Not really. If its going to require t-stones/crystals. I see stones/crystals needed for weapons/armors we can get multiples of (like existing stuff) , but not for stuff like the single use single item meta achievement rewards (and gemstore armors). Those need to be put in the Achievement panel where we can use them as many times as we want. If wardrobe using the stones/crystals, its not any better than it currently is, in fact they might as well have not even worked on it.
I whole heartedly disagree. I absolutely agree with needing transmutation items to use the skins. The only ones I would want to see in the achievement panel would ONLY be the LS rewards.
This game really does need a wardrobe function. They would make 10 times the style sales in the store if we could wear and rotate multiple outfits in combat. I have talked to countless players that have said they don’t buy clothes and armor skins from the store for only one reason – no wardrobe.

Alright I see it like this… I feel as though after this has happened as many times as it has, there could possibly an underlying issue that we as players do not know about, and its not really worth the effort to explain to people their reasoning behind it. Or it could be complete ineptitude. Whatever works for me. As I said before, this also effected my guilds raid and we even discussed the silliness behind it. The difference here being we moved on
as people and continued having fun and let it be forgot. Where as you decided to get in a huff and post some pretty idiotic assumptions about how anet “doesn’t go to wvw sub forums” and they have a low priority for wvw. It makes you look like a kittening moron, and does absolutely nothing to address a situation that I feel, regardless if its a minor annoyance, doesn’t deserve much attention. Also, seeing as not much has come from those multitudes of posts, someone at anet probably feels the same way.“I hope everyone understands now”
Dear angry, disillusioned anet pve gamer:
You’re the FIRST person that I know of who actually thinks that anet cares for wvw as much as they care for pve. I thought it’s already a proven fact that wvw is low on the priority list as compared to pve.
Obviously, it’s not a minor annoyance and a situation that “doesn’t deserve attention” when there are multitudes of posts from many customers expressing their concerns.
Well, maybe those posts didn’t get attention because most are posted in the wvw sub forum which even the anet wvw developer doesn’t go (yes, there are topics about it). That’s why I am trying to see if it would get anet’s attention if I post it here.
This is good kitten, we should keep going
I would like to clarify I am not a “pve gamer”. It kinda hurts my feelings cus, like, I generally wvw and stuff. I also do that spvp kitten (you should see how those guys feel about being rejected by anet, almost makes you wanna cry). My general pve experiences involve getting meta achieves and farming dat dragonite yo. Next, you still sound angry and stuff. I suggest either a few beers or some pot. But don’t do that kitten a lot, it’ll make you dumb. Moving right along here, let’s get to bewhat anet does or does not care about. I still view all of your comments to be convoluted and ignorant in their essence therefore its hard to actually justify your points (save for the original issue of patching the game shortly after reset). Can I also say, this has been really fun so far.
Dear anet pve gamer,
I think any customer would have this tone, when they are ignored:

Dear raging gamer,
While I understand your frustration towards the inconveniences that were experienced (alas, my guild was also disrupted by this occurrence) last night after the wvw reset, I feel as though your post was made more out of anger and has no constructive criticism to offer up for proper discussion. Also, your back handed comments are really quite off target and do not represent actual reality, but the twisted one you apparently experience. I hope you get better.I didn’t see much rage. He has a valid point.
Dear random citizen,
Thank you for the input. I too feel there was a valid point brought up in the OP’s post, but in a very angry and demeaning manner. I instead like to approach it with a different tone. One that permeates mutual respect between gamer and developer.
PS. Lul

