Well we tried lvl 50 using rangers and pets to res us on jade maw. But i did a lot 30s and 40s. You just had luck in wep drops but you sound like pre patch was like a drop spree with weapons. The drop rate looks the same to me sorry. They just added chests thats all.

This is silly on so many lvls. One skin every 5 runs? Don’t spread lies please. That means you were simply lucky enough to get a drop. I runned a lot of pre fractured fractals 1-50 and got a few fractal weapons. You make it sound like they dropped like crazy which is not true. It’s the same for me now. Every month 1 weapon, maybe two if i’m lucky. Mostly rings or nothing even or lvl 45+.

20 relics? 75 relics for a skin of choice? That’s a big slap on the face for us who run 30, 40 and 50 daily since the beginning and strugling with RNG and got a few random skins and chests. I would put a stack of pristines for a weapon of choice, because if fractal skins are so hard to get it should stay hard to get even if they add npc that enables the exchange.

I strongly prefer harp playing to PVP content.

I am afraid of most sharks in Gw2 due to a phobia, and because of that avoid the orrian ocean, -especially- where the megalodon spawns. I’ve been forcing myself to deal with them to overcome this.

People may find this funny but there is nothing funny about phobias. I’m rooting for you you can do it ! Baby steps.

-I regret making my main a human. Especially after getting kudzu/Nightmare armour skins (Ranger).

-I often assume any warrior in the group is terrible after seeing excessive amounts of hundred blades —> never dodge roll --> first to die in group warriors.

-I hate thieves to the point where I will abandon trying to capture anything (and lose credit) if it means killing one. In PvE I will not help thieves unless for the sake of completing a dungeon/fractal.

-When ranger buffs hit I will immediately go roam WvW with “sic ’em” on my bar hunting thieves.

-When roaming in WvW I don’t attack up-scaled level players if I don’t have to.

-I don’t like elitists but I also try to min-max.

-I can’t stand rangers without names for their pets.

-I assume every player is male until proven otherwise.

When i joined my first guild i was scared to say anything to g chat untill i reach lvl 80.

Pvp is a great mood booster for me.

I just spent last 35 gold on phantom cowl in tp and i regret nothing.

This just comfirmes people will be people. I personally am thrilled with this change because i had pleasure to do fractals and dungeons with a dozen of kitten instance owners who did:

order other party members to change builds or kick, ordered to change weapons or kick, played tag for 5 min with his kittengy guildie and refuse to press rdy, pour kitten storm of profanity on ele who dropper fgs 1.2 sec later and then if you say something to defend poor guy and say that’s not ok, threaten to kick you, if you ask nicely and give advice to someone who wipes on every single thrash mob and he actually kicks you.

And this is just a drop in a sea of kittengery i encountered with instance owners.

I’m just hoping the vote kick will be increased to 3. Cant tell how happy i am with this update, it will reduce the dungeon selling to minimum too.

Remember the silk problem before ascended armor? I used to throw the silk scraps from salvage because i had so much and was too lazy to sell it on tp (it wasn’t profitable) even too lazy to sell it to vendor because it costs a few coppers. When i was making my ascended light armor i remembered that and nearly wept. I think the same will be with this. They are….up to something.

In my opinion, i respect you OP, but…. prestigeus PVE armor? I tought ascended armor was prestigeus PVE armor. And i think PVP deserves armor on their own, there is plenty PVE armors in game. How come nobody rants about that weapons wvw players got for playing wvw?

Well these are some really common non specific questions. Best thing to buy with gems is well, whatever you want. Is that armor, a piece of amror, gathering tools, bl keys, makeovers… you name it. It depends on you and your preferabillity ot vanity vs useful things.

Best way to earn gold is, well selling materials you gather or get as a drop. And you can make a decent with crafting sometimes just look ul at tp sometimes to see supply and demand.

And for skins, again, totally up to you and your chars look

My main is ele and i play d/d or s/f. I used to play staff untill i realised how useless it is, in my opinion it’s for crowd control because of the walls, cripples and freezes and speed boost (like www) but in dungeons most of conditions don’t apply on bosses or last too short to be worth of applying. Lately i play s/f and it gives nice boons, does decent dmg and provides really nice survival skills, which is kind of important on lvl 45-50fractals.

I tought meta was staff, that’s why every single ele i play with is staff and i’m the outcast with my set of weapons. I really am looking what i’m doing and i use dodge since i’m in bosses close range and he could clobber me with one blow so i kind of don’t have a choice then to look at what i’m doing. The problem is ranged ones who spam 1 while updating facebook status then die for 4th time 1km away from everybody. I don’t kick, i don’t yell at them i just grind my teeth that’s all. I don’t see what the problem is.

