How do I correctly report a guild/player who kicked someone for no reason?

From Gail as part of a thread in the Account Issues forum:
Kicked from a dungeon how to report people
Secondly, if you have screenshots proving abuse by another player, you should feel free to contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page. Attach your screenshots, and provide the time, timezone, and date the issue occurred. They can look into the matter and take whatever action is appropriate in this particularly situation.
(I edited it to the relevant portion – click to go to the full thread for context).
I think that Gem prices need to be controlled by Anet, so that they can match gold sellers prices. Why they haven’t already done this, makes zero sense to me.
Because no player in their right mind would exchange gold for gems/dollars at the prices that the gold sellers do. The only reason the gold sellers are able to do it so cheaply is because they use bots and exploits.
Every time you think to yourself that you don’t get enough gold for your money through the gem store, flip it around and ask yourself if you earned that amount of gold in game through legitimate farming, would the time and effort it took you to get that much gold be worth that amount of money.
Right then, no matter how I try, including the add post delete method, the forum is not giving me full icons so I cannot properly quote as I wanted.
There is a work around for not being able to quote/report/edit.
As for the back side, the monster turn too fast even instantly, by right the monster should take even longer to turn to the back to face me and attack. Even players need some time to turn the screen to the back, left and right.
Actually there is an action called “about face” that players can map to a hot key. I keep it mapped just for you tricksy thieves.
I have stepped out of the range of melee attacks and projectiles – it’s all about timing though, and melee range seems to be more of a cone. I don’t know if the auto-attack is just too fast to reliably move out of the way of, or if it’s intentional that it always hits if you’re in range when it starts.
What is the purpose of this thing ? Wiki chief recipes are a lot easier to use and allow you to find things faster.
This allows me to sort by effect better than I can locate the information through the wiki
Also, you can use it to get the complete ingredients for a recipe, so you have some idea of the true cost to make it. It’s most useful not as a reference for finding recipes, but as a way of tracking recipes once you’ve discovered them.
Now all we need to do is hook it up to gw2spidy.com and get real time prices in there If things were slower at work I’d try to figure it out.
DCUO does this fantastically, allowing you to change appearance on the fly and making different styles rewards for quests etc.
Being able to “Unlock” a particular look for weapons and armour and then being able to change to it at will would be fantastic. Okay, I know that transmutation stones are a major form of monetisation for ArenaNet, so make every style change use a stone.
I loved the way DCUO handled this and I would be fine with a consumable being required to swap or collect looks.
I don’t necessarily want an entirely separate paper doll for appearance. I like the way the dyes are handled – click a button to get into style mode and select from the styles you’ve collected in a pane on the left. Maybe you could use the transmutation stone to get the style into your collection in the same way that you consume a dye. Instead of common/uncommon/rare sections it would be head/shoulders/chest/hands/legs/feet. It would probably take some thought to keep it from getting too cluttered though.
Personally I would of thought more armour skins would of been at the forefront of the gem store, but this isn’t the case, and am a bit bewildered as to why Anet didn’t go that route as I’m sure more people would of been inclined to spend more on gems, and I’m almost certain others would of thought the same.
I think they will come in the future. There are a lot of special skins that you can earn in the game, and my guess is that they wanted to get those in place before offering ones you can just buy.
My husband has done some 3D modeling/texturing, and the amount of work the art in GW2 represents is astounding. I think they did enough armor skins and town clothes to give folks a taste of what was coming and deferred the rest until after folks have explored what’s available in the game a bit more.
I work in a call center. Answering a call and hear this right after I say hello: “GET ME YOUR KITTENING SUPERVISOR”
I think all call center jobs should come with a free supply of endurance regeneration boosters.
Something to keep in mind for aggro which I’ve seen work in another MMO I was in is that CC and condition damage type stuff could have a big impact as well. That Blind AoE you threw up for no damage could well override a Thief’s dps coming from behind, depending on how such factors are weighted. Similarly, some trivial DoT poison might each increment the aggro counter more then a burst from someone else. It could be pretty tough to separate all these factors out.
I’ve found this to be true with my condition ranger. My DPS is pretty middling, but I interrupt/debuff a lot and stack burns/bleeds/poison. Certain mobs just want me dead no matter what. I’ve seen the same thing happen warriors that stun a lot.
Aww and here I thought it was a newfangled hipster word. What a load of kittens. (am I doing it right?) :P
I’m not a hipster, but kitten has definitely become my favorite word to use for emphasis when posting in forums now.
