Roaming groups don’t typically come to the forums complaining about zergs since it is just a fact of life no matter what server you play on or what servers you play against. The people who complain the most about zergs are zerglings themselves upset that they just got outzerged.

We just laugh at the lameness that is the state of the human being.

Ignorant people that draw way too many conclusions about people that they don’t know say the funniest things.

Full zerker is bad and full PVT is bad. You need a mixture. Frontline needs survivability. Some DPS can afford to go zerker and survive due to mechanics. The classes that don’t have those mechanics need a sturdy front line to control ground so they can use intelligent positioning to survive.

They can go zerker, but when you fight people enough they learn to know who is squishy and who is not. You will get focused and killed if you are a non-cheese class in zerker gear unless you have a good support crew in survivability gear that can peel and heal.

Perhaps there is some confusion in what I said. Yes, someone in zerker gear can be viable in pretty much every setting. Groups or guilds full of zerkers are not viable unless they have a numbers advantage.

You obviously don’t know the whole story. This guy was literally trebbing us in the camp as soon as the swords showed up, rather than coming out to see what was up.

That guy was on the treb for hours I concede he was being useless. You see people hiding on a wall, I see people hiding behind a camp full of guards… I usually try to get my opponent to move north a little for a fair fight, but too many have cement shoes and can’t seem to get past the the guards. I don’t even mind a 2 on 1 so please feel free to let your buddy know it is ok to leave the camp.

If your goal is to protect the camp, have at it just don’t delude yourself into thinking sitting on a wall is any different than being hit by a wall (guild claimer with buff).

There is no comparison to fighting right outside a tower or keep with a door to run into and fighting in a camp, even with the buff. It always amuses me how some people think they are really safe standing next to a buffed supervisor.

WTH are you talking about? They have two at the sentry spot with five of you at the keep. You can come out and 5v2 them at the sentry. If their third comes out then it would be a 5v3 at the sentry.

YB won the PPT race during primetime on reset night when everyone was queued in all zones with equal numbers, right? Really, that is the only thing that matters. Once off-hour coverage comes into play everything is meaningless.

These new players are all from PvE running full zerkers that refuse to listen to commanders and just want their achievements done.

Getting them wiped a few times is probably the best thing to do in order to make them understand WvW is not PvE.

Running full zerker works when you already have a number advantage in the fight. That excludes the classes that can cheese it up with mobility and/or stealth.

I made a suggestion many ages ago to have a set % that lifeforce settles to while out of combat. That set % can be adjusted for sake of balance.

There is way too much of a difference between starting a fight against a necro with 100% lifeforce compared to 0% lifeforce.

Our survival mechanics don’t translate well to WvW. We are fine with getting focused by <5 players, not so good when getting focused by >10 players.

You have to rely on your groupmates to peel for you.

Only thing that really matters is what happened after the screenshot. Did you all come out to fight them or did you stay at the keep?

On the other hand, I really don’t blame PUGs too much for not engaging a group with the same tag even if they do outnumber them. Organized groups that hide in towers from even numbers or less is something different.

When you dont care about PPT, the game becomes very different

WOW, I’ve never seen such arrow cart skill before…. What are your secrets for arrow carting people at a choke point? Do you lead them? Is there a specific target you go for, like a guardian or a ranger or something? Do you check for buffs before picking your target?

Also, not sure if you Anet guys realize this or not. But, it is actually more rewarding to let the enemy take keeps so you can take them back. I’m really surprised there is not a lot more blatant keep swapping going on.

I like to solo/duo roam or roam with small groups. I dislike siege and tower/keep fighting. I dislike PvE. GW2 will just be yet another game that forces me to play through content I don’t like in order to compete in the content I do like.

A huge percentage of the people who play these games only care about winning. They don’t care about even playing fields or challenges. They would be perfectly happy dominating at the top of one of the brackets with no real challenges.

How is NSP only having 125 PPT vs the rank 23 and 24 unless they are purposely tanking. HoD is barely putting up any points either in our match up versus Ebay.

NSP is a much stronger server than Kaineng is right now. Fought them (Kaineng) weeks ago before this league nonsense. They are extremely weak in terms of actual WvW guild presence.

Ran across some random guy on the street the other day and we started talking about GW2 (happens a lot, kind of strange). I asked him what class he plays and he replied, “I play a perplexity.”

The real skill in GW2 is figuring out where your mouse pointer is.

My comments were directed to Ebay, not your servers. Explain to me why Ebay was getting outmanned in Eternal Battleground during prime time on a weekend night a few weeks ago, but last night we had a queue in every single zone?

The key thing to keep in mind here is the queue. If Ebay was able to queue every zone last night they should have been able to queue every zone against the higher tier opponents. That would remove your 20v60 from the discussion.

Hod doesn’t have too much risk of getting into silver. they can push ppt and take more points away from kaineng if they wanted. Kaineng is losing a few more people to transfers this week as well. With the 5 point gap between kaineng and NSP it is definitely possible that NSP can end up silver.

To be honest neither server deserves to be in silver, they are all bronze level servers.

Regardless of what happens, these matchups were highly improbable via straight RNG and give NSP the best chance at staying at the top of bronze. You are on Kaineng, so you should realize just how exactly weak your server is right now. If Kaineng had a matchup with a server lower than them they would be crashing in rating much worse than they are right now.

Societal problem: People don’t want to work on their skills and tactics. People don’t want challenges. They just want to win, no matter how meaningless that win is.

Not gonna lie, I like Oozo’s videos. It’s kinda creepy how he has them for just about every situation. It’s like.. Oozo’s always watching….

Warbanners are awesome (just another reason to stack warriors, I guess!)

