That has never been part of the ANet’s philosophy for the games that they have made in the last 10 years or so. Why would they change now?
Really? It takes that much effort to put the tools in your bank with one char and to take them out with another? No problems and really no time to do that. How can I say that? Well that’s what I have been doing for the past 1 1/2 yrs ….
The wiki has listed what is what bag …. I get all levels of clothe, leather and ores from bags and every char I have is level 80. It all depends on what level of bag I am opening.
Getting Elite Skills Like in Guild Wars 1

People begged and begged for this ….. ANet added it …… People then condemned them for adding this …..
No, I don’t think they will add this again ……….
I know its to discourage gold sellers but the majority of the community uses gems to get gold anyway.
Do not speak for the majority ….. I do not and have never gotten gems to get gold. I seem to just acquire it in game without trying. I play, I sell on the TP, I sell to merchs. I get so much gold from just playing that I have given out over 300g to family and friends when they needed a hand for things they wanted.
They did not “nerf” dungeons. All they did was slightly reduce the gold gotten. The rewards are still the same, the dungeons are the same.
On the other hand they do now have the new 10 man dungeon/raid available.
1 – Build Templates? Never used it in GW1 and doesn’t bother me to not have it in GW2
2 – Improve rune/sigil system? What system? Been playing since head start and have yet to add any to anything … matters not to me what they are
3 – Bring back older skins? Does not bother me since I don’t buy them …….
4 – Poor Supply of Mystic Coins? Really? I think I have sold 1,000 of them since the start of the game if not more.
None are important to me … maybe important to you
Don’t try to speak for everyone
The last few years I start changing all the things that need the time changed (microwave, coffeepot, alarm clocks) thru out the day so that by the time night time hits most of the items say the new time and my mind seems to start to get used to the new time with out the jolt that usually happens. Of course if “real” time for those few hours is still needed I do have the cell phone to fall back on.
It’s only 10:30 am right now where I am at and I have already changed the alarm clocks on the side of the bed and the coffee pot. I don’t look at those that often thru out the day so they are done early so I don’t forget them. In a few hours I will change the microwave … I have to be careful how early I do that one as it’s the one we do check the most often for time besides the cell phones, lol.
The month long sale is only 1/3 over ….. you still have 2/3 of the month to go for anything you might be wanting.
As for me, I could care less about those things. I want storage expanders to go on sale and/or char slots. If there is anything else that might catch my eye then I might buy it but those I want, lol.
First off here are 2 sites I use to look up information when I can’t figure out the answers:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page
http://dulfy.net/
Second thing ….. Did ask in map chat in game for help? Most will help answer any questions you might have. I know I answer questions all the time in game. If you need help just look me up in game if you are on the NA servers. I am on every day, several times a day.
Yes and more than likely the highest package available to get. Paid about $100 for the core game and had fun for 3 years, actually I still have lots to do in core. Paid $100 for HoT and not regretting it one bit, I am enjoying it quite a lot.
I would like to see anet change their mind and put some energy back into dungeons because they are actually one of my favorite things to do in the game. A better reward system for them would be nice, but other than that dungeons are great. They are a great medium between raids and fractals.
You have still the 5 man dungeon’s with just a little bit less gold rewarded.
Now you have 10 man dungeons that you can do, otherwise known as raids.
All you will get here are opinions – nothing more than opinions.
Only ANet has the numbers of how many log on each day, of how many play on each map, how many do the raids, how many bought HoT, and how many play on those maps. All anyone else can do is give their opinions about the numbers and stuff.
I don’t hate raids. I actually like them being in the game.
I don’t like them affecting other content being released.
They don’t.
This has been confirmed repeatedly by the raid team themselves and ANet’s upper management. They are completely isolated from the living story team, the fractals team, the pvp team, the wvw team, and every other team. They are a team of 5-6 full time employees out of ~300 employees. Additionally, the tech that the raid team has developed has actually proven useful in other areas of the game, such as in fractals and open world content. The only impact the raid team has on the game is positive.
Pretty sure they don’t have 300 “employees” anymore. That 300 number was during a time when the xpac development was in full swing and most likely included quite a few temp ppl.
The latest numbers we have came from Mike’s AMA:
We have about 120 devs working on the live game, 70 devs on Expac2, and 30 devs on core teams that support both. Within these groups we have cross-discipline teams with focused missions. For example on Live we have the PvP team, the WvW team, the Fractals team, the Raids team, the Living World team, the Legendaries team, and a couple others. The teams are charged with carrying a feature from inception and design through completion. When they finish, we typically package work from multiple teams into a single release, then we hand it off to release teams for final voice integration, localization, QA, and release management.
So about 220
That’s only the devs …… what all the support people? The techs to keep the computer systems going? The office personnel? The cleaning crews for the offices? So yea I can believe that 300 or more are working there still.
This explains every piece and where to get the parts from the achievement’s.

