We had another wonderful night of WvW as a guild. We brought the fight to Ferg and Kain in their homes with a successful guerrilla offensive. Nothing beats killing a zerg twice your size simply because you communicate properly.

Your best bet is going to be trial and error.

I’ve gone from D/D to P/P to S/P and now have settled on that. I give up my extra stealth skills for more damage, crit chance, and crit damage. I also top that off with more debuffs and conditions via signets and the like. Do I see many thieves playing this way? No, but it’s me playing and I kick kittens with my setup cause I tailored it to myself.

Just play the class and don’t be afraid to try new things and possibly die.

You are making a confusion here, although i kinda understand your statement.

The thief class is by no mean a class that requires “little thinking” with easy rewards, thats presomputous and arrogant, to put it bluntly.
Most builds will actually require a lot of reflex and awareness of your surroundings, along with precise initiative and CD management.

If you’re talking about BS, yea it works pretty well in spvp because many players are still completely clueless and can’t defend themselves.
If you mean you just get in spvp, pick a target and 22222222 yea it’s totally kitten doesn’t require any neuron whatsoever, and gives great results rewarding brainless gameplay for a way too low initiative cost, autoaim and pretty decent gap closer (especially combined with the autoaim).

Otherwise if you try to be a bit more creative, P/P, S/P and D/P aren’t the cheesy walk you try to make it sound it is.
Don’t confuse skills that need tweaking and a whole class itself.

The fix is simple, give a class like the Ranger or his pets a way to detect stealth.

A standard MMO fix to the situation but I’d rather see stealth fixed in general.

It bugs us in combat and it does not break inductions. Like wise thieves sometimes. or purposefully, find themselves perma stealthed and can use it quite a few times.

Maybe make it that when a Thief gets damage, it actually breaks stealth?

Likewise make it so when we stealth it ends all inductions targeted on us.

The thief class needs work, like every other class. Balance comes from all classes in the game, not nerfing one or two. Thieves being OP is over exaggerated by players lacking the gear/skill to survive an ambush. The whole point to thieves is to catch a player off guard, and if you panic then your dead.

Build the community.

Guild dungeons it is a very good way. I liked very much this part in Atlantica Online.

The guild leader bought a key, he/she started the dungeon. It is started from guild town. All guild member can join to it. Kill everything as fast as you can. Clear all stage for higher rewards. The basic idea is very good, you guys, you can create it better, Using the bright side.

For example.
- Guild must unlock first all type of guild dungeon.
- Guild leaders / officiers start the guild dungeon for influence. (Easy/Normal/Hard mode 5 000/10 000/ 20 000 infulence)
- All guild member will get the end reward in mailbox, if he/she participated
- Every dungeon have a cooldown (2-3 days) because, no1 farm alone that dungeons, it’s worth it to take part in

Which guild dungeons what the task/mechanism should be a surprise for us.

Having guild only content would help bolster the community, especially the smaller guilds. Your ideas definitely need a little tweaking but it’s certainly a good place to start.

It’s been suggested quite a few times

The problem with a suggestion like this is that it only moves the problem around, rather than solve it. Sure, Queensdale will be bustling on the day it’s a ‘Hot Zone’, but what about the other low level areas? And what about after it becomes a ‘hot zone’?

I suggested something like

• Nic the Traveler in GW1, where you’d have to get a certain amount of items from each zone, and then hand them all in for a reward. Can be done once a day, Nic stays in the area for a week, travelling around each day, and then moves to a different zone (rather than outright telling, he gives a clue, in which you’d have to hunt for him then).

• Order Missions – Randomised missions where people would have to go help out in different areas, with tasks that tie in with the theme of the Order. Would be given out at random.

• Area Ranks – Each area would give a number of tasks (redo a number of Hearts, find a Bounty, redo a jumping puzzle, do a number of different events in the area) in exchange for rep. Increasing rep lowers Waypoint costs and merchant costs for that area. Can be done once a day.

This! I love this idea a whole lot and would love to see it added.

The Burning Eden [TBE] ~ Devona’s Rest

Greetings,

The Burning Eden [TBE] is looking for players on, or willing to relocate to, the Devona’s Rest server. We are an actively casual PvX guild that participates daily in all aspects of Guild Wars 2. While we have no age requirement, the average member is in his or her twenties. We do not discriminate against race, class, or level. All are welcome to share our hearth.

