Note I’m not saying if you want a new display name to ask for a refund – that’s an abuse of the system. But Arena Net stands by Guild Wars 2 and wants their players to be happy.

One, if you check the Reddit, apparently Greenmangames.com has a sale on GW2 when using a code (posted on the GW2 subreddit).

Two, if you buy via the official site (and it’s no longer $60, it’s $50, little better ) you can get a refund (although that does permanently close the account, so if he does want his money back, ask him to delete all his characters so the names aren’t tied up >.>)

To me it sounds like the OP doesn’t like the fact that it will eventually recognize the an IP as “authenticated” as long as only the block of the IP is different.

Especially if they were sent before Tuesday’s patch and you tried to get them after the patch.

If you bought your game directly from ArenaNet as a download, try searching your email for the phrase “Serial Code”

If he doesn’t get help within the three days, 1 person can post in the thread Astral mentioned on his behalf with the ticket number, since he wouldn’t be able to himself.

Serial codes are what you would traditionally call CD keys – if you bought a physcial copy that’s what you need. You can verify ownership in other ways, just the code is the easiest (I use a password app that has backups – 1Password specifically, although there are others – to track my serial codes as well as passwords.)

If you bought directly from Anet as a download, try searching your email for “Serial Code”

Chrome – Menu Button →Settings→Show Advanced Settings→Managed Saved Passwords

Firefox – It’s i the privacy settings – as I recall, it will show a list of sites/usernames initially, then you can have it reveal all passwords saved.

Internet Explorer – Not sure anymore, in 9/10. Seems like you might need to go 3rd party software to get passwords out.

If you are having issues with the client, try the tech help forum.

If you simply can’t recall you password, check your browser’s security settings for remembered passwords and set it to show them for you.

Also, you can (well, should be able to) re-open original “I’ve been hacked!” ticket and mention the world move there.

As a rule, Arena Net does not initiate contact with you, ever. If there is an issue with your account, Arena Net tends to lock first (to limit any damage) and wait for you to contact them.

What chests show when you view your achievement’s panel?

I’d recommend (if you can) you re-open your original ticket (this is part of the issue of you being hacked, after all) and close the new one.

As far as I know, they don’t have phone support (except, possibly, for billing) – they prefer the ticket/email/forum system.

Their facebook site IS one of their sites.

They don’t post that often on Reddit, usually that’s just fans linking to news sites if there’s any info linked there.

As for the other sites, they either post what is talked about in a day or two, or generally link to it right away if it’s an exclusive interview or some such. They do that kind of thing to increase exposure.

TECHNICALLY, all you ever buy is the serial/account key :p The program is available for free download.

Note, if you share a computer, have a smartphone, and worry about your brother messing with your stuff I’d enable mobile auth (via the Google auth app, instructions at https://account.guildwars2.com/account/security when you are logged in) to make sure he stays out.

You can buy from Guildwars2.com for $50, but currently Amazon seems to have it for $40 and Gamestop has a digital download version for $35. Basic game.

You can use multiple accounts off the same install if you share a computer (if that was your main concern).

And considering this is the anniversary right after the Charr treaty was ratified, that’d also count as a special anniversary.

One, you only unlock it on the characters who actually ran the story mode dungeon.

Two, are you high enough level? The Explore modes are higher level than the story modes.

Question – was the closure date 3 days since the last communication on the ticket? (Either from you to them, or them to you?) I think there is a relatively simple solution to the safety concerns. Introduce an item that can be purchased from in game merchants that costs 10g to buy from the merchant and also sells 10g to the merchant. In addition this must not be storable in the wallet but stackable in your bank tabs. Can come in denominations of 1g, 10g, 100, 1000g. You now have a way to store gold in the form of an item. I am assuming that given this is an item, the technical implementation should be simple.

Reminds me of a similar “10 million big note” that you could obtain in another MMO. But there it was used as a way to store currency beyond the limit of coins one could carry.

Now I’m reminded I had to save the Runaway Five rather than buy my first house!

Did he ever have one in the first place? It’s something you have to create (the ticket AND a support account) – Support accounts are not automatically created with the game.