The problem is not Anet is the ppl who think the LS is a " temporary grind for achievements, rewards and zerging". All i see is me saving Lion’s Arch, there is no grinding for me,zerging?!?!? It’s a war,do you see in war parties of 5 fighting other party of 5 or stuff like that? Are you forced to get all those achievements? I like to have everything that i like, that’s why i am full ascended and i will get the skin from the LS,the title etc. That is not grind for me and if you think that’s a grind well better don’t do it.
Grind my have a different definition for others,i consider grind the champ farms, that’s why i don’t do that…
A grind by mmorpg definition is doing the same action over and over again to obtain some pixelated results.
If you have full ascended you grinded for it.
If you are getting the LS skins you grinded for those.
Pot meet kettle?
Are you the official mmorpg dictionary word definer?
On a more serious note, I absolutely agree with the direction of the LS. As opposed to farming DoA or UW using the same kittening shadow refuge builds over and over and over again. That people, is grind. Every two weeks I get FRESH content with hardly a couple days work to get the end rewards? That’s freaking great man. Oooohhh but you had to grind for it!!! Nah bra. See grind to me is what dungeon runners do. When was the last new dungeon path released. Better yet, when’s then last new dungeon period? That sir is grinding. Me, playing the game, lvling alts, doing LS achieves, playing wvw, and all of a sudden I check my progress and I already have most of what I need for a set of ascended is not a grind. Yes, you can grind for it if you want. I was one of the people who said to myself “I’m not grinding for that kitten”. Guess what, I still haven’t grinded it and I’m onto making my 2nd set. I’m sorry but your argument is bullkitten. If you just (get ready for it) PLAY THE GAME THE WAY YOU WANT TO nothing is out of reach. Well, there is that fractal compacitor, and maybe a few other things, but, I think I’ve made my points very clear.
In response to Danikat (lazy and am on phone), in total id say 200g, and that’s a high estimate. My system is every 3 weeks to a month (since I came back in august) I buy 12g in rares or 20g in exotics to throw away. But regardless the point of my post is that RNG is RNG, just in a trolly manner :P
It’s funny how every time one of these threads comes up it’s always a friend or a guild member who gets loads of precusrors. We never hear from someone who is lucky themselves.
Maybe that’s it – every time you post on the forum it reduces your chance of getting a precursor.
Makes about as much sense as the other theories.
I only clicked this topic because I got my 2nd precursor from the forge in a month just last night. Also, because I love being controversial, both of them came DIRECTLY after receiving an exotic drop. A month ago, I was in wvw, got an exotic, immediately left for LA, bought 12g worth of rare axes, got frostfang. This time I was doing world completion in Brisban wildlands, got exotic, wp’d to vigil keep, bought 20g of exotic swords, zap on 2nd try. Its a conspiracy man! And may the RNG gods smile on you all.

You’ve got the idea, but the wrong plot. Evon is a coward and a fool and wouldn’t be able to pull it off. That waste of space Kiel? Hah, she’s almost as incompetent. No no no, our real concern is the Consortium…. All this time they’ve been waiting and setting the scene for a corporate takeover of LA and the BLTC. That device Scarlett looked into? Omadd has been working for the consortium, and they needed a puppet to advance their plans. He made a device which would melt the mind and brainwash the victim. Then they set “Scarlett” loose and let her do the dirty work for them. Its all culminated with her letting loose the breach maker. With LA drained (and a lot of new space for housing projects I might add), the Consortium are ready to step back into the spotlight, and “save our sorry butts” from Scarlett. After which, they will dispose of their pawn, and we will hail our new overlords, displacing the captains council and reigning in a new era of the consortium trading co.
I have been playing with game since BWE1, I have 2 legendarie weapons, a bunch of items and gold. .
Yet you are complaining about not being able to get items. Haha you’re funny.
I am not complain about not getting items, its about how you get the items. It pure farm gold buy matts its not like your doing, lets say, 10 Dynamic events on each map, collecting a certain token. After you have done that, you combine all tokens and get a item on the lvl of Volcanus. This is just a example, im not saying that how it should work.
So are saying Anet should just hand everyone a cool item just because u grind for a certain amount of time? What’s the point of the game if everyone has the same item and pol who don’t work hard gets the same s…t as u do
What’s the point in playing a game you have .76% chance in 2109 tries of getting something you desire aka a precursor.
What’s the point of playing a game in which you kill one of the hardest bosses in game 80 time’s (Teq) and open all 80 bags and receive nothing but blues and greens.
See the point?
That’s y it’s call RNG doesn’t matter if u kill it a million times if it’s RNG then it’s rng. You’re expecting too much
No I am expecting something reasonable and so are obviously are a lot of other players.
I can’t recall a game in which I killed an top tier boss 80 times and never received anything worthwhile for the effort.
If I invest that much time I require something in return – And this is one of the largest problems with GW2 currently.
There is absolutely no rewarding feeling when playing this game for far to many players.
My guild mates and I are always laughing and joking about rewards (were a wvw focused guild). The thing is, while we always get kitten, I hope it doesn’t change. Its special when we DO get a nice drop. I am personally happy with the game economy as well. Barring they wipe everything, I can’t feasibly see them making an overhaul without majorly shaking up everything. I’d say maybe this isn’t the game for you.
A guild mate of mine posted on reddit the actual future of the game (I can’t find his link atm(also, this is total speculation)). In summary, Omadd was really working for the consortium, and the device scarlet looked into was actually a brain washing device. She has been a pawn of them this whole time and the consortium is using her to advance their plot to take over/replace the BLTC. The motions are already in place with the lionguard taking over the BLTC. You have been warned
Anet has already begun to address the issue with ascended/ vertical progression directly with a CDI.
Does ascended gear still exist ?
Has there been any indication from Anet ni the CDI thread(s) that ascended gear will be removed from the game ?
The issue still exists.
Look at my post, now look at the op, now back at mine. Now look at yours. I’m saying this specific thread is someone who decided they were angry and posted absolutely nothing of productive conversation about the issue. THAT is why this is a dead horse. If he/she had opened the thread with some meaningful discussion points sure. That is not the case. Threads like this should be dumped. Its the same complaints from a different person
Yea I miss gw1 so much. I miss having to have a permasin to do end game content. I miss the freaking grind that was legendary vanquisher. I miss the cheese that was LDOA and the dlvl concept to get a title. I miss smiteball (the original stacking technique). Or even necro spike, or any of the cheesy spike teams in HOH. I miss having to clear 3/4 of the game to get A skill for an alt (thats the only downside I really had with that system tbh). GYou see, gw2 is the rightful predecessor, and I’m glad we have it now. There are many aspects of the game that are so much better than what it was. Yes, there is much room for improvement, but I’m happy being HERE till we get there.
Edit: what guilds have you heard are leaving for ESO?? I haven’t heard any myself and think the idea is laughable. ESO is the next swtor.

