When you say you have email authorization set up – you don’t have it set to remember your home IP address?

This isn’t an account-type issue – try the tech support forum. They have had issues like this and there are some things to try that usually fix it.

Have you never received it? It should only email you when you log on from a new IP address.

I see three options :

As already mentioned, your friend is/was lying.

Your friend was screwing up his password somehow.

He did get hacked.

Just to verify – have you asked your friend if they know their “Account name” is their email address, not the display name (which is their forum/global name)?

They are not going to.

Security questions can help, but depending on what is used, can be figured out. Not so on the account key.

However, if you bought a digital version of the game, and it was from ArenaNet’s website, search your emails – they email it to you after purchase.

If that doesn’t help, you can submit a ticket via the support site’s “Ask a Question” setup (link at the top of every forum page). They will ask for various other bits of info and see if they can gain satisfactory proof you own the account.

EDIT : For me the email was from the “ArenaNet <noreply@guildwars2.com>” address, and they call the account key a “serial code”.

There is a key for continuous run. Check your options. Or hold down both mouse buttons (right click and left click) at once and use the mouse direction to steer.

As to your specific question. ANet never approves outside programs. They ignore benign ones though. If they were to approve a program and it eats your computer or is used to cheat then they are liable.

The default should be “R”.

Where it asks for account name tell your friend the use his e-mail address. Seems to be the problem that most new people have loggin in. If not hopefully support can get him in soon.

Yeah, account name = email address. The name you chose during registration is simply your global/forum name.

Note if he used his real name for that he can/should ask for a rename.

The first response you get is automated. It’s just to let you know they got your ticket and also to weed out people who have easily fixed problems. It’s the follow up responses that are from an actual person.

Yes, but the responses that I’m getting are exactly the same as when my account was banned for that jumping puzzle bug. So I’d rather get a staff member here on the forums that I can actually talk to.

If it’s anything other than “We have received your ticket” it’s not automated. It might be a form letter, but it’s not automated.

In a couple of days, if there has been no further contact, you can post your ticket number (or have your cousin post it for you) in the “Tickets 3 days or older for review” thread. Don’t post sooner, Gaile will ignore it.

As for the bit about the Dawn – sounds iffy to me. Anet does not go into peoples account and remove items.

Maybe try swapping that H for an extra U when you get in game?

And have you tried to log in again since then? Sometimes when they tag a name for rename the game shows a 72 hour suspension but it then gets removed shortly thereafter.

Recommendation – do you have a smartphone?

The game uses Google Auth – I’d recommend starting that up ASAP regardless of what happens. There are also, I believe, ways to get tokens that can work with the Google Auth program if you don’t have a capable smartphone.

And technically it’s two achievements this time – you need all the kites for the “Got all the kites” achievement.

You never NEED your serial (which should be in an email if you bought it from GW2.com’s store) to submit a ticket – just makes the process easier. And yeah – your password is stored in your browser apparently – Chrome, IE, and Firefox all have ways of viewing stored passwords.

If you bought GW2 from the guildwars2.com store – you got it in an email.

If you bought it digitally elsewhere, you should have an email fro them, I’d think.

Otherwise, you would need to find the box from the physical purchase.

Oh yeah, definitly don’t have the whole guild do it.

The only real fall was from his seat as a free god. The others were defeats.

Beyond the fact that it has already been confirmed that the fractal would be when the other human gods turned against him, a fall implies surviving when applied to a person/entity, and a loss. The second on your list there he was in the same position as before after his defeat, and the last he was dead (IIRC my GW1 events right).

The window to withdraw account achievement awards is for the rewards of skins from the achievement awards – so the Zenith weapons and the Radiant and Hellfire armor pieces are what would be in there, after you choose them.

Might I suggest “Players helping players” as there are several threads about this issue already in that forum. (Which is where I went to find my solution just a couple of days ago and was able to get enough info to find the elusive #175.)

