No, there aren’t.
How is using the word “toon” more annoying than an all-caps forum name?
Seriously, if you get annoyed by a word commonly used in practically every MMO, you should wonder whether or not you’re too easily aggrevated.
Ow, also add to the list:
Repair costs are too high. People are taking no risks because they have to pay hefty repair bills to repair their exotics. Last night me and 1 other guy reported a supply camp being under attack by 4 characters. 3 ppl showed up, I assumed to help kill the attackers. But no, those 3 just stood there watching while me and that other guy attacked and got killed. How is 5 versus 4 a risk? I suggest removing repair costs from WvWvW because some ppl will never grow a spine.
However, what you’re looking for is Asura tech. The T3 staff costs 69,000 Karma and it glows purple with a purple mist coming off it.
Are there any alternatives for non-Asura?
Cultural Weapons have no race restriction!
Seriously, you made my day
I assumed the cultural weapons were race restricted like the armour.
Imho some of the T1 and T2 sets look better than T3 and because the sets need a transmute to lvl80 exotic pieces with the right stats anyway, looking for the lower Tiers just saves a lot of gold. I agree the T3 prices seem pretty insane for what you get but 50G would still be too much for a mere rare set. You’re not paying for the stats and item rarity though but for something unique to your race so I wouldn’t want to see this changed if I’m honest.
However, what you’re looking for is Asura tech. The T3 staff costs 69,000 Karma and it glows purple with a purple mist coming off it.

Pretty much everything what GregT says. Add to that the annoying Commanders spamming one-word “orders” on the chat:
“Bridge!”
“Ballista!”
“ATTACK!”
and the bad performance of my mediocre PC in WvWvW (especially bad in Eternal Battlegrounds) and I end up enduring WvWvW for 2 nights a month to get the kills for karma and mystic coins but not any more than that.
A lot of ppl complain about Orr being a pain in the behind but WvWvW sucks about a trazillion times as much.
Lion Arch is just too small for main city
) i mean the center is lacking of space lol so crowded all day and so dark..
Speaking of space and crowding, I’ve been annoyed by the placement of the mystic forge ever since beta, but I thought it was petty to say anything about it. That place is the primary gathering place in LA, and here’s the HUGE forge right in the dead center of it. Why couldn’t they have put it closer to the edge, near the crafting area, or where the twin bridges over the canal are is beyond me.
Phew, I finally got that off my chest.
It’s not like Arenanet dropped a huge forge in the middle of a crowd. The forge was there first, it’s the players who choose to gather around it. Move the forge to the sewers and ppl will move to the sewers as well, probably. I honestly don’t see what’s wrong with a forge in the middle of a rather spacious square.
It IS kinda weird that you spend 80 levels getting all races, factions and some tribes together to face the big bad reptile of death when in the end you’re stuck on finding 4 players to do the job with. I understand how frustrating it is to play 99% of a game in a casual, independant way to discover that you can’t finish the very last part just because you fail to find a group willing to do Arah story mode with you.
Also all dungeons count as night, glows all the time : )
Oh that’s nice!
Recently I’ve been trying to do story mode dungeons, as I’ve only done half of them and only on one character and don’t want to miss out on the story parts. But I’ve found that it gets increasingly harder to fing a party that wants to go story mode – doing a story mode dungeon takes relatively long and doesn’t reward, at all. I very much fear that my alts won’t ever see a story mode simply because noone goes there unless they HAVE to.
At the moment, doing explorable mode is possible for a party as long as at least 1 character did story mode. I’ve already been in full parties for explorable dungeons where noone had the story mode done, and someone had to switch to a different character to allow the party to enter exp mode. It won’t be long before close to 4 out of 5 characters won’t have story modes.
My proposal would be this: make it attractive to do every story mode once on every character. For instance, reward every character that completes a story mode dungeon for the first time (after implementation) a number of tokens related to that dungeon. No need to make it a large number, I guess 15 or so would do.
If you never get tired of snow, choose Norn. Personally I found the Charr areas to be thought out much better. There’s just so much history and lore (mostly human) in the Charr areas and they’re clearly prepared for war. The ongoing peace negotiations between Charr and humans, all the signs of war effort (camps, bulwarks, war machines)… I totally love it. I found the Norn areas too much “all the same” and skipped them where I could to level elsewhere.
Got both a Charr warrior and Norn ranger @ 80.
Such a description is often called a “flavor text” and just there for lulz, lore, role playing purposes. Enjoy them but don’t expect them to mean more than that.
