taken out of my personal experiance lads, and my opinion is subjective, not some excel internet screenshoot chart someone posted on reddit, some may have more positive experiaces with rangers you never know (i hope so).

2 years of fractals here, i think i was lvl 70 something before patch. Those were the times when rangers were highly wanted especially on high lvl fractals. Reason? Because last fractal was allways jade maw, and on higher lvls people would drop dead when they set one step on the last boss platform because we didn’t have proper ar. Therefore “search and rescue” was used to revive dead people (i think now it only works on downed).

Anyway, now the tables are turned. Doing daily low and high lvl fractals, in sake of my mental health I avoid joining teams with necros and rangers.

Reason? I’m gonna be extremly polite and say they are terrible.
In 2 years of fractals, i have met 2 good rangers that played their class very very good. No good necros. But this is not about necros.

I have dozen of screenshoots that i’m not going to post since i would have to do a lot of blurring and i don’t feel like it.

99.9% of rangers stay longbow on max range no matter what opponent is like.
98% are not aware that they have a weapon switch button.
97% are so occupied with spamming 1 on longbow that can’t manage to track their pet’s health and switch it on time before it dies.
40% of them like to boss other people around especially boon wise and resent if others die in melee while they are spitting arrows from 1200.
59% stay quiet and are scared to say anything so people don’t kick them while they are useless and spit arrows on 1200.
73% are not aware there is passive ability on their pet menu.
And somehow, I have no idea how, 85% of them manage to die while on 1200 and kill at least 2 more people who are dumb anough to ress them.

And if you, god forbid, have a complaint on their game style ooooh naw gulr! How dare you?? What gives you the right to complain? They don’t complain on your melee game style, what gives you the right to say anything to them?

And if you are going to attack me, yes i have a ranger and i love to play it. I use her for farming world bosses or sw or pvp because she is not usefull for anything else and i know it. Being usefull as a ranger is pretty hard because you don’t have much space for errors and it’s hard to learn to play it right and only a hand full of people know how to play it decent. So instead, they go mindless barebow spamming 1 and that’s it. Why?

Because it’s easy. Sometimes it can slide trough, sometimes you get kicked, sometimes you get kicked on sight. Is it fair? No. But lot of people kick on sight because they want to preserve their sanity during that 1-2 hour in fractals.

Just wait when you enter a zone with 25 wp, 8 vistas and 37 poi.

You can watch thousands of videos of factals and read same amount of text about it but i suggest to make your own lfg starting from lvl 1. I remember how much fun i had when i started doing it 4 months after the game launched, it was good and bad, easy runs and the ones that lasted till 4 am and everybodys armor was broken so we exchanged blues and greens to wear and pray that any ring would drop so we can get +5 ar finally start from lvl 1, and see it for yourself. Learn yourself its the best experience you can get

i’m crafting minstrel because i can’t afford anything else, my birthday passed 2 months ago so i can’t beg for a precursor and vials of powerful blood, or money for icy runes for my birthday… plus i’m doing it for myself not for a lady friend who got banned hoping i will earn extra points with her…. but can i have mats too? i’m really lazy to farm it, and i don’t feel like doing dungeons. so…please? some mats eh? pls?

A friend of mine got two dusks in first two tries in mf. He playes for a couple of months. I have been flushed around 700 gold in mf and got nothing. After the flush that happened 4 months ago now, and i have been playing for 2 something years, i gave up on the mf. I run full boss tour every day, and play every dungeon all the paths beaides arah and TA aether path. And for a month i have been struggling to make myself a minstrel aka the cheapest legendary that’s not water type. That’s right. Struggling. Collecting mats is a nightmare and i still have to grind gold for precursor and 100 icy runestones. It saddnes me.

Now i know many of you will say WELL NOBODY IS FORCING YOU TO MAKE IT! But isn’t it sad that a veteran player is unable to make the cheapest legendary? And the most expensive thing that droped me is a mini that was worth 30 gold at the time? So sad.

I used to enjoy fractals, but now since i’m grinding for gold i can’t afford to play it due to time and rewards in there. Sad.

Soooo “join my guild and you get something” ?

