THIS is an overreaction to trump most overreactions.
8% PER ITEM will mean a lot eventually.
It needs a cap, otherwise people would just stack bleed builds. If anything they should try to rework some abilities to do damage based on the bleed stack
If this was a valid argument WOW would be dead by now.
Even if they went full gear treadmill the game wouldn’t die, the playerbase would just have a shift in ideals.
I’d actually prefer they started to increase gear so that we can have some sort of gear progression. I just don’t want them to go crazy like Blizzard and have me upgrade from a piece of gear that has 40 stamina to a piece of gear that has 200 stamina. Who the hell does that?
When the increase levels they have to redo stats from the ground up, essentially, and then plan for the top teir gear stats. They just never rework the last expansions gear to account for the new stat weight. Which is only a problem in the x9 pvp brackets.
as far as I’ve read, will only impact your progression IN THE ACTUAL DUNGEON.
Then what is the point of adding this as a new content? More than half of the player base dont do dungeons
For the other half I would assume.
It’s principal.
Even if they went full gear treadmill the game wouldn’t die, the playerbase would just have a shift in ideals.
It most certainly would because they would be directly competing with World of Warcraft. All the ex WoW players in the game that left for that very reason would go back to WoW. I know I would.
Yes, but the 2 games are different enough to have their own markets. Rift is still going strong I hear, and that’s basically WOW 2.0
They don’t release patch notes ahead of time. They give teasers, but never any notes.
It’s a possible sign that they’re changing direction, which is what people are crying about.

It is a bit strange when the “hero” in an MMO is surrounded by thousands of other “heros”.
Eww, more exclusive stuff I’ll never have.
This game needs gearscore so we can target and kick out people who don’t have ascended gear.
They’d just be dragging the party/guild/world down.
And then we’ll need a dps meter, and then Anet will have to give us proper trinity specs.
Yes! Combined with the treadmill grind, we’ll have ourselves a proper MMO!
YES! Screw innovation, we want the same stale games we’ve played for years.
They probably don’t stack, so you instead have 2 chances per crit to get health.

Or, even more likely, the company you think is emailing you isn’t actually emailing you. Phishing, look it up.
I agree. It’s better this way that they put in all the patches & fixes all at once. This way players will know that any key changes to the game – if they come they will come every week around the same time.
Well do you think it would be at least wise to show the areas they are working on?
For example a lot of the community is up in arms about Thief, wouldn’t it maintain the communication between players by simply posting in like a weekly sticky “In this upcoming patch we plan to address spike damage with the thief” or something like that.
And no I am not going after thief, I was using it as an example.
Other than fueling QQ threads on the forums, it would be a waste of time.
I could understand if you were playing an anorexic Asura, or even a very tall, very thin Sylvari, but I don’t get that feeling.
3 and 4 I could understand though.
I’m impressed anyone was actually able to make sense of OP’s post.
I’m betting most people are responding to the title, since the first line of the OP tells me he’s extremely overreacting or has no idea what he’s talking about.
Precursors shouldn’t be the hardest/most expensive part of the legendary since it’s pure luck. 200-300+ gold for just 1 part is absurd.
The arguments against this assume that armor value is significant between types. News flash: It’s not.
Giants were pointless when zones had people, now there’s just more reason to ignore it.
Spoiler: New Zealand is the cause of DST.

Time to learn something.
Probably so they can keep adding puzzles. Of course they could also add a workaround…
Artifacts of questionable power are highly underrated.
Converting gems to gold is one of the worst things to do with gems and doesn’t solve any of the problems with rare drop items.
I believe you can find the Norn weapon models in Frostgorge.
I wouldn’t mind an expansion redesign to traits/trait lines, if done right it can make the game feel fresh.
The lore is out there, it’s just not shoved down your throat. Talk to the heart guy and they’ll tell you why you’re doing what ever it is.
Last I checked the 55 sets were all the same looking generic 55 armor. To the second question, if one of the pieces is 80 it requires a fine transmute regardless of the other piece.
Fire elemental is not easy. Like, at all. Most overtuned boss I’ve seen.
Where is this place?
Leveling only serves to arbitrarily lock content and create a sense of progression. Don’t need any more levels.
So because this isn’t WOW the game isn’t any good?
Look around? There’s only a very small number of vista’s that are actually difficult to get too. The start of the path might not be any where near the vista itself.
The Kodan ships feature Asian architecture. Just sayin’. I really want cantha to come back though. That was when I REALLY started to like GW1.
I would say that has more to do with their “Buddhists” ish philosophy.
The mystic forge almost never gives you something equal to what you put in. They also really like using the forge like a garbage can, with a reward.
As long as it’s not entirely luck based I’ll be content.
I will skip out on luck based items entirely. I can tolerate them when it’s available year round, but not when they’re limited time deals.
So the counter arguments are
If they were easy to get, everyone would have them
I don’t see how this is a problem. In a game where it’s all about looks that is how it should be. Why should your kitten prevent me from enjoying something?
People just want stuff handed to them
The best looking skins in this event are directly handed to you assuming you’re lucky or rich, either ingame or in life. Whereas the craftable skins aren’t nearly as good looking but require far more effort to acquire. According to this argument the Mad Memories item should be more prestigious then the BLC skins because it at least requires you to leave the safety of LA for a few minutes.
Odds aren’t cumulative, which means even if the odds were 1/50 you still might end up with nothing after 200.
Or you can go out and kill things, or harvest candy corn, or buy candy corn to trade to the children, or buy TOT bags directly.
It’s a skin, why does a lack of armor matter? And so what if there’s a few people running around with that skin, how is it different from all the people using the COF or TA skin?
Elaborate?
…..
Hopefully they learned a lot from this event about how to handle luck based drops. The rest of the event is fine imo.
Now instead of a bunch of tonics and boosters, people will end with nothing.
HAHAHAHA
I’ll have my bank space back.
The mad king costume is so cool looking, but I wont buy it since I never use town clothing. There really isn’t any armor sets that I want. Medium armor got the short end of the stick and I don’t have any where near enough gold for the T3 charr armor.
