Who thinks we should Areananet reverse the changes made by ascended items.

*Making exotic items stats the highest.

It’s probably a very low end infusion since we know they can be increased to go with the infinitely scaling dungeon.

No one will have the time it grind ascended items for their alts.

Reverse the changes made by ascended items by making exotic items stats the highest with one infusion slot. But only make the infusion useful in some endless dungeons and some future content

Theirs more progression with this because players will want to infuses all their exotics. Giving them more tactical gameplay in dungeons and future content.

Players will also want to upgrade their alts exotics with infusions. But can’t if they had to find ascended items for each. (I want my alts of each race to have good items too.)

But with ascended, the player is limited to only to the items they find.

Ascended gear that works for everybody

Some players really want “vertical progression.” Others only play GW2 to avoid it. Clearly Anet wants to please both, but the current approach is the stuff of many thousands of posts of displeasure.

So, how ’bout you just let us have our cake and eat it, too?

Suggestion: Make ascended items exotic+, with exotic-level stats in “normal” zones and extra power-up stats in dungeons (or just the Fractals-style top-end dungeon content, if that works better for difficulty scaling).

For example,

Red Ring of Death
Ascended rarity
+72 Power
+51 Precision
+4% Critical Damage
Ring
Required Level: 80
+32 Power +4% Critical Damage +18 Precision

… becomes…

Red Ring of Death
Ascended rarity
+92 Power (that’s 67 + 25, same as exotic Ruby)
+63 Precision (that’s 48 + 15, same as exotic Ruby)
+6% Critical Damage (that’s 3 + 3, same as exotic Ruby)
Ring
Required Level: 80
Dungeon power (or whatever you want to call it): +12 Power +2% Critical Damage +6 Precision (these are just the stat gap between RRoD and the standard exotic Ruby)

Doesn’t mess with WvW. Doesn’t make overland adventure zones progressively easier and easier as you release new ascended items. On the one hand, ascended items become much more clearly an “optional” thing for hardcore players; on the other hand, you can go totally crazy on the dungeon stats — +300 Power and +12% Critical Damage? Enh, why not! — without breaking every other part of the game, which I suspect may appeal to hardcore dungeon grinders more than small incremental advantages.

I agree the no stats should be better then exotics. With a infusion slot for dungeons. Players can then upgrade all their exotic skins with a gem and each type of infusion.

Add different types of infusions to your exotics will make the game more tactical.

I don’t see why as you can apply a skin over and over again as many times as you want with Transmutation Stones.

If you buy a skin and put it on your Exotics, they get yourself Ascended gear, you can just transfer the skin with a Transmutation Stone.

It’s the same thing people do now when they wear their skins at lower levels. They just keep using Transmutation Stones to keep transferring the skin from gear to gear.

The Ascended gear may be too rare and look too good to just put anther look on it.

So…. then you choose the new look if you like it. If you don’t, then keep your current skin. I don’t see the issue here sorry.

If people like the store skins, they will buy them. Just like they are doing now. No amount if different gears will change that. It is all personal preference.

Some people want more then one look and not to be penalized for it.

People will not buy the gem store skin they want until they have a ascended item to transfer it to.

If ascended items have cool skins in the future, will anyone want to transfer a gem store skin on that item?

Who will buy a cool item skin in the gem store if they can’t use it in the new dungeons.

1.5 to 10g for the cheap ones. If you want more then 1,000 weapon damage it’s more.

I’m talking about a full set. 2 weapons, 6 armor parts, 2 rings, 2 earrings and 1 necklace.

You cannot get exotic jewelry for less than 2.5g piece. You might be able to get some under level 80 exotic armor for less than 2g each though. Not sure about weapons now.

Why you people want all the best things now?

Running in Rare gear means you have Major sigils/runes. Take into consideration the Exotic stat difference in addition to the Superior Sigils/runes you’re missing out on.

My masterworks backpiece with exotic jewel disagrees.

Buy a cheap one and and a good upgrade item.

What? XD The 25-30g price tag was for the cheapest exotics one can buy.

1.5 to 10g for the cheap ones. If you want more then 1,000 weapon damage it’s more.

It’s hard to get legendaries with no exotics. And, it will be hard to get ascended items with no exotics. So it is worth it to get exotics.

Baseless speculation. If you can get ascended items with an exotic MF set, you can get them with a non MF rare set.

It will take more time and you will die more. Besides exotics are cheap.

It’s hard to get legendaries with no exotics. And, it will be hard to get ascended items with no exotics. So it is worth it to get exotics.

AN needs a way to upgrade exotics to have a infusion slot in the future. And a way to increase their power to ascended over time. So exotics are still useful.

Sorry no yours is the faulty one as the new gear will impact everything already in game. Or did you not read the fact that Legendaries will be upgraded to the level of the best tier gear. So please enlighten me how that doesn’t affect the game as a whole.

No point in arguing whose faulty, I was merely saying how I saw the update to be. I’ve lost ambition for even attempting to get a Legendary, something about impossibilities does not strike me fancy. The rest of the game is gonna remain the same as far as we know. Current things will not get magically harder because there are more powerful items to attain. And the game is honestly fairly easy currently. It’ll just make things more fair with the new stuff they are introducing. We currently will not be kittened, or nerfed at all I didn’t think.

I wonder how many Legendary items a player can get while trying to get a Ascended item.

Guilds and groups will now be requiring players to have a gear requirement to even play a dungeon with them.

Instead of adding a new tier of items to go deeper into the dungeon. AN could add buffs along the way that would stack in the dungeon. Increasing your states the deeper you go.

Have I got it all wrong ???? I’ve read that this gear will only be good inside the new dungeon………. That won’t change anything outside this dungeon, you will still use your other armor outside the dungeon, and even if it’s good outside the dungeon the added power is probably minimal, like between Exotics and Legendary right now….

PLEASE STOP GOING CRAZY ! We need to learn more about this before we can judge……

Infusion slot is the only part that is dungeon only. The rest of the stats works outside of the dungeon.

If the increased stats are outside of the dungeon. Then it will lead to a increased level cap and level 90 zones.

What’s the point of Ascended Gear that can only be used in fractal dungeons? This new dungeon is suppose to get harder as you play it. But Ascended Gear makes the dungeon easier. Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of the new dungeon.

This game doesn’t have a monthly fee. Gear treadmills will cost AN money because players will grind for their gear. Using up server bandwidth and not ever spending any real money in the cash shop.

Add a “Trophies Collection Tab” to the game in the future. The word Trophy does not imply junk.

Also Make the Trophies useful bringing back “Collector NPC’s”.
*Collector NPC’s will make you a item for the mats they want.
*put one “Collector NPC” in each zone or one in every city.
*Sense they require trophies, make the weapons and armor inspired the enemies you kill.

Music, art, leveling have all been praised again and again, so I am going to discuss the common complaints people seem to have in Guild Wars 2.

Legendary Weapons are really just Rare Exotics anyways. I don’t want every new skin to be limited to just Legendary Weapons.
