Based on the lore from GW1 and GW2, one can safely assume Human Mesmers ( Male and Female), are highly into fashion?

Just finished reinstalling the game, and still experiencing 20-22 max FPS out of 35-40. This is outrageous! Reinstalling did not help remedy my lower FPS rate due to patch.

ANET read my OP for sure, however It is to be highly believed they do not have a FIRM answer for us who are still suffering from the FPS drops. I logged in just a few minutes ago, and I still cannot chat with my Guild Mates, I still hear voices coming from nothing around me, and the biggest is the ongoing FPS issue.

That’s how it’s starting to seem, I read on one post that someone posted something on the guild wars 2 facebook page regarding the fps issue and it got removed O.O, it would be nice if they could just let us know there aware of the issue..this has to be a major knock in PR for arena net..

Yea when the UI is hidden, I gain a massive boost to FPS rate. My game is beautiful again, however I don’t want to play like that. The issue is clearly the UI ( User Interface).

Most definitely, the weather is beginning to look nice and I have fitness goals I wish to achieve. I know ANET are working hard, and patience is key. I just hope that when I do return to my escapism known as Tyria, all its bugs will be remedied.

I’m leaving GW2 for now, until, my FPS returns to normal.

With all the bugs going around from the recent patch, mainly the major FPS drop I get. The game has become unplayable for me sadly. This hurts me. With that said I will be taking a break from the game until all is resolved.

I dont have a fancy high end gaming PC like most people but my graphics card is ok. Its a AMD Radeon HD 6520G Graphics card in my laptop.

I can usually achieve 30-35FPS even 40FPS all on high settings, just under the Subsample graphic choice.

Now I only get 20-22 FPS MAX, even on the lowest settings!!! Even in areas where there arent any players and when facing a wall! This has virtually made the game unplayable for me. This sucks because GW2 is the only mmo THAT LOOKS DECENT on my crappy laptop.

I wonder if ANET will address the minion AI issues Necros have. As far as defending this profession its really about bringing light to certain aspects of gameplay where the Necro does not shine compared to other classes. This is FACT and I hope that something positive is done to change that FACT.

Thanks everyone for your replies. When I say broken, I referring to the things that could use improvement for said profession. Speaking of the Necromancer, Minion AI is horrible for example. It should be a viable build in all aspects of gameplay. Right now, berserker builds are good in all forms of gameplay. I think this should be the case for every type of build for every class.

My vote goes to Necromancer.

It needs improvements like no other class. In PvE no one wants a necro in their dungeon runs. This saddens me because besides Mesmer, Necro is my second favorite class. I only main Necro now, and I should be able to enjoy the game without being rejected from playing with others during dungeon runs due to being a Necromancer.

All players, no matter their profession, should be able to enjoy all forms of gameplay, ( PvE, WvW, PvP ) not just certain ones.

Like the title says, I’m not giving up on this build. It’s so unique and interesting. I’ve heard many players tell me how broken MM is due to the crappy AI system in Guild Wars 2. But I don’t want to be forced into playing something else because it’s more effective. I want to play what I want. MM is really good in open world. Dungeons I haven’t tried yet since iam only LV 48.

My question is, what gear should I focus on? Berserker? Soilders? I may WvW roam here and there. But mainly open world is the route I’m going for after I get all my gear together.

Looking to grow as a dark arts magic user.

So pretty much after reading a few blogs about the Revenant and reading what the developers are calling the revenant an Anti-Hero profession . The definition of the word revenant ties with death as well. I think it’s safe to say that Guild Wars 2 has its Heavy armor protection profession, that uses the forces of Light, The Guardian, and now we have our Revenant, summons dead legends power and stuff. It’s Arena Net’s version of a dark knight, death knight, Etc… (Btw I say dark knight because its a class from the final fantasy series. Not that bat man crap.)

My name is Karma Mindbreaker.

I chose that name because, Karma is the state of action and principle that has cause and effect. Giving out to receive something in return, or what goes around, comes around, what you put out, you get back. Jus like Chaos Storm and Chaos Armor, you hit me, I will give you conditions and recieve boons in the process. I felt the name Karma would be a good fit for a mesmer.

