The flames are two dimensional images as particle effects. A setting that can adjust the Hue/Saturation for particle colors. Would give you more color options.
My suggestion is to give players who log-in 30 minutes before the servers “daily reset” a
“1 hour time extension” to complete that daily. This will be for players who haven’t logged-on in the last 12 hours.
This gives players who have RL things to do. The chance to complete their daily at the last minute.
Again I just think it would be fine to sell the ticket on the gem store for about 2000 to 3000 gems for those that want to spend that kind of cash, as well as, have them in the BLC for those that want to open them and try to get it cheaper than the listed price. But right now the drop rate is the most horrendous I have seen in any game with a cash shop.
3000 gems is over $35.00. How about a cash only option of $5.00 a skin instead.
Fellow guildie opened 200 chests yesterday and nothing. Then decided to open 5 more today and got 2
Could there be DR on chests?
A decent solution would be just to have a higher chance to get PARTS of a token like 1/8. Get four 1/8s of a token put it in mf get a 1/4 token, get four 1/4 tokens place in mf you get a full fused token. This way they can still make decent bank and people will evetually get their fused wep (you would still have a chance at a full fused token as it is right now, it’s just those that are not so lucky can eventually get a fused token as well).
Yes but this makes too much sense. Anet would never implement it.
Don’t like the idea because it does not guarantee everyone will get the fused weapons at a fair price. Some unlucky people will still spend alot and end up with no fused weapon.
What if the gem store had two types of currencies “Gems and cash”?
Items bought with Gems
Items bought with Cash only
*Only “Living story” skins would be sold cash only “Ex. Flame and Frost weapon skins”
*Gem cards could be used for cash only items
This idea is a alternative to putting skins only in the BL gambling chests. Anet does this to make money back from people who never buy gems, but use in-game currency to buy all gem store items.
I can’t blame them for wanting to make a profit on new skins by putting them in gambling chests. But it’s better that we can buy them outright. Even if it’s only with real money.
(edited by Onshidesigns.1069)
This is what Anet gets for putting skins in gambling chests.
Where did they say that these skins were going to be a common item found in the chests? Oh wait, they didn’t.
The community has been asking for skins to buy outright. But instead we get gambling chests.
This is not about giving players who like to gamble something to work for. It’s about Anet taking advantage of those people to line their own pockets.
Gambling addiction is a disability that Anet should not exploit off of.
Maybe you should go after casinos and lottos first, considering they sucker a lot more people and pay out a lot worse than anything a.net could ever dream up.
Also you do realize you can get bl keys for free, right? “will be nerfed soon, Anet does not want you to create and delete characters to farm keys”
casinos are required to pay back 75% of the money they take in. But most pay back more “95%”. It keep customers at there casinos and not their competition.
Not in Pennsylvania. I’m not talking about making characters to farm keys, I’m talking about the ones you get from area completion and possibly with your daily. No reason to buy keys other than that since 99% of the things in BL chests suck and the extra 1% aren’t worth real money.
They drop very rarely for area completion/daily for me.

uhm, last time i looked, Anet is a company…and a company wants profits….
imagine with me, a land in which Anet gives everyone as much gold as they want to buy stuff in the in game store….or a way to get every skin in the game
how much money is anet making…to continue their plans of delivering content every month?
zero
that means NCsoft starts laying people off to cut back on labor
you guys want content, which doesn’t just come out of thin air, but you also want to aim the crosshairs at anet every time they try to make some money
Good companies make their customers happy by providing good products at a reasonable price with minimal profit. This insures that the customer is more likely to do repeat business with that company.
When companies start to bleed their customers dry. It only creates a short term increase in profits. Customers wise up and move on to do business with other companies.
When “NCsoft starts laying people”, it will be so their executives can still receive their corporate bonuses.
If H&R block ever stops screwing up taxes for people I’ll try and get a couple hundred boxes and do a test.
I’ll start with the obligatory, ‘your first mistake is letting H&R Block do your taxes.’
Okay, now on to the subject.
Here’s the results of your experiment; Anet just collected a bunch of cash for an extremely rare chance at weapon skin in a computer game. Hell, you probably just financed the entire cost to produce the asset.
