IoJ is a server that gets beat in the open field during NA, but brags about PPT on the forums because of their overnight coverage. You’ll love them. They are like the SoS of the lower tiers.

WTH are you talking about? SBI was absolutely the worst draw possible for Maguuma. If Maguuma wins, they get very little since SBI is lower ranked. If SBI wins, or even does well, they get a huge boost and Maguuma suffers.

Who gets into the gold league is determined by how lucky or unlucky you are with the RNG draws. It’s kind of pathetic.

Sounds like crud to me. I think it is more likely a bunch of folks moved there to be the top of the silver league, which would have been the case if ANET didn’t push back the start date. How much ‘not winning’ did you expect to be doing at the top of silver?

No, a bunch of the people who moved to SBI came from DR. They moved the same time we did (actually a bit before). It was before the leagues were even announced. Some moved because of the league thing, but not all of them and certainly not the ones who moved there from DR.

TLDR: The initial exodus to SBI was before leagues were announced and it was to leave the dead matchups in the bottom tiers.

EBay’s rank is actually a bit inflated since they’ve been matched up with servers much higher than them for weeks on end. They have actually gained rating while getting kittenstomped by higher tier servers.

Hell, even NSP is gaining rating at the moment. Stupid system is stupid. Look at the bright side. NSP should do well in their bracket when the leagues start. Ebay and Yak’s will get crushed by the servers that didn’t quite make it into gold.

Small group fighting is difficult as a necro if you don’t have heavies in your own group to create a line, peel for you when you get focused (and any good group should always be focusing the necro), and give you stability when the other side is chaining CC on you.

Necro is strong, but it’s downside is that it is not self-reliant when getting focused. It lacks mobility and it lacks stability. These are weaknesses that will be exploited by good players and it requires teammates who can help cover for those weaknesses.

If an enemy group is letting a necro sit back and freecast, then they are playing poorly. Good groups put pressure on the necro. My advice for the people jumping on Sororita is to play a necro in a group without any guardians and fight a good group that has (hammer) guardians and (hammer) warriors that focus the necro and see how easy it is.

Throw in a thief and/or mesmer while you are getting chain stunned if that isn’t enough for you. :P

When DR collapsed, a few of the active WvW guilds went to SBI. That move started before leagues were even announced. So, don’t blame all of the guilds on SBI for bandwagoning to set themselves up for the league.

Three warriors here as well. I won a 1v2 against a ranger and a thief yesterday by just following a rotation with hammer>longbow: combustive, arcing arrow, earthshaker, repeat with other skills in between. Didn’t need to give a kitten about just about anything, signet took care of healing, condi removal and might stacks happened by themselves.

And then there’s the kittening bunker warriors who put down a regen banner and their healing signet, and then literally just RUN IN CIRCLES. It’s ridiculous and needs to stop. Passive kitten is ruining the game.

You should see what my guild leader does with his warrior. Goes to sleep on the steps of enemy keeps with 2 cannons and arrow carts firing on him and several stupid ranger pets attacking and regens for more than all of that combined can inflict damage.

It’s too late for that. For example, Ehmry Bay has had weeks upon weeks of being matched up with servers ranked much higher than they are so their actual rating is vastly inflated.

With stat creep, soloing camps is pretty much trivial on my guardian, warrior, and necro. I suspect it is this way for all of the classes if they have the right build.

I prefer to call it Northern Mesmerpeaks, personally.

VR is pretty big, so I figured that there might be more than one female human VR necro out there. Anyway, necro is always a high priority target because if left alone they can really f00k kitten up as you know.

They all contribute to make WvW a very unfriendly place for casual players, up-leveled characters (remember the promise of leveling in WvW?), altaholics, or people on less-populated Servers.

Yeah, Maguuma has hardly any thieves and mesmers at all.

25 Magoombers try to ambush four of us by hiding behind a hill. Of course, some of their name tags stick out around the hill so we see them and the ambush fails. They chase us across the zone, failing to kill any of us with their 25.

That infuriates them so much that they chase us all the way into the legendary guards to try to kill us. Many of them die. They stay and fight for awhile, but slowly start losing people. Eventually they give up and we kill the ones too slow to pull out with the rest of their zerg.

No insult to Maguuma here. Every server does this. Even the l33t hammer train sooper squadz of the upper tiers do it.

The fundamental problem is that it takes far more skill to kill a good thief than it does to play one. The windows of opportunity to kill one are narrow, while their margin for error is substantial.

Thieves also hit people who wear pink armor harder than other people. It’s like a +15% damage bonus if any piece of your armor is pink.

Yeah, it’s not a skill comparison. Ark has already said they don’t care about PPT. They’d increase their chances of finding the type of fights they want by moving up tiers, but again… leagues, heh.

Edit: there’s also a LOT of misunderstanding around what a hammertrain actually is. The presence of hammer wars doesn’t mean you’re running a hammertrain. Agg runs a hammertrain because they are very frontline heavy.

The only time we’ve ever seen you is when you are running an AoE blast targeted driver train.

There are zerglings in every BL, you can’t expect me to keep tabs on who zergs where at all times.

I only brought it up because you said EB never goes open field unless they have a map queue behind him, something I found funny because I have only ever seen Ark zerg themselves. Interestingly enough I actually saw an Ark roaming duo shortly after my first post. I chuckled when I realised they were both running perplexity engi cheese.

There was no GH raid last night. The only raid which was happening is a karma train group which is all PuGs. If you heard that, it wasn’t GH. Also, if you had to resort to stream-sniping to figure out where a large karma train is, then I suggest you learn to watch maps better. Such actions are only showing your own flaws (especially since a majority of the streamers from Ehmry run with a delay.