I chose the last name Mindbreaker to further express my love of being a manipulator of reality, illusions, and mental control over my enemies. Plus I love shattering my victims mental state.

As a glorious and lovely Mesmer, I try to do my best in tPvP matches, and as a power shatter mesmer, I do pretty good against other classes. But it’s those kitten squishy, hard to catch thieves that always focus on me. I can’t stand it! It’s so upsetting that Mesmers can’t really do much when facing them.

Earlier today I fought one, and caught him before he went into stealth. Shattered my clones and myself as he landed a few hits on me, and I got his health down to at least 55-60%. Then he reappeared out of stealth, attacked me again, at this point I used decoy and then he entered stealth. I was at 45% HP, but I was quick enough to use my staff then GS shatter on him, just as he began to use blinding powder and HS. He then reappeared out of stealth in the down state. Lucky me I guess.

This is highly upsetting that Mesmers have a hard time with them. When I play on my S/S – LB Condition Warrior, I have no trouble fighting any class 1 on 1 and even some 1 v 2 depending on the player. I always seem to score the highest score on my team as a warrior, getting kills, and I have even downed 2 players at once a few times. I’m rank 75 btw.

So why is it easier to fight all the other classes as a warrior but when it comes to Mesmers, they need to watch their back, specially with thieves.

After reading your post, you brought tears to my eyes. It fills me with joy when I see that there are outlets for people with health conditions. Despite whatever you are going through, and even to many of us who are healthy, guild wars 2 is a game we can become engaged in, to forget about the world at times.

This post reminds me of a particular episode in the anime “Sword Art Online II” and how a guild leader and her 5-6 other members all had severe health problems that halted their physical abilities in the RL. They all engaged in the MMO Through a virtual reality display, where in that world they were able to walk run and fight, amongst many other activities they could not do in the real world.

The guild leader had the worst health conditions out of all of her guild members, she was virtually non-responsive in RL, she couldn’t move, talk, etc. but in the game she was one of the most, if not the best swords woman there was. At the end of her days she was honored by everyone in the virtual world ( for she had an advance form of AIDS that would take her life in the show). It really makes you appreciate everything about the game, and your character(s) even more. Because games aren’t jus games anymore. They are also apart of life.

So Jaymee, don’t worry if people say otherwise because even though iam healthy, I enjoy this game jus like you do, I work and pay bills, yes, but Tyria is a life I get to live in order to escape from the current reality. If you ever want to play or party up together, that would be an honor! Karma Mindbreaker is my dear Sylvari’s name. She is me in another world. I hope to hear from you soon!

I am part of [TCRP] Tarnished Coast Role playing guild. Me and 4 other members are taking part in a DnD style campaign. We are also role playing as our characters in-game through emotes, and using dice via online. I’ve never done anything DnD before, but my guild mate who is running the campaign has. It’s a lot of fun, and our story is jus getting better.

If you’d want to join our guild, you can if you want. Even if tarnished coast is not your home server. We just act as a hub for those who wish to role play, and Tarnished Coast is the Role Play server for the US. If you do not play on US servers, then the Role Play server for EU is Piken Square. The fact that people have been discussing it since beta would suggest that there were indeed things pointing towards it, ergo not unfounded.

The supporters have been arguing it despite continuous evidence against the theory. All evidential support they had was debunked upon release.

But ArenaNet goes and make the most illogical, asinine, and ridiculous but “common” theory canon lore.

It’s pretty kitten clear this wasn’t the fate of the sylvari upon their creation or during release.

I don’t know, just because player were able to guess it doesn’t mean its bad. Remember the series Lost? You know where the writers were so determined to be smarter than the audience that they purposefully took the series into the most stupidest directs? Yeah, I’d rather ANet not do that.

It’s become clear to me: ArenaNet has someone or someones who’s too kitten sensative to their feelings over their work that they intentionally kitten it up in a way to make it into what the players claim to want.

What’s next, Anet? Kormir no longer is a god, it is the PC from GW1?

