In our teamfight I feel we need both setups in team.- some bunkers/defensive to add solid survival and cc, but you need some high dmg to get other players down in burst if needed. I say both styles are valid especialy in teamfights.

Not that I play glasscannon but I like my “Bunker Buster” spec. Enjoy,

@Leo Paul, interesting to see you managed to pull the spec of with a focus, its far from my favorite oh but experementing is how the class evolve and new ideas come in. I always feel like I lack dmg if i run s/f + staff and like a easy kill with s/f-gs.

As I see it you got 3 options who a vialble if you want to trait with focus, first is normal 10-30-0-0-30, go for as many crit chamce you can and get another trait for pistol, there is several good traits in dueling so find one you like is not hard. Second option is to run high shatter power spec. Get 20-20-0-0-30, not the hybrid as the focus phantasm is usless in compare to Iswordsman or Iduelist when it come to reliable burst dmg. Get 20 mindwrack dmg and eather boonstrip but i would go for vould on shatters. This way you can get insane vouln stacking and go al in for mv dmg. A one trick pony thu a bit. Third option is a more tanky setup, 10-20-10-0-30 get 3 % less dmg / clone and run a survival shatter playstyle.

@Sonnet, no offense taken, when there is a known bugg around daze and mv and you see extreme dmg its hard see what is what. Best way to get good dmg from daze vouln without glitch is let daze clones hit first, then get dmg landed. Tbh the dmg without “exploit” is so good if you use al mecanics I dont see a point use a unreliable bugg who only work 30%~ of the time anyway.

To get the glitch work ( and its not a reliable thing as its a bugg who not always work,,,, a bit buggy (; ) ppl get 3 daze clones run then before they hit land a mirror immage and decoy mv so al shatters but mv, hit about same time. If you instead use the vould dmg from daze and cc you do superb dmg and enemy have alot harder to avoid get hit as you dazed him and even mabye crippled/rooted.

@Sonnet, its not the glitched shatter, to let daze clones hit first and get 25 stacks of vouln and build 20 stacks of might is not a exploit or bugged, its a strong dmg setup for any direct attacks. Sword 2 hit for 7-9k, my iswordsman did hit a player for 8,7k with might and vouln setup yesterday. Yes its extremly high numbers and sure might get nerfed in future but its not bugged, check the expected dmg, add 25% dmg from vouln, dmg from 20 -25 stacks of might, dmg from signet of night or force and 3% / clone. Its rather a balance situation.

You can thu get bugged shatters up by get 3 clones up and dubble hit f3 and f1 with mirror and decoy,tested and yes its insane dmg but to claim anyone use vuln daze shatters to buildup dmg is used bugged dmg I say is unfair. Or do you mean 9k sword nr 2 also is a bug/exploit, mabye do a list of abilitys we alowed to use and not?

The guardian in start dont die to bugged shatters, its totaly normal shatters for 3’5-3’8 k x4 crits who hit a target who dont get defenses up and have low base hp pool.

Nwm Arena net want burst dmg in wvwvw, its mabye the most effective dmg in group fights and mesmers got alot of effctive ways to do burst. Its a strong class and shatter builds are a strong build. Play witch ever of em you want.

Overall good thiefs given me some of the longest and most challangching fights in wvwvw on my roaming runs. I have the deepest respect both for good burst dmg and condition dmg thiefs.

Still as the class tend to draw alot of bad tiefs alot of them is just insta kills and dont offer alot of challange.

@Xavi, I latley started to prfere use Sigil of Accuracy on staff and start stack precition / swap to this when I end ppl or kill npc,s. On sword 1 I like to have 5% dmg, this way I have high dmg and already at 10 stacks I have a high crit chance. On OH sword I prefere Sigil of Generosity and if i use pistol Fire AOE sigil.

What I traded away is sigil of energy as I feel with vigour buff I dont need it so much anymore.

I regulary have 4-6k shatters in wvwvw and I dont use the exploit. Best I had is 6,4k x 3 but thats with 2 clones up not 3. But same time yesterday My sword nr 2 got my first ingame 10k hit on a thief.

