. I’d rather have a Fractal of the single most important event in the GW1 storyline ever. (of course I wouldn’t put it past Anet to ruin the story by making the gods even LESS important & powerful than they have already retconned.)
These responses are what I see on the forums and in game all the time. You all have already convinced yourself that the thaumanova reactor fractal will suck.
While in reality, the abaddon fractal will just be a boss fight.
wow.. So you have already convinced yourself that the Abaddon fight will be a boss fight & will suck. irony?
Stop trying to relive events from the first GW in GW2. And let the developers make GW2 lore better!
I hope you’re not endorsing gem store RNG skins?
Vote for Evon if you want no new lore.
@Onshi: I thought the devs confirmed that the Fall of Abaddon fractal is NOT the final battle against Abaddon at the end of Nightfall? That it’s actually his very first fall, when he and his followers battled against the Five Gods and lost?
Indeed. Not saying this is true of Onshi, but I’ve noticed a lot of people using a similar sentiment as his just like to lump things together for the sake of justifying otherwise ill-founded favor for Kiel. The same can be said about people shouting Thaumanova is just another reactor, but at least in their case it’s still accurate.
This is GW2! kitten Nightfall, That is in the past. And very unimportant to present day events in the game.
Anet will take our advice on the reactor. And make chaos energy in the Mists affect the open game world. Why because it’s too kitten good of a idea.
I vote for unique lore. That has an effect in the present day of GW2.
Unlike lazily watching some non-god NPC magically defeating a god. And somehow absorbing it’s power to become a God.
If anyone thinks the reactor is a generic explosion than they haven’t been paying attention.
You get to watch a NPC become a God. You will never get to play a God if the fractal wins. And it will still be a mystery how the NPC defeats the God.
Kiel is a vote for original lore that is relevant to present day GW2. Because the chaos rift is still active.
Maybe this will be explorable in the fractal.

Ancient history. Compared to Thaumanova, a largely unexplained event that rivals the rise of Kralkattorik for significance in recent history. What? Why? How?
We all know the story of Abbadon, and most importantly, we all know the full extent of it’s results and significance. Also, chaos magic could potentially be used to create temporal magitech for use in living story.
Thaumanova does not remotely compare to the rise of an elder dragon. Have you not seen the Brand? Kralkattorik created that massive swath of destruction by breathing on the ground. Who knows what he did to the crystal desert. Thaumanova broke reality and such, but only within the walls of the reactor itself.
Also, the infinity ball already opens portals to the future, so there.
Thats not true. I don’t remember how but many places all over the game world are affected by the reactor. Maybe someone that remembers the details can post this.
1. A god is a god. Anet can bring any of their gods into the game any which way they choose and at anytime without actually ruining anything lore-wise. Why? ugghhh… it’s gods. Do whatever with gods, isn’t that the point of some higher power that apparently controls and owns everything?
2. With the reactor fractal, Anet has a chance to offer something so outlandish and new to the lore, it could even affect the gods. Ooooooo…
Also,
#TeamKiel
Why the Thamanova Reactor fractal is irrelevant;
1. People only want it because they don’t know exactly what happened, but we’ll find out regardless at some point. We just won’t be able to play it out and see it first hand.
2. SPOILER
Unicorns did it.
In the open world we would find out what happens at Thamanova Reactor. But it will not be in the Mists.
The whole point is to see how chaos energy affects the Mists.
*Could the chaos gate in in the open world make a bridge to the chaos gate in the Mists?
I think the Thamanova Reactor has possibilities for future living stories. Remember Anet is trying everything to the living story.
Add some succubus wings.
I’d rather not see any gods make it into the game at all because if a god can be beat by a ragtag crew of 5 players on a daily basis, they sure aint that godlike.
I want to see gods in the game at some point. And you’re right the any God that can be killed so easy. Is not a God at all.
Only Gods should be able to kill other Gods.
If Evon wins you’re just going play a updated version of old content. Nothing new will happen.
Vote for Kiel is voting for new content and lore. If know people say we have see the reactor everyday. But that small place may just be the start of the dungeon. The reactor explosion is bound to start a chain of events in the fractal. The has limitless possibilities.
Personally I am kitten ed off that players will vote Evon. Just to see old lore. When we could have a cool new story to follow.
I think Anet just wants to take the easy path. To avoid writing new lore.
So Living stories only focus around Evon and LA.
Ellen Kiel has a airship! So you will see her in more places than LA.
I can see this working like diving glasses. Being isolated to specific locating.
If and only if they can’t be controlled at all, you’re at the whims of the wind.
Should be controlled lift, right, not up and always descending.
Better suggestion is to start buying Gnash support and join the winning team.
Gnash is a vote for more boring Living Stories based on merchants.