I got completion for my daily events in AC Ghost Eater path as well last night. I’m pretty sure I saw beating Lt Kohler contribute to that as well.
Several ppl I know (some of my guildies among them) are worried that using a karma booster before quaffing a month achievement’s load of karma jugs (or even more) might be considered an exploit. I searched and it seems a well-known fact that the boosters do indeed boost the jugs (as do guild banners), but I can’t find anywhere whether or not Arenanet considers this to be working as intended or indeed an exploit.
Could we please get an official statement on this?
I thought it might of had an issue but haven’t used it enough to tell for sure, now I know I wasnt imagining it … #f3, pet walks over and looks at you as if to say “what what whaaaaaat?”, die ….
So as a ranger, never charm a Skritt XD
I too can confirm this skill doesn’t always work, but it still gets on cooldown when used. I haven’t reported it yet though because I figured it might not be usable if your pet still gets hit in combat.
Sometimes it does work though so I’m still not sure whether or not the skill does what it’s meant to do.
If I’m correct, the weapon skin for Volcanus is exactly the same as the summoned Fiery Greatsword (elementalist utility skill). If you want to see how it looks in the hands of your character, you could ask around if there’s an elementalist on your server who could summon one for you, then pick it up and see how it looks.
I love the Order of Whispers medium chest piece, and will transmute its looks to an exotic soon. For a female ranger, I hate all the pirate stuff and trench coats. Those are nice for male thieves and engineers, imho.
Great! Time to get the remaining tears then and get me a nice smokey axe.
But there was (or is) a bug that made the weapons glow only if the night only started when you were already in the zone, the glow would disappear after zoning or on weapon swap. Are any of the ghastly weapons still bugged?
I’m hoping to get the axe soon (need 120 more tears so 2 paths) but I’d hate to see it bugged.
It doesn’t disable them at all, all you do is slow them down for a couple of seconds. All what happens is that the bot dies, respawns at nearest waypoint, run back and start farming again. You don’t even saddle them up with a repair bill, as bots are usually running around in their undies. If you want to effectively disable the bots, you’re gonna ahve to stay with the, and give them a piece of scrap metal as soon as they return from the waypoint. Which prevents you from doing anything else. Good luck :P
I hate bots as much as you do and I love messing with them as much as you do. But calling it “a partial solution” is way off. All we can do is report them and wait for Anet to handle it.
Thanks for the confirmation! Good to know it’s even on the list.
So i’ve got my helmet which has 2 superior rune of the ogre on it. I decided to buy 4 more, after putting them on the helmet i found out it didn’t upgrade it at all? The 4 runes are gone and it’s still 2/6…
You can only put 1 rune on an item. You should’ve put the other runes on 4 other, different armour parts. If you try to put a rune on an item that already has an upgrade you see a warning that this action will overwrite the current upgrade, destroying the current upgrade in the process. I guess you ignored this warning.
Indeed, very impractical. Sometimes other party members CAN invite ppl I can’t (by rightclicking). And some ppl have names with weird characters so typing /invite playername isn’t always an option.
Could spend it on cultural armor, just for looks?
I love how, in contrast to other MMOs, there’s a couple of zones where even as well-geared max level character, you gotta watch your steps. In most other games you lose all sense of danger once you get to max level and gear up.
I love the big temple events (when not bugged) and the temple karma gear (although I hate the silly pirate look of medium armor, transmuted the temple pieces with Order of Whispers looks as soon as I got them).
I love many of the events although the overly farmed ones are boring and there usually is a lack of players to do the other ones.
Very annoying bug. Last night I did a part of my personal story where I had to allow myself (and an NPC) to be imprisoned by Krait, escape, fight my way to the top of the Krait tower, release the NPC, then go down to the bottom of the lake to fight a water monster and retrieve an artifact. Guess what, with the NPC dead, all my skills on cooldown and my health low the water monster decides he wants to go invulnerable and heals up, effectively giving me the middle finger.
Im quite sure its working as intended. It glows at night which it should. Not sure what you mean that its missing the “burn” feature
Normal torches have a flame that lights up the environment, this one doesn’t seem to have that.
I ended up making my 6th character a Sylvari guardian. Why Sylvari? Because that’s the only race I haven’t played much yet. Bad reason probably and I’m not sure I’m gonna stick to my choice. Sylvari guardian just seems wrong for some reason. Lorewise, I’d prefer human but I already have a human character I’m gonna keep. And I’m not sure I want to level in human zones again.