OK I had my laugh. I play with a Logitech g something-number (the naga equivalent). I prefer it to the naga and I have utilities/elite and f keys mapped to it. 1-5 and wasd default. I do also have auto attack bound to a key on the mouse for when I want to use my hand for something else…

Yes we are all aware how this process is going to pan out. My direct problem is that this is another Waaaaaah ascended sucks do something thread.
I dislike the gear as well, but I don’t make a stupid kittening post every time I feel kitten
I think this issue of how difficult it is to switch builds is a reasonable thing to discuss. We’ve only just had ascended armor and weapons long enough for people to realize what a pain in the keister it’s going to be. Can still have vertical progression and also have some reasonable ability to change your mind without waiting another three months.
I don’t think you get where I’m coming from. I’m saying “gee this is the 50th topic about ascended and how it sucks for this reason….” This isn’t a new idea, and is figuratively beating the dead horse at this point.
I wouldn’t consider the small number of people that complained “the community”.
Heh, you’ve got it backwards matey, the ‘small number of people’ are the ones that want pay to win features in the game.
Sorry but did the majority of the player base really think the Watchwork Mining Pick was supposed to be removed or have its 20% chance of sprockets removed? no.
Yes, yes the majority did.
Regardless of whether of you could buy it with $$ or gold (at a ridiculous gold cost), limited time real money items of this nature are automatically PAY TO WIN.
Play to win? Sure I’m all for it. (candy corn/sprocket node (both time gated))
Pay to win? No, go back to some dodgey KMMORPG. (limit time mining pick gem store item that provides monetary benefits, not time gated, unlimited gains)
Actually neither of you know for certain.
On a side note, the “monetary benefit” made me giggle.
Why do people insist on posting these topics still? Anet has already begun to address the issue with ascended/ vertical progression directly with a CDI. Regardless of what your views on it are, its not providing constructive criticism.
They haven’t addressed anything. Giving us a forum/Official Anet post to talk about our feelings and suggestions on different topics does not mean anything. It doesnt mean they are or have or will address these topics. Chris Whiteside says ad nausem that the CDI drives conversations in the office and the CDIs are already having an impact.
I do not see this. I still see lots of achievements per living story update to acquire. I still see only one viable method of obtaining Ascended gear. Other than the one or two Living Story zones of the week, I still see a DEAD world. I don’t see much that has been a direct result of the CDI discussions.
Edit: Also, everyone should be aware that most things we talk about in the CDI and thus arenanet agrees with will take months upon months until we see them on live servers.
Id say its been about 1-2 months since the ascended gear discussion. In that discussion, the obvious elephant in the room was that we wanted more ways to acquire ascended gear. Arenanet said “wow thats a great idea, we didnt know that. Thanks cdi!”. So, 1-2 months have passed. And another 2+ months will pass. Until I am able to acquire an ascended gear piece via closing Grenths temple, for example(and not with a precursors drop rate %), they have not listened to our pleas.
Yes we are all aware how this process is going to pan out. My direct problem is that this is another Waaaaaah ascended sucks do something thread.