There’s no need to use streams to find your k train when you put up orange swords with 50 guys on the doors of all the keeps on a borderlands lol. Don’t flatter yourselves and think people would have any reason to watch a stream of a karma train live.

The reason Bloodlust is generating so much more outrage is pretty much all the other things are somewhat in a player’s own control. Competitive players and guilds can grind and farm and work to ensure they are prepared as best they can be to face any other evenly-matched opponent (whether in open-field, roaming, havoc, or GvG).

But Bloodlust is the worst kind of “piling on” – you can easily find yourself -50 to -100 on ALL Stats due to things taking place on other Maps. Now underdog Servers are having players Stomped for 3 points making any benefits of the Outnumbered Buff completely useless. People can’t even go to EB for a chance at “even fights” in these unbalanced matches because Bloodlust applies to all Maps.

To make matters even worse, many people rallied and posted on the Forums against this as soon as they heard how Bloodlust was going to work. All these things were pointed out ahead of time and all the warnings were completely ignored by ANet.

Also, as bad as all the other things are, they still allowed the emergent “GvG Movement” to take place where competitive Guilds could still have even fights largely decided by skill and organization regardless of how messed up the overall match was. Regardless of whether you support or hate GvG in WvW it was keeping a lot of the most “hardcore” players playing… and Bloodlust puts a real dent in the ability for it to take place anymore.

Call it a “Perfect Storm” moment – all these things coming to a head after months of neglect and with a potential disaster of the new League/Seasons match format on the horizon. People have just “had enough” and it is now up to ANet to respond or suffer the consequences.

Excellent post. All of this stat creep is not friendly at all to casual players. The only thing that is friendly to casual players are zergs (until they run across a zerg-busting guild group that has all of the stat creep).

Add in the upcoming disaster that will be the league system and GW2 is in a very bad place right now.

Maguuma has just as many zerging cowards as any other server, including Ebay. Doesn’t matter what server you are on or what server you fight. It’s the same thing pretty much everywhere.

You use torment when they are immobilized so they can’t dodge it.

I also love how tactics in a group are looked down on. Blob, zerg, aoe, hammer, and blah, blah, blah, are all bad words and bad practices these days. Yet, an organized guild group of 20 -30+ is what WvW is geared towards. T1 comp is pug train in EB, with big guilds on BL’s, and pug train heading to BL in need. Playing in a large group is an advantage in this game.

Zerg busting with a guild is the most fun you can find in this game imo.

Nah, small scale fights against good players with under 10 is the most fun you can have in this game. And it’s a hell of a lot harder to win those fights than crushing PuG zergs.

If you run 9-15, then why won’t you 10v10?

And blobbing isn’t about numbers it’s a playstyle. It’s about stacking up on your targeted driver and using AoEs on top of him as he moves through the enemy. Push through them, stack on the other side for heals and buffs. Push through them again with AoE, stack on the other side for heals and buffs. Rinse and repeat.

It’s a boring (but effective due to stupid game mechanics) playstyle, IMO.

It’s far easier for 15 people to trim down to 10 than for 10 people to go find 5 extra to join them. Besides, this game starts falling apart the more people you add to the fight. Individual skill matters much less when you are running over 10.

1v1s are too much about build wars. The sweet spot is 3v3 to 6v6 or so, IMO.

Balance is made for tier1 wvw.

This happen in all games. Companies balance their games for competitive play, not for the majority of yours community. Bloodlust maybe is great and bring a lot to the table for high tier servers, decompressing a little the zerg fight. In mid and low tier is the death. More if you are matchup vs a 7+ rank server.

Bloodlust is only fun, dynamic and balanced when the matchups are even (something very rare I might add). In T1 or T7 it doesn’t make a difference, the biggest blob will always have 3 orbs and ruin the game experience of the weaker servers.

Adding stats orb buffs back in the game is undeniably a poorly thought out move.

When your average player sees a scoreboard like that with the dominate server having three orbs they don’t even go out to play. And, that makes the snowball even worse.

I can’t wait until we get some rank 10 server fighting rank 1-3 servers in the league. The outcome of this should be obvious.

Food, stacks, and gear I view differently since they are things you can have if you put the effort into it.

Now you are picking and choosing which artificial advantages you like and don’t like in a game mode that is imbalanced from the start. You’re accepting the possibility that he may have outplayed you but you won because of Bloodlust, but the exact same can be said about gear/food. Unless you consider out-grinding someone = out-playing them, in which case I have nothing else to say.

Here, I’ll make it easy for you. Both sides of a fight can use food. Both sides of a fight can have stacks. Both sides of the fight can have good gear. Both sides of the fight can’t have 3 orbs.

Yeah. Sos is trying to camp NN with 3 stacks of buttlust while outmanning us. No one is going to fight you. That’s why most people left. Also, I heard you had like a billion vs outmanned an hour ago.

They had a full que, we had 4 people, Me, Mord, Mfer and some dood on an uplevel, Alamo up in this kitten. W/E the match is decided, it’s friday. It’s lion guild, they pile on people coming through the portal 4 to 1 because they dont have enough individual skill to beat even numbers.

You geniuses do the same thing to our early NA/afternoon. Karma trains happen because it’s easier/more rewarding. How many times did you see SoS come on here and complain about losing t3 keeps; especially to the Ram bug when patch hit? None. Grow some balls and move on. Complaining about being outmanned at certain time of day is getting old. Stop being a kitten. Outside of Ark/VR/PYRO I haven’t seen any organized play from other guilds this week. Good luck in your draw next week.