Choices, choices…
The pet is mentally a squirrel but born with the body of a bear
poor thing
"Raw Candy Corn" harvesting nodes briefly visible after Halloween special event
Posted by: Paradox.5498
I saw one on my minimap last night in the Mount Maelstrom map, and I briefly saw the 3D-model of a candy corn mining node a while later (not the same location but still in Mt M)
If you’re lucky the Mad King Says event is busy when you arrive in Lion’s Arch, participate and find your (town clothing) hat in the chest after the event finishes.
Which server, for instance.
After transmuting the storm eye graphic is glitched!!!!
Same holds true for all the other elementalist’s starter head pieces. Has been bugged and reported since launch and unfortunately not addressed yet.
The transmuted head pieces do show on the character selection screen but not in game.
Dagger skill 1 has a very small range, aren’t you just standing out of range? Because if you do, A is normal behaviour and B would be the obvious result.
There’s plenty of threads about this bug and not just for the flame eye but for the other elementalist’s starter head pieces as well. See for instance:
Sadly this bug has been known from the start and hasn’t been addressed yet.
the point of complaining about it – its not a fun event, its just a grind and a bore. Don’t sit there and tell me you had fun carving 150 of these suckers.
I am looking for fun events, not boring mindless time sinks. GW2 was supposed to be above all that mindless drek.
I got the title without much effort, there’s pumpkins everywhere and if you pay attention where they are, you’ll pretty much get it without spending extra time on it. if you think THIS is grinding, you haven’t got a clue what grinding is. But as you complain about it, I guess you’re not gonna finish it anyway because there’s no point in doing so.
This is a well-known bug for all the elemenalist starter head pieces. Unfortunately it still doesn’t seem to be fixed although it was reported by many players right after game release.

Nasty :-S On Piken Square all the doors on that exact same location worked fine last night. I read somewhere on this forum doors can be bugged on purpose by dropping cauldrons or mad king’s table thingies on the spawn point of the doors but I haven’t seen any confirmation that that’s right. If so this should get addressed as ppl often start costume brawling while waiting for new doors to spawn.
On the server I play on (Piken Square) the doors in Gendarran Fields worked fine last night, even the ones that were bugged the night before. Farmed doors for a large part of the evening and got several hundred loot bags. Obviously not everyone is experiencing the same problem. Did you check whether other ppl on your server had the same issue with the doors that did work?
Rare Halloween Mats: Just from Personal ToTs alone (which you can get 16 per character per day for a total of 80)
Absolutely false. I got a lot of them even from normal tot dropped by huntin ghosts popping outside doors, and tot from mining points.
Absolutely false again. What you’re referring to is ToT-bag, what he’s referring to is PERSONALISED ToT-bag. They’re different things, the personalised version has a much higher drop rate of the rare crafting materials.
By the way, if you have materials to craft Mad King chests in the mystic forge: these chests are a great source of rare crafting mats as well, often dropping as many as 7 chattering skulls / plastic fangs / nougat centres.
Edit: Reminds me I should refresh more often. XD
I don’t gauge fun by how much stuff I get out of an RNG chest…
Exactly! For me the fun is in exploring Halloween-decorated LA, doing Halloween events, the book hunt. The chance of getting freebies from bags and chests is a mere bonus. People who keep complaing they’re mad / disappointed because they didn’t get a free weapon skin (yet, Halloween is not even halfway) are completely missing the point.
Dunno why but Arenanet removed the Personalized ToT bags from those locations during last patch. See this announcement:

So, no bug I guess.
For me the only water buckets that NEVER worked are the ones needed for waking up drunk ppl at Lornar’s Pass. The ones needed for watering crops in Queensdale I can SOMETIMES not get to work, no matter where and how I use them. Last time I saw them fail, they also failed at extinguishing fire when a bandit event started with bandits setting stacks of hay a fire.
OoooooOOoOOOOOOoooOOOOOOO!!!! Anet make it happen plx!
Also you can carve every pumpkin once on every character every day. And the number of carved pumpkins is recorded account-wide so all characters contribute to the same achievement.
You’ve probably put it on autocast. You can disable that by control+rightclick on the icon. Then it won’t keep casting as soon as it’s off cooldown.
I’ve yet to do the Arah story mission but as you say that shouldn’t matter. Done everything up to having to kill Zhaitan though.
Then you haven’t finished your Personal Story, and you won’t get the token until you do.
Isn’t that in contradiction to what Jeffrey just said.
He said you don’t have to do the dungeon story mode to get the token. Though I’m likely misreading it.
You ARE misreading it. He doesn’t say you don’t have to do the dungeon story mode, just that doing it doesn’t reward the token. Finishing your personal story does, of which Arah sm is one of the steps.
