Really?? He was basically asking what was in LS3. He wanted to know if there was artwork yet. What areas would be uncovered. What dragons(s) would be in it.
I answered with exactly what we know so far about LS3 and what we don’t.
Other MMO’s are starting to do this too. You buy the expansion and other expansions (if there are any) and the core comes with it. Not sure why this is a problem with some that play GW2.
The only things we know for sure are is:
Yes there will be a LS3
Yes you will need to have Heart of Thorns to access it
The things we don’t know yet:
If you only need to just log on to get it for free (thou I think this is for sure they just have not said it)
If you can log in without having HoT and still have access if you buy HoT later
What the story line will be
Whether there will be another Dragon to go after right from the get go with LS3
If there we do start after one right away then which one will it be.
Thx alot guys. I actually already bought soldier exotic set on the TP. All my gear is power/toughness/vitality. Rings, amulets, everything. And I need about 100 hero points for my elite spec so I guess the best way for them is just to grind out hero challenges on maps?
Hero challenges in core Tyria are worth 1 point, they are each worth 10 points in Heart of Thorns. If you do world completion you will still need 3 to 4 Hero challenges in the Heart of Thorns area to get the complete elite spec.
They answered #1 at the same time they announced the expansion so long ago.
So it’s one slot that it used among all the chars. I know I will be slowly changing out all my bags for shared ones so that I don’t have to worry about who has what. All my chars will soon now be carrying the same bags and items.
Even after 3 years I have not seen everything in any part of the game. Even after playing every day I am still seeing and doing new things.
No one said you had to get it right now. The 10,000 drink achievement will still be available after Wintersday ends on the 12th.
Ummmmm some of those are open right now in GW1 for you to play till your hearts content or at least until Monday.
I don’t think it’s bad at all. I and everyone I know is having a blast in the expansion so this post is nothing but your own opinion and not based on fact.

As someone who is trained in stage combat and has been for years it’s not worrisome to me.
My husband has actually just choreographed a melee with 16 people for a stage play of Peter Pan ages of the actors run from 9 to 62 (?). Funny how it’s ok to ask kids how old they are but not adults.
There is only one way to do 2 of the exact same legendary and that is to have 2 of the same precursor drop, made thru the Mystic Toilet or bought off the TP. Even if you made Bolt thru the new way and then did it the old way it would not be considered the same for getting the achievement – Twice-Told Legend, Present a matching pair of bound legendary weapons to Historian Dozza in Divinity’s Reach – You cannot do this with the new craftable ones, it is ONLY done with doing them the old way.
Why do you believe it wouldn’t work for Twice-Told Legend?
Because it needs to be the exact same thing twice. Since the second Generation Legendary weapons are only craftable once, this means you can’t craft it a second time for the title. You can make a First Generation Legendary and reskin it but the game doesn’t consider a reskinned First Generation Legendary the same as a Second Generation Legendary. If you mouse over a reskinned item it will say that it’s [name] transmuted to [other name], or words to that effect.
Because ANet also said that the “new” craftable legendaries can only be made once so could not be used to get the title and achievement. Only the “old” legendaries can be made twice to get the legendary. It does not matter how you got 2 of the same precursor as long as it’s not the “new” way.

I bet if we took a toll to see if HoT failed there are less fan boys than the people that actually know it failed. Which means it failed basically!
The problem with this is no matter how YOU got the information it would be wrong. Why? Because you are not seeing what ANet is seeing about who is playing where and how many are playing at any one time. No matter what you or I believe it would never be what ANet is seeing ………… and they are not discussing numbers, they never have in over 10 years.
It is not fun. A lot of people hate it like me. It does not give the same feeling as Core Tyria. A greater challenge they said. Better rewards they said. All I get is the same junk. I don’t have any incentive to go there. I am better off farming Silverwastes. It is more fun. And all the timer madness is broken and casual unfriendly!

Only ANet has the numbers on how many are playing and in what areas. Only ANet knows how many copies of HoT they sold and how many are playing. Do not talk of things that you do not know anything about.

Downscaling is the most stupid idea on this planet. How much more balancing does this game need?!

Downscaling was one of the major selling points for quite a few people 3 years ago. I am one of the many that likes the downscaling.
As for when you are “done with this game” ….. I have been playing since the beta / head start 3 years ago and I am not done AND they keep adding to the game (it is an MMO after all) AND they just came out with an expansion (which I have and well it is an MMO after all) so not sure when the “end” will be because I don’t want it to end as I am having way too much fun with playing.
As I said before, this expansion is not worth 45€ atm (feel bad for those that spent 100€). Very unhappy customer.
You may be unhappy but I am not and I am one of those that spent the $100 for the ultimate. No regrets whatsoever from me, my other half nor everyone else I know personally that paid the $100. Those that I know personally are all having a blast with HoT. So don’t bother “feeling bad” for us for having fun in the expansion, but rather feel bad for yourself that you are not having fun.
Double check with the wiki. Some are part of another collection. I found some for one and then checked and needed to take some for that collection to a different location to “burn” for a different collection. Or at least one item I had to take and talk to give it to someone else for another collection.