I am still under the belief that sprockets are garbage to begin with, and once this current LS is gone they will drop back down to ~30c range. If they had released a pickaxe of copper gathering, sure I’d be worried about “this path anet is taking” since, you know, copper has a much more wider use. Until then, the assumption anet will continue to 1up previous items is somewhat silly. Even the kittening about how the captains pass and terrace pass aren’t equal is starting to get old. Get over it.
While writing this I also came up with a rediculous theory that justifies the ww pick. What if its all because anet were worried about sprockets skyrocketing with the new back piece? It would make the cost to craft even higher. The ww pick makes a good way to make money off some entitled few who “have to have the best gem items” and pad the already high supply on sprockets. Seems legit.
Something like your imagining will take much longer to develop. Maybe you should reel in some expectations. Also, having played the games since gw1 just after launch, I can say when someone needs to reference lore or catch up on something its always best to consult the wiki. The CDI reference you make to having more of the story in the game is things like the Scarlett’s journal from the marionette patch, which is obviously something they are working on. So, congrats Anet on the new resource. It looks good and may the LS keep on evolving.

Paying for convenience is exactly the kind of thing we should have as a gem store item. Buying the pass only gets you services you can get elsewhere in the game for free (in an area that isn’t even well designed compared to free areas like Rata Sum). You don’t have to have it to be successful in the game.
Realistically, new/inexperienced players are not going to buy it because it’s a significant cash investment for a game they’re not committed to. Very new players are entirely unaffected by the current situation because the game doesn’t even lead you to Lion’s Arch in any capacity until you’re about level 25. Long-time/experienced players are the ones who will buy it, if they do, and they know other crafting areas exist in the game. Any economic advantage gained from not having to waypoint to another city to craft (and you had to waypoint to your chosen city to craft before anyway, and no one whined about the pavilion…) is offset by the fact that you would gain way more by converting the gems to gold than you would make over the duration by crafting items.
“Manufacturing consumer pain and peddling the solution” is exactly how every business operates. A basic principle of advertising is to create a need in the mind of the consumer, then show your product and how it fulfills that need. I have no idea why you think this is shady when most Westernized countries depend on this effect for their survival.
Let’s follow this up with touching on the watch work pick. Those people who complained because it was an infinite +1 and made theirs obsolete? I honestly feel they are the scrub consumer every company loves to take advantage of. Now realistically, it feels to me more aimed at those who were on the fence already about buying it, and this is an extra incentive to finally get one. Let’s face it, some scrubs getting sprockets will never harm the economy in significant fashion. I bought an infinite pick, and until the Super mining pick of extra orichalcum comes out, I’m just fine.
I’m honestly a little worred about the watchwork pick because it offers an actual advantage. But this pass definitely doesn’t.
The watch work pick is like telling a ranger to get ascended stuff because it’ll help him beat the warrior in exotics… just no. Its sprockets. If they make sprockets more useful than for zealots/this current back piece, I’ll be a little worried.

I don’t think that LA bordered thing will be their main city, simply because of the respect that the Tengu hold for the Dominion of Wind. It’s like Holbrak for Norns.
And perhaps a sky-map thing, but I highly doubt they’ll go underground.
However, it is possible that they might combine those 2 islands. with little ones in between.
If ArenaNet planned on making them a playable race before the game went out, I can guess they have a plan for their 1-15 zone as well.
It’s just that question that bothers me, what is the ultimate solution for that.
Yea I’m not at home so I can’t double check, but I’m 90% sure that area next to lions arch is also called the dominion of winds, which also includes the large area east of the sylvari area (think of it like a country, not just a single zone). Also, following the layout of Tyria in its current form, the area west of LA is very city sized and the large rectangular area that looks like it would be the exact same shape as the sylvari/asuran areas kinda puts some sense behind the theory. Another supporting fact that’s been mentioned is that they were to be a race at launch, and my explanation fits quite well with the speculation that preliminary work was put into the making of the areas for that race. I just feel like other theories are far fetched and looked to far into.
I think the tengu city would be bordered by LA and their starter zone adjacent to the sylvari lvl1-15 zone. The current map would support this well.
OK well my wife and I each managed to have a 1200 run, both got weapons we put up on the trading post for about 25 silver. Not really a great opportunity to get old LS items
Yea see I don’t think anyone should get a previous LS reward from 1 hours work. So in all honesty yea, its not a great opportunity, and those seeking should be at the mercy of RNG. I took a break during the first half of the year and missed some cool stuff, and now I’m grinding every hour to try and have the chance and maybe getting something I missed. I don’t feel cheated in the slightest bit.
On a side note, people should guest to the larger servers for a chance to get r5 reward. With the exception of days 1 and 2, I have yet to not get r5 chest on my server.