I don’t think it’s a desk job if Kiel wins. Remember she has a ship. She will be all over the world in the Living Story.
Gnashblade however will be in LA. Counting his money and planning to betray everyone.
I want Living Stories to be less centered on LA.
The Aetherblade dungeon was really fun too, I wish that was permanent. Even making a legendary isn’t difficult, its just either time consuming or expensive- and anet advertised this game as a game where farming was less prominent than othwr mmos.
Aetherblade dungeon is going to be a fractal. Along with the Molten Weapon Facilities.
Right now we are voting on the 3rd dungeon.
ur waisting your time, abbadon will feast on your eyes
That I can watch on youtube.
I think Anet released Cantha should be it’s own city. So they removed it in DR to add to the game later.
Whatever Anet is planing. I hope it has multiple uses(jumping puzzle, dungeon, buildings and mini-games).
Yes you do! I can go on youtube and watch it all day long.
Suggestion for Ellen Kiel supporters. To place their support banners by Ellen Kiel voting basket. On every even hour server time. So we can have a organized effort to double our votes for Ellen Kiel.
Anet choose two places that has had Chaos rifts for a reason. Anet wants to create a connection between the open world and something in the Mists.
Thaumanova: Chaos rift in open world+Chaos rift in the Mists=Portal for thing to go into or out of the Mists.
Abbadon: Chaos rift in open world+Chaos rift in the Mists=Portal for thing to go into or out of the Mists.
(edited by Onshidesigns.1069)
Do what Anet wants. Like a good boy.
Anet wants us to vote Evon. So I will be voting Ellen Kiel instead.
*Anet gave us more RNG gem store skins.
*Anet did not give players the rapier.
Does anet not want money? It really boggles my mind how they haven’t released this. With summer winding down there isn’t much time left.
Weather always seems the same in the game world. I don’t think Anet should always have their content match the seasons.
Its only a fractal of what happened before. I doubt it would open a portal in Tyria today, as it would have done that already. I’d rather see Gods in action.
NO it’s not! Anet didn’t start developing it yet. Anet may use some of these suggestions for a future living story.
Don’t post here if you are going to be a troll. This post is to inspire Anet if Thaumanova is chosen.
Its called the Thaumanova Reactor Explosion so it is a fractal of what happened before and won’t have any affect on Tyria. We’d visit the Crystal Sea if we choose Abaddon which we’ve never seen before.
You are speculating about the Crystal Sea. Just like I am speculating on Thaumanova. And I do use the word “Speculation” in my post.
After researching gw wiki. Both the reactor and Thaumanova has had a “Chaos Rift” in them. This could mean I’m right about the reactor. But it also supports the idea that Abaddon fractal could have the same effects in the Mists.
I think now that Thaumanova and Abaddon. Will have the same effects in the Mists and open world. No matter which fractal wins.
Thaumanova: Chaos Rift+ fractal Chaos Rift=Portal to Realm of Torment
Abaddon: Chaos Rift+fractal Chaos Rift=Portal to Realm of Torment
w..what?
I would guess the only reason we can’t get swimwear as town clothes is because Anet hasn’t made any..
Chaos Rifts are portals to the Realm of Torment, summoned by servants of Abaddon.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Chaos_Rift
Realm of Torment
The Realm of Torment, also called the Nightmare Realm, lies in the Mists
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Chaos_Rift
Abaddon had a Chaos Rift in the past.
Reactor currently has one that is connected to Realm of Torment in the Mists.
What would happen when the “Reactor Chaos Rift” is opened in the Mist? Could it create a portal from the past rift to the present one for Gods to enter?
For the same thing to happen in Abaddon. Anet would have to reopen the Chaos Rift in the present.
(edited by Onshidesigns.1069)
The Realm of Torment is already in the Mists.
Where do You come up with this things?
But chaos energy is NOT in the Mists. So reactor explosion would have affects in the Mists overall.
No, really. Seriously – I know You want Reactor to win, I get it. But spread misinformation in every thread doesn’t make Your fractal chances to win better. It only proves You have no idea about game You’re playing or You like to lie.
I see You in almost every thread saying silly bullkitten to show awesomeness of Reactor. Find some interesting REAL lore and quirks to pull people on Your side. Don’t lie.
And hey – by definition everything is in Mists. Asuran technology or not – if it’s created somewhere, it can be part of Mists. Skyhammer to prove that.
The Realm of Torment, also called the Nightmare Realm, lies in the Mists and is connected to the Underworld via the Bone Pits.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Realm_of_Torment
Lore is important to Anet. They would not put chaos energy in the Mists and have nothing interesting happen their.
Thaumanova Reactor
*Chaos energy in the mists!
*Should affect things outside the fractal!
