The Achievement is a lie if there are extra secrets to discover.
I think the maps should be made in a way that this type of achievement is impossible. By making the player make A or B decisions. That can not be reversed on that go-around.
New JP’s will be made in the future.
I don’t like completion achievements in mmo game. I implies that you’re finished and there’s nothing more to discover. If Anet wants a living and evolving world, these achievement shouldn’t exist.
Elitism
*Selfish people who want you to play their way.
*Grinders who only do speed runs and don’t play for fun.
*Think they a hardcore when they skip over content to reach a chest.
*Rich from speed farming dungeons and do not buy from the gem store.
*Thinks players are impressed with their gear when they really don’t care.
*Obsessed with meanless achievements gained through grinding.
*Approach the game as if it was a job.
Should the SAB have completion achievements? Ex: collecting all the bubbles in a zone.
I think It should be a mystery if we have found all the secrets to the SAB. So players will continue search for new undiscovered secrets to the SAB.
No completion achievements is also good for the SAB development team. So they can update old zones with new things to find. By making the zones evolve over time.
As with any change we are aware of the concerns about titles, nameplates, and screen clutter and we are investigating what we can do about all of these things to try and improve the experience now that you can see so many people on screen.
Why should enemy nameplates and names be seen, without mousing over them? People should not know the positions of enemies from seeing their nameplate.
How about a option to only show blue dots for Allies.
They paid into the system. If they want to spend their SSI on a game, that’s their business. It’s never was the governments money.
SS is unconstitutional anyways, It taxation without representation because many people will not get their money back from the government.
Just because someone has more things does not always mean they are rich. They could be in debt. About to lose their job or business. What responsible rich person would just waste money on a game?
Anet could make the sparkles above the bodies brighter.
I find loot is very hard to see in shallow water.
Greatswords do have more good skins. But I find some of them to be way to over sized and comical. And some of the one hand swords might as well have been Greatswords because of their size.
I wanted to be a villein. But Anet thinks we all want to be heros.
Consoles have mouse and keyboard support. Few games take advantage of this.
The keys are like scratchoff lottery tickets. Most of the time, you get nothing. Sometimes you get your money back, and it encourages you to keep trying. Once in a great while you hit something worthwhile.
Overall, it’s a fool’s game to begin playing in the first place.
The RNG skins are the REASON why they’re selling keys in the first place. Take them away and it would be like removing every prize above $50 from the scratchoff tickets, what’s the point to buying them if you can’t ever win something worth looking for?
Anet never advertised BLC as a lottery.
Again, why should they be increased?
Because the cheapkittens don’t like to buy them. There is no other reason.
No, Anet is cheap for not giving players a better deal for their money.
Most of what’s in these is temporary junk. What is good in chests drop too rarely and are only purchasable through the chests.
I suggest that Anet adds items already available in other way, to the chests.
*chance of any item from the gem store dropping in the chests.
*Rare chance Meta event skins could also be dropped from the chests.
*Ascended rings could also have a rare chance of dropping
If the price of keys was dropped to about 50 gems each, and more useful items dropped from them. Anet would sell many more keys.
Less than 30 chest from using the same 3 characters.
These are only from chest drops.
1 staff
1 sword
1 greatsword
1 longbow
about 150 unused Bauble Bubbles
I always start from zone 1 and play the game normally. No deleting characters. I kill everything in my way. And I try to get my 500 bubbles.
But I seem to be lucky with chest in this game. I had the Final Rest drop after about 7 tries after learning it drops from the SB.