As long as people continue to drops loads of $$ into Anets coffers for the BLTC gambling scam, then there is zero incentive for Anet to ever stop the practice.
It looks like they have made thousands just from the responders to this thread alone.
That’s why need to convince Anet that many smaller sales at cheaper prices. Is more profitable the a fewer sales at higher prices.
“Few sales at high prices” leads to a loss in the customer base.
“Many sale at low prices” increases the customer base.I disagree slightly. Both models can work, like comparing Wal Mart to Ikea. For fashionable things people are willing to spend more. For everyday living people are willing to pay what they “need” to, to enjoy or simply get by. By no means is an MMO something I would say people are playing and paying to “get by”. As the MMO itself costs money to purchase, and the microtransactions support its development.
I see gem purchases as extravagant costs, as things we in no way whatsoever need to enjoy the game. While it is true that a low cost can improve sales, like I said Wal Mart works this well. I disagree because you can buy gems with gold, which does not fund arenanet. So lowering gem costs would lower profits they use to sustain the game.
Anet one set of skins buyable with gems.
And anther set that is cash only. Just make the cash only items good with a smaller selection.
If they have to be in chests. I want the odds of every item that drops from those chests. And if more chests are opened then the odds posted for each item. You then receive the items did not drop within those odds in my mail for free.

i love that people knew BEFORE this game was released that all the stuff on the gem shop was gonna be cosmetic. Lo and behold, it all is! The description in the update notes says “Rare chance” and people still try 200 times and then whine incessantly when they don’t hit the jackpot. I for one am superstoked that they are account bound so that people aren’t tempted to gamble to sell them for a lot of money. I think this is a better system to protect people with tendencies toward gambling addiction that can’t help themselves.
I would much rather be able to choose the weapon skin I want, rather than waste all my money gambling for it. There are 16 available weapons. What if I only want one of them?
Leave them account bound, Just let me choose the one I want.
You get to choose, you get a ticket and purchase the skin you want.
if your lucky and spend months worth of subscription fees
Opened 43 chest and got my token. Also got charr backpiece an pink quaggan. Ihope they keep these fused tokens in the chest. Something this good should be hard to obtain and give the player a sense of joy and relief when they finally get one.
1 weapon skin token, charr backpiece, pink quaggan
How many gems would that be if bought outright? About 1500 to 2000 gems
How many gems is 43 chests? little over 3870 gems
Of course Anet wants you to break out that platinum Visa and gamble away!! I love how the white knights of Anet will be protecting their precious company with defenses like “you dont need the skins anyways” and “you can use ingame gold”.
RNG for accomplishing a dungeon or event is one thing but making the skin available ONLY via BLC gambling is just bad.
BAD BAD BAD.Actually it’s GOOD GOOD GOOD for business.
Remember this isn’t a sub-fee game, the fact that you can get these with gold instead of real money is generous enough. The game has to be supported somehow.
If Anet doesn’t want players to use “Gems earned in-game” to buy these skins. Then they can only charge real money for them “$5.00 each”.
As for it being good business. ESO beta starts soon
Weapon Skins in Black Lion Chests
These are the first really good weapon skins since Halloween. And those Halloween skins were in the kittening BL chests too. Does Anet like kitten off their customers? This is just pure greed on Anet’s part.
I’m am willing to buy some of the weapon skins outright.
It’s amazing how many of you complain about how they do weapon skins in BL Chests WHEN YOU PLAY THE GAME FOR FREE! My god, content doesn’t magically make itself.
No one is complaining about the weapon skins being for sale. But many people are complaining about the way Anet is selling the skins.

Reduced quickness from 100% attack speed to 50%
As we push to improve balance in both PvE and PvP, a few mechanics in the game will be receiving updates to promote fun and balanced play. In the past, quickness has granted double the action speed normally available to players. In PvP, this speed gives most players almost no chance to react to incoming abilities and allows for massive spike damage in extremely short periods of time. In PvE, the increased attack speed can trivialize a lot of content that would otherwise provide a good challenge. Therefore, we are reducing the speed that quickness allows by half of its current potential while slightly increasing the duration on player-activated skills.