Is this what is being asked for again?
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hero
The elite skills take hero points. It all depends on fast you acquire the hero points you need. I had all hero points from core Tyria when HoT came out and only needed 4 from HoT so that means not long. My other half has not done all the ones in the core game so he’s done about 12 in HoT and just finished his elite.
By the way the hero points in core are worth one point while the ones in HoT are worth 10 each.
You have asked this same question about 4 times in different parts of the forum. Have you not received the answer you like yet?
I am 49, female and been playing online games since the BBS days. My other half is 50. The 2 boys are 31 and 29 and oh yea the granddaughter is 9.
I guess none of us are “mid 20’s” lol
Is HoT Worth It At This Current Moment?

I bought the $100 version of HoT and so did my other half and several others that I know. None of us regret buying it. We all play in all areas and are having fun in HoT and Core Tyria.
Really it’s all up to you whether you will think HoT will be a good enough buy to spend the money. No one can make that decision but you.
You can actually buy 2 from the Gem / Trading Post to have up to 4 active at one time. AND it’s per account and not per char so once you buy them every char could do more professions.
This one you also started …. and you always seem to comment on others about the TP and things “dropping” in price or “Oh look ‘someone’ just bought 1000’s this morning … what is going on” stuff. One could almost believe that you post just to try to drive the TP just so you could maybe make more gold.

I wonder how long before BOTH get merged with ALL the other threads about this?
If you are upset that the masteries are not working even thou you have HoT than that is a bug and should be reported.
If you are upset because an expansion (HoT) came out and you did not buy it and yet you want what the expansion has then welcome to MMO expansions. That’s how they work. Sorry but masteries are part of the expansion and will not be available to you if you did not buy the expansion.
I go into WvW about every day. I see lots of people playing on all sides. Not sure why people keep saying the it’s dead. If it was dead then no one would be in there playing and that is just not the case, there are lots playing. Maybe YOU don’t play it anymore but others still do.
What else but Buffalo where the wings started? But if you are talking what to dip them in then it is Blue Cheese dressing all the way!!!
I’ve had wings at different places all over the USA and from one end of Canada to the other and there are none better than wings from the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, NY.
EDIT:
Hey I just realized that they have now branched out from Buffalo, NY!!! Going to Vegas in May and guess where I am eating at least once!! Boy do I miss my wings from the Anchor Bar.

I just took a level 80 char that had NOT done the 1st HoT story part straight into VB about 2 days ago. I just went thru the portal. Not sure why I was able to do this, but I was and I did.
People do spend gems to get extra sets of the tools. Not because of not wanting to switch but to match the different sets of tools to the “look” of their character. No I don’t have extra sets, just one that I do switch between all characters.
It would make sense to me that players who play regularly are more likely to have bought HoT. Playing more regularly indicates greater commitment to the franchise. While I do see a lot of players without the MP indicator, I’ve no way of knowing how many of those are free players. We also have no way of knowing how many of the 1.5M monthly account logins are players who log in for login rewards and then log out while waiting for Anet to produce something they’d like to play. I did that for a while, and I doubt I was alone.
Wow, I have seen just the opposite. I go into the major cities or while waiting for a world boss and even if I don’t see right away the MP indicator, I click on the person themselves and it shows me quite clearly the MP indicator. The only time it doesn’t is if the char is under level 80. Out of hundreds I see less than 10 that are level 80 with no MP indicator.
Who hates this game now because of HoT?

