This is a matter best served by posting over in the Tech Support sub-forum. It’s not really an Account Issue.
If your needs are not met there, you can always submit a Tech Support ticket. Top of Page – Support – Submit a Request.
Good luck.
I’d recommend a ticket – include the character’s name.
This is something they need to mess with on the back end.

I just want them to make it so you can buy 75 sun beads at a time >.>
It would also be nice if u got 3 things from each plant everyday. Today I got 3 vanilla beans, 1 yam and 1 zucchini. that does seem a bit harsh when u get at least 3 ores from each node and 3 logs form each tree and yet the price is the same for all the gathering nodes.
The nodes are identical to their “wild” cousins – always random.
Michael, one of the things that I’d like to see addressed that I think would really help with people joining and kicking is improvements to the “Block” list in game.
If I have someone blocked, then why can they:
1. Join my LFG party
2. See my character location & name via their friends/blocked list
3. See my guild/say/party chatI think that improvements to the Block list is something that would be immensely useful to help prevent griefing.
They at very least need to fix #2. That opens people up to griefing if the blocked person was actively harassing.
I think the current block system is just a chat filter on the client side, however. That’s why it’s somewhat anemic.
Please understand that you are allowed to trade outside of the BLTP – but you will not receive replacements for lost items or gold. The same goes for selling dungeon runs. CS will not suspend or terminate you for selling runs. We will, however, take action if you take payment and not fulfill your end of the bargain.
Hello Michael, thanks for starting this thread.
If we are allowed to trade items outside of the BLTP, effectively bypassing Evon’s tax, why do we still (after two years) not have a way to securely trade items, as seen in most other MMOs, a popup window where you can see and double check any items up for trade (including gold). The trade only actually happens once both players confirmed and accepted. There should also be an option to deny incoming trade invites right away, to prevent being harassed.
They want you to trade in the BLTP. That’s what it is there for – to provide a secure way to trade with people you don’t know.
That we have the ability to trade outside the BLTP is just so we have a way to gift people we know/are teamed with (giving potions to people for dungeon runs – such as outlaw slaying potions for CM – is an example). The fact that it can allow sales that get around the BLTP is just a side effect.
To clarify, if you have the item that grants an account upgrade and have not consumed it, you may be eligible for a refund.
If the item has already been consumed to grant the benefit or if the upgrade did not have a consumable item in the first place, then it is not eligible for a refund.
Just to make sure, you know that several upgrades – bank slots and (i believe) character slots among them – can be bought either as directly applied upgrades (bank window and character select window for example, respectively) OR bought as items that you must use?
Congrats to both Gaile and Michael

1. “You may not program a single key to perform multiple functions” – The inputs performed by the macro are not performing multiple (different) functions, they are performing the same function over and over again.
I know it’s moot now that a dev has chimed in, but notice the EULA/TOS doesn’t say “Multiple different actions” – merely “multiple actions” – they don’t distinguish between repetitive different and same actions.

Thanks for the inputs.
Bit disappointing i’ll have to click every single karma item but i get it. It opens the doors for other things. I’ll just do it while i’m at school using a school mouse.
Karma is rather a meh thing to me atm. No real use for it. That’s why I’ve just been stacking it. So it really doesn’t give me anything in the end (even though I did earn the karma).
Got a scroll wheel on that mouse? Bind wheel up to mouse click.
Scroll.
You would be best served by going back to BEST BUY and throwing the appropriate level of “tantrum” to obtain a new code. Retail outlets are notorious for “allowing” employees to steal codes like this and it will only be stopped if consumers complain about being taken advantage of (and the employees and or complicit managers are fired).
Keep in mind that Anet has every right to NOT help you (tho they certainly might) as retail theft of a code is the retail store’s responsibility.
Please note that throwing an actual tantrum rarely helps. Be polite but firm and it will go a long way.
Any word on making it so we can relist at a lower price without reposting (and thus paying the fees again)?
How hard, (in five days) would it be to add a very simple math function? Sure would put the icing on this sweet update.
That would assume they are still modifying the patch that goes live in five days.
Generally, unless it’s a huge bug they don’t mod patches that close to rollout.
That’s how Bad Things Happen™
I could be mistaken, due to how the TP interface is basically a web page, but I don’t know as I don’t work on it.
So if you have not already, contact support.
Either way, good luck and good hunting!
What’s My IP reports the address of the owner of that IP block. Since many ISPs are now cable or telco companies, those addresses tend to point to where all the IPs for that service connects to the Internet infrastructure. For instance I have ATT DSL and “What’s my IP” says I’m located some 30-40 miles away because that’s where all the DSL nodes eventually connect up to the Internet from ATT’s internal network.
so its okay for me? sorry for being ignorant
Sounds like.
You say it’s your IP, and matches your ISP. The “city” of an IP can vary depending on how it connects to the internet, and something less than an hours drive away isn’t uncommon. I believe I’ve seen people here with their IP showing in another state due to how it’s registered.
I’m tired and may have jumped the gun. i’ll review it again with a more awake set of eyes and brain.

