They’re looking for common points. It isn’t simply your ISP involved in your connection to Anet, Several different companies could very well end up handling your connection between you an Anet. Your ISP could be 100% fine, but someone who they hand off to could very well be the ball-droppers.

Not that hard to spoof a from address. You simply tell your email client what to list as the from address and there you go!

Considering that you can buy gems with real money, for Anet, any reference to purchasing gems will always be in the context of “with real world currency” unless explicitly stating otherwise.

It’s not a bad idea to read up on UTC – UTC doesn’t have daylight savings in it at all, so as long as you know your ofset and if you are in a daylight savings time zone, you can be sure of when something is.

I think the thing is they had two choices – disable Dragon Ball, or disable health regen via food – and with the moa races already down, they didn’t want to bring dragon ball down as well.

Also, Dragon Ball apparently uses the sPVP setup, and they might of been worried about some “cross-contamination” because IIRC, sPVP is supposed to suppress food in general anyway.

I fail to see how this is an exploit. It is something that has been available since the launch of the game. A new more common mini was introduced. It is equally likely that they wanted to increase the supply of minis on the market and this was their way of doing it.

If they wanted to increase the supply of rare/exotic minis this way, they wouldn’t of taken the ability to forge them away.

On the flip side, to me it doesn’t seem as bad as several other exploits – it (mostly) followed the pattern set since the beginning of the game unlike either the previous karma weapons or snowflake jewelry exploits.

you need to provide a game key provided at purchase, the date of purchase, the card you used to make the purchase…

so if you no longer have that one email from a year ago that they sent as a receipt, you are basically f’d.

While the ease of resetting a password via support is much easier with the serial key, it’s not needed. Although to be fair, pretty much EVERY game is like this if you are unable to supply the key.

I keep my key in a password manager – makes it easy to find in case of an issue.

My grandfather had a wind chime that was made of joint replacement/repair parts that cost thousands of dollars each – rendered practically worthless once a better method using different parts was approved.

And while most of it seems to be artificial, don’t forget how volatile the fuel market can be when a refinery is taken offline for whatever reason.

How about this? I got an achievement point ( for taking first prize in a Moa Race) but didn’t get any tokens. How fun is that? This needs to be fixed. I have attached the screencap with the achievement at 1/3. But no tokens ( Anet can check that in my received mails). So how about some restitution for these bugs?

Also – if people were cheating i suppose there should be a rollback on the gold lost on the Moa track. I seriously don’t understand why these things aren’t checked before they’re released.

It would be INCREDIBLY easy to check for exploits such as these. Just get 100 randomly selected players and promise 100 gold to the first player who can break ( exploit) your content. Then fix it before you release it. Is that so hard?

In GW2 it simply means you cannot equip more than one. The game does not prevent you from carrying more than one at a time.

Hopefully the above fixes it for you. Note that this isn’t an account issue, but a technical one – and that has it’s own forum with it’s own list of frequent issues and frequent posters.

Just a general rule for MMOs – if you see Unique in the description (not flavor text) either a) double check if that means anything special in that game, or b) assume it means you can only have/equip one at a time.

Based on past incidents -

Under no circumstances does Anet re-send serial numbers. They value them too highly. However, several other pieces of info your friend would hopefully still have can substitute (when added together). (Approximate) Purchase date, card type and last four of card used, name of one or more characters on the account, etc.

Also, if your friend was hacked, has he tried asking his email provider for any help in restoring old emails?

Not that I know of. The week is kind of locked in, short of support helping out, and in the past they’ve only moved characters as part of restoring an account after a hack.

They can submit a question to support, or they can try the reset with one code, and if that fails, then the other.

If they ask support, I’d just say something like “Trying to figure out which code is which account, is this account use the code ending in XXXX or YYYY?”

And you are aware that until you specifically create one, you don’t have a support login?

I tried infusing one with agony resistance that i bought from FOTM but I am still not able to wear both. As for transmuting it doesn’t work for amulet,rings and accessories plus it did not give me any warning at all. I guess Anet won’t do anything for a small timers though.

Note we mean infusing by way of the Mystic forge, not slotting an infusing in like you would with a rune or jewel.

Living Story is inconsistent in both the content and quality. we just had loads of mini solo/group dungeons and an entirely new dungeon for 2 weeks replaced with re-hashed content, a few farmable chests then a 1 room instanced “boss” mechanic the undermines the very reason you chose your profession and now yet another Meta-Event" that is more of the same re-hash.

A waiver of all rights to intellectual property in exchange for the assurance that it’s used in the way and for the reason it was supplied is not a hard document to supply or to agree to.

Good point regarding the armour styles, however I suspect there would be many of each type submitted so I guess it would be a case of choosing a light/med/heavy out of all those submitted.
Scaling armour to fit character models and balancing vertex wieghts isn’t rocket science and is no where near as time consuming as I would imagine Molton Facility was.

Living Story consistency suffers two issues. The first is it’s new. The second is each Story is being made by different teams. The people who did Flame and Frost are not the ones doing Last Stand at Southsun. Some of this will change as they get used to the concept and developing for it, some might not. With the #2 that’s always going to be the case.

As for IP waivers : Different places have diffent rules regarding what IP rights are transferable and how they are transferable. In most places, you have to have an explicit renunciation of the right, not implied (like via the EULA/TOS – that’s why the EULA/TOS only asks for an unlimited non-exclusive license). Heck, they’d probably want something phsyically signed.

And that doesn’t even cover the potentially damaging scenarios :

“Hey, that’s my work, IT WAS STOLEN!”
as well as
“My kid is a minor and doesn’t have the right to give up his/her rights!”

And the issue with armor styles isn’t simply coming up with the concept art, but building them. It’s still all that effort to create them/transfer them into a format the game can handle. And while a decent portion of the race and gender issues can probably be handled like you say, something don’t stretch nice even so.

I want more items that reflect the stark visual design that is the art of GW2.
The concept art holds that dark fantasy image that many love about the game. Nowhere in those images do I see quaggan backpacks and bows that shoot unicorns.

See, one could argue that unicorn-bows and quaggan backpacks say “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a kitten” beyond anything else in the game.

As far as making armor vs the weapons we get now, there are a total of 19 weapons vs 8 armor slots.

Other than some possible scaling, those 19 work for all races/genders, and usually they don’t make the bows too different, and we haven’t been getting each weapon with each release.

Even skipping the aqua breather, and the back piece which seems rather hit or miss, one set of armor is 6 pieces. We have 3 armor types, 5 races, and two genders. So skipping back and aqua helm pieces, that’s 180 pieces to release for each armor type to have a full set released. 60 if you want to cheat and only do one (either by doing one set and rotating heavy/medium/light, or having the set work as all three.)

So anywhere from 3x to 6x as many pieces.

Living story isn’t just artists working – there are creature builders and writers too. Enviro artists don’t necessarily do armor/weapons.

And for legal reasons, most companies don’t like simply using fan-supplied work (even if it’s compatible with their system/graphics rig).

reports are always checked out by a human before any action is taken. Don’t worry about it.

The bit with the number (in your case, Ironarrow.3058) is your “Display Name” – it’s your public name, and isn’t used for any secure purposes. It’s similar/identical to global names from City of Heroes and other games with “universal” handles.

What I bolded is important when reading the first amendment. With the EULA/TOS you agree to in order to play Guild Wars, it’s not Congress (or any other section of the government) abridging your rights of speech. Its you and Anet. Identical to how if you go to a business or home your host(s) have the right to eject you for any reason, including offensive language.

I work at a restaurant, we’ve asked people to leave for their language as it offended other people, even if it wasn’t directed at the other people.