And here i am, scraping enough gold to make the cheapest legendary, minstrel. Played cca 3k hours, threw around 700 gold in the mf, exchanging dungeon tokens for exotics that i throw in the forge too to get some pearl shield, doing all dungeons and bosses daily and most expensive thing that dropped was a 20 gold hammer. That’s rng for me so far. Gratz.

Well look, i have no idea who this iris person is nor do i care. My point is, taking it personal when somebody blabs something stupid on map chat with your name attached to it giving it more attention that it deserves… the best thing you can do is ignorre because it’s obvious he was going for a reaction, so best punishment for him/her is to be ignorred. yeah, and if you craft the legendary cape that enables you to wear two capes unlocking special achievement and a title “Darude sandstorm” and special ability to mount your player house, also rabbits and special footsteps while riding on your house (no footsteps if you are riding a rabbit) and dueling other players while Darude-sandstorm song will follow you around. And farms where players grow dust mites.

Why wouldn’t this be the case? If everyone else in the group is using a build that is proven effective and contributes to success, why should you be exempt? And more importantly, why are they the bad guy when expectations about the current meta are clear?

As always, start your own group if you don’t want to run the right builds.

I second that. Because i sure didn’t spend 80 gold on runes and 500 gold on my armor and weapons so i can carry people in dungeons or fractals till 4 am.

What about minstrel?

This had allways been a thing since megaservers, before if you dc ed you got kicked in some random overflow. Common on large events such as tequatl or wurm.

I whish more people would know this. I just got a whisp from a veteran player when i finished TA with him who asked me why is his stealth elixir is unblastable. I play s/f and start to explain to him how ele blasting works and how much calculation it put into blasting and stacking might. We basicly have to know every other classes aoe to be able to blast right and know when to blast. Not to mention blast and do decent dmg in the same time. Funny how eles are labled as keybord faceroll classes.

I find it insulting that some skins that i previously used on my weapons aren’t in my warderobe. Like SAB scepter and staff, and much more that i transmuted before the warderobe system was implemented. So sad.

They will make one underwater only zone. Mark my words.

It’s because ore nodes don’t spawn at the same place after the reset.

As a person who had to carry 4 ppl yesterday in silly lvl fractals and after that i whished not to play gw2 for a week, and two of those were necro and a ranger, and sadly one warr, i stay away from necros and rangers. From minions and no passive pets on dredge boss where i had to pull the lava and dps the boss and ress people who do like 1dps, to that same people running like a headless chicken through snowstorm just to aggro every single mob on the face of the earth on ice fractal. You can all say: well i play necro/ranger so well it’s unfair that i am kicked on sight! But lets be serious for a second. What are the chances that you are one on 10 000 players that can play the class efficiently near perfect? Because if you do play necro or ranger your play would have to be near perfect. As a elementalist who is full zerk i also have little space to make mistakes because if boss looks at me wrong and i don’t dodge i will die, and i have to maintain might stacks and protection same as condition clenses and good dps.

Sorry but i avoid rangers and necros for a reason, the reason is not raging and stress myself instead enjoing a nice fast run.

Forced? FORCED? are you kidding me? Who is focing you do to it? You sir can skip dailyes completly. Even act they are not there. Pvp daily is literally done in one match. One played match. Pve is mining 3 ore nods and view a vista. Omg that IS sooo hard. WvW is kiling one dolyak and capture a point. Again, that sounds nearly impossible to achieve!!!

And i dunno if you noticed, but, you can do pvp, pve or wvw daily. Instead of posting a kitten lazy post about “forcing” you to to something in game, you could actually do your daily.

If they implemented mounts, then wp system that worked for 2 years pretty good, would be useless. I guess you will have to get chills off flying carpet and broom.

Today i decided to craft legendary focus. Yea it’s not so glamurous but it’s all i can afford right now. As a person who play this game only for the fun not grind, it’s all i can afford. I think its nice.

As a might stacking ele using scepter/focus in 2 something years i got kicked twice. One lfg was ugly=kick, other was when i joined a grawl lvl 50 and they asked for a guard.

So in my experience and stuff i hear and see kick happy group is:

a) group of guildies
b) extreme elitist that ask to ping gear and kick you if you have 1 wrong sigil/rune/weapon
c) people that think AP=experience
d) if you are a necro or ranger max range