My ideal soda fountain would be Mt. Dew, Coke, Romano’s Orange Itallian Soda, Strawberry Fanta, and Barqs. (The orange floats are awesome.)
Gaile, there is no option currently available to report an offensive guild name.
Are you guys working on this? Cuz, I have come across a guild or 2 in my time that seriously needed to be changed.
Is there another avenue that can be pursued to report a guild name/tag?Here is a response from Devs: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/How-to-report-offensive-guild-name/first#post3793127
They really do need to add an ingame support ticket setup, however.
This really makes me wonder how some people function in Real Life with sales and contests. If someone gets something cheaper than you did, do you write angry letters and demand refunds?
Things change all the time. Some people on this forum and in this game really REALLY need to grow up.
An online store recently put a pre-release game on sale.
I saw several complaints, including one that they couldn’t take the coupon code to gamestop and get the 20% off. shakes head
Is there absolutely no number to call for support? All I want to do is update the email address for my account. I am not locked out or currently have the game installed. I do not know within 72hrs when I installed the game in 2012. Is there no support or my options so limited that I can’t simply enter a updated email address under My Account?
I am constantly asked from support to verify information that I do not know. I AM NOT LOCKED OUT OF MY ACCOUNT, I just want to update the email which is effectively dead in 24hrs.
Do you no longer have access to the original email account for your game account? You should have an old “welcome!” email if you do.