So far, the best substitution was “if I can escape the 4th quarter kitten storm at work”. That’s a much better visual than the word I normally would have used
You can change up your skills on the fly for a reason – Blind is awesome for certain types of enemies (big attacks) , and not so great for other types (rapid multiple attacks).
I think the biggest mistake the folks having a hard time with dungeons make is assuming that one set of skills should be used for every fight in there.
Bank expansion is by far the most valuable to me.
I have to admit that I bought the chef outfit and pirate outfit when they were on sale. I love the silly toys that come with them – it’s a fun way to kill time waiting for your team outside a dungeon. I think the non-sale price was a bit steep though.
I don’t know that there’s a “worst” item… I don’t have a lot of interest in the box o’ fun but I can see that it’s kind of neat for guild events. I don’t have a lot of interest in black lion chest keys – the results are too random and the tonics, while fun, take up too much bank space. If there was a collection tab for tonics, I’d be all for opening the 50+ chests I have in my bank (thank goodness they stack!)
Just heard this today in Sector Zuhl
“You can knock us down, but we’ll always stand back up!” We’re like weebles." —Dredge Controller
There has been no price manipulation, there is a transaction fee, I don’t feel these are the same thing.
Call it whatever you want, third party seller’s prices reflect what a real competitive market on gems and gold looks like with no price controls.
I disagree with that – the gold farmers are NOT getting their gold the same way players are… they’re using bots and exploits which makes their acquisition of gold a lot cheaper.
Bootleggers were also well known for commiting all kinds of different crimes other than making illegal drink for the same reason. I never said it would stop the 3rd party gold farming either. It would have put Anet more in control of it just like the end of prohibition put the govt. in control of booze and reduced alot of other crime.
I specifically disagreed with is that “third party seller’s prices reflect what a real competitive market on gems and gold looks like with no price controls".
The black market will always be less expensive if you only look at the price of the goods – the hidden cost is the risk of participating in it.

Nope, I think you read it wrong.
I’m right now on Henge of Dervani because a guild I joined was based there.
My impression of HoD is that it primarily attracts WvW folks. If folks from your guild are never on when you’re on, maybe it’s time to look for another guild?
I’m in US/Central and I’ve found Yak’s bend to be a pretty middle of the road server – maybe leaning a bit more toward PvE. Folks are usually around to help out with champs, lots of folks looking for dungeon runs, and there are a number of large guilds around of varying play styles.
One thing that made me happy to be on Yak’s was the way we handled a jerk that exploited to steal an orb in WvW. Not happy we have exploiters, but I doubt any server is free from them.
Correct me if I am wrong but wasn’t the game designed to be supported by microtransactions?
I don’t think so. If it was, the game client would be free or much less expensive. We pay for the basic game and have the opportunity to buy additional convenience/just for fun items for much less than an expansion. Permanent upgrades to your account, like extra character slots or bank expansions should be expensive. I much prefer that to the Hellgate model where you rent extra stash space.
I haven’t seen any of ANet’s business strategy documents, but from the outside it looks like they’re relying on a few folks willing to pay more less frequently than strong arming lots of folks into paying a little bit all the time.
I don’t understand why folks think cheap goods on the TP is a bad thing. Selling things on the TP isn’t the only way to generate income, so it seems to me that having the stuff that is easy to find be really inexpensive is a good thing.
Decent wages + cheap, plentiful goods is part of a high standard of living.
Very few folks are going to put anything of real value on there for 1c over vendor, and even if they do, it will get snatched up right away and not hang around long enough to drop the price.
Did I not just say I tried that? An hour or so later and the chatbox still only has one message in it: my own.
What server are you on and what times do you usually play (in UTC)?
It sounds like you’re on a server that has a peak time that’s very different from the times you play. Maybe some folks here could recommend a server for you that matches your play times better so you can switch over before the free transfers end.
Yes, I would be upset. I couldn’t send my husband twink money for his alts. I couldn’t contribute to my guild mates for commander books, or crafting services.
Heck, I helped someone out with a jumping puzzle and they tipped me a silver which I thought was really nice of them.
The solution is to not take away useful services from players, the solution is to make it unprofitable for gold sellers by shutting down the exploits that allow them to generate gold with less effort than players. If you read the reddit I am a programmer for Guild Wars 2, AMAA, there’s good news on that front.
One of my best game moments lead to one of my least forgettable moments… The favorite moment – I found one of the hidden jumping puzzles in Lion’s without even knowing there were hidden jumping puzzles. I just got curious about a light at the back of a cave and started investigating. That was the only “secret” I ever found in a game on my own, and I was quite thrilled.
