Shhhhh
Rule one of the anti botting code
Never talk about the anti botting code
2nd rule of the anti botting code is, you do not talk about the anti botting code
3rd rule of the anti botting code, if Anet yells stop, loot is over
4th rule, only 2 loots per 20mobs
5th rule, one loot at a time, fellas
6th rule, no greens, no blues
7th anti botting code will go on as long as it has to
8th rule, if this is your first night farming, you will not get loot.
Anet should post this on a wall in the office.
Should be more consistent with what scales and what doesn’t. Levels scale based on area, costs don’t.
Maybe it’ll get worked out.
Who’s hinting at it other than players?
Same thing happened to Rift.

The only evidence for his argument is a bug. You are not supposed to run into diminishing returns during normal play.
IT IS A BUG, not a conspiracy.
Did they say it was a bug? Asking out of curiosity.

Player Evidence:
Good to know.

The lower zones still have plenty of people, while the 45+ have far fewer people. It doesn’t help that there’s still a lot of broken events in those areas.
Highest is 64 ish, next highest is 20 something. Was laid off monday so I’ve had a bit more time to play sadly.
Lucky.
No, it’s not. I need structure in my life /whimper

I disagree with this assumption. The only thing you can buy that directly affects the game is gold. Gold only gets you so far, and can be made without any interaction with the gem market. The fact that you can buy gems with gold is almost a counter argument in itself. Of course they want you to use the buy gems, since it’s the only way for them to directly profit in the long term, but I can’t really agree with the idea that farming caps are an effort to push the micro-market.
Would be nice, since dailies and monthlies also give points.
I imagine the charr running animation has some major clipping issues with capes.
Then they can make a different cape/animation for the charr version. Is it really that difficult? If they can make one that works with other races they can make the equivalent for charr.
I really wish people would stop saying there won’t be capes because of the charr and all this crap. It is a cop-out and letting the developers off easy. They are a talented team, and if they can make one cape they can make all different types that are required.
Never said there wouldn’t be capes. I would love capes. I’m saying that’s probably why we don’t have them yet.
Hey now, My tauren deathknight was badkitten looking.
Anyway, we don’t need gating, there’s nothing to gate.

Since you don’t want a legendary, for whatever reason, then find another game until MOP comes out in 4 days. I would play BF3 or something.
Have a legendary yet?
Some more consistency from oneshot aoe’s wouldn’t hurt. The giants stomp attack doesn’t have a range indication, and the fire elemental’s aoe is slightly larger than the indicated zone.
Talk to me at 80. after youve got ur gear. Im mostkly talking about money. If your at my progression lvl you’d understand. I knew a fanboy would have to come the anet rescue.
lolwhat? Try making a point, not some random babbling.
Waypoint scaling is a fair argument to make, since low level hearts and DE’s don’t scale
A dual spec system could help I think.
Again, Rift was on top of that, with not two, but five different specs that you could load at any time as long as you weren’t in combat.
People just don’t want to play tanks and healers.
I know, but it helped immensely when rift had it, and when WOW finally implemented it. Spec matters enough that it couldn’t hurt.
I would much rather see a system in which every class is able to spec over to all 3 roles, whenever the need fits. I really don’t want to knock them for trying something different, but I’m really feeling that leveling a melee to 80 was a waste of time for pve.
Rift tried this. Three of the four archetypes (warrior, rogue, cleric) had a method of tanking, and three of the four archetypes (rogue, cleric, mage) had a method of healing.
The end result is that every single player in the game could either tank or heal, if not both.
You’d still be waiting hours for the healer and tank because only a certain kind of player wants to play those roles.
Imo, Guild Wars 2 has the superior design. Let’s be patient and hope they also give us superior execution moving forward.
A dual spec system could help I think.
But is it difficult in a good way?
I have not played WoW in a long time but i remember that the Ulduar raid had some very challenging hardmode encounters that were so much more than just “boss is charging up for a big attack, time to dodge roll!”.
Some where difficult and fun, the ones that had random elements were not fun. It also took a long time for Blizzard to really fine tune challenge vs. fun, of course they did this with hardmodes, but that’s not the point. I think we just need to give Anet more time to really figure out how to make a boss encounter.
Where does it say the zone is supposed to get you to 17? It’s a 1-15 zone. At 14 you’re capable of leveling in the 15-25 zone. Move on.
Perhaps he’s referring to the map overlay which says it’s appropriate for levels 1-17?
I thought every starter said 1-15?