Its trading some range and ability to catch runners for stronger dmg and nuke. So its not like other spec where you go for more dmg trade survival or condition dmg for better burst. Its accualy have stronger survival abilitys and better defense vs other glascannons.

As the hybrid spec have harder catch runners its perfect to play in smal team with a thief who can sprint targets down if they run. I think I prefere the spec also when I raidleading as its stronger for group nukes.

I do thu think that for around the world roaming the “Shatter Cat” basic is both faster and have a bit better utilitys.

Overall I like both, I am happy as its easy to switch between em, gamestyle is abit different especialy shatter combos and defense but gear is about same. I dont need to have 2 sets of gear to swotch between them just a extra sword and 2 necleses.

@Kraggy, yeah like the ppl said clones usualy need traits to do dmg. But test to get 1 -2 clones up then hit f1 mindwrack dmg. Then try build combos of this, get 3-4 mobs into a chaos storm of the staff, 1-2 clones up and hit f1 and suddenly you start to do some good dmg.

I worked on a alternative build to normal shatter focused pistol/sword build. Its still alot of shatters but a hybrid build with phantasms and insane numbers. Still the strong survival abilitys from a normal shatter build.

@Unknown, well something like it but also 1 st shatter (self) 9 might and 9% dmg, 2 nd 9 might 9% dmg, 3 rd 12 might, 6% dmg, 4 th 15 might 3 % dmg.

Now its time to get confusion applyed so even a 1 clone dodge and cry or only cry add 2-4 confusion stacks to the already 4+, but the might stacks will give 300% to your base condition dmg on this last stacks.

base condition dmg 315 + might dmg 35x 20 ~ 1 k condition dmg.

@ Mogster, the high confusion dmg accualy is a ressult of the shatter setup you ask about in your second question. The idea with the hybrid build is that the phantasm do dmg and get 3 clones up, daze shatter will after that give 3 effects that kinda put the ball on the spot and get the golie drunk behind the goal.

1 It daze the enemy so hes defensive capabilitys is less.

2 it apply 16-25 stacks of voulnebility fot 25 extra direct dmg

3 it give you 9 stacks of might who will buff what ever shatter you deccide to do.

So if you now mindwrack you do good dmg, whatever phantasm you create will do huge crits and when you got al shatters done and end with a cry of frustration the last confusion stacks will be applyed with around 600 extra condition dmg. I seen close to 3 k ticks with confusion with this spec and normal “Shatter Cat”.

@Tatto, no I kinda disslike torch as its dmg is non direct, I see the condition dmg in my builds as a bonus to normal dmg and a controlltool rather than core dmg.

Hydro seems good but I think nothing realy beat force 5% dmg, flame aoe, 10 precition / kill, energy in dmg, testing generosity and so far it look like another mesmer winner sigil.

@Lordryux, Yea the spec has great team abilitys for take down ppl, especialy bunkers.

@Dinara, exactly the spec trade of some range and utility for more dmg and ability to handle some classes the other spec struggle with or have a harder time vs. Its in no way a Replacement to shatter cat, its an alternative.

I think its important we have alternative builds to spec and play as it make our enemys have a harder time adapt to ehat we throw at em. I even fought some shatter mesmers who instantly when my leap clone jumped em hit their 4 sec immunity. They was so sure I would use the normal combo that they prematured their defenses and tock a nuke after.

I still regulary play shatter cat, just want to show you can play the spec in different ways.

About s leap you get it of more common if you know its weakness, the clone is lazy and dont want to run upphill, if target is just a tiny part under you its np, so use terrain and try be above your target.

Sigil of generosity is there as it give a little help vs tanks and your dmg already wery strong. Sigil of fire is a super strong alternative and I might enup use that instead, just feel I want to try generosity out.

@Lordryux, I been fighting ALOT of thiefs last 5 days, seems half arbonstone is made of thiefs. Alot bad ofc but some good. The best tip vs em I can give is play like normal shatter cat but use sword block. It litterly take half their hp down, if rune of air hit aswell they get 1 shot almost.