There will be more dark areas in further worlds and other uses as well. We planned out the entire 4 worlds and all the skills and upgrades at the very beginning of the project so while some things might seem kinda pointless or under-powered now, they won’t always be.
I do not need the candle in any of the current dark areas in the SAB.
The lost woods area could be 50% darker.
Also make the candle burn small bushes to reveal hidden stuff.
Levels are only for traits, skills and better armor in this game.
I think the princess should have been Queen Jennah in 8 or 16 bit form. And instead of her being kidnaped. She would be under a sleeping curse, like in zelda 2/Sleeping beauty.
But then the Charr will desecrate her body whilst she sleeps!
So will some humans
I think the princess should have been Queen Jennah in 8 or 16 bit form. And instead of her being kidnaped. She would be under a sleeping curse, like in zelda 2/Sleeping beauty.
moto mentions that he’s testing it in rata sum but the and implies it could be in other places
If it is in other places, I hope the games are different in each of them.
Ex:
SAB 1. adventure game
SAB 2. Fighting game
SAB 3. Doom like Shooter
A dungeon group finder is needed because:
*Some players don’t like stupid arguments about what gear they have equipped.
*Some people do not want to do speed runs of dungeons
*It’s save time
*no one complains about playing with random people in SPvP
1. It will give people a reason to enter their personal home instances.
2. It doesn’t split the community between Rata Sum and Lion’s Arch.
3. It keeps the old school gaming feel. Pretty much anyone who owned a pre-internet gaming system knows that you had to invite friends over to your place if you want to get any co-op done.
I’m not sure I agree with your idea. I like the fact the SAB spits the community between Rata Sum and Lion’s Arch.
I think every city needs mini games like the SAB. So the Community is distributed evenly among all the cities.
The way it is now players can find groups easier, because all player races are in one spot. But in your idea you would only see players of your own race waiting outside your home instance.
It would help a lot if the achievement for collecting every Bauble in a stage, tracked them as you collected them. Right now its always stuck on 0%, and jumps to 100% after collecting them all. It would help if we could see how many Baubles were left in a stage.
I agree with everything except this.
A achievement for collecting all the Bauble’s in a stage would imply map completion. I don’t want feel like I discovered all the secrets in a stage. In my opinion it should be a mystery if there is any secrets left to find.
The forums white background gives me motion sickness.
Hm… sounds fun. Not sure how this could fit into our current plans, but I’ll think about it.

Thanks for the link to your artwork. Awesome job on it.
Have you ever played King’s Field 2 on the Playstation? It’s a very dark Zelda/Alice in Wonderland type of game. If you do decide to make a LOZ open world zone map in the SAB. Put some King’s Field 2 stuff in it “dark gothic atmosphere”.
Here’s the youtube video of King’s Field 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UDJLBiWTr4
Another idea is to have the normal GW2 enemies and NPC’s star in this map.
*Have the story revolve around saving Queen Jennah. Not from being kidnaped. Make it like Zelda 2. Where Zelda is playing the role of sleeping beauty.
*Add fairy tail elements to the story.
(edited by Onshidesigns.1069)
Developing the SAB is good for GW2 as a whole. Because it reminds Anet’s
staff of past successful ideas in classic games. That can be introduced
into the normal GW2 gameplay.
I believe SAB will make the Anet staff more creative in creating future non-SAB content.
(edited by Onshidesigns.1069)
If you exit the SAB after fighting a boss but before it teleports to next area. The camera will stay stuck in zoomed out in boss mode.
To fix this you have to fight a boss again. And let the game teleport you to the next area. This resets the camera to it normal mode.
Orr needs more types of enemies. Why should Orr only have mostly only Risen?
Elemental-What if some smarter Risen could summon these?
fleshreavers-Cannibalize the corpses of the dead. Shouldn’t they be a
problem of the Risen in Orr.
Demons/Imp
Ghost-With all the war going on in Orr. There has to be Ghosts on the
dead who did not become Risen.
Insects-With all the undead Risen and dead bodies. Insects have plenty
of food in Orr.
I think the cube style of the SAB is also inspired from the Asura architecture. The architecture of the Asura must of reminded Anet staff of these old games. When they came up with the idea of the SAB.
Check the inside of one of the trees in the 2nd part.
Also the SAB is free and considered art. You are paying for the retail game. Anet isn’t obligated to give us this content for free.
The items sold in the gem store are not for use in the SAB and look unique enough to sell.
As per wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_infringement), and I quote:
“Copyright infringement is the unauthorized use of works under copyright, infringing the copyright holder’s “exclusive rights”, such as the right to reproduce, distribute, display or perform the copyrighted work, spread the information contained within copyrighted works, or to make derivative works. "
There has always been one major loophole in the copyright infringement act and it basically is summed up in the bolded words in the above paragraph:
Derivative Work- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derivative_work
What is considered “derivative work”. IMO, my examples clearly show derivate work of copyright material. Then there is this – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_v._LaMacchia
Where it basically said that you can use copyright material as long as you don’t make profit – but isn’t ANet making profit out of GW2 which includes content that contains derivate work of copyright material?I would really like an ANet representative to respond at this stage. Perhaps they have gotten written/oral permission, but I don’t know this. Just curious.
You can’t copyright everyting in a game. You can copyright unique aspects of a game such as the story.
Nintendo wants 3d party developers to have some freedom in their game design.
The key word in your post is “inspired”. Without inspirations from previous works of art or inventions, there would be no progress in society. The dark ages are a example of this.
Anet should add more 5 and 10 baubles to the SAB.
Hmm, while I disagree with some of your more specific requests (16-24 bit? what does that even mean?), I would love to see either some kind of level or alternate “quest mode” in Super Adventure Box that offers an “open world” exploration/adventure style of gameplay reminiscent of Zelda.
Actually, can you imagine if Moto introduced Tyria’s first MMO? I’m picturing something visually similar to the current Super Adventure Box, but our characters run around in it using special avatars that actually fit the graphical style. It could be a cute, small-scale, simplistic representation of 8-bit Tyria, complete with Rytlock Brimstone in Raybans. Or, it could also partially poke fun at old MMORPG tropes (quest log with stuff like “kill 10 boars” in it, etc.)
Extra bonus points if some NPC comes by the Super Adventure Box and complains that Moto isn’t adhering to his “Manifesto.”
NES is 8 bit, SNES/SEGA/TG16 is 16 bit, NEO GEO is 24 bit graphics
Out of those I like NEO GEO’s graphics the best.
The open world Super Adventure Box content was only there for April 1. Tyria as a whole has now been returned to its former state and all the animals are back inside the Super Adventure Box in Rata Sum.
In addition, you may have noticed that Moto is no longer selling Continue Coins for 25 baubles. This is intended, and that price was only good on April 1. Moto referenced this in his in-game message.
Since buables chests are no longer in the open world. Does Anet plan on increasing the number of baubles with-in the Super Adventure Box?
Continue Coins are still dropped from Splendid Chests in the open world.
Open world, but they are not spawning right now. Could be it was only for April 1st. Or Anet had to pull the plug to fix errors.
Hasn’t anyone ever wondered what it would be like to play “the Legend of Zelda” online?
This idea would be like that. But it wouldn’t be a copy of Zelda. It would look and play like the SAB with a more Zelda like open mmo world, in a 3d 8-24 bit detail.
Make a map that is a seamless open world like zone. That supports up to 50 players can play in without out it going into overflow. The map should resemble “The Legend of Zelda” in how it’s designed but not a copy of it. It would still have elements of other great 8-24 bit games.
Zone
*Zelda like layout in 3d 16-24 bit detail.
*add details from other games to the zone
*dungeons-some zelda like, side scrolling like mario and metal slug neo geo
*open world zone
*permanent zone in holographic generator
*Enemies-normal open world enemies in 16-24 bit.
*Allies-same as in the open world but in 16-24 bit.
*Players-I don’t know if I want them in 16-24 bit. If not if would give the game a Alice in Wonderland feel.
Make this world more serious than the SAB but fun.
*limit rainbow clouds to part of puzzles.
*no arrows, this is a open world.

