What game are you playing? I have been playing GW2 since beta and headstart 3 yrs ago. I play pretty much every day, usually several hours a day. I do all kinds of things but the one thing that I have NOT done is grind ….. so again what game are you playing?
I am in the process of making Bolt since I did have Zap drop and almost done with it, but again I have done NO grinding …… again I still can’t figure out what game you are playing ……?

Last time I played was bored to death by the game, wvw was for me “meh run like a tar*”, only thing I like is build balistas,catapults,etc but are waste of time since it costs too much to build and easy to destroy, I abused Ranger so much in pvp that i got bored to death, main story line was so repetitive that I could not stand it. Dungens were ok not so boring as fractals.
Dont think im total noob, played alot the game and managed to get 1 legendary, but after the mat grind I was sick of the game and realy could not stand it anymore, so im just asking if is worth.

I actually find the game fun to play and I have been playing since the beta/headstart 3 yrs ago. I play almost every day, usually a few hours a day.
It was worth it for both my husband and I both to pay the $100 for the Ultimate edition.

Honestly if you are not having fun then why play?

I may start the Gliding for Maguuma masteries and then head into the Halloween stuff and see about upping the Tyria masteries, probably a level of the legendary and then a level of pact commander and then another level of legendary and then a level … etc

I usually pick a zone and just go around and kill things, do events and harvest everything. Sometimes I do it while I am doing map completion on a char that does not have it. Sometimes a low level area and sometimes a mid level and then sometimes a higher level. Sometimes I do several zones, it all depends on what I feel like at the time.
Yes I know the new legendaries don’t need the vanilla map completion for making them but I still like to get all the wp’s and stuff to un-fog what I can, lol.

Normally the time for the holiday stuff to drop is at Noon PST. It’s been that way since almost the start of the first GW. And normally they have specified the time.
BUT since they are dropping an expansion at the same time they have not said the exact time so therefore a guess of sometime between 9am PST and 5pm PST is close to what it will be.

Any specific time anyone (besides ANet themselves) gives is just a guess and only a guess.

The pre-HoT legendary’s will still be there in the same exact way as they are now. They are NOT going away AT ALL!!!!

They are just adding more legendary’s and changing how to get them. Instead of waiting on the RNG god or farming huge amounts of gold to buy the precursor you now have a legendary journey to go on to get the legendary weapon.

HoT and Halloween will be available on Oct 23rd. They should release it sometime between 9am and 5pm since that is the regular office hours for ANet.

You will still need it to craft one of the other legendries that already in the game.
The new legendries are a scavenger hunt type thing. Much better in my opinion for those that the RNG gods don’t favor to have one of the old precursors drop. I will still use my gift of exploration for Bolt since I did have the precursor Zap drop from a trash mob in SW.

And at some point they will start the Living Story back up. So more content will be coming with that too.

And where does it say that Silk is the one they are nerfing? No where does it say what material is being nerfed ….. calm down until you know what is really going bye bye ….

Once you have the traits/skills unlocked they stay unlocked, and that includes the elites when they are released on the 23rd.
You can change anytime you want as long as you are in combat and that also includes the elites as long as you are not in combat.

They have been doing it this way since the start of the first GW. I think they know what they are doing. I am surprised that most games out there still do hours of down time to update and download content to people. And sometimes the hours run into being a day or even 2.

It depends. I check how much they are selling for on the TP. If the blues are selling for 2x or more than what I can get from a merch then I will sell. If not then I salvage the blues.
For the green and higher it all depends on how many I have. (You end up with lots of greens and gold from doing SW) First I will see how much the greens are going for on the TP, again 2x or more I may sell there. If not then I will start doing the mystic forge. I usually end up with some golds from the all the greens.
For the golds it all depends on what I feel like doing. Either salvage for materials/ectos or selling on the TP or doing the mystic forge to see about getting an exotic.
Exotics are about the same as golds. I may sell on the TP or salvage, all depends on what I feel like at the time I have them.

I know I will try them to see if I like any of the elites. If I don’t like them I can always change back really easy. So I just figured why not try them for myself? I mean, no one knows how I play except for me anyway …….

The low level areas are not ghost towns now … what makes you think they will be ghost towns in 1 1/2 weeks? Part of the dailies are in them, part of the masteries are in them, part of the fun is in them, etc. Been playing since the original beta and I am not tired of any of the zones. I don’t spend all my time in any one particular zone so I don’t get bored.

Half are gone? Did you not realize that you can fill those empty slots in while you are underwater to then again have all filled?