Now, some ontopic:

I can’t hold on to in game gold. Once i get around 300gold i buy something ridiculous or craft something ridiculous and leave myself poor again, leaving myself some pocket change for wp.

Once i rage quit pvp because some guy from oposite group was throwing me advice how to play on whisper. But secretly he hepled me to be a better pvp-er i admit that i took every single advice he gave me.

Every time i open tp i browse all legendaryes and preview them and imagine how cool it would be to craft one but then i realise i’m broke and don’t have time to craft gifts.

You can range the molten zerk but on higher lvls he has much much much more hp. It would take forever to range him. Keep in mind that while on ranged the other boss spawns aoe everywhere because party is scattered and in some point the party wipes because it’s imposible to dodge.

So why is melee better? I love my ele in fractals. I make the deal with my party i freeze the zerker as soon as he appears with frost bow when he has no stacks then we have a few extra seconds to do massive dps. After that scatter and range or melee if possible. Eventually you learn how to skip zerks waves ( i play since launch and got the fire shaman and molten achievements on lvl 50 lol)

And another thing. If you didn’t start the fractal, keep your opinion for yourself. You will be kicked if acting sassy

I think i’m a little elitist zerk jerk (lol it rhymes) but only if i play with my full ascended elementalist. And we all know how much a gold sink is to craft entire light armor and ascended backitem (i have shiny fractal one) and 3 ascended weapons. If i spent gold and gold and so much effin gold on these items, if i run lvl 50 i prefer people to have proper ar and not die every time instability hits. I prefer to do a quick run with reasonable people and not leechers that spam autoattack from max range while i’m sticking my neck in front row with my 14k health and actually use dodge unlike the ranged people. I like not to wipe 7 times on the boss and do as much dmg as possible because being in dungeon 3+ hours is not appealing to me. And if i, filthy casual crafted my zerk armor and weapons with no grinding whatsoever…. please. I just want a smooth run with people who know what to do, if i’m elitist jerk because of that, so be it.

This thread is acc hackers heaven. Especially since you don’t blurr your gold amount.

If i res somebody and they don’t say ty, i follow them around and stand an inch away from behind untill they wp away.

I still have a marsh frog in my bank from the quest to put them in the juicer i collected when i was lvl 12 on my main.

My favourite thing in the game is wintersday and everything about it.

I have 100% map on 4 characters, and cringed everytime i had to complete black citidel, its a freakin iron maze and everything looks the same and usually get lost cca 10-12 times.

Sometimes when i’m feeling down i put on fairy tail soundtrack and do a full world boss killing spree and feel ever so epic.

Also when i’m feeling down i do a few pvp matches and feel like a pro.

Every female human mesmer and elementalist looks the same to me because they all have t3 cultural and i think its bland.

I think staff selection is really bad (skin wise).

Staff fire ele is the highest DPS in game. It is the go to build for additional eles in a party, with one going scepter or dagger focus for might stacks. Just wanted you to know. You should be pleased when you see a staff ele not attunement swapping unless they need to stack swiftness or want to use their earth blast.

Spamming 1 all the time with 3 signets and not moving at all at boss fights? No thanks.

Staff ele on mai trin? Witnessed today it can’t last literally 5 seconds in a fight.

Staff ele is fine on www when you need to control the crowd with stuns and freezes, but it is useless because bosses go right though it on dungeons.

Every now and then i enter a path sellers lfg and say they should be ashamed of themselves. Then exit the group.

Every time i see a staff ele i force myself not to vote kick it from a dungeon, instead i grind my teeth and watch it how he/she spams fireballs with no attument switch ever and then die max range from all of us. Then i don’t res him/her the whole run because f you start using dodge and stop checking your facebook.

I do the same from above when a necro is in a group. Or a ranger. Because max range-spamming 1 rocks.

I change my armor’s apperance way to often. Sometimes weekly.

After i flushed 200gold in mystic forge and only got a few pearl exotics i quit playing for 2 months.

I like like world completion it relaxes me.

I strongly resent people who ping precursor drops on world boss event. I’m jelous besause in 2 years of playing the most expensive item that dropped to me is a hammer worth 20 gold.