Also, he should have an email if he submitted the ticket – it will have the ticket number on it, and can be used to reply/update the ticket.

You’d want to submit a ticket to support (link at the top of the page) but the magic 8 ball says “outlook not so good” – they rarely revert player mistakes.

The record of the suspension will not be removed from your account. They keep those things tracked because as people earn more infractions for this or that, the suspensions get longer and longer. I believe the next one is 7 days long.

While it’s pretty much a permanent record, if I’m not mistaken they do kind of “expire” after a time if there is no more infractions made.

If you do want to try to get back in sooner, you’d have to submit a ticket to support. No promises anything would come of it, but whenever your account becomes locked, for any reason, that’s step 1 to get back in if it waiting it out isn’t an option.

And it can be easy to make a mistake, since transmuted items show with the wrong skin in vendors, and deleting a character won’t warn you if the character had any lifetime missable items when you delete it. And lots of other stuff may happen. It doesn’t matter how you may lose it. It may happen.

Afterwards, she takes the credit for doing so, then adorns an Aetherblade garment. Call me crazy, but I think she could have struck up a deal with the Aetherblades when we weren’t looking.

Airships – especially the one that, after it was captured, was given to Kiel – tend to be steam-punk. The idea behind most steam-punk outfits is that at least some part of it is function/utility.

Therefore, after taking over the ship, it makes sense she’d use some of the uniforms there because it would help with ship.

And to be fair, how helpful she was, or wasn’t, is mostly a meta thing, as the devs didn’t want her to carry you.

I’m saying that if you’re mad that the loot tables were nerfed because of exploits, its not simply because exploiters were farming the hell out of it. I said it before and I’ll say it again, our server/guild/farmers never verbally abuse people wanting to complete the event as fast as possible. We politely ask them to join us in farming and if they choose not to we let it go. Some power hungry Charr teamed up with some underground mole people (seriously? mole people?!?! O.o) in order to wreck Kryta for some reason. A walking Cabbage (Canach- who is ‘Canach’ anyway? And why should I care?) went to some random resort island (seriously?!?! a resort island?!?! what happened to fantasy?) and got some crabs angry for some reason. Pirates showed up and killed someone for some reason. Then some random merchants came on a flying boat and sold us stuff for some reason.

While the Flame Legion is the more sorcerer y-inclined group of Charr, there are plent of Charr with a mechanical bent in it – combining forces with the Dredge makes sense. The Dredge were formally slaves of the Dwarves, and they have “inherited” the Dwarves’ technology.

As for Southsun – the concept of a resort isn’t new to fantasy – even non-Xanth/Discworld/etc type fantasy.

Also, this is a technical issue, not an account issue – wrong forum (Technical issues forum is right below Account Issues).

Don’t forget – if you mainly want to play PvE together, than you can guest on their server (if, as mentioned above, it’s in the same region – NA or EU regions) and you could then take time to earn the gold and turn the gold to gems for a transfer, if you want.

As a receipt-type email, I kept mine on my account. Further, if you have a smartphone, going forward you can use a password manager type program to keep track of account keys/license numbers/serial codes.

Anyway, as mentioned by both myself and Gaile – it’s not the sole thing they accept as proof. Good luck!.

If you pre-ordered the game, search for an email from ArenaNet <noreply@guildwars2.com> with the subject line “Thank you for pre-purchasing Guild Wars 2!”

You don’t need the serial code (that’s what they call it in the purchase email) to submit the ticket – it helps, but it’s not needed. Just submit one and go from there,

If you feel there was mitigating standards, go ahead and try and appeal via the support site.

But Anet generally goes with “two wrongs don’t make a right” and the TOS quite clearly says not to use foul/abusive language. If someone is doing something objectionable – REPORT IT. If you can’t see the player’s name, I’d just use the in-game report function for something like Verbal Abuse, then file a detailed report via the support website – and mentioned that you filed a report in-game but are posting details in the ticket to explain why.

And I don’t know of any game with a language policy that considers “But you have a profanity filter!” a defense when you are reported.

And if you want, Gaile has at least described the language here on the forums if asked to by the suspended person. I think she was the one who even did the reddit postings shortly after launch where she gave exact quotes even
