Also, dodging and evading something while OOC will put you in combat, because now with a trait your evades apply confusion to enemies, and confusion does damage…
Actually, even if it didnt do damage you would still be put into combat. They changed that a while ago to make it that conditions like blind put you into combat. So confusion followed the same path.
Now it does damage but it doesn’t matter because it was already putting you into combat.
Why not go to that dungeon guild that teaches new players stickied on the dungeon forums. I think they can help you learn how to skip stuff.
sadly, [noob] is rip, nobody takes care of it. Iris quit, Sarahfull was made the coordinator/leader, mentor list got deleted by Iris, Sarah said she’ll create a new list and thats about it. even after reminding its the same answer “ye i’ll do it” and still nothing FOR MONTHS. you may say it sounds like a rant – and you’re right – it’s incredibly irresponsible to manage such a big and sticked initiative so poorly
because managing a dungeon mentor guild is easy i guess
Perhaps he doesnt realise that for being invested in such a guild you actually have to pull the strength of keep playing the game, even when there’s nothing on the horizon allowing you to do so.
Let’s be honest here, the “death” of the Dungeon Mentor guild is more than expected to happen if Dungeons themselves are abandoned. There’s little strength to keep teaching the same thing for over 3 years. Perhaps you should ask the previous students to carry on with the legacy, but they won’t: they used the guild for their own agenda and there are very, very few of them that actually give back to the community.
There’s even some that only go there so that they can get Dungeon Master title easily and then leave.
Maybe what’s in the wrong is not the Mentor’s dedication, but rather the abuse from the others.

I think more than nerfing players what this game needs and always needed is a buff to dungeons, not the reverse
Adding that Mesmers can use Arcane Thievery to send like 40 seconds of burn back to boss. Unless duration changed with Condition rework, but I doubt so.
Moreover, Rangers have torch for good burn. Entrangle and Human elite Avatar of Melandru skill 5 (Binding Roots) work as decent immob.
That got me wondering… if a Necro pulled all the Burning his allies were eating at Tar and send it back to the boss, could we get a nice condi burst through intensity-stacking burning?
For Shoggroth, what are the best ways to keep burning up post patch? What about immobilization?
I know Warrior can still just use Combustive Shot, Fan of Fire, Pin Down and Throw Bolas.
Also, are his projectiles unblockable?
Hey, first of all his projectiles are unblockable and unreflectable. Secondly, they cannot be power blocked with the mesmer trait because I think it’s an autoattack (which is all he has). Not sure if this information is valuable to you at all but I figured I would include it anyways.
As for the burning… warrior only has longbow F1 and fan of fire, but if elementalists are in the group they can trait for it with both burning precision and arcane precision, but additionally they can cast glyph of storms in fire attunement, use the signet of fire active, use staff’s flame burst and a lot more. One elementalist is more than enough to maintain permanent burning until 75% hp.
Warriors can now trait for burning on longbow autos!
I think what they meant as test server was PTR – Public Test Realm. They dont have PTR.

I am struggling to figure out: how will they make “challenging group content” when they clearly didn’t expect this much facerolling with the newest patch?
Unless they meant to make old content even more faceroll and HoT content is already prepared for this. I don’t really believe this last option to be the case…

Its me or now PVE is even more faceroll than before? Just did lv 20 and lv30 (already have done higher before patch), and, even having a bad party composition, we melted everything.
I believe the explanation to be simple:
- Attribute points on equipment have been increased by approximately 30%.
- Base attributes at level 80 now scale to 1000 instead of 926.
Basically bad pugs with tank gear got a little more damage now. Which means your average pug got buffed, yay!
“Cloak and Dagger: This ability has been combined and its damage normalized. Damage of this ability has decreased by approximately 17% in PvE and increased by 25% in PvP.”
Can anyone explain why CnD got nerfed in PvE? Is it because of WvW?

Im sorry call me pessimistic all you want, but in about a year from now, instead of having biweekly Gemstore weapons/outfit patches, we are going to have Gemstore weapons+outfits+new guild decoration skins+new glider skins

Well the 50 bucks is either:
- HoT + core game included in pricing in a good discount
- Just HoT and free core game
Either of the 2 options is really awful for a veteran player, we’re either paying for something we already had or new players can ride a free GW2 game while we, the ones who supported the game all this years get the short stick
They even told us in the FAQ that we would need the base game to play the HOT, but if they only sell HOT with the core game isn’t that deceiving customers?

Its still big damage on skill use. Theres just a small portion thats a constant dot. Thats a good change. It makes it half decent in PvE at last.
It’s good for PvE. But the reason behind the change is old: reminds me of NPE.
They’re making sure that Confusion is atleast always getting some damage in, regardless of the enemy counterplaying it.
It’s catering to a brainless playstyle of “apply and forget”
It’s brainless either from a caster’s perspective and from the receiving end.
From the caster’s perspective now it’s always a good idea to use confusion, because it will always deal a DoT damage → encourages spam when off cooldown
From the receiving end: you can no longer negate the effect of confusion by just not spamming attacks, because now they reduced the trigger-damage and moved it to a constant DoT. You’ll always take constant DoT no matter what you do. You’re also less punished if you don’t give a s#%t about the Confusion the guy applied on you because the trigger-damage is smaller now.
All in all, both sides being adjusted to allow more casual-friendly brainless spam of skills.

This change is stupid in everyway I think about it. On one side: it removes counterplay of crippling/chilling to prevent someone from escape using mobility skills! On the other hand: useless mobility skills with switfness, RIP.
CONFUSION
- “To make this damaging condition more reliable, we’ve changed what it does, splitting it into two effects. It will retain the damage on attack, but at a lesser amount than its previous version. That damage has been added back in the form of a damage-over-time effect.”
Aaaaaand this game keeps getting more brainless each time! They make it deal a constant dot, reducing counterplay of not attacking, since now you’l always take a DoT and the trigger damage was reduced!
They keep making theses changes so that player don’t have to even use 1 brain cell when playing the game. I’m getting tired of this

By the way, I’ve had arguements with that guy already. He won’t STOP. He will always try to be the last one responding, even if the arguement is long solved. He feels like if he is the last response in the conversation that will give him reason. Perhaps you should let him, he clearly has some issues and he seems pretty enraged.

Its a vicious cycle. NO ONE, not even Anet can tell us that the players who enjoy dungeons are the ones who spend the less in gems.
Why? Because frankly, the big majority of dungeoneers are unhappy customers. They havent been catered to at all, why should they support the game by purchasing Gems and give Anet the sign that everything is going well?
Vicious cycle: dungeoneers dont buy gems because Anet doesnt give them dungeons/fractals; Anet doesnt make more dungeons/fractals because they dont buy Gems.
Well, no kitten! And I can tell you from my experience that about half of my friend list are dungeoneers and they havent touched the game for MONTHES. Maybe if there was actually content being developed for them every once in a while (not every 2-3 years), they would actually still be playing the game.
This just goes to show that both the activity and profitability of total chunk of people who play dungeons is extremely unreliable and thats why I hate that Anet keeps using metrics to justify their planning.