It’s actually quite effective. Nothing but guardians, warriors, and stealth (mesmers and thieves). Guardians and warriors bring high uptime on stability to get the banner off and mesmers and thieves provide stealth for the downed to buy time to get the banner off.

War banners are huge in those 15v15 GVGs. Haven’t seen roaming groups totally built around using war banner until NSP.

We’ve been pushin war banner use for some weeks in the guild (actually I remember banners in general catchin my eye in the one Sars + condi bow warrior roamin video a while back) though we didn’t have many warriors until recently (like 2 days ago I had a group of 5 and it was 1 staff ele, 3 warriors, and my guardian and it was super effective). I dunno what it is but the few times we get like 3+ warriors, suddenly it feels like we’re doin much better.

We’ve also played a lotta borderland defense though and bannering keep lords while people are arrivin on the map is kinda big game.

Edit: We’re not very good at using stealth in the guild though ‘cause our thieves all suffer from some kinda weird quirk. Taquito refuses to stealth or be stealthed, Leet won’t join any group over 5, and Ejecta only communicates by interpretive dance.

Hah, yeah. People say that stealthers aren’t good for group fights. But using stealth to deny stomps, secure stomps, get rezzes, cover guardian book, cover warrior banner, etc is very useful to a group and difficult to counter.

Can’t argue that it isn’t a good tactic, despite how annoying it is to deal with. Also it is sad that most of those fights, at the least the ones with Holy/tM/SPCA, were ruined by adds from both sides and then sometimes Yaks Bend. Still good fights, good luck with your next matchup.

Yeah, only one real semi-clean fight which I’d admit that they won. Still though, we got first downed and they mass invised and war bannered him up. :/

Yep. Yak’s is horrible and can only zerg. That’s the rote line whenever you lose in WvW after all.

I give credit where credit is due. Even people who dislike me would admit that much. We have not run across anyone from Yak’s Bend who can handle themselves well in an even number open field fight all week. From what I can tell, most of Yak’s Bend runs zerker builds and try to rely on numbers to win and/or fighting with siege support from a nearby tower or keep.

The problem is all the kids rage quit when they start getting stomped. They do have the manpower to face us, they just stopped logging in after awhile and are now just getting farmed by us. You need to understand where the OP is coming from. They are solo or duo roaming on necros. They are probably running across 3-5 mans with multiple guardians and warriors.

While you should lose those fights against good players, it’s the way you lose those fights that is kind of ridiculous. You can have fun even losing a fight just as long as you have control of your character. Getting chain stunned or disabled for 80% of a fight isn’t much fun. :P

Stability on DS is something you can have if you are a power necro (although most would opt for the extra crit chance trait). A possible solution would be to move stability on DS so it’s more accessible for all builds given the amount of CC being thrown around.

It’s not a horribly pressing issue since the game isn’t really balanced around 1v1 to begin with, but group fights. So, it’s expected that a necro should have their own heavies in their group to cover their weaknesses.

This was talked about in an earlier post. You gain rating when you get matched up with higher tier servers even if they crush you. Ebay has spent weeks upon weeks getting crushed (with respect to PPT) by servers higher rated than them.

We have been on at those same times and have been in be. Many times when we run into a group, it’s main objective is to enter the nearest structure until they can be assured they outnumber us.

I admit, it is smart for ppt, but this match seems to be one of the most I enjoyable yet. At least sbi fought us open field with their guilds.

I guess that’s how wvw goes tho. No hard feelings it is just getting stale.

I started looking out for you guys after your first post. Last night, you were running at least 30 people (probably more with non-guildies), which is probably one of your first problems. Most of the guilds that open-field on Ebay have ~20 people online during raids, so we’re obviously going to get mobbed by you guys. Mid-raid, I noticed you guys only because you were lagging my computer to death. I’d suggest that if you really wanted fair, open field fights, set something up or run with fewer people. The only other guild I know about that runs with so many people in your style is Pyro. Lots of people, but you can’t really tell if they’re good of if they just outnumber you.

Also, there was a nice three-way fight near Anz earlier in the night, where Yaks was composed predominantly of [Os] and after NSP were killed you guys ran away from Ebay, even though the numbers were clearly in your favour.

He’s not confused about Os running with what looked like 25+ in Eternal. I mean, it doesn’t rival AD’s numbers as we always run with 30+ but it was pretty impressive.

He is probably confusing Os with One from YB. They were running with 30+ in Eternal. That would have been good fight, sounds like it didn’t happen though.

New patch: PvF now contributes to in-game PPT.

The only thing that kittens me off is that they have coyotes while EB being red doesn’t and hasn’t for a few weeks now. That kitten right there is unfair.

Here’s an extended 2vN against unorganized people with a condition necro, so I guess that means I know what I’m talking about. Things not seen in this movie: an organized group running guardians and hammer warriors.

Sor’s complaint here isn’t that they can’t kill unorganized bad players by the droves. Any half decent necro can do that. The difficulty is when you run across a good organized group that is heavy on control guardians and control warriors.

Depending on builds the guardians and warriors will remove conditions for the group. Warriors with dogged march and melandru are almost passively immune to roots and snares. They also remove conditions regularly due to cleansing ire. It is hard to stick conditions on such a group to get any kind of meaningful spreads.

If your group doesn’t offer you stability then you are going to be chain CCd. ANY GOOD GROUP WILL ALWAYS FOCUS THE ENEMY’S NECRO. If they don’t then they deserve to lose. It’s difficult to accomplish much on a necro when you are getting focus CCd.

The answer of course is to bring your own heavies, who you absolutely have to rely on when fighting a good group or to switch heavy yourself. My condition warrior is far easier to play than my necro and just as effective, if not more, in a small group fight.
