I changed to idea based on that thread. And posted a new version of it that’s easier to understand. Got a problem with that?
Ok, I mixed up you post with theirs.
What I don’t understand is why some want to grind in level 80 areas when they can enjoy the whole game.
You two "solanu.3784 and Cinder.4865 are just in a race to get to endgame content. what is really tedious and unappetizing is grinding in the save level area game every day.
Nurvus.2891 you care to much about your level. To a low level player they don’t care about your level.
How about a way to identify a player’s strength similar to the color coding. And when you click on them you can see their achievements.
ANet made a mistake by making you think just because a zone below your level that you are now finished with it.
ANet has not done this, not in the slightest. In fact, they’ve stated explicitly that this is not the case, and that they intended, from the start, for players to always be returning to other zones. If this mindset still persists, it is a problem of the player, not ANet.
As for your suggestion, might I ask how gear would be handled? Would it be unchanged? If so, how would I know when I could equip my next piece of gear? Would being in a city reveal my true level? Or are you implying an overhaul of the gear system, too?
Hearts and a outdated leveling system does this unintentionally.
I said above gear would use the color coded system and it’s level would just be hidden. This makes the stats more important than ever.
The same system would there but hidden from the player view. Sure balancing downgraded drops need improvement. But we know that already.
Player need realize the game is not about end game content. The whole world is meant to be played at level 80. ANet made a mistake by making you think just because a zone below your level that you are now finished with it.
Easy-Hiding player/enemy/item levels
Easy-Replacing with color coding based on the current system
This Does not change how the current system works. It just
presents the system differently.
Players need to get rid of there ego, this does that.
On cities, they look like their only 70% done. And ANet did not get everything finished in them.
After reading the replies, I think this could be a quick and easy patch.
Currently, with ANet’s design, there’s no reason they have to continue to raise the level cap, if they desire not to.
More “red” numbered enemies could, currently, spawn in “green” numbered areas as the server population becomes more experienced. There’s nothing stopping ANet from doing this with the current setup.
ANet needs a hidden level or experience cap that can be raised to control how people move throughout the zones in future expansions. It could be 3000 but would not change your strength compared to green enemies. Because this system is still using downscaling.
I think combining this idea with this one I made in another post, would work well.
Karma/Heart vendors also Collector NPC, like the ones in the first GW.
*NPC makes you something if you bring them what they want.
*Add a fee in silver to make it a cash sink.
*Should be unlocked when heart is filled
*Some Collector NPC’s might require items from more than one zone.
*Collector NPC’s will asks for trophies, items, karma items
*a new bank section just for trophies
*Collector NPC’s rewards would also be soulbond.
———-
Waypoint fees would work by EX still.
Future expansions will not have a Advertized raised level cap. It would be experience based on the server side that decides who can play in those zones.
More red enemies can spawn in green areas as the server population becomes more experienced.
On Meta events, should one meta event ever become easier than another?
(edited by Onshidesigns.1069)
“I can kill this red, but not this red, what gives, ANet?”
It’s that way now with levels and bosses. There portrait is just different.
Maybe a option on the waypoint that disables it.
They would just have to guess their level…lol.
This is a interesting idea. To have two skins on the same piece of armor.
Maybe there could be a way to control what skin some other see.
Ex: your guild could see each other fight in city clothing but other players will see the normal skin.
(edited by Onshidesigns.1069)
Hide player level from the player
Guild Wars should not be about what level and zone you are
playing in. It should only be about playing event.
Replace levels for enemies with color coded system.
Red-suicidal
Yellow-Hard to Kill
Green-easy to kill
Armor and items would use the same color coded system. Only
stats are important.
This Idea would not change how the game works but instead
would change the way the game is presented to the player.
A 3 day waiting period for free server transfers would limit this.
@onshidesign
Sounds like a grind just in a disguised and polite way lol.
My question is, why have a chance to obtain high level gear if it has no use?
Farming materials is also a grind, you’re working for something to obtain something.
Add playing in Orr all day long isn’t? This way you can play different events everyday.
And you get to chose your reward.

Making it Guild only housing would not make it a cash sink. And the game needs new cash sinks before waypoint costs can be lowered. It also punishes players who are not ready to join a guild.
High level players need to get back out into the rest of tyria. But they need more of a reason to play in other areas.
My idea here would help solve this by giving you a reason to play in low level zones.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Make-farming-fun-with-Karma-Collector-NPC-s/first#post412423
Would add the Collector NPC option to the karma vendors. This would turn farming into a fun game in all zones.
Agree, I wanted to suggest this on a post about a new playable water race.
Most of the storyline instances look like they are in the outside world but are really just instanced. Housing will probably be the same.
If you are playing event you will have some items you do not want. That don’t sell for much. But if you go to a collector npc. He might have something cool to give you for your junk.