With a new warderobe system you are free to equip it any time you want after a purchase for a transmutation charge for each piece of equipement (you can.mix and match armor akins too) transmutation charges can be obtained by world completion or pvp or sometimes dailyes. And you don’t need to pay a sigle dime. Quest and make gold then convert gold to gems and buy a wanted armor. But its best to play with that once you reach 80 and find yourself a build that suits you and armor that suits you with right stats. Then transmute away

for me, drop rate improved. i try to do lvl 50 every day and i got two chests in three days. that was skyrocketing increse in rewards for me. maybe its temporary, but at least i’m going to equip my alts with ascended armor.

that is true bit also false. most of the time there is allways one, sometimes two half brained morons who think their way is the best way (even tho there is at least 5 easyer ways).

you can write : pls have some experience, 6k ac, but sometimes ppl get into groups hoping they are only ones who are goning to leech, so you might end up with 2-3 leechers which will give you a early state of an ulcer.

but thats the joy of pugging, i puged my way to lvl 50 and i became a little bit elitlist and it saved me a lot of nerves ever since.

i hope you will continue to play fractals, but be prepared for all kind of feces there especialy in pugs.

as a person who runs fractals with ele and only ele, in 1.5 years the only skin i got that is usable is staff.
and i got every skin but dagger, scepter, focus and trident (aka skins i can actually equip)
i would even go with exchange system as: 250 pristines, 50 shards of crystallized mists essence, 30 globs and 30 vials for ONE skin of choice.

I avoid kicking at any cost because, as silly it may sound and as few it sounds, i got kicked only once during pug runs in fractals, it was 3rd fractal, dredge. I tried my best and we spent around 2 and a half hours in fractals, and then out of the blue i got kicked. No reason, no explanation. I was so sad, so sad and bitter i didn’t play for a month after that. Maybe i did something wrong, but i would appreciate they told me.

I simply enjoy doing fractals, i join any party it seems ok at first sight and hope they are nice ppl.

A net has to change this awful “king” system as you call it, it’s not fair.

Did lvl 50 other day, i joined, the first thing i read in party chat was: guard, are you zerk? he replyed no… followed by: i’m going to kick you. i said pls don’t kick just he’s not zerk, maybe he is awesome player zerker or not.
And he stayed and we cleared entire 4 fractals in an hour and few minutes.
Point is, give ppl a chance don’t be kittens please.

All my guildies went into Boss Blitz to farm. So I decided to pug up lvl35 FotM.

It was a four-man guild group. Went through all the ropes, got to last champ. I get ‘Thanks for getting us this far’ in chat and a big boot out of there.

Four man guild groups are very very risky, and all you can do is hope that you won’t get kicked but you probablly will :/

maybe you are right, but after a year and a half of pugging fractals and doing 11, 21, 31 and 50 a day, i think i can tell when things go down, it affects on time spent in fractals.

so this is the new thing being highy popular among rangers apparently. On asura fractal where you get lovely harpies right before end boss, i see this disturbing trend of rangers standing on edge of a wall and spit arrows from longbow making the harpy invoulnerable which is kind of a problem for fools who melee the harpy. i see it every time there is a ranger+asura fractal. every frickn time. not one exception. not one.

then i proceed to explain hey listen we died 4 times the harpy is invul can you pls stop? come melee with us.

then they usually say we suck as a group and refuses to and continues to be useless (caution: do not say melee to ranger,on first he will be startled and flee, that word scares them)

then after 9th wipe he still refuses, and i say: ranger pls don’t be full od feces and pls come with us. he refuses and continues with explanation: I’M HELPING SHUT UP

then i got that lovely :soon to be an ulcer feeling: in my stomack, so i just ignorre him and we skip harpies.

he stays behind and dies about 5 times unable to reach us, says we suck and can’t play our classes and quits.

This. I waited out 6-8 minutes but the chat was silent after i asked them (because it took literally 2.4 seconds to kick both of them which means it was planned by whisper or TS) . So i knew why they kicked them.

I remember doing lvl 49 and the third fractal was old dredge, i was pugging and this one guy, a guardian, pulled entire dungeon, didn’t wait rest of us, we wrote in chat what are we about to do, but he just…. rushed in everything.

we tried to reason with him but it seemed like he was ignoring us. but we didn’t kick, that wouldn’t be fair to kick a guy who spent 2 hours with us on third fractal. So right before the bomb part i got a little annoyed and threw a hissy fit after 3rd wipe and i whispered the guy writing long message that he should at least respect rest of us by waiting so we can at least die together and run naked together after 7th wipe.
after a minute or so a guy wrote back saying….

i wrote back: ajajaja palomitaaaa and we laughed and completed fractal and got non infused ring.

SO, if you think your pug doing something on purpose just to annoy you, please be sure he speaks english, not everyone is fluent in english.

i just realized i did a major typo on the name of the topic :s sorry i was on my phone while writing it. @clumsy: if i recall, it said: lvl 25 swamp rdy. nothing more. during swamp and in the beginning of the hammer it went pretty smoothly, no wipe no silly downs, no rudness in the chat…. it was ok. they didn’t kick me because of conjured wepons and boons, maybe my AP (near 9k)
i agree i could miss something i can’t see everything, but i see a lot, kind of learned to spot a bad player because long time ago i pugged my way to lvl 50 fractals, and do lvl 11, 21, 31, and 50 almost daily with pugs.

when you join a pug party, you make a pact not to kick anyone and explain and be nice, unless he insults Hugh Jackman then kick away.