I think this “revelation” is utterly bullkitten because 1) the “theory” has been debunked time and time again by the game itself and 2) sylvari being dragon minions (purified or otherwise) has always come off to me as a terrible story decision to try and take, as not only are they nothing like the pre-established dragon minions, but I feel that this would destroy the uniqueness and the entire concept of the sylvari being “a brand new race born in a time of turmoil”. We have many stories that feature races, nations, and other groups struggling to survive a time of great turmoil in various degrees, but just about every single one of these races/nations/groups are well established, or are a rebirth, but never – or very, very rarely – the beginning of the race who do not know why they were born into a world on the brink of the end. To reveal that “why” as “you are descendants of the world-enders!” is just plain silly and unimaginative to me.

How exactly was that theory unfounded. When it all came down to it, it does justify how Sylvari can be consumed by nightmare and how it’s virtually impossible to bring them back to the light as they are originally made to be Mordremoth’s minions and that all Ventari did was to show them the path to the light.

The theory that Nightmare was Mordremoth’s corruption was an entirely different – and actually supported – theory that made some semblance of sense, unlike the “sylvari are dragon minions” ‘theory’ (and I use that word very loosely).

Dear ArenaNet, I don’t kittening care about your story anymore. Congratulations. You just managed to ruin one of your biggest fans since 2006, one of the biggest contributors to the wikis until last year, and someone who was eager to be part of your company until that same point last year. You had a chance to bring me back. I’ve been patient with you, hoping that despite the constant continuity errors that the Living World (especially Season 2) adds in, that you’d fix your path. Well, it’s obvious you didn’t. You decide, once more, to go with the “rule of cool” and ignore this fascinating thing called logic and continuity.

Congratulations, ArenaNet, and goodbye.

If you see me in-game, it isn’t for the story anymore. It’s for the mindless acts of killing pixels. Though Quake does a better job at that.

I haven’t even played Episode 8, but this single spoiler makes me not want to. To think I was actually looking forward to the update today. But no more. If I do play it, it’ll be to complete the Carapace and Luminescent armor, or to satiate a potentially inevitable curiosity about how, exactly, they decided the kitten up.

It’s been good knowing you lore community, but this is my last straw. If you see me on this forum again, it’d be habit and no more.

Edit: Oh, and it’s been said in an interview/by Caithe in TA story (I can never recall which and wiki doesn’t have all TA story dialogue up) that Faolain was, indeed, the first to encounter Nightmare – however, she didn’t fully fall into it until much alter, when Cadeyrn, already fallen to Nightmare, pulled her into it, where she then replaced him as leader of the Nightmare Court.

So like the title says, I am having issues playing D/D meta ele. I don’t see how this class is so OP. For example. Playing as a LB ranger is quite easy to pick up. Or a turret engi. My favorite class, the mesmer is even easy to play, and I love the lockdown mesmer.

When I pick up a D/D Ele, I know how to do my combos, air, fire,earth then water. But for some reason I cannot hold a point from 2 players, or even some 1v1s I fail. Thieves, Guards, even mesmers are a issue. I think I need more practice. If not I feel like deleting my ele, and remaking my mesmer.

The Mesmers have their own Guild. For TPvP and other means.
Do we as elemental spell casters have one? If not we need one. It could greatly benefit our profession.

Sooooo I picked up the Lockdown Style today, using the GS and staff combo, and oh my goodness iam loving it!!!! I score the most during PvP matches mostly. The joy of AoE Boon stripping/ Interrupting, while elegantly Teleporting in my nice glamorous outfit is more than divine.

Mesmers will always be my favorite class, and I dont even play any other chrs.

I love the ES series! I actually had a Spellsword type of chr in Skyrim. In Guild Wars 2 your closest thing to a Spellsword is a Mesmer ( They are Magical Duelist). They have a trait line in their build menu, called dueling. They are more “FIT” to be a spellsword vs a Guardian. Why? Guardians are more of a Holy warrior/ Warrior who uses magic of protection. Spellblades/swords use an array of magic, mostly magic to harm however.

Which is why Mesmer fits best, Im sure you are familiar with Illusion magic from the ES series. Mesmers are masters of illusion and reality manipulation just to let you know as well. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mesmer