All these discussions are sidetracking us from the core reason this topic was begun. Nobody is arguing that they should have not taken away LA. This is a fresh new change to the world and it brings a new dynamic that people have to adapt to. This discussion is about the air ship replacement that costs gems. Do you not see that taking something away from the game that is free and replacing it with something that (Potentially) costs money is a bad road to start pdown?
Also, the people arguing that you can do the same thing in other cities, your argument is null and void. It has nothing to do with this topic. If Arena Net thought that people could do everything they wanted in other cities, WHY would they release a new place for all your needs that costs money?
No, you’re the one that isn’t following the discussion.
Nothing in the game was removed. Not a single service in the game is gated behind a requirement to pay. Every single service that existed in LA still exists in the game for free.
That is the real true point that makes this a completely worthless and pointless thread. Nothing was lost. Nothing is being forced on anyone.
Oh, so the air ship does not exist and did not come out at the same time that LA was destroyed? Sorry, I guess I was mistaken about all of that then. </sarcasm>
It is people like this that like to distract from the main point of topics and to change the subject.
The point of the topic and that people like you will whine about any little thing no matter how little it actually effects them or the game and want to take any opportunity to make a big stink about it.
You come back when the mystic forge is only available in the game through payment and I’ll be behind your complaint 100%. This is not that. Your complaint is irrelevant.
If nobody calls out something that they see wrong, what will happen? It is easier to stop a small snowball rolling down from the top of a hill than it is when it is at the bottom and still rolling. I would much rather this be the only time Arena Net tries this than it becoming a typical event.
OK in all seriousness, what exactly is wrong here…. I just don’t understand how or why you think making a convenience a gem shop item is so wrong. Before you tout the “they replaced LA with gem shop stuff” no, the airship is easily more superior to the accessibility that was LA. I could stand and have my bank, forge, tp, and the forge merchant open all at once. This is a standard model of marketing generated at making money. But what about the crafting tables? Yes, its slightly annoying that I have to wp to DR to craft, but oh well. It could be 10 worse. I see the reason behind not including them. Its fairly obvious that they want to make more money off the passes. So we have standard business practices here. Now what they did next was more bizarre I think. The dropped passes from the bags! Why the heck would they undo what they did all this for? YOU. People that feel they are wronged when a company tries to make money off them. WELCOME TO AMERICA. At least they give you the decency to offer the paid services as a drop outright regardless if its RNG. I also don’t expect them to release a statement about this at all either. Its unspoken rules of business. They need to make money, and we should be thankful they are making it off PURE convenience. I applaud them for their business decisions as it adds to the longevity of the game we all love to play. Next time, find a real wrong to right.

No, we get it. But, I don’t think you get it. They didn’t “replace” anything. They offered a “superior” service for a fee. Instead of whining about how anet gouged us for money, go start an economical revolution so we don’t have to deal with capitalist BS like this. Or, enjoy what we have and be thankful we can enjoy them to begin with. Good day.
$12.50 Charge for Convenience of Lions Arch
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

There, problem fixed, stop acting like this was some criminal action against everybody in the game when it wasn’t. If it takes you just a minute just to walk to an area that has the crafting stations, it’s a minor inconvenience equal to walking across the street to the other gas station for a soda you like just because the one you live next to doesn’t have it.
When has anyone said that it’s criminal? It’s just scummy behaviour. They removed a feature from the game we already paid for, and are trying to make us buy it back again.
What feature did they remove. All the features present in LA are still available for free in the game, just not in the same place. No feature was removed.
You now have to pay waypoint costs, whereas you didn’t before (openworld -> WvW = free, Asura gate from WvW -> LA = free).
I think you mean having to travel to rata sum for crafting tables. See there’s these things that you mentioned called asura gates… and they are in the vigil…. see where I’m going?