Also your condition dmg is same as normal so a cry of frustration is wonderfull. And when they stealth use mass invis and start dodge like crasy to pop staff clones up. If they open on a popping up clone mindwrack and they die.

Overall survival is like normal “Shatter Cat” reactive and skill based. I spent most of this evening in a 7 man roaming party, first to dive into enemy packs of up to 15 players and I tell you its fantastic to see the havoc you leav when you portal out.

We al need to evolve and try new stuff. So far people after phantasm nerfs been so eager to move from phantasm that alot of the good with them gets forgotten.

Ok last weeks I been working on a hybrid spec, first I was fully working on a shatter cat condition hybrid but was not totaly satisfyed with the ressults even if I still keep the project. My goal was to find a good way to deal with guardians, bunkers and still keep the survival and good incombat mobility of the shatter cat.

So instead I changed direction and experemented with a “Shatter Cat” phantsams hybrid. The gear is wery simmilar to the one I used in the past, as ts still a “Shatter Cat” build its not a pure glascannon but a reaction survival build with toughtness and vitality min stats as in “Shatter Cat” guide.

The hybrid save the “Shatter Cat,s” huge condition dmg, in the video you see regular 1,5-2,4k confusion hits, you also see shatters for 6k+. But biggest change is that the build also have serious phantasm dmg and bigger personal sword dmg. Last days I had bf,s for 9-10k+ several times, also regulary phantasm who hit for 7k+.

I will include this build as a alternative “Shatter Cat” build in the guide in some time.

What is so fantastic with mesmers is the big amount of viable gamestyles. Sure some is for sertan moments seen as “best” but truth is that we can play in several setups and styles even if we use same weapons.

Embolis for example play condition as I understand with sucess, one of the 4 mesmers in my 15 man crew in wvwvw play a glamor condition support build and she is probobly the best counter to big enemy zergs I seen. Its fantastic how her glamour build with timewarp on our group and a necro spread conditions can just melt a enemy charge down.

For Pve as its what your ask for I link my wvwvw guide. Its work well in Pve aswell and in instances. I play a roaming shatter spec with crit dmg and feel strong in group play and have my role.

As Embolis say, there is no better just different. If you like crit dmg setups and want to use shatters alot I have a guide, atm I play a staff – sword/sword build but most of my time i roam with sword/pistol.

@Embolism, I think there is alot Anet can do to give more ways to specialice into different ways of the class. Give more synergies for mesmers to play condition effectivly is one. Mabye somehow affect what conditions the staff would apply randomly is another.

Say option 1 : bleed, burn, poison. Option 2: vulneability, cripple, confusion.

Thos would a condition mesmer be able to go for nr 1 and burst dmg mesmer/direct dmg go for option nr 2 with more controll and direct dmg boost. Just a thought.

@All, Changed staff sigil to precition stacks on kill. Uppdated the guide aswell now as it will stay as my recomended setup. With vigour buff I find energy less of a issue.

With high % crit dmg (>100%) and might stacks for power this is a extremly good dmg bonus. It let us get maximum effectness from our high crit dmg and burst capabilitys. With fury up I now is close to 90% crit when this is fully stacked. A 3 clone shatter mindvrack often crit x 3-4.

@Aleph Naught, interesting, i based that asumtion on some testing in some article I read before and the pure fact its say “% dmg” and not “% direct dmg”. Can you somehow verify this? Also if so how do it affect dmg % vs for, example "+10% dmg vs Ghost "

@UnknownFreaky, If you want to trade out something in your gear and in toughtness I suggest you trade out a condition dmg vitality gearpart for a toughtness precition (knight). This as you get Alot of conditiondmg from might anyway (35/stack of might) and is rather high on vitality. For a crit dmg class 500 hp there or not wont make him burst you slower or faster, vitality protect vs conditions and random aoe.