Apparently Anet thinks slowing the action down is good for the game? I disagree with this. Fast movement makes for a fun game.
Housing in R###
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UV5XxPXNUUA
Housing is instanced in the open world. Just like Personal Story missions in Guild Wars 2.
The housing system in Rift is the easiest to implement in this game.
You telling me your testers tracked down and killed 6 diffrent targets within 15 mins? that sounds completly unrealistic unless you have upward of a hundred people searching at the same time.
Try 30.
Did those 30 play in the same room? And did they talk to each other instead of using the map chat?
Spicy Pumpkin Cookies are a cheap alternative to having to buy tonics and/or town clothes.
Spicy Pumpkin Cookie
1 Ball of Cookie Dough
1 Ghost Pepper
3 Bowl of Candy Corn Glaze
1 Bowl of Pumpkin Pie Filling
30% Magic find
+70 Condition Damage
+15% Experience from kills.
5 Piece of Candy Corn Almond Brittle
1 Bag of Sugar
3 Almond
15 Piece of Candy Corn
Nourishment (45m): 18% Magic Find
10% Gold from monsters
+15% Experience from kills
About a 1/3 chance of turning the player into a candy corn monster for 3 or 5 min.
I haven’t tried all the halloween cooking recipes. I assume each one turns the player into a different Halloween themed enemy.

Well how come reptilian isn’t original I don’t see any mmorpg having that race while line age, wow and other mmorpg games has elves which isn’t original anymore and people still against it. People really don’t like reptiles I see. Reptiles are the source of dragons how it can’t be cool. Tengu has a look of a human with wings it’s not that original, maybe the creature but looks nothing to it.
Ema.4953@ I didn’t even what dr.who and their reptiles aren’t even close to my imagination. I guess people can’t figure out what imagination I want to reveal.
Azala Yar.7693@ Skritt doesn’t look important, thinking about an island with dinosaurs can make a big expansion with new world boss.
Sirius.4510@It looks lame because I drew it a bit wrongly just use your imagination and you’ll figure it out. that race looks strong and important, it has way more force than charr.
ESO Argonians
I like the idea but how would you point and click things? Menu, inventory, enemies, npc’s, etc.
Add one button to switch between modes in game.
I agree with this, I was about to post a thread about this but I found yours so, why bother. I’ll just post here what I wanted to post in my thread.
“Over the Shoulder” Camera Option
What I mean is using your mouse to move your character and the camera, like Third-Person Shooters. (I don’t remember correctly what this mechanic is called but, it doesn’t have to be over the shoulder it can be just behind the character.)
I don’t know if you are familiar with the MMORPG called “RaiderZ” but in RaiderZ they have this mechanic and it makes gameplay so much easier and less painful for your hand.
In Guild Wars 2 I use the right mouse button to both look around the environment AND to target enemies. Problem is, I have to do this ALL THE TIME and my hand gets pretty strained from it not to mention my finger. :L
So, Arena Net, if you can, not saying soon but in the near future please add this as an option, I would be forever greatful!
I would like both the “over the head” and “over the shoulder” view options. For me I prefer “over the head” in TPS shooters because it doesn’t limit my view.
On when the chest resets.
I don’t think it would be good for the guaranteed rare chest to reset on the servers time. Because like other people said, it would still create a overflow.
The rare chest should instead reset based on when the chest was opened.
Why would anyone not want to play every class and race in the game?
I have 8 characters fully exped and geared. Problems? Most of my characters have additional backpack slots and my bank have all possible slots. Problems?
Just wondering – what is your personal problem if I or someone else will be able to change his OWN character race? No, really, what problems for YOU?
If no any problems (but the fact is – there is NO any problems to the another players) – why you angry here? Envy? Seems like.Anet make race change kit please. let it will cost 2k gems – it will be OK.
Who said I angry but you?
A race change would not be easy for Anet to develop. It would require changing the stats, skills, traits, equipment, personal story, some achievements. Any errors in the system could result in unwanted changes in your account.
I think race change affects too many aspects of the game. To waste Anets resources on it.
Why would anyone not want to play every class and race in the game?
Large mounts are a eyesore.
