Why should a total noob be at 163 mastery points? Just why?

Noob perhaps shouldn’t, but this is not an arcade game and getting full mastery points should not require being good at those.

Why should a guy who played the game from launch and beaten pretty much everything (bar Liadri and the Raid), not be able to have 163 mastery points, because he happens to live in Australia? lol

Making them friendlier to ping issues is one thing. Complaining that you can’t (lack of skill) or wont do them is another.

The English language is hard -_-

we’ll be looking at improving a couple of elite specialization traits and working with means they are working on something. Not that it’s done. Not that there is something ready to be released on a particular day.

It also means they could have decided against doing any of it.

There is only one thing to say – Shame on you ArenaNet for locking mastery points behind mini games!
Why would anyone like to play a game that locks you out from being able to enjoy all the new mastery abilities?

There are 129 mastery points available in HOT, you need 114 for all the HOT mastery tracks.

Yes, I know that. I also know that here are 31 mastery points from the mini games and 1 from Tarir challenge winner. 129 ./.32 = 97.

of those 32, you can get half of them really easy, just get gold in the babys mini games and in the difficult ones try to get silver (not so difficult)

in VB only shotting gallery its a pain in the kitten , with a little of practice you can get silver

in AB you got 2 games that with a little of practice you get gold fast, the rest you can aim silver with not too much problem.

in TD, ley-line run, bettle feast and drone race, the same thing: a little of practice and you get gold.

with that you are more than ready, also you can toss another 12 points with not getting nuhoch alchemy, the most useless mastery.

What seems to be easy for you might not be easy for everyone. For me it is impossible to do fast-paced, single-mini games. I can’t even score bronze in the “babys mini games”.

The game will never be balanced around the lowest denominator, sorry.

It shouldn’t be balanced around the assumption that everyone is a veteran arcade era player either.
No, minigames do not need to be made easier – but locking mastery points behind them when there’s not enough of alternatives was a bad decision.

There are enough alternatives. If you can’t do ANY adventure, then it’s a L2P issue.

Collections are pretty much my end game now. It’s end game for the rest of us. It’s supposed to be difficult.

If collections are end game, then there is something really wrong with them.

How so?

RNG. The fact I can spend hours killing mobs for a junk item to drop and it never drops.

Yes I did check the wiki to make sure I was killing the right mobs.

The majority of this game is based on RNG, collections are one of the few things where RNG favors the player. (minus a few).

what’s the alternate for collecting stuff?

“play how you want” does not apply to this. It was a statement about getting to max level and getting the strongest gear, which at the time was only exotic. Want masteries? Do things that earn masteries. Doesn’t matter if you like that activity or not.

YES IT DOES!

not a freaking new game.

Why doesn’t it matter if we like the activity or not?

Anet made Festive Imbiber last only through Wintersday. People complained that they didn’t like the activity and so Anet changed their stance and now Festive Imbiber will be open all year.

Things can change for the better if people complain about activities they don’t enjoy… It’s kind of the point of complaining…

If masteries where a limited time achievement you might have a point. You can earn more masteries than what’s required, clearly they didn’t want to just give it away and yet still gave you options. They want you to work for it

Precursor Crafting Overpriced?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Phy.2913

Phy.2913

If you can’t afford the scenic route, don’t take it. Other routes are cheaper

why would one take it at all considering how much cheaper other routes are?

Some people prefer the less hectic path. This is like needing to earn gold fast enough to get the precursor before it goes up in price dramatically.

Some people prefer to see the sights and aren’t in a rush to reach their destination. This is like wanting to go on a journey to get the precursor.

Not everyone has more fun doing things the cheapest and most efficient way.

Does that argument justify the extreme discrepancy between crafting and buying a precursor? Most people think not, hence this thread discussing whether the cost/mechanics may need changed or revised.

I would personally prefer the longer journey, but not if it’s going to cost me twice as much.

Right now the cost of the precursor crafting is compounded by the fact that the mats required for them are also shared by a number of other items that are also high in demand due to the expansion. Guild hall upgrades, new ascended armors, new players gearing their characters up and leveling up their crafting.

Until prices are stable and have reached their new equilibrium price, no one can really say if the precursor method is too expensive or not.

And given how a minority of players of a game use the forums at all, one can not say if a majority or if a minority don’t like the price difference between crafting and buying the precursor.

Demand for ascended mats wont go down enough to make crafting equal to buying, and if anything they’ll only get more expensive every time they add more legendaries.

Disappointment with Wintersday Minis

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Phy.2913

You’re assuming they won’t have a new craftable mini. Wait until Wintersday is actually out before complaining about it.

imo It doesn’t matter if they add more craftable minis. That’s not the point. I don’t think that ingame rewards should be moved to the gem store. There should be a separation between the two. If it’s something you could earn by playing it shouldn’t be taken out and made a purchase. If the original way to earn it can’t be kept then it should be made so it’s earned in game by a different method, such as an ingame vendor

Those mini’s are old. Let go of the past to make way for the future. Earn gold, convert to gems. That’s a way to earn them ingame without trying to keep an archaic holiday mechanic in place.

Those Legendaries are old. Let go of the past to make way for the future. Earn gold, convert to gems. That’s a way to earn them ingame without trying to keep an archaic mechanic in place.

Yes, yes. I know that’s hyperbole (and hopefully) will never happen but it demonstrates what I’m saying by extending the argument to another ingame earnable item. Old, earnable ingame rewards should not become gemstore purchases, for large things or for small things.

For the old legendaries you can skip the gem conversion.

After all the bugs and overall BS I experienced making Astralaria, if Legendary Armor forces me to do Raids, and has time-gates, I’m just not even going to bother.

I’m sick and tired of doing things I don’t want to do, just to get something I want. I remember when Anet said from the very beginning they want us to ‘play how you want’. Well, I like WvW and EOTM, but they won’t allow us to obtain Legendary Armor via the game modes we each individually like, are they? :-( because that would be fair for everyone… and they can’t have that!

If Legendary Armor requires Raids, that means you’re forcing me to do things I don’t want to do, and not play how I want. At least give us alternatives, it isn’t that hard.

It was annoying enough for me to have to do those horrible fractals for Astralaria, but Raids is just hell-to-the-no. I’m not an experienced player, and judging by all the lfg’s, unless you know exactly what to do, you can’t just ‘pug’ it, which makes legendary armor only for the elite that can do raids. How is that fair, Anet?

I wish people would stop taking “play how you want” out of context. Legendary equals ascended, ascended can be earned outside of raids, therefore you can do other things besides raids to earn “the most powerful gear”, which is what “play how you want” is referring to. It’s no different than being forced to run dungeons for dungeon armor.

if ANets product had been a vehicle or a computer for example it would have been a massive recall and class action suits filed left right and center.
imagine buying a car and when you pick it up you get told the breaks will arrive later on.

And for those who try to argue, HoT is a produkt being sold and as such the customer do have the right to get a finished product when purchasing, if not ready delay the release until the problems are solved.

If you delay software until all the problems are fixed, you’ll never release it.

yes, but with HoT almost every aspect of the expansion have bug’s, and they seam to randomly fix them instead of fixing them from the start of the expansion and move along the same path as the natural progression of the game.
SAMO SAMO crap as usual, try to keep the 1% of the players happy and crap on the rest.

Compared to some AAA games, HOT looks almost perfect. Bugs will always exist, for every 1 they fix another takes it’s place.