Dye them! Don’t give Anet ideas of selling multiple color version separately (aka pink quaggan). That is just repackaging old items to resell.
Also make all backpacks, weapons, and underwear dye-able.
It’s one extra portal, less than 30secs of a loading screen…
Plus a minute of running from the PVP area to the portals.
It also is taxing on the LA server and the Mists servers. Putting them into overflow because players decide to do their business in LA.
Players need to be spread out into the other cities. By giving them free direct access to their home cities. This would also save Anet money by reducing the number of overflow servers.
What kind of computer are you playing on that it takes you a minute in the pvp areas? You have direct access to home cities. The fact that it takes one more portal than going to the main city shouldn’t make a difference. I never go to LA and avoid it at all costs. I’m always in The Grove or Hoelbrak. Never had an issue with getting there or worrying about “time costs”.
PvP area in LA.
You are just trolling my post.

Time cost?
It’s already free to use the portals. So why not save players the time of having to go through LA in get to our home cities.
How are the chest different than the holiday presents and trick or treat doors?
My idea is to make a SAB map inspired from the first zelda’s games layout. Not a copy. But make it a 3d in 8-24 detailed world that look like GW zones. With 8-24 bit GW enemies.
Image playing GW in 3d a low graphic and zelda world like layout.
http://ian-albert.com/games/legend_of_zelda_maps/zelda-overworld.png
Already exists. Go to the Mists and port to LA. 100% free.
To add a completely useless item for the sole purpose of doing something which is already possible is …. pointless.
There’s time cost.
The other cities lack things that LA has. PvP area, portal to warp to any other city.
I think travel to the home city should be free. So more people do don’t hang out in just LA.

Why do people keep comparing this to Mario? It has more elements from Zelda.