@Grimmson, yes what make the 20-20-0-0-30 build so dominating in sPvP that devs start worry and talk about nerf it. I expect dazzling be moved to higher tear or nerfed tbh. Still In wvwvw its to solo target for my taste and the pistolrange is just to good in the wvwvw distances. In spvp everything is close and the 1200 on pistol dont matter.

@Unknown, well I would not say usless, 9 might is a good bonus but aside form that. It depends on how you like your clones up. If u and al clones hit instantly same time its 1 sec of daze. What you do instead vs a guardian for example you line clones up, when they on different distances you hit daze, now they hit in wave bam, 0,5 sec bam, o,5 sec bam etc. Each reset daze. If he block them cheer u get might and he used a block and al about fight guardians is force em to use al cd,s and defenses. If they dont block you know hes dazed so go burst.

I recently listened to a lecture at work, a psycologist talked about the feeling of loss in life and how it affect us. Scientists have shown that the feeling of joy and the reward chemistry in our brain when we gain something is only a trird or even less for some ppl compared to the sorrow and pain they feel when they loose something of equal value.

Basicly if person a got two amounts of something he want, say a increaced payment at work. If work take half of it away hes depression ower it will be deeper than the joy of the raice he still accualy got.

So by buff a class then do a balance nerf, even if the class is stronger than it was before the first buff, will feel uppset and dissapointed.

Dont forget we was in a good position Before the buff, some things got overhand, like 25 vouln and 25 might in spvp, so they will balance it. I sure they wont make us weaker than before the first buff, we prob still will had a overall increased effectness.

Good thing I have a level 80 Warrior that is also my favorite class to play in sPvP, will just keep getting stronger while the biased devs nerf everything else.

Shame I wasted time leveling my Mesmer to 80 in PvE though as the PvPs communities refusal to l2p just means the weakest PvE class just keeps getting weaker and all I can do in WvWvW now is portal bomb, shame I hate portal bomb.

At my work al colleges drive BMW but i got a ford fiesta, thats my favorite class. Im glad cause if my company now gong to save some money and let the others drive wv golf my fiesta will feel alot cooler!

At home I thu have a Porche, I do thu regret buying it as I dont feel I can put the energy in learn to drive it on any other than first gear, it feel wery weak and the more I drive it on first gear the weaker it feel. It do thu have a superb stereo, tobad I hate music.

@Knight&UnknownFreak, Idd in this case it was Vengance, I was hoping for it and why i tryed win ground and gte behind trees and los when I felt death comming as it win time. Also you might note I pull practicly the whole maps fauna of npc,s when I fight, as the dmg I do is aoe and I kiting al time its not as something negative. Opposite tbh, i intentionaly try dmg as many as possible if I fight bad odds, this make me rally extremly easy, when im about to go down I pick the one with lowest hp and pop up again. Its cheesy but in 1 vs 3 or more you can be allowed to be cheesy.

@GamerToukotsu, Its Fraps and Playclaw. If I have alot of hd free I use fraps alot but its files are sick, I usualy remake them after some filming if I going to save em for later with a converter as you cant save 10g files al the time in arcives. For editing I use Adobe Elements and windown moviemaker. Spotify is my source of music and I pay for al music I use in my videos.

@AkridVenom, Haha cheers I had alot of fun. Me and Cheku one of the 2 wvwvw guardians in my team said last night “shall we try a little spvp?” We picked a almost emty server and then he got into a duel for 10!!! minutes with your guild ranger Leothona, he had so fun and so did I watching. Then you joined and well evening was great Red Wine and dueling spvp was a nice channge form the tactical planning wvwvw roaming. Cheers.

Reguarding staff and movment idd it have more ways than just chaos storm, phase retreat jump have extremly short cd, supprice many enemys when you dubble blink to them with swiftness and 1200y pistol stun followed by sword leap. I catched supriced ppl who /dance on a road 2000+y away feeling secure. Dropping a portal before 2 nd blink also give you a escape tool if you stomp somone in enemy land.

Swiftness is not the answer to everything tbh.