So this lead to a terrible habit of jumping up on everything that looks like it might hold my weight. I was indulging my bad habit in Lion’s Arch and slipped. The fall was spectacular and I ended up as a Norn shaped stain in Mystic Plaza. Folks gathered around attempting to piece me back together and one asked “So… how did you die crafting?”. I was tempted to start a rumor about dangerous Mystic Forge recipes but resisted the urge
This is awesome – I love being able to sort the dishes by stats. Thanks for the all the work you put into it.
If you’re just mashing all your skills every time they’re available, you’re not being as effective as you could be. You probably don’t notice when you’re running with the zerg, but if you go 1v1 with a champ or player that knows what they’re doing, you will.
The original question was (paraphrased) “Anyone know what the current sales figures are because I’m curious about them”. You absolutely need sales figures to answer that question.
Also, the search box works really well. Type in “staple” and you not only get the recipe, but also recipes it is an ingredient in. Just don’t make the same mistake I did and forget you have the “have ingredients” box checked.
Is bowl of soup staples a discovery? I have it under the cooking ingredients section (not soups), and if you can’t make it yet there are a LOT of discoveries you have yet to find.
I don’t remember any discoveries with celery… there’s a purchased recipe, the soup vegetables, and maybe a dye. I’ll have to check when I get home from work.
You have to wait for NCSoft to release their 3rd quarter earnings report.
Uhm, thanks but I have no idea what all that means. When will this new earnings report be out and does it show number of sales only or also current active accounts? (I apologies for sounding dense, I don’t know anything about this sort of thing)
Every publicly owned company has to publish how well they did financially for their investors. If you download the PDF for the second quarter results, you can see some charts showing the performance of the NCSoft published games. GW 2 wasn’t released at the time that report was made, so you won’t see much in there. Any numbers that aren’t in those earnings reports, or in a press release from the company are pure speculation. A lot of companies are announcing their third quarter results, so it should be soon.
I know the reports look a little intimidating at first, but it is worthwhile learning how to read them, because the numbers in them have to be accurate or the company opens themselves up to all sorts of problems. If you want to know “how successful was game X”, and it was published by a publicly traded company, those reports your best source of information.
Edit— Usually companies do a press release with each quarter’s results. It’s a little easier reading than the actual report. Keep an eye on http://www.plaync.com/en/news/press-releases/
From another thread, regarding number of players:
No one outside of the company will have anything related to an accurate number, and unless a press statement is made, no company employee will say.

You have to wait for NCSoft to release their 3rd quarter earnings report.
No way currently, but there are a number of threads in the suggestions forum requesting better guild tools. You might want to add your voice to some of them.
There was a thread with a youtube video a while back that did a good job of explaining how certain combinations of sigils in main hand and off-hand weapons work:
I’m guessing that will be your next question as you start to dig into off-hand weapon mechanics.
You can always use a transmute stone to get the upgrade into a new piece of armor. I’m not sure, but if all you put over into the new armor is the upgrade and not the look of the karma helm, you should be able to salvage it back out.
I vote to keep Champions as hard as they are, but up the rewards for soloing.
The fight is the reward People don’t climb Mt. Everest because there’s a gold bar waiting for them at the top.
It really is awesome. I found this spot that was probably outside of where I was expected to be able to go when I was looking for some clues to a jumping puzzle. I didn’t realize it until I started moving my camera around and could all the sudden see through solid rock.
Lovely view, even if I was afraid of tripping and breaking my neck and the lighting was a little wonky.
Oh here’s another one from a spot I was able to jump up to, that appeared to be there just to give me a safe place to take a break from the Dredge.

One example is the frying pan that comes with the Cook’s outfit from the gem store. They are like the weapons you can pick up, but you can’t use them in combat.
I’m having a blast with that stupid thing… I just grabbed the pirate’s outfit too while it’s on sale, but I haven’t put it on a character yet.
Have you tried doing anything in this game in real life??? Don’t pull that card
Lighten up, it was a joke. Well, more of a quip actually.
Besides, have you ever tried to run backwards in real life? It doesn’t work out well with no third person camera to look behind you :P
There’s game play reasons for it – there are a number of skills that have added effects when flanking – if you could move as quickly facing a mob as you can not facing it, you would be harder to flank.
I believe whoever executed the finisher gets the effect, although the combo counts for both players toward the achievement. Not 100% certain, but pretty sure. The most visible evidence I have is when a warrior leaps through my fire field – only he gets fire armor, not me.