As to whether the game is “worth playing” …. only you know if you will like it. I like to play it and don’t really play any others at the moment as I am having too much fun with this one.
If there is going to be a season 3, I certainly hoped it does not require HOT (as in season 3 take places in the HOT maps).
They said WAAAYYYYY back when they announced the HoT expansion that LS3 would require HoT as the story would pick up where HoT left off. It’s been known since the very beginning that if you wanted LS3 that you would need HoT.
No pay wall if you can just use in game gold to get them OR the fact that they were free if you just logged on while the current chapter first opened like quite a few did.

WvW is not required for map completion anymore so even if you complete it, it won’t count anyway.
They are account wide. I only have one set of the tools and I switch off with who has them to whomever I feel like playing with that time.
Only takes a couple of mins to open the char that has them and to put them into the bank then open the char I want to play and to take them out.
I am having loads of fun and so is those that I personally know. There are others that I sorta know that are also online and playing just about every day. Sometimes in Core GW2 and sometimes in HoT areas of GW2.
The thing opens today …… spoilers will be out in just a few hours anyway….. If you didn’t want to know then you should have just turned off the computer and the radio and the TV and don’t answer your phone until you see the movie. That is the only way you should not see any spoilers.
There is the Wintersday tree from the one achievement that gives out a present a day that has been updated with the rewards from this year —- drinks and all.
I have several stacks of them and don’t need them. If they weren’t account bound I will sell them. I am hoping that one of these times they change them to not account bound …….
They’ve had achievements in the Guild Wars franchise since the start 10 years ago. Yes there have been ones that took a very long time and quite a bit of holiday’s to get enough drinks or sweets to do them. Very normal for them.

Try playing with a bug with your camera settings going wonky for days. Going one way and then your char goes in a different direction and then the camera snaps to the way your char is now going. That’s the bug that crept into my settings somehow last week. Finally got fixed after some tweaking. Support was very helpful with having several things tried and trying to recreate the bug that I videoed for them to show what was happening. Mine is finally fixed and I was able to do some jumping for getting some vistas and stuff without going down a cliff.
They do work on bugs when people do bug reports and let them know what’s happening.

I am actually working on every legendary collection. Just playing and all the parts are appearing in my inventory. Amusing as I am not farming at all, just playing like I always do.

You need Heart of Thorns to unlock.
It takes 4 days AFTER you upgrade and unlock that you then get the feature

To me “end game” means that there is an end and the game is over when you are done doing x quest or event. Since this game has no end and it keeps going I don’t see what you are asking.
As for what I do every day online? A little PvE or WvW, I may get into PvP at some point but I still have so much to do in PvE that I don’t have time for any other mode at the moment.
While you may not be having I am and so is all my family and friends that are playing both in core/vanilla and in Heart of Thorns. Yes we all find Heart of Thorns fun. And by the way there are lots that are having fun playing in the game and not on the forums. Might surprise you to know that a vast portion of the gaming community do not go on or follow forums. I do because I don’t work and so I have time to play and read what the devs say and they do say a lot.

Ummmm the Candy Corn nodes is from Halloween not Wintersday. As for the nodes, they are coded but not supposed to show right now so they go away again —- fast.

Hmmmm, I downloaded it so fast I didn’t see how big it was and my connection is the data connection thru the phone. It’s usually not all that fast.
To those of you saying that precursor crafting is more expensive in terms of gold cost, you’re doing it wrong.
The cost to craft a deldrimor ingot is about 4 gold. Yes, I know it’s time gated, but I’m only talking monetary cost right now. If you take your time and actually do the crafting part yourself instead of just buying all of the materials off the TP, you save a ton of money.
You clearly haven’t read the thread. Yes, we know crafting the mats is cheaper than buying them off the TP. That isn’t the issue. The issue is that you could’ve crafted the mats, then sold them on the TP, bought a precursor with the proceeds, and ended up with more gold than if you’d crafted the thing.

You are complaining about how I (and others) choose to do a legendary? That we are not doing it the way you feel is best? Too bad. I will do the legendary how I feel like. If I want to craft everything without selling all my mats and just buying the precursor then I will do that and you can’t do anything about it. I am over 18 and I will do it how I want.

Some love it and some don’t like it much then there are those that have not bought it nor tried and will tell you exactly why it’s bad and some of those even put out very long reviews 12 hours before it went live.
I for one am enjoying it quite a bit. There are lots in WvW, I see them whenever I go in there. I am enjoying all modes of the game. I have done no grinding and do not ever foresee me ever doing any grinding as I am not one to want things ASAP. I just play and let the mats and collections come.
Some love it, some hate and some have not played it and will tell you everything they think is wrong with it but they have not stepped foot into into it.
I bought the expensive version and have not regretted it at all. I am enjoying it quite a bit. I have not found anything that I don’t like about it. Been playing it with no grinding. You see I do not see the need to grind to finish anything ASAP. All the legendaries and masteries are just coming along as I play and have fun.
I play the whole game …. core and HoT …. and I am having fun doing it.