Also, staff and mesmers wealding them have mabye the best incombat movment in the game so tbh we cant have all imo. Just look at staff nr 2 who with some practice can be used to climb rocks and cliffs, drop a portal and suddenly with staff 2 short cd, portal blink and even sword leap (yes it can portal downhill, tested )you can juke up and down a cliff untill any mele rage quit ( done it just for fun).

@Baio, Tbh I was chasing stats and what gearpart who was what dint realy matter, I mixed and maxed untill I after to many hours of wvwvw found a setup I felt had for me the perfect balance in health, toughtness and dmg. Overall unless a shattercat mesmer avoid dmg most classes and spec destroy us. If you stand there taking you dead, so 90 % of our defense is in your playstyle, those recomended defensive stats is for the last 10% of aoe, messups and camp capping. It also wery easy to sort your defensive stats by buy a invader ring and add what ever jewel you need in it. In the end the defensive gear dont matter so moch, Il explain.

I can say for sure that most of the times I die I could avoided it if I just pressed some of you buttons the last 5 sec in a different order, mabye I just prolonged the suffering but the set death would been avoided. Plan and controll the fight, think chess and be 3 steps ahead, force your enemy to do what you want, even a big pack is kinda forced/lured to folow your will if you taunt em to chase you off a cliff, if only way to escape is to portal up behind em so be it, you still live and won that chess.

Recomended defensive min stats is in first page, my gear also is listed but the gear get changed and experemented with al the time. When I tested something for enought of time and feel I can say something without guessing I change the gear in the setup.

@Tatto, game is dubble the fun with some rollplaying I wanted my mesmer be as annoying and trolling as possible and osicat fits that role perfect with max length on ears and qute smile. The fact she dont look as a big threat and is easy to hide in wvwvw helps aswell.

@Unknown, attack both, juke forth and back, do constant dmg and dont get caught, when any of em at 60% go for a kill, if hes mate try res him its your oppurtunity to get him down, if not shatter 4 kill him. If warrior go down 1st, let him pop vegance, have blink and portal ready to kite him to death. Best tip I can give without a vid of a fight. Its how i fight guardians in general.

I think mesmers biggest weakness is the mesmer itself. We have sutch strong combo that 70% of al players fall for. This make alot of mesmers stay with that combo, never develop new styles to attack/defend and whey you suddenly face a good player he avoid your base attack, go for you and cause stress and misstakes.

Biggest favour we can do to ourself is to start mix and change our atacks. Regulary especialy vs good enemys try do unpredicted stuff, change the shatter order, jump somone bjt dont shatter, do bf, if he immune the bf, wait a few sec and then shatter etc. Open with daze, open with phantasm and 2 staff clones that just dmg and annoy him etc. Alot of effective ways to make a player who think he know what we will do unsure. What spec is thos mesmer? Why he. attacking me with clones etc etc.

I find rune of air, staff, and blink be a enought speed buff. By rotate them i keep up with my group np exept thiefs who we use as scouts anyway. For short distance sprint we accualy wery fast and incombat manuver we shine. If you do a out of combat maraton I suggets bag svap focus thu. Ofc centaur give more speed but not worth the dmg lack when you get into combat.

Compare swtor illum endgame wvwvw with gw2, I dont care about spvp or tpvp, think alot of players never spend time in that part of the game. But the wvwvw ofc have roome for improvment still its a fun form of pvp, best one I ever played in world pvp.

@Influx, I cant say I have big problem with targeting, mostly cause al our dmg is aoe, I use mouse click and tabbing, not optimal I know but It work for me.

@mginn, I fully expect the changes from last patch be nerfed, especialy in pvp. Biggest problem in the spvp is Especialy the 20-20-0-0-30 build. This cause ppl stack 25 might and 25 vouln. I suspect eather a rollback on voulnebiliyy as it make the class to strong vs tanks, or a pvp nerf for mv. In wvwvw 20-20-0-0-30 is not as common as we need therange from pistol and vouln is a single target ability (unless illusionary persona dropped for aoe dazze but who want that).