Rata Sum ,anyone heard of it?
Do tell me where the mystic forge is located in that midget-populated town?
>implying the mystic forge isn’t really close to the asura gates in Vigil Keep
>implying it takes longer than 1 minute to port to Rata Sum
>implying Lion’s Arch is the only city in the gameI can keep going if you want.
It does take more than 1 min esp for people without SSD-s.
Lion’s Arch is(was) the only city in the game with every service in it-the only way to get that now is to use the gemstore.
Still waiting for that location. If it takes more than one minute to load one of the lower areas of Rata Sum you do not meet the minimum requirements for this game and therefore really can’t complain, sorry. I don’t have a solid-state drive but it takes 10 seconds or less to load.
I don’t even go to Rata Sum for crafting, I actually go to Claypool, it’s nice and quiet, everything is laid out close together and simple, how can you go wrong? In fact I’ve been going there to do my crafting since the very beginning, so I was not impacted by this change in the slightest.
The pass to the Captain’s airship is really nothing more than a premium. We don’t pay subscription fees to play this game, so it’s sort of just understood that things like this are there to give players the choice to show their support for Anet and actually receive something to show for it. Don’t whine about it. You’re the one who got into a game that was advertised as having an ever-changing world where things might come and go all the time, it makes little sense to complain when it does.
The argument that you’re somehow “forced” to pay $12.50 if you want to do crafting obviously does not hold up to basic scrutiny. You can pay 1-2 silver for that by warping to Claypool or Rata Sum, period. It also makes no sense to bring loading times into the equation because of the simple fact that Lion’s Arch used to take literally five to ten times longer to load than any other place in the game, so why didn’t it bother you then?
FIND ME AN AREA THAT HAS ALL THE SERVICES IN THE GAME THAT CAN BE ACCESSED WITHOUT THE GEM STORE-LIKE THE ONE WE HAD LAST WEEK AND NOT ANYMORE DUE TO A BUNCH OF SUIT-WEARING GREEDY GREMLINS THAT YOU PROBABLY WORK FOR.
Yes the caps were needed,I was yelling.
Uhh. I like totally found this airship pass thing from some random event I was doing. I think it was an area that was a city… maybe… anyways, I gave it to my alt cus like, he’s cooland stuff. Now he lives in this airship thing like whoa. And then, cus its like VIP up there, I totally needed to get my main in, cus like don’t leave a homie hanging. Good thing I roll hard in the paint for them dolla dolla bills yalll cus then I like totally saw you can buy permanent access to the totes cool VIP area.

Except its not what you had before…. it is in fact better.