There is some good information about combos on the wiki. A couple of things that might have caused you to not see projectile finishers doing what you expect :
Like I said, people can already do this. 50 people can already run around a TP trader swinging their weapons and spamming abilities if they want so your point is still invalid.
People can run around spamming abilities, but they can’t actually duel. How does that make my opinion that people beating each other up in the middle of the TP is a bad idea invalid? Pretending to fight is not the same thing as actually fighting, or this thread wouldn’t exist.
Unless you want to disable abilities entirely at the “bank, trading places and major zone inns in cities.” which is just not logical, just implement a normal dueling feature where people can duel anywhere at anytime without having to ‘pretend’.
How about we don’t allow people to brawl in the bank, or the TP, or any other place where folks are trying to do something else? What’s logical is for folks that want to duel to head to an arena. Besides arenas have places for spectators. Might be nice to do a little (virtual) book making.
There isn’t currently a way to disable it that I know of – it’s definitely annoying though, so maybe this needs to go into the suggestions forum?
Oh, and scroll lock is the best choice I’ve found for push to talk – very few games use it for anything. I map it to my middle mouse button though because it’s a pain to get to on my keyboard.
I use a condition build on my ranger because I can easily stack bleeds, burning, and poison. I don’t know that my +condition damage transfers to my pet, but I mostly use the pets to put down combo fields anyhow. It’s been working out really well.
I think having a prompt for expensive items (whether it’s gold, karma, or tokens) would solve most of the issue.
Online games have a sensitivity to moving items into and out of player inventories. Allowing players to purchase then return token/karma items are where exploits can start. Not saying it’s impossible to prevent problems, just saying it’s a lot more risky than putting in a confirmation prompt.
If it does get added, I’d like to see it done in arenas like the one in the Black Citadel. That way the folks that are interested in dueling can find each other, and I don’t have to deal with folks dueling in the streets.
I really like the way City of Heroes handled this… You could give a player a 1-5 star rating and add a short note. I could see the rating I gave that player over their nameplate regardless of which of their characters they were playing. It was private, so my ratings had no impact on other how other folks’ perceived that player.
This let me visually identify if there was someone nearby that I had enjoyed playing with, and let me avoid the folks I didn’t have a good experience with.
There’re probably interested players out there, but it’s unlikely to happen. The thing is leveling areas are already desert now. Dynamic Events are designed to be played with other players, but yet they are alone most of the time and have trouble leveling smoothly. Anet are aware of the problem. Allowing player to change class instead of rolling alts will accentuate the problem.
I’m going to post just to Thank you for bringing the first viable, and strong, argument to the table.
I’m going to quote you both and echo your sentiments. Also, changing classes/races is basically paying to skip content, which I think is a bad idea. If you want to try out other classes at max level, you can always go into the Mists.
However, I like to travel on my summer break for around a month, which has gotten me kicked from a guild I’ve been with for the whole year and which was perfectly suitable for me.
The way guilds I’ve been in handle that is that you notify the leadership that you’re going to be away for a while, but intend to return. If the guild can’t accommodate an extended summer holiday they’re not the type of folks I want to play with.
I still think if you’re worried about folks judging your activity level, you haven’t found a good fit.
Well, I get why every guild leader is asking for this feature. (Was there anyone who isn’t a guild leader / officer above me?)
I’m just a rank and file member and I would like to see this column. If you’re worried about getting unfairly kicked for inactivity/not-representing, maybe you’re in the wrong style of guild?
The larger the player base, the more extreme folks get on the forums to draw attention to their posts. It doesn’t matter that there are already 100 threads on the forums that say exactly what the rabid poster intends to say in his, ahem, constructive criticism, he needs to get attention for his thread. It cuts both ways too – not just the folks criticizing the game, but also the folks scolding the folks for having an opinion different from their own. It’s basically a battle where folks attempt to make their opinion look like it is the majority opinion so that it is somehow better than the opposing opinion.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and sometimes folks get a little cranky when they feel strongly about something. There is plenty of constructive criticism on this forum, but I think some folks don’t really understand how to make their complaints constructive. Here’s a hint – it is never useful to disparage the character of the person you’re trying to help with your constructive criticism.
I really wish the ignore function worked a bit better, but here’s how I cope in the meantime:
If they nerfed him, he wouldn’t be a champion any more. You should take it as a challenge to buff up your ability, not ask that champs be made easier.
If you can’t kill him solo, put a call out in map chat. It’s supposed to take more than one person to bring down a champion. It doesn’t always though, I’ve been able to kill a couple solo.