If you enjoy daily trips into the dungeons across Tyria then look no further. Our members are constantly looking for others to join them on their next adventure. For all you Fractal fans have no fear, we run plenty of that as well. Whether your interests are dungeon runs, exploration, public events, farming, or just general PvE you’ll be among friends with us.

For some, PvE just doesn’t cut it when it comes down to epic battles of siege warfare and enemy players. Nothing makes me happier in this game then roaming the borderlands with the guild and bringing death to the enemy servers. If sPvP is more your thing then don’t worry, we have members looking for other players to form teams for tournaments. The guilds leadership is well versed in all aspects of PvP, predating the original Guild Wars game. If this is where your interests lie then pledge your service and be welcomed among us.

We have very few rules in the guild aside from what common sense should warn you against doing. We do not require that you represent the guild unless your taking part in guild activities. Likewise, promotional consideration will go to the active members that regularly represent us and show a genuine interest in the guild. If you join and never talk or participate then don’t wonder why you’ve never made it past Recruit.

We still have plenty of room for players to grow within our ranks and your participation is always noticed. We use Ventrilo for all guild events and it is asked that you use it to at least hear given directions, talking is optional. Having the ability to talk rather than type cuts down on miscommunication and can be a life saver in PvP.

As long as this doesn’t turn into a WoW druid I’m on board. If it’s a jack of all trades it needs to remain a jack, not a king or god.

My server is just as active as it used to be. All we lost were the GW1 fanboys that wanted an RPG and the content locusts. Sorry, but I highly doubt this idea will even be considered. It would be hard to implement since technically all servers run on a super server and they’d have to make changes to everything.

I’m a GW1 veteran who bought the CE of GW2 because I enjoyed GW1 but I’m not enjoying GW2 the only thing I’m doing now is WvW.
I know GW2 is a different game but it could be a better game if the developers did what is wright.
I want some things in GW2 to be changed:

1-we need more skills to be put on our weapons so we can have more builds.
2-the ability to save builds and change builds without having to pay(put gold sink somewhere else).
3-no armor breaking (put the gold sink somewhere else). The reason is many ppl will not fight cuz they will lose money so they will run or logout.
4-fix what is wrong with the game first before adding new content.this will make it a solid game.
5-monsters NPC health reset immunity to damage and respawn time all need to be fixed.
6-fix Orr and the super fast zombies and put some distance between em.
7- no more nerf to loot stop pushing everyone to the gemstore.

If you agree or disagree put the number and say yes or no and hope this will reach the developers .

1- I’m all for adding more weapon/utility skills. Your right in that the first game was great thanks to the absurd amount of builds possible.

2- I made this suggestion a month or two back. I loved having my builds saved and while I don’t mind paying for switching my talent builds I’d like to do it freely.

3- No. Armor repairs are certainly a viable part of the game and it adds to the penalty of death. Taking that out will just turn dungeons in WP zerg fests. There are/will be other fixes to the whole Alt-F4 problem in WvW.

4- I think most players are saying this as well. There’s a lot of small bugs which greatly impact the game and it needs to be addressed to make everything polished.

7- The gemstore is where they make money. I’d say having a small set of unique items only available from the store/bl chests/dailies is perfectly acceptable. I take the $10 I would spend on a sub fee and instead use it in the store. You can also buy gems with money, sure it may cost a little more, and buy the items that way. I’m not entirely sure what you mean by nerf to loot considering there’s nothing game changing you can buy from it. Food, Upgrades, Weapons, and Armor all come from in game content, not the gemstore.

I like this idea so long as ANet fixes the stealth bug. By that I mean I routinely now, since the last couple of builds, find myself stuck in combat after stealthing while in combat so I can no longer regen until logging out or killing enough to fix it.

So with this idea, which is the best way to handle the issue, a thief that isn’t running for it’s like or even necessarily near combat could log to reset the bug and in turn log back in to find himself dead, which you should log into just to prove a point about Alt-F4’ing.

I saw these hard mode/challenge mode ideas kill instances in other MMOs so no thank you. We just need a few more dungeons with a little more difficulty. Here’s the thing, when you get good enough to steamroll hardmode then what do we suggest for next? Epic mode? There is a point of no vertical progression.

My only issue with my class at this point is stealth bugs. They need to fix how sometimes our stealth lasts twice as long and how sometimes when we stealth against NPCs to get out of combat we in fact are bugged in combat so our health regen never triggers.

Aside from that I love being a thief, best class to play if you like to move around.