waypoint ideas:
1. waypoint travel sales to selected areas.
2. free waypoint tickets as drops
3. waypoint buffs
4. waypoint credits towards a free waypoint ticket.
5. free travel to home city
Drops for downscaled players:
*More chance of higher level item drops “1 out of 10 kills”
This idea will not change how karma vendors work. It would just add a new option too them.
These ideas will give downgraded players more of a reason to farm a low level zone and create meta events.
(edited by Onshidesigns.1069)
Glad someone like it. But If AN does not get more downgraded players to play in lower level areas. The Few New Players will not be able to create any meta events.
This isn’t Wow, this isn’t guild wars 1, it’s a new and unique mmo. Why do all mmo’s have to fit the mold why can’t be one be new and fresh.
The mystic forge is a Obvious gold sink, of course your going to feel like your losing.
Also the legendary’s aren’t meant to be obtained by everyone in a month. They are a long term goal, I personally like the grind, and would not wanted it handed to me.
I agree
Gold sinks are good. We need more of them to prevent inflation. Also there no monthly fee to pay for the game.
Many only complaint is to many players in Orr. There needs to be more of a ascentive to play in lower level areas.
My ideas here would help.
Make karma vendors also Collector NPC’s, like the ones in the first GW.
*NPC makes you something if you bring them what they want.

Drops for downscaled players:
1. Add better trophies for downscaled players
2. More chance of higher level item drops “1 out of 10 kills”
Does anyone understand how this idea will give downscaled players more rewards for playing in lower level areas?
I didn’t even read all of it the first time and came up with what your describing.
This just gave me an Idea.
An in game bulletin board where people can post things like meta event run times, and crafting services. There would have to also be a fee and the ability to report someone spanning/bots.
Any Collector NPC’s rewards would also be soulbond.
This idea will give players a reason to play in low level areas more.
Also would like to add this suggestion
*a new bank section just for trophies because Collector NPC would want a lot of them.
Make karma vendors also Collector NPC’s, like the ones in the first GW.
*NPC makes you something if you bring them what they want.
*Add a fee in silver to make it a cash sink.
*Should be unlocked when heart is filled
*Some Collector NPC’s might require items from more than one zone.
*Collector NPC’s will asks for trophies, items, karma items
How about a Wyvern Dragon, like this one.
http://www.zazzle.com/manga_wyvern_dragon_customize_background_print-228921817942232670
Also dyeable underwear.
Karma/Hearts vendors:
Make karma vendors also Collector NPC’s like the ones in
the first GW.
*Offers rewards if you bring them what they want.
*If for a silver fee would make it a cash sink.
*Should be unlocked
*Some might require items from more than one zone.
*Collector NPC asks for trophies and other items
Adding this: Some Collector NPC’s may ask for karma items in their list of things to bring them.
Hearts should be removed. Then make it all about unlocking the karma vendor.
Here’s a idea I made in another post.
Karma/Hearts vendors:
Make karma vendors also Collector NPC’s like the ones in
the first GW.
*Offers rewards if you bring them what they want.
*If for a silver fee would make it a cash sink.
*Should be unlocked
*Some might require items more than one zone.
*Collector NPC ask for trophies
Ways to encourage people to play in low level zones.
Drops for downscaled players:
1. Add better trophies for downscaled players
2. More chance of higher level item drops “1 out of 10 kills”
Buffs for downscaled players:
Swiftness by karma vendors for downscaled players
Karma/Hearts vendors:
Make karma vendors also Collector NPC’s like the ones in
the first GW.
*Offers rewards if you bring them what they want.
*If for a silver fee would make it a cash sink.
*Should be unlocked
*Some might require items from more than one zone.
*Collector NPC asks for trophies and other items
Crafting:
1. More low level ingredients in high level recipes
2. Add furniture crafting for player houses in the future.
waypoint ideas:
1. waypoint travel sales to selected areas.
2. free waypoint tickets as drops
3. waypoint buffs
4. waypoint credits towards a free waypoint ticket.
5. free travel to home city
Other ideas
Lottery cash sink"70%-90% goes to winners, winning based
on level"
Same with the Thief class. I want to be a Thief thinking the story would reflect that. But instead, I seem to be some kind of a hero.

Selling them in the gem shop is just like paying to use a waypoint. I do like the idea as boss drop or in some black lion chests. With a shorter time limit “1 to 2 hours”. So players have to conserve them.
This would be great for fan sites and social networking to promote the game.
I’ve suggested the same thing but more like a drop down menu with submenus.
ex.
dances-dance 1, dance 2
sitting- sit pose 1, sit pose 2
talking-yes, no, maybe
This is a asian MMO. We should have more revealing armor!
The camera does look better above the players head. And would play the game like this if Areananet had this camera with gamepad support.
It would also add a whole new player base to the game.
They can disable emotes near bank and trading post vendors.
I would also like to dye my underwear to match my clothing. Even if it’s not in every color.
I think the cities are unfinished and it is on the to do list.
1. Npc have a cloud symbol when you mouse over them, but they only greet you.
2. unfinished mini games
3. Player houses will be added
4. Guild halls may have something to do with the cities
5. areas that look like they are under construction
I think 6 month from now this will be a different game.
Sometimes I attack animals and lead them to the bad guys I want to kill. Then I watch them fight each other to lower their health.