You cannot make a beta char right now anyway. You only can do it when a beta is open and there are no more betas since Heart of Thorns launch on the 23rd of this month.

What I usually do is if I am in the game and it gives the new build msg in x mins then I will just finish what I am doing then I will log out of the game and then look on the Wiki for the DL notes. I will wait till the notes show up there and skim thru whats on it. I may even go do something like the dishes / make a juice / start lunch or dinner / etc. That’s usually about 45 mins to an hour after the patch/content goes live. If I get a phone call then it could be 2 hrs. Usually by then it’s ok and the bottleneck is gone.

A couple of hours is not going to make or break getting the content done.

I seem to find lots of gold nodes in WvW in the borderlands. I know you may not want to go in there but I don’t have that many problems in there. I am usually by myself and die if one of the other 2 W’s find me .. oh well, part of the fun.

Because that is how they planned it. Sorry if you feel like they should have consulted you first on when to have Heart of Thorns launch or when Halloween should start. By the way they have never had the holiday’s at exactly the same time for both games. They have always been a few days off between the two.

Go to a restaurant / starbucks / mcdonalds / library and log into their Wi-Fi to download ……..

We only have 2 weeks until the expansion releases. How much more do you want to know and not have the option to discover on your own?

I doubt if any OEM vendors are specifically developing drivers for Window 7; it’s days are numbered, two years if I recall correctly.

MS is still doing security updates for Win XP. Not for the general public but for large corporations since some still are using XP for stuff. I know that where my other half works, some of their machines are still running Win 95 for some of the programs needed. Most of the computers have gone to Win 7 but like I said there are a few that are still Win 95 and some Win XP. Large businesses are not upgrading all that fast, I know that place he works at they did not put Win 8 or 8.1 on any machine. The IT guys all hated because it was hard to make it work with all the other parts of the company.

Pretty much everything gives XP in this game —- rezzing someone, harvesting nodes, doing hearts, doing quests/events, hero points, map completion, etc. Don’t pass up anything, do everything. Events that you find happening are the ones that give you the most XP.
If you get bored of one area you can always go to your home city/town and then use the portal to go to Lion’s Arch and then from there you can hit the home cities for all the races and the starting area for those also.

Halloween is just a couple of weeks while HoT will be there always. For myself … I will do both. If I tried to do one thing only for hours then I would get bored.

The $50 is the expansion price.

That is unless you pay more for the other 2 levels. Both myself and my husband bought the Ultimate so our price was 2x that. But for us that’s fine since we enjoy the game quite a bit and have since the original’s beta.

They already did show us how it will work last week when they also talked about Guild Halls. It was 4 days of Twitch streaming which you can watch most of it on their youtube channel now since they have uploaded most of them there by now.

Since no one in the public has played the raid yet …… we just do not know for sure about anything with the raid.

Because the Beta is not active yet you cannot create a char. When the Beta goes live then and ONLY then can you create a char

Things will change from now until the release and there will also be some more balancing after it goes live.
While they can test all they want with just a couple of hundred (maybe) right now in the office, things are different when you have thousands and thousands playing at one time. Those thousands will be doing things and mixing things in different ways than they thought of. No matter how often you test it, it takes going live for some bugs to be found.

I am 48. My husband is 50. Both the sons play, one is 30 and the other is 28. We also have an 8 yr old granddaughter. She may be playing games online but right now her dad (the 30 yr old) allows her to play online MMO’s like Wizard101 but not GW2 …. yet. She can read at a much higher grade level than her actual grade. She may play later but right now her dad (and I) think that it just is not the game for her.

It is up to the parents/guardians of the child and no one else. The clause is more for ANet to cover themselves in case someone decides that it is too violent or whatever by what the child might see or read or hear. Some adults have problems with some parts of the game already ….. ie killing Skritt in a heart ….. There could be one parent who does not know (because of divorce) that the allows them to play and could try to pin it on ANet that they should’ve killed the account because the one playing is under the age limit. There are quite a few reasons like that for that clause to be there. It puts the onus on the one that agrees for the child about the TOS since a child cannot legally enter into an agreement like this.

PU is a super OP mesmer build and has nothing to do with pugs. When you get burst for 30k in 1s from stealth then congrats you were killed by a PU mesmer.

I have played online games since the BBS days … it is also used to talk about pick up groups …….

ANet usually gets into the office around 9am PCT, which is Noon ET. So they usually drop any updates after the usual time they start for the day.