This is actually almost ingenious. Take away the normal hub, charge the “inconvenienced” to get the same convenience (except its actually 10 times better than the original to begin with, so nice try on the direct comparison), and split the player base out more to their next-preffered place of afkness. Nope, no complaints here.
If I read correctly, previous LS exclusive skins are dropping from the max reward tier (molten jetpack, gasmask, etc.). Just wondering if these drops are account bound or tradable? I know I’d buy ALL the gaskmasks.
Hopefully they learned a bit from Southsun.
What they learned from Southsun was that making new maps was totally not worth it given the amount of work required and the extremely short window between content release and players getting bored of it and asking “so when’s the next one?”.
I don’t think that’s very accurate of the lessons learned. The lesson they learned most was around the event they held for it, and how most players viewed it as a massive failure. The zone itself is a success. People are regularly doing the events there, and I farm for shells fairly often. Great zone with a shadow of a failed experiment hung over head. When it comes to new zones, I just feel like they are waiting for the right time. What need is there for a new zone ATM? While I feel the player base wants new zones, the LS is filling the new content need, and until it or an addition to the PS dictates new zones, Anet will wait.
The spoilers are great. There have been quite a few ominous hints that LA would be attacked for weeks now. Some obvious, some not so. Also, they are giving you just a portion of the information you need/want to know. What we get is the “what,” and in game we will get the why and how. In my opinion the previews are not spoilers, and purely hype builders (which is normal for a company like this). An argument could be made for some of the prior previews being spoiler heavy which I think there are a couple, but I still apply the same logic. I want the why and how.
I disagree. I love the “spoilers” and trailers they do. It works for the game they have, and this isn’t your old role playing gm, this is a company. That aside, there are a few NPC’s that have had this ominous message that something was gonna happen to LA. Hell, Evon basically spells it out. We knew this was coming, and now we know when. All the important stuff is coming tomorrow, the “how” if you will, and hopefully (if current trend continues) it will all be in game.
Dear leaderboard grinders,
Welcome to gw2, where the casual really does reign supreme. I am your casual liaison. I am here to tell you that I am happy with allllll the extra things I can do for my daily, because that’s all I really care about. To go along with that, I love having so many choices to get my daily done it doesn’t feel like bashing my face against a wall. I am sorry that your experience is ruined, but this is for the greater good of the game and less for the kittening match that achieving top leaderboard status is.
-Sincerely, Patty
If your on BG/deso it IS most likely your own population with a small % of guesters. Hell I’m on EB and we have overflows a lot. And who the hell guests on EB? Furthermore if I guest to any higher pop server and wait my time out, screw some pve scrub who waited too long to try and get in. Don’t be ignorant, plan accordingly. State your concern about the system not kittening rage all over the forums “its not fair!” and anet will consider the options it has and make a decision. Otherwise if this is that game breaking for you, PEACE
Actually difficulty is directly associated to coordination. The mechanics are easy, but the fact that the coordination is difficult and is a main factor in determining success, results in the event being more difficult.
From my understanding its a 10% hit to crit dmg… not overall dmg. As for your topic, dunno.
An LFG tab for Group Events, working like the ones for dungeons, divided by zones, would be a good idea, but not automated like in WoW. Perhaps that way more Group Events would become done.
Another incentive for Group Events could be increased rewards, perhaps based on the current value in Coin equivalent to one gem (not really directly a Gem but Coin equivalent to 1 Gem)?
I could see a lfg tab working if the rewards were better than an alternative activity yes. The reason I say automatic is because I prefer the wow style dungeon finder to the wanna-be tab we have (albeit I think the tab works better with this game). The reason being I feel the auto-finder brings more casual players in who would otherwise not do it. I had no problem teaching newbs how to do a dungeon in wow/rift as their dungeons were less of an endgame thing than gw2 (not that its completely endgame here… just more common to find min/maxing here). As it is open world content as well, and you could say easier, I would have no problem with automation. Another reason would be that it takes people away from overly farmed events. An example being like the old ulgath chain (best I had since I left for a while). People just did the same chain

I really would like to see RIFT’s Instant Adventure feature modified to gw2. It helps solve the low world pop, unfinished de chain and empty map problems, as well as give a more guided tool for pve leveling (I know I’m sick of going for zone exploration).

I miss yellow-way… Bring on the Paragon!
I took a break from the game from January till August (more me burning myself out than anything), and during that time Rift went free to play, so I tried it out (meh). The one thing I would really like to see adapted to GW2 would be the Instant Adventure feature. I try to keep up with the forums here and have seen at least a few posts about many DE’s being un-finished in many zones as well as many servers having map population issues. I feel like a proper Adventure system would help fix those problems, as well as give (yet another) way of leveling to keep things fresh. Of course adapting this would be somewhat tricky to pull off but it shouldn’t be overly complicated. I can imagine a system similar to the LFG tool but more automated, with people queueing for a level range and being taken taken to a zone automatically with a fresh DE chain, preferably in a lower populated server. Party size might be an issue for larger scale DE chains, and also people wandering off after being taken to a zone (finagling a way to add the instance borders so that if they wander off they are taken back to their original location?). Just wanted to throw this out there and see what anyone thinks.
We feel like WvW is a really good middle-ground between PvE and PvP and …
This snip right here is why players say they are so out of touch with the game. W3 is in no way, shape, or form a “casual middle ground” between PvP and PvE. It’s more competitive than sPvP for Christ’s sake. Yet simply because it wasn’t intentionally designed that way, they refuse to acknowledge that.
It’s like ANet is holding their hands to their ears and shouting: “la la la la la la la la la la…”
Hi. So I was an anonymous pve’er, and for me wvw was a middle ground. Anet just doesn’t spoon feed people. I happen to have a good grasp for understanding things, and after I got better in wvw I started to spvp. Boom. Middle ground.
(like the axe, hammer, greatsword, bows, and maybe rifle)
Makes about as much sense as the other theories.