I have been playing for over a year now and i can’belive some things i’ve seen in dungeons mostly fractals. Few days ago i did a daily lvl 25 fractals. First one was swamp, second was the hammer one. I did pug run with two pugs who were in same guild, the ramaining three was random pugs (including me). On second fractal after we killed the boss the two guild players kicked the pug mesmer and guardian for no reason and invited their guildies. I just stood there waiting for a kick too but i guess ele is a valuable asset to the team, pug or not. The kicked players were ok players, did nothing wrong. When i realised what happened, i wrote in the party chat: did you just kicked people so you could invite your guildies? I got no reply ofc, so next thing i wrote was: you are the worst kind of players and should be ashamed of yourselves. And left the party. I just refuse to play and make an effort if i’m in constant fear of getting kicked in any moment no matter how i play. If they want they can kick me on last boss and invite a guildie to collect end chest i worked hard for. I hate that kind of players, i hate kickers i just hate them. I whish anet has some report option for that.

I’m a zerker ele and have been using divinity runes ever since i hit 80. I remember i payed around 11 gold each. What happened? The price dropped on 2 gold each, wich tells me some other rune is more….better? And since when that happened?

My pre patch collection is: 2x shortbow, longbow, rifle, speargun, harpoon, torch, sword, hammer and staff. After patch: nothing. One ascended leg box in 4 months and zero skins? There were times when i don’t even get a ring on lvl 50. I’m not saying i should get an ascended box or a skin on every run but… every 90-100th run? I could even go with that. I have around 230 pristine relics. Give me an option to swap 250 pristine relics to a skin of my desire. I could even go with that

I saw “is one girl from sweden?” In the groove several times on Gunars hold. Then some sweedish girl replyed but he kept asking the same question

yestarday, after 3 and a half hours in fractal lvl 50 (we got swamp, ascalon and hammer, last was zerker and firestorm), i got nothing. Around 7-8 ppl left from the group as we continue to die on ascalon (apparently they changed it, “hug the wall” strategy isn’t possible because of the numerous mobs along the way) but we managed somehow.

We had a laggin war who couldn’t stay alive 5 min in battle… anyway after all that suffering, not even a ring. Not even a single stinkin ring i can sell for 4 silvers. One of the party member got armor chest, other one got infused ring. The rest of us got kitten in the box.

I think ele is holding up pretty good in DPS meters, as ele is my main i switched form staff to s/f and tripled my dmg just like that, attument switch in the right time plus focus provides me excelent survivability. I think if i switch to d/d dmg would be off the charts but i suck in melee and am scared of daggers. Problem is most eles i’ve met in pugs are staff, and in my opinion staff is only for crowd control, which is bollocs in dungeons where most bosses are single targets. No crowd control needed.

Sorry for your ranger yeah i have to pug lvl 40+ fractals because my guildies don’t do fractals much because reward system is kind of crappy.
Is it just me or every single ranger i came across is kitteny know it all who preaches how everybody should play while on max range? I dunno maybe i just haven’t met that right ranger

Every single ranger i did a pug run with is max range. I have never ever saw a switch weapon button being used. Ever. Necros are allways staff with kitten load of minions doing nothing from max range. Oh sorry, they tend to die 1 milion feet away from everybody so everybody else die trying to res them. Engeneers are fine.

I hate kicking and avoid kicking at the cost of my nerves, so after a dungeon/fractal i turn off the game and don’t return a few days. To avoid that i try to get into no ranger no necro groups. Simple as that.

hmm i have to select one of my best of’s…
-staff ele on water attument that doesn’t heal you 1hp during whole run
-ele with 3 signets (staff ele ofc)
-longbow ranger who complains about melee players who died while on 1200 range
-rangers in general because i have never seen a ranger using something else then longbow/shortbow in dungeons despite the weapon switch button
-too talkative pugs that continue to die because they simply have to type in chat what they had for lunch
-when ppl randomly rant that ascended chest they got for 6th time is not the stats they wanted while i did over 1500 fractal runs and didn’t get any chests whatsoever

If you are planning to roll an ele you have to learn to dodge even if you play staff. Play the build you wanna play you don’t have to be zerk to be a valuable asset to the team. If you think melee and mid range eles die all the time, you are sadly mistaken you wouldn’t belive how much survivabillity dagger scepter and focus offer.

I first started off with staff and it was the most awesome weapon. Then i discovered the beauty of scepter/focus… and fell inlove with those skills. I play zerker and the damage i do with scepter in close combat is awesone while focus offers me superb protection if i can’t dodge or forget to dodge something. Anyway, play any build that makes you comfortable, just remember to be open to new things new builds and new weapons, dont be scared to try them.