We was strong before the vould vigour and might buff, now sertan builds make to big impact in the structured pvp and tpvp. We just have to hope they dont penatlice us pve and wvwvw mesmer for what ppl do n spvp (: I mean mesmer who mv for ~4 k without pve gear in spvp, thats 1 shoot many classes.

Also, ppl send 3 clones cs enemy, shatter them then make 3 new before first exploded, its a neet tactic and let you hit with 7 shatters at once.

@synergy, to take down ranged you need controll, force the enemy to do what you want, remeber you can make 3 clones mow and send em on a dazze mission, they run to target, interupt him and stack might, while he working with them get close. Also portal is a fantastic tool vs kiters, so is blink. Se the movment vid again, the staff jump can be don using rangers pet and mesmers clones. See the fight vs 2 gs mesmers, they try kite me and go in different directions. Another thing, rune of air hit at range aswell, track the proc, when it hit jump the target it just hit as they now low hp. I regulary still have 5-6 k hits with rune of air.

@UnknowvFreak, yes also im sure the recent buff to condition dmg thru might also destroy the thiefs. Its a whole new day in the wvwvw I feel, thiefs who jump you die so fast they look almost chocked in their downstate.

The precistion stacking sigil often land me on 60+ % crit chance without fury, this and the fact vigour got so extremly buffed last patch make our energy situation extremly stable and less “jumpy”. I also changed my valkyre neclese to a zerker one, i do thu use a valkyre jewel. This again buffed my precition. I now often see 4 x crit on mw. I feel my toughtness on 1180 and 17200 hp with server buff is more than enought defense as I anyway mostly use my abilitys to avoid dmg.

@All,Testing to use Precition on kill sigil instead of energy. This as vigour is so buffed i dont lack energy anymore. It stacking to 25, so far it seem good. 7,8k crit with blade flurry on a shatter mesmer.

Uppdated teh guide and ty to alanis who deleted a post to make more room for the guide. Gear beeing added more and changed / uppdated traits.

@Lordryux, I added current gear on page 1 now, its in post 5 and need to scorll donw a bit. I repetedly asked admins for more space to the guide but had no asnwer. I now PM,ed the 3 first players and asled them kindly to delete the first posts. This will bump my 4 th post to the guide and I can then make a longer guide and explain gear better. Atm im out of space a bit.

PS Im a bit after in uppdating the text guide after lasets patch. This as I wanted to have good experience of what the inpact on the traits was and If i wnated to change anything. Will now sort that in the comming day.

My latest movie, as promiced its something a bit extra. Its al matereal after patch and Its kinda amazing how strong we are now. Its hard to motivate play anything other than shatter spec nomatter if you go Tank, condition or burst build.

This video is part entertainment but also a bit more advanced guide. It is about how to use defensive offensive juking in battle and how to use terrain. When to attack and when to back. It show 1 vs x but its the same tactic I use in bigger groups group vs group just that we then move 5-10 ppl as a single unit kitng bigger forces and outmanouver them. Its also viable in 1 vs 1 and specialy usefull when you face a skilled opponent.

Mix normal bursts and close range shatters with ranged mv and dizzorsion shatters to controll your enemy.

If you look at hes spec he link from start its 0-20-20-0-30 so he. is playing a shatterspec with illusionary persona and clone on dodge. But he dont utilitice al synergies like reset shatters on 50%hp or 3% less dmg / clone. Al I do in my post is help reshape it to be more effective and better survival.

@Zid, if that so (got any fact who prove it? a wery interesting point of info that need to be cleared out) Its easy to change 3% dmg / clone for 50% shatter reset and keep bounce on staff. Swap signet of force 5% dmg to earth bleed on crit.

For Lyssa it still remove condition and give al boons for a time last time I tested, thats the main reason I use it on my condition shatter build.

@Delusion, Hi mate. OK I will give you som tipps, I dont play tPvP but Last month I tryed a condition shatter build many hours in sPvP and will try it in wvwvw soon. Its wery similar to your build but I changed some. I will give some advices on your build and youc an do what you will, take it or leav it Its not a criticsism on your build so do not se it as I lesser your build., its just things I personaly think is better.