Feedback: I love Heart of Thorns
The expansion is $50. For those that did not have the core game they now get it free with buying the expansion. Quite a few MMO’s are doing this so that new players coming into the game won’t have to spend $100’s just to buy into a game, they are giving the core away free with the expansion purchase. Not sure why this is so hard to understand for people in this game.
I personally bought the original when it game out for $150, have had fun for 3 years. Then when the expansion game out I pre-purchased it for $100, and I am still having fun. No regrets for me at all. For 3 1/2 years of fun pretty much every day I payed a total of $250 which is an average of about 5 cents a day. Can’t go to a movie for that, can’t go to a theme park for that, there is not much you can do and only pay 5 cents a day to do in this world anymore. I find it very fair value for my money.
Glider that you can put your guild emblem on with your guild colours. That would be awesome. Since capes are a little hard to do with clipping issues then maybe a Guild Glider would be good?
Every day when I play …. I have enjoyed the game since beta and head start and have not stopped enjoying the game at all. I also have the expansion and have enjoyed (and still enjoying) that too.
The people who liked GW2 were expecting more of same kind of content. And HoT is really not same thing at all, so players complain.
Not sure what this thread is about. If you have customers who are not satisfied with your product or service, they can ask for refund. Is this really such a surprise for you?
I play and like GW2, have since beta over 3 years ago and I was defiantly NOT expecting “more of the same content”. Why not? Because they told us it would be harder, they told us it would be levels of terrain to glide and fall off of. They even let us play in parts of the first map. Did they tell us everything? No but then neither does any other MMO that I know of, and honestly I would not want to know every little detail as then it would be boring to play.
Story mode is attached to the character, not the account. It should stay that way since it is a way to get XP to level up your character. The same as WP’s and crafting. All tied to the character and not the account. Take all that away and you are left with very few ways to get as much XP to level a character and every one after the first will take wwwwaaaayyyyy longer to level.
Either buy the expansion to get all the specializations or don’t buy it and don’t have access to the expansion content.
Anyone remember using those extra hero points to buy stuff like elonian wine? Was research done on this to gauge if those HPS were somehow refunded? If they weren’t, you could very well have people with toons that have full world completion and next to no leftover hero points.

Skill points and Scrolls of Knowledge were converted into this currency as a part of the June 23, 2015 game update.
You can trade with other players. What you cannot do is advertise a trade in chat. Nor can you complain to CS when a scam happens.
I would rather not deal with waiting around trying to sell things in chat, nor do I wish to have to make sure I am not getting scammed. I make more gold off the TP than I ever did in any other online game trading player to player, and that’s even after paying the fees to the TP.
Really? I see loads of people whenever I log into WvW. Not sure where everyone is at when you say you are seeing no one. I see lots.
Events award quite a few XP. That’s events and not hearts … Exploring while looking for events is good too, you kill 2 birds with one stone then.
Wow. An event that is entirely optional and you don’t like it and don’t want to play it so you trying to tell people (“I Hate Dragon Ball (and you can too)”) that they too can jump on the hate bandwagon? Really??? If someone doesn’t like that just don’t play it, it’s the same exact as last year so why would it be different this year? Yearly holiday events hardly ever change in any MMO so again why would it be different this year or this MMO?
My main I have played him 1,675 hrs, 52 mins over 1,252 days
All chars 2,149 hrs, 3 mins over 1,253 days
Wow you just figured out the evil plan of every other MMO out there.
What grind? I keep hearing people say it’s grindy. Been playing since beta over 3 years ago and have not grinded yet and don’t plan on it and I have more gold then I know what to do with and I keep making more whether I want to or not.
how much gold…100? rofl.
but yeah its still grindy, no rewards, nerfed dungeons…you need to play 24/7 to save some gold, or buy gems and convert to gold (f2p).
I don’t know about PyrateSilly, but I’ve never bought gems to convert to gold.
Off the top of my head
Got to 2000 gold, then the wardrobe came out back then and I spent all I had buying skins. Got back up to 700, spent it on buying a permanent bank access. Then I spent a couple of years crafting ascended weapons and buying ascended trinkets with laurels: opportunity cost for ingots, planks and trinkets is hundreds of gold minimum, perhaps a few thousand. Got up to 3500 gold, spent 2000 plus on dyes when the 3rd birthday dyes came out. Spent 450 gold yesterday on a ghostly infusion. Outfitted 10 chars with exotic armors and originally exotic weapons. Plus whatever other purchases I’ve made.
All that from playing the game over 3 years time, crafting and harvesting. No gems to gold.
Honestly I have not kept track of all the gold I have had. I have NEVER used gems to convert to gold. Gold is just too easy to make and find in this game. I have given gold to family and friends when they run out and get right back to where I was before within a week. Right now I have almost 300 gold and that’s only because the Lunar New Year just started and I am buying the red envelopes every day.
What grind? I keep hearing people say it’s grindy. Been playing since beta over 3 years ago and have not grinded yet and don’t plan on it and I have more gold then I know what to do with and I keep making more whether I want to or not.
You can also wait until they release the 1st episode of LS3 before buying HoT to see if it’s cheaper then. Decide when the episode is released, in the past we have had 2 weeks (sometimes longer) to log in to get the episode for free. I don’t see the 2 week free thing changing.
So you just want the answer given to you without doing the very simple math to have the answer in less than 30 secs? I do it all the time for my GW chars when I sign on there.
In the chat box type /age then when it tells you how many days old the char is just divide that number by 365. That is how many months old it is and then you can tell how many more months you have left before the next birthday. Not hard to figure out.