I do like the idea of small cosmetic mounts. With a temp speed boost at the fastest normal swiftness. They could have costume brawl abilities and new emotions.
Cosmetic mount racing game with costume brawl abilities.
The dungeon storyline is part of the personal story. And it’s the only part of the personal story that does not allow us to play solo with NPC allies.
We should be allowed to use Henchmen in the form of our personal story allies. In the storyline mode of the dungeon.
If they are just moving the guaranteed rare to anther chest. Then you only get that rare once a day.
The event chest will not included the guaranteed rare, but will still have a chance rares dropping.
What ever the your loot is now in the event chest. Subtract one rare from each chest. Then add one rare to the total for the day.
People are farming the same event chest too much.
The game engine can not handle the numbers of players farming these chests.
Reducing the loot is the only option for Anet!
If renamed weapons/armor are only for the player that owns them to view. Then there should be no restrictions on how the player can name them.
I think Anet needs take out the WvW tasks in the PvE dailies. And then reward WvW/ PvP players with a laurel for completing PvP dailies. Giving players two laurels for playing the whole game.
“Earn 3 skill points” daily punishes players how have map completion.
The daily that requires players to “kill 5 veterans in a specific zone”, conflicts with dailies that want you to kill X number of enemies in anther zone.
I know this is a horid response….
But if you want superheroes play champions online or what that other superhero game is called. lol. Will say again that tightfitting armortypes and clothing would be lovely… actual latex suits might not quite fit in, but could make something slightly similar.
It could be shinny leather if not latex. Their needs to be some tight fitting medium that has some shininess and reflections.
Reminds me of Spiderman…I don’t know how or why….but it does!
My idea could lead to future superhero town clothing items.
*Super hero capes (after they make normal armor capes)
*Super hero like abilities for costume brawl
*underwear on the outside
How about option to chose from a list of character screens.
*Race themed character screens
*enemy themed character screens
*dark landscapes with scary/spooky music
The manifesto stated that instead of competing with other players for kills, you’d both get the full reward, to promote teamwork.
On my server however, guilds seem to adhere a policy of “don’t tell the other guild where the bounty is so they won’t steal our kill”. That way, when they spend an hour seeking out bounties, they at least won’t have to suffer another guild stealing their target.
If nothing else, this should be the reason to change the bounties.
At least a reply, dagnabbit!
Isn’t this the point of bounty? The first find the bounty receives the reward. It promotes competition between guilds.
You could always ask non guild players in the map, if they seen a bounty. And reward them in game with some gold once it is killed.
Not this again…
All the other thread suggesting mounts, wanted them for movement speed, not for vanity. My idea is the complete opposite, no movement speed bonus but purely vanity, it’s also something that Anet must be considering, seeing how they released a mount in the form of the Flying Broomstick.
Actually I guess I am the hipster here cause I suggested this before it was cool.

I must be one too.
Anther Mount Post, Cosmetic
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Anther-Mount-Post-Cosmetic/first#post1276216
There is a limit of one chest per day per toon
per boss – 1 toon can get 1 chest each from different bosses, yes?
Add a account wide limit of 3 chests from each boss within a 24hr a day.
Easy fix is that you can’t get chests from open world bosses while guesting. 99% of everyone’s problems with guesting instantly disappear.
People are showing up at the chests more now because of better loot. Each map isn’t able to hold even a tiny fraction of a server’s population. If you’re in a server that hits overflow in LA even semi-frequently, than it’s no surprise that people are hitting overflow on the chest events. I don’t think guesting really does much of anything. The loot change and the guesting change hit at roughly the same time, so I think people are making the wrong correlation.
Anet could also limit the number of times any player can loot a chest a day. Like they do with jumping puzzles.
The paintball gun could have a costume brawl version, that is craft-able.
If they do add more cosmetic mounts, keep then small. I don’t like seeing 3 to 5 players on huge mounts blocking the road.
But for people to want the collect them. There needs to be anther use for them like costume brawl, anther mini-game for them (jousting), mount emotes, fun skills.
Fights with 3 to 5 smaller flying dragons in GW2 would make a good meta event. Players with no ranged weapons would need a way the attack them while in the air. The event could be scaled by adding more dragons as players join the fight.