MMO’s use the trinity because it’s easy to design around.
I agree with his complaint that the bosses have annoyingly large HP pools, but i dont see why he would pick a game of choice based on dungeons.. they are fun for about.. 1 run.
Large scale raids are fun. 5 mans are boring, unfortunately you have to run the 5 mans before people will let you into the large raids.
You can, in fact, play however you want, don’t however confuse that to mean you can play sub-optimally and have the same success as those who play smarter. You’re more than welcome to bring 5 dps to a dungeon, you would do better with someone speced for better healing or support though.
Can’t compare WOW transport to GW2. WOW has zero incentive to run from one place to another, except to arbitrarily slow you down. Trying to get anywhere before having a mount was long, tediuos, and meaningless. Gathering people for a dungeon in the city, then running for 20 minutes to get to the dungeon, then dieing to the first trash pack only to watch 2/5 people leave was not fun.
How much of this could be alleviated with a better aggro mechanic?
GW2 and WOW is like BF3 and COD. Similar, but different enough to justify playing either one, or both, since they offer different experiences.
I want to move the bar, make it smaller, and see numbers on it. It’s currently the most annoying thing on the screen.
Ok, what about engineers? I Want to use my shield pistol, and rifle too.
Tool kit, grenade kit, bomb kit, elixer gun, flame thrower, turrets, mine’s, elixers, +toolbelt.
I think we’re good.
Would be helpful on certain zone bosses like the fire elemental in the Asura area. He has so much aoe that trying to rez just gets you killed too.
Caps of this nature are the type of thing that sounds good on paper, but fails in practice. You could cut the rewards by 90% and they only things left doing it would be bots, since they don’t care how long it takes.
Start trying to make a legendary. You’ll be poor soon enough.
I don’t
/forever poor
There’s too many level 80s now and I don’t feel special anymore!!!
Leveling isn’t that important in this game.
Some of us are taking our time to enjoy the game. You miss to much by rushing through it.
You’re implying we can’t enjoy the game at level cap, or go back to area’s we missed before.
you can, but it won’t be very challenging – downscaling is a really nice idea, but its a not a complete solution to making early content a viable option, at least if u want to do something other than roll your face on the keyboard.
Implying that some classes/traits don’t allow facerolling at level appropriate content. There are some challanging aspects of this game, killing a normal mob of the same level isn’t one of them.
Called it. Though I didn’t expect them to use that method, was expecting invisible walls or fixes to the terrain.
Some info on how they came up with those numbers. Are they pulling every character and ever crafter regardless of level? Is there a cuttoff? Any info is good info.
I doubt many (if any) will get banned, but they will probably fix it so you can’t avoid large chunks of mobs.
From the OP it looks like +healing is more beneficial to the other people you’re healing then it is for healing yourself.
I would guess this is an effort to prevent people being unkillable in small scale (1v1-2) pvp.
That doesn’t mean it couldn’t use a buff.
I just want a smaller target frame. Giant, epic looking bosses are great, when they aren’t blocked by the giant red bar on my screen.
I wouldn’t have said this as harshly, but I agree with the point. If you’re going to give us data, put some numbers and real info in there.
If they waited till the game was perfect they’d never get to release it.

Must be another bug. Don’t worry, they’ll fix it and you’ll be back to 25 fps in no time.
Perhaps add a speed boost and the ability to jump? Give them a real use.