Yeah, if you buy the bank expansion in the store vs. buying the expansion through the bank window, you get the expansion as a mailed item.

So using the same info you use to log into the forums (if it’s auto-saved by your browser, check your browser’s privacy settings for password storage and view it via there – IE, Firefox, and Chrome I know all allow this by default, pretty sure Safari does as well. Maybe you have a misplaced character?) you cannot log into the game? The forum and game login are the same.

If that doesn’t work, you need to hit up support (link at the top of the page) and file a ticket via “Ask a Question” – if you have not before you might want to create a support account (they’re separate for issues like this)

Using the Mystic Forge, you could infuse one of them to have inherent agony resistance. That would make them different from each other.

Zoomunlocker does lead to bans. Usable in PvP (specifically WvW although sPvP might have it’s own issues) it can be used to aim siege where nomrall i t will not fire

Adnul is worse than a grinding game. With a grinding game, you at least have a sense of progress.

A suspended account would have a time of suspension, where once expired it could be used again.

A banned account is one that is terminated, and unless appealed via a support ticket is never accessible again. I believe from previous forum posts you can not buy a new serial number and attach it to the terminated account. That account is closed and can not be reactivated other than by a support agent when it was terminated in error.

If an account is banned, yes, ANYTHING you do must be done through support.

You can occasionally put a new serial on the account, but only with support’s help (and giving the okay) but that generally only for issues with payment on the original purchase (right around launch there were several reseller sites selling codes for a “discount” that had been bought from GW2 main site, and then they did a charge-back after selling the code for example).

Anyway, support is linked to at the top of every forum page.

As you can apparently log in, if you go an click on “My Account” you can re-download the installer.

You can “buy” a static IP address, but it costs extra. Well, lease is a better term.

I go through periods of being one town over for my “region” to about 100 miles north, for my IP, based on ads.

No – those are account wide and last just fine.

Achievement chests will award one a day when you log in until you get all your backlogged chests.

If you don’t log in during a given day, no chest is awarded, but it doesn’t go bye-bye either.

As for Dragonbash, the only one I recall you could do after it was released was the fireworks show – all the others you could still do on the last day, in theory.

Try visiting the Chantry of Secrets. For some reason, even if you already have it, it tends to trigger the gift.

Your first warning is the TOS. So yes, for a first suspension the term is normally 72 hours.

There are 7 kites scattered in jumping puzzles. One is on top of the dome of the arena in the Obsidian sanctum (has skritt guarding it). If you get all seven, it gives you an 8th achievement that counts, IIRC – so that’d be half the achievements for the meta without going in.

If you go to the Main Haven HQ in Lion’s arch, there’s a instance you can view that gives an achievement at the second story.

Just going to the cliffs is another achievement.

Diverse Trader is an easy grab – zone in via the boat, go forward, and when you reach the waterfall bridge, turn right – there’s six or so merchants that will sell Zephyr boxes for crafting mats – talk to all of them.

Grabbing baskets in the normal zones – click one, it spawns 2 bags – need sixty bags. Bags are grabbed by the “account” but again, reset with server reset.

Mine all the nodes – and make charged quartz at “commune” skill points (one per day, day ends at server reset). do this 8 times and there is another.

There’s one for talking to six NPCs there, also one for just talking to the Sanctum Sprint NPC (don’t even have to start a race).

They can add up quite easily if you want.

They don’t ban the IPs -for hte most part IP banning doesn’t help too much anymore.

Reset time is 0:00 UTC. Currently that equals 5PM Pacific Daylight Time. Other than WvW, this reset applies to both NA and EU servers.

It’s not in the game, yes, but it is tied directly to the game.

Magic Find affects loot when :

The mob dies

The loot is from looting the corpse (F to “search”)

So you gain no benefit swapping to MF gear before looting, and MF gear does not affect the world chests and such.

Do you mean Mark of the Tethyos Houses?

If so, the issue is that amulet has an offensive infusion slot, not a utility slot.