First of all, its a shatter build, this with the might stacking make you want to shatter as often as possible. You will produce more clones than you can shatter and reason the burst build outdmg you si that you have more shatters than you so after a while you lack defenses.

Its easy, drop 33% confusion uptime witch is a ok traid but in a shatter build no were near as good as 50% hp = resett al shatters. It give you another 4 sec immunity, dazze, another cry of frustration witch is your main dmg, mindwrac. It also worth 12 × 3 = 36! stacks of might.

Another is bounce staff, yes extemly usefull but if you have clones up al time and then sahatter them you get more dmg out of 3% dmg / clone. This affect AL dmg sources including shatters and condition.

Manipulation skill changed to sword 50 prec and 20% cd

Fall dmg who is a weak trait unless pure wvwvw and with a special role changed to 3% less dmg / clone who is a extremly powerful trait

I changed torch to pistol, up to you but in my opinion especialy without bounce this do more dmg and give more contol. A shatter mesmer HATE to be stunned as much as you do.

Scepter is a lackluster and for shatter spec unreliable wep. It lack the potensial on demand clone generation for 3 clones and you eather have to get 1 clone and dodge hit 2 or wait for moment to do 3 clones. Its not worth it unless you pve and even questioned here. I know some ppl think scepter is ok but I say that according to me its teh worst shatter mesmer wep we have. Change to sword.

Runes, changed to Lyssa, 6/6 give al boons and remove al conditions on elite, condition and precision.

To maximice the Lyssa changed to MI as it give more elite casts. also strong vs burst classes.

Sigils, 5% dmg on sword, same reason as 3% dmg/clone. Worth more as its % based and your build is tanky so need dmg. Also energy on staff, as you shatter build you cant realy play without this sigil, its just to powerful.

Hope you take my suggestions in the right way. The build I link under is a one that give me as burst shatter mesmer nightmares.

@Taldren, tryed both GS-s/s and staff-s/s 20-20-0-0-30 and of those two I prefered staff as second weap. In top traits I prefered Mv dmg and boonstrip. I cant drop the feeling GS is taking flexibility off the class and by that is better for group solo nuking. It have solid dmg but lack mobility and utility plus it has a weak spot in range. I dont like its abilitys mainly is for dmg or affect the enemy, staff chaos field is affecting both, cloens both buff and dmg, staff to is both a escape or gapcloser, even chaos armour is Offensive and defensive in its nature. The more abilitys,utilitys and effect something have the more tactics and ways of abuse this effect can be developed.

The 20-20-0-0-30 spec is solid but In my opinion “Shatter cat” is more setteled for wvwvw and especialy solo or smal group roaming, while 20-20-0-0-30 might have a edge in s/tpvp. Im totaly aware some ppl prefere Gs, 20-20-0-0-30 and s/s and I respect that. Its even needed as class would not develop if we dont try other things al the time the class will stagnate.

We should not al play same spec, thats absolutley not what I try to do with this guide or thread. I pesonaly want my guild mesmers to play other spec, we got 1 support condition memser who is a battlecruser in our group, a Gs range nuker for pick off low hps at range and two shatter cats for portal attacks and burst group dps. We al have different roles in wvwvw and this is just one of them, its the role I play and even if I experementand change stuff every day, spent enormous ambount of gold on respec and regear al the time, this is the spec and gear I find most effective for my role.

I hope this explains why I set my traits and gear like I have.

@Whiterose, as you soon 40 I can start recomend work a little on a viable shatter build. Its a solid way to play the class and wery fun, if you thu prefere power Gs, condition or phantasm build do what you think is fun.

I run a guild on one mostly aimed for wvwvw and pve who is ok and work. Some videos in it, mostly wvwvw stuff thu. If you interested have a look at the thread and mabye se a video or 2, any questions you have about the build or shater mesmers in wvwvw in general I try answer in the thread.
