It’s the duration aspect of conditions that cause them to take more resources. Also depends on how much feedback they send back to the player.

I know in COH, when they introduced the detailed numbers it caused some issues for people with slower connections, and so they had an option to turn off the buffs/debuffs/etc numbers being sent to the client.

What if each player had their own small stack, and then a “universal” stack?

Example : First ten stacks of bleed go to the palyer, but after that, they get put on another stack that caps at fifteen, that everyone contributes to? So a single player would cap 25 bleeds (no different than now) but two would cap at 35, etc?

However I have been thoroughly amused at times. I tend to hide my dev tags when finding a PUG, and then halfway through the dungeon I will tag up, and watch everyone leave the instance within minutes.

Well, at the time I asked that question I thought that I could only add offline users by their display ID, because I’ve had trouble previously. I was testing it on users I know by user and multiple character names, online and offline. I found you are indeed correct.

Since I can indeed contact people that are offline with their character name alone the reason that I am asking is solely for the purpose of guild security, ease of administration, and familiarity. I want myself and others to know a guild member by their display ID.

If/When there is a problem that needs taking care of, I don’t want to have to go to the game and remove someone from my friend’s list, add them back, and then compare the list to find out who the person is, or have a similar situation just to add someone that applied that found our website through another website. If someone deletes a character before I am able to add them, it would make them impossible to contact them.

I would like to validate it so that a user at least cannot input an invalid display ID. I understand this may seem like a question that is requesting somewhat sensitive information, but I assure you the reason I ask is simply for my own guild’s recruiting purposes via our website (which I am currently developing), and automation/ease of administration. I’d like to avoid recruiting completely random players in map chat that exert no more effort to show interest than a message that could be produced by a gold spammer. Likewise I’d like to enforce several rules for my guild and maintain a certain social atmosphere and guild structure, which I believe must be represented in web services outside of the game. Having accurate display ID’s would make this much simpler.

Along with the addition of the .####, I’d presume the display ID follows the character naming rules.

Like most people, I have a whole pile of achievements which I’d completed that got un-completed during the latest patch. Of them, pumpkin carving is the annoying one since it cannot be regained. Hopefully they get fixed on the 26th.

One interesting bit that has come out of this…my new mezzie loves the Feedback glamour, especially after casting Illusionary Warden, but even by itself. Anyway, she’s now ‘completed’ most of the projectile weapon achievements like Longbow Master, Dagger Master, etc even though she cannot actually use those weapons. Apparently reflected weapons count towards those achievements, and since I’d already actually completed them and only needed one to recomplete, it made it obvious what was happening which is something I didn’t know before.

What do your other characters use? All achievements are account wide, IIRC.

If you can log into the website (which you can, apparently, being able to post here) what browser do you use?

Chrome and Firefox I know both let you a) view what sites you have saved passwords for IF you told them to save the password, and have a way for you to actually VIEW the password. (Chrome go Settings → Hit Advanced Settings at the bottom of the default page, then go down to “Passwords and Forms” and choose “manage saved passwords”. Then find the site, click on the password area, and hit the “Show” button that then pops up)

Specifically, Elementalists (they already get 4 attunements/20 skills to change between on a single weapon set) and Engineers (they get all their tool kits – med, grenade, etc) don’t gain access.

You should take this opportunity to fix the “1 under” bug with the Hints achievement, too. That one for me has been stuck at 82/83 (if memory serves) for awhile, even though I have every hint checked in the hint document.

Asking for a color blind mode – it seems that for most, having an option to switch the UI elements from Green to blue (heal numbers, AoE indicators, health bars for PVP) would help most of the people who need this, but if more option could be made, that’d be great.

We have to run dungeons in PvE. Your point? We WvW players also have to do more PvE to get a legendary. Is getting 500 badges that hard? 1 month of WvW should get it for you.

I seem to be lucky to get 4 badges per foray into WvW not counting the JPs.

Tuggernutz – one major difference between GW2 and a restaurant is that people breaking the rules has an immediate negative impact on other customers. That and the setup doesn’t allow for real time interactions that well. But take it from me as someone who works in a restaurant – we WILL tell you no. We WILL tell you to suck it up and go elsewhere if you abuse our goodwill. I’ve even hung up on customers before. Not our normal thing but we only take so much before we write you off.

As far as XBox goes – I’ll be impressed at their customer service skills when a chargeback is no longer easier than removing a credit card from their billing section if you used it to subscribe to XBox live. Maybe it’s changed since then but I’ve never dealt with a subscription service that told me I could not remove my CC info while having an active but completely paid sub.

The only problem I have is that (as you said) the JP’s weren’t meant to be “real content”, but as a bonus.

Now, they’re suddenly required to finish a monthly.

If they’re required, they should be tweaked or repaired so that all races can have a true chance to do the puzzles without the player becoming outrageously annoyed and frustrated due to things the player has no control over.

Actually, the way that monthly worked was odd. You only needed to “discover” them. For some it meant finishing them, but for others all you had to do was get somewhere near the entrance. Also, you could “discover” the same one with multiple characters and I’m pretty sure that you could re-“discover” the same one with the same character each new day (when dailies reset). That achievement was odd all around.

I wasn’t too fond of that as part of the monthly achievement either way, but I just figured I’d clarify that. I guess I’ll still take that over needing to play tournament games for the PvP monthly. I have never finished a PvP monthly because I have zero interest in tournament games, at least for now. I just like my PvP a bit more laid back (and ideally with less drama), I guess.

Also heard you cold abuse Lion’s Arch’s normal overflow state and log in and out and hit different servers and it would count.

It was never added, it is something that has always been there – the system has to assign ownership of the instance to someone, as far as the players are concerned. It’s whoever started it. Can’t recall if fractals have cut scenes but I know in Dungeons that’s how you can tell the leader if its unclear. The leader is who shows in cutscenes.

Pretty sure it will be one or the other. If there is an actual item probably blue or higher there will be a chest, if its grey its on the body. This way you can decide whether or not you care to loot something before doing so. I generally just spam F over the whole area regardless but whatever I guess.

However, I did not realize that I won’t be able to transfer back before the free trial period of transferring is over. Would it be possible to remove the 7 wait period? I find the server (Vabbi) that I currently am in has barely any players in it and a bit worried about my choice. Thanks in advance!

On the plus side, guesting will go live when the transfers are changed to pay only. Should help you a ) find a new server and b) play with others while accumulating the gems for a transfer (note they have said higher pop worlds as a destination will have higher transfer fees)

And I don’t see Colin’s post as a promise it will fix the Precursor issue. (Bah, feels like a Jak and Daxter game with all the Precursor talk) Merely that they will address it some. There is a difference.

My “problem” is that Colin’s post tells us nothing, and folks like yourself are acting like it tells us so much. It says nothing, and that’s part of the problem here. This isn’t proper communication.

We were originally told to expect an expansion’s worth of content in Jan and Feb. Then Colin basically suggests that it won’t be as big as we expected, and the bulk of it will be delayed to Feb and March. Now we’re being told that it also won’t include a feature promised to us back in November. But it’ll include a “new rewards system”.

1 – please show me where they said an expansion’s worth in Jan/Feb – everywhere I’ve seen/recall, it’s always been Jan/Feb/March (based on the fact that a good chunk of December has them on vacation). Simple curiosity here.

2 – I don’t ever recall a time frame for the scavenger hunt being promised to us. They have to both design a system, and the lore for it to fit in.

3 – While lacking in specifics, it lets us know a few things more. That a (implied less-RNG based) way of getting precursors is coming. That we have the big blog post coming next week it sounds like. And they haven’t apparently scrapped the scavenger hunt.