*Unlimited possibilitiesFall of Abaddon
*see a God in the past, in one dungeon, thats it.Anet wants you to pick the EASY one to make.
Really starting to get tired and annoyed at the sheer amount of Thaumanova Reactor propaganda (most of which is essentially the same as the quoted text above) that you seem to post everywhere and then use “It’s just suggestions for if the reactor wins” to justify your mass of posts that boil down to the same ideas, which you use as though they are hard fact.
Code of ConductAvoid frivolous and duplicate postings.
I’ve seen way too much Fall of Abaddon propaganda. Asking to see something people ALREADY KNOW!

So, has anyone noticed that BOTH the fractals are events in Tyrian History that tore the fabric of reality? Reactor is obvious, it tore reality, kitten is still going crazy there, not to mention, and Abbadons tore reality as well, which wasn’t as well known… created a rift between the Realm of Torment and Tyria.
Coincidence? I think not!
I was supporting the Reactor hoping it would tore reality more. But if Abbadons also makes reality turn inside out all over Tyria. Then I don’t care who wins. As long as the open world gets kittened up, I’m happy.
Abbadons isn’t all over, just that one location.
Thats true, also thinking about it. The Realm of Torment is already in the Mists.
But chaos energy is NOT in the Mists. So reactor explosion would have affects in the Mists overall.
Skins are $5-$10, if you buy them outright.
With RNG skins you could spend $100 or more to get the skin.Stop legitimizing this SCAM!
To answer this…
The fact that people WANT things only offered as a chance from a chest, and the fact that they’re WILLING to take that chance, they give up all rights to complain once they click that button. Knowing full well of what you’re getting into, and still doing it, speaks volumes.
Sorry my friend, your “scam” argument holds no water.
Smart players will vote Evon for Council!
Smart players know the Thaumanova Reactor fractal will mix chaos energy with the Mists. Creating unstable space time that would have effects outside FOTM.
It’s already happened. We know what Tyria looks like after this “world altering event” – we play in that world every day!
Space is unstable there. If you put it in the Mists it could create parallel realities.
What about housing? If open world and the mists becomes unstable. Could housing then be placed in the Mists?
So, has anyone noticed that BOTH the fractals are events in Tyrian History that tore the fabric of reality? Yeah, I wonder, which is better, a dungeon about silly Asuras or a god kitten GOD?
The one that could turn space/time inside out and possibly affect other aspects of the game.
Does the election give dungeon runners a advantage? They have the ingame gold to buy the election. And most may vote for Evon based on Fall of Abaddon.
But they don’t seem to realise the potential of the Thaumanova Reactor explosion. And how it could lead to interesting living storylines.
Thaumanova “Chaos Mists Discussion”
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/cutthroat/Thaumanova-Chaos-Mists-Discussion/first#post2464225
The GW underworld “Realm of the Dead” is part the Mists. It’s the realm of the God Grenth. Mad Realm is also within the Mists too.
Maybe Chaos mixed with the Mists. Will allow openings into these realms from in the Mists or open world.
This could lead to more holiday/event content like the Mad King doors. Which were openings to the Mad Realm.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Underworld
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Grenth
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mad_Realm
Some interesting ideas here so far. Hope Anet is reading this.
Seriously, who cares about keys or wps.
Are you really that poor in-game to be all exited for reduced WP costs?
And I doubt anyone here is exited for more RNG keys either. The point is, 4 week price reductions doesn’t matter, neither do silly mini-games, they’re irrelevant, the question should be : *which dungeon is better? *
And, I think we already know the answer for that : Abaddon.
Abaddon is just that “only a dungeon”!
Thaumanova Reactor Explosion dungeon will introduce chaos energy into the Mists and maybe the open world. What will the affect of that be?
Some say we don’t know that chaos energy and the Mists together affect other things in the game. But it is a kitten good idea. And now is the time to sell it to Anet.
report the party leader, and you’re right, anet should give you the relics and the levels.
+1, something needs to be done
PS: make a tldr version, and you’re not really suggesting anything, you’re complaining,
What if something happened to the party leaders computer? I get a blank screen sometimes and need to restart the game.
It’s more than a fractal. Fractals have lore tied to them from the mists. A developer comment and npc dialogue in game. Blatantly says that Thaumanova explosion messed up space time.
Yes, it blatantly says that. Your second sentence is rendered incomprehensible by lack of context, and the first is (as far as any of us really know) a blatant lie. It’s more than a fractal why? Because it gives us some lore? So does the FoA.
The Mists have the past and the future in them. Fractals and what’s in them are part of the Mists.
The Mists MUST be tied to the open world in some way. For fractal to even exist. So if something goes wrong in the Mists. It will have a chance of bleeding into the rest of the game world.
Anet has had enemies come out of the Mist before into the open world. Remember the Halloween doors.