Biggest thing I’d suggest is make sure you are using your email for your account name.
The “terrygodking.1463” is your DISPLAY name, not account name.
I see a lot of attacks on the OP that boil down to, “I think this is a silly thing to do,” and that’s a fine perspective to have. But is that a reason to prevent willing parties from transacting business? I can’t imagine anyone who truly believes in the concept of a free market saying yes.
It’s a limitation of the Trading Post, not an intentional prevention of free trade.
Since the trading post was intentionally designed to behave in the way it does, the designer intended it to limit free trade. My question is, why? And further, is that reason a good one?
Because it rewards sellers for selling low, to a point. When sellers sell low like that, and still get more, it also a) helps move items around, b) helps be a gold sink still, sinking off the 95c vs 10c value.
Previous infractions, while permanently logged, are only counted for punishment if recent and frequent. Like how some stats have points for driving, and get to many you lose the right to drive.
I think I saw a dev response saying that they consider map/say to be like, in public at a family restaurant, and in guild and party chat (assuming the language isn’t harassment or threatening) it’s more like a friendly barbecue. If you drop the f bomb constantly in a restaurant, you can get kicked out, but if you’re just hanging out with friends at a barbecue, it can be common place. In guild chat or party chat it isn’t really public.
Basically someone has to report it. And bad language at a person (such as “you are a kitten messup!”) is considered worse than non-targetedlanguage (this is a kitten messup!").
People in your guild – and have the same general values you do – are less likely to report you. There are more people in map, and more different people, so you are more likely to be reported (and thus acted against).
2 days and noone reply
. Good job , Anet Support Team .
You should have recieved an automatic reply (the only automated reply you would get) shortly after submitting your ticket. If you didn’t, check your spam folders. If you still can’t, read this :
EDIT: And it does say it can take up to 72 hours. If it takes longer than that, and you have a ticket number, post in the sticky thread for such tickets.
Anet tx for the reply on my ticket, that was amazingly fast!
However it is still a shame that you cannot help me with this.
I know these things can also be abused, but those items in the screenshots were collected from the start of GW2 untill 6 days ago when they disappeared!I am really really disappointed that after all good things you did in GW2, you can’t help on this one.
The only chance you have to get the stuff back, in whole or part, is for your friend to reclaim his account.
Guess I can delete this now.
In the future, please don’t. You never know if someone else will have the same issue, and it could have saved them time.
Also, make sure you submit your ticket through http://en.support.guildwars2.com/
There are no in-game tickets. All you get in the support tab says “there is unlikely to be a reply” – I think those are only for bug reports.
Correct : The in-game “tickets” are bug tickets. Unless a DEVELOPER wants more info, you will not get any contact back, and developers do not handle individual CS cases. You need to hit the support site (Also linked to at the top of every website/forum page for GW2, at the top of that page is “Submit a Request”.
I agree so much with this! Leveling has been made pointlessly grindy. I just texted my boyfriend saying that “if you want to level do it before April 15th” and he just responded with being put off from the game now. And well so am I. Yes I have a lot of level 80s. Yes, I like reseting traits on the fly. However the damage done to the leveling experience is so huge that I don’t really feel like playing anymore. This game does not need grinding. At all.
We don’t know how this, combined with what else they are doing, will affect leveling. So going right out and saying they are damaging the leveling experience is premature.
General Note about ArenaNet emails :
The only time they will initiate contact with you is over chat violations, and that won’t have any links in it.
Otherwise, it’s a smelly phish.
I’m sorry if my post was misunderstood. What i meant was not that you are gunna FIX this, it’s that THIS is the post that gets acknowledged. There are plenty of legitimate bug reports, like the wvw door issue, but instead of responding to that thread by saying that you at least acknowledge the issue, we see a response about a confused human child. ><
This thread got a response because the dev had no clue where it was.
Devs generally respond to bug threads for two reasons :
They need more info.
To inform people that they will get banned if they exploit. Or something bad such as data corruption might happen. Or both.
Devs generally don’t respond to threads about bugs they already have a good amount of info about unless it offers something new. Can you show me a thread about the WvW doors that gives NEW info? One they don’t already have in a bug report AND needs a little more than what the thread gave?
A bug thread is like a suggestion thread. A dev response (or lack thereof) does not mean anything as far as to whether or not a dev has seen and/or evaluated it.
Make sure you are using the email associated with your game account to log in.
Account name = email address
Password = password you have chosenIf you continue to have difficulties logging in, you can contact CS for assistance. Top of Page – Support – Submit a Request. Good luck.
If your browser is remembering the name/pass for you, you can usually view by going into it’s settings (Chrome and Firefox do this simply, IE needs another program to do so).
ArenaNet’s system detected that and proceeded to terminating that account on first offense without a single warning.
Contact support. I can tell you in the past with NCSoft games, the ONLY instances of charge-reversal account closings being reversed that I know of all involved Paypal.
Credit Card chargebacks are usually related to credit card fraud and are a SERIOUS issues for MMO companies thus the harsh 1-strike rule.
If it’s why what happened you might have luck mentioned confusion of the change of billing from CHARGE.NCSOFT.COM 866-367-9516 TX to DRI*ARENA 866-367-9516 MN
As long as they have not done one for you before/recently and the compromise was from elsewhere (i.e. not a upset SO or sib, etc), they’ll usually be able to do a rollback for you.
Amon- change your password. And add either email or mobile authentication.
Both you two (Amon and Mecklar) might want to start the process (requires support) of changing your email if you think the email’s been hacked.
And make sure your computers are clean – on the plus side, you’ll most likely qualify for account restoration. But that WILL wipe all progress you make now. So other than trying to get back into it, there isn’t much a reason to play now progression-wise
100g is an “odd” number to lose. Did you pick up a commander tag somewhere?
If you bought you account directly from ArenaNet’s website, and it was less than six months ago, you could ask for a refund.
That will close your account if granted.
So yeah i got this email from “Arenanet”
Guild Wars 2 Account Will Be Shut Down InformWe are sorry to inform you that your login account tobias_canzani@hotmail.com will be shut down or partially limited within 72 hours due to currency transactions or abnormal login. If you want to remove restrictions, please click the following link to validate:
I clicked the link and took me tho the page wich looks exactly like the gw2 one, but i got my suspicions when it asked EVERYTHING, all my characters and names, serial number, order number, date in which i bought the game and finally my EMAIL PASWORD?
after that i came here to submit a ticket saying that my account may have been compromised because i got that email and never did any currency transactions or shuch. and in the forums i saw a guy that also said he commited a phishing mistake and that he did the same as i did and he put everything that was asked. my question is. Was this fishing? and if it was what do i do?
Sorry for bad english
If you didn’t enter anything, you should be fine. Otherwise, contact support just in case (Top of page, Support – Top of that page, submit a ticket).
General Note : Except for chat violations, Anet will never initiate a support contact with you – you will always start the exchange. And those chat violation emails will have no links.
As for the English : Main thing to help with the read-ability of the post would be to remember to do a double return between any copy/paste and the other text
So it forces a line break like this
and doesn’t give a line of text.
Where do I submit requests for changing emails?
Top of the page under the support button.
If you have already contacted them about the phishing, use the same ticket (reply to one of the emails support sent you) to request the new email.
And what do you mean “a scan”? If you bought a digital copy you should have an email with the code.
General note about emails from ArenaNet/GW2 : THe ONLY time they contact you without you contacting them first will be in case of chat violations. The email will have NO links to click. If they contact you first for any other reason it or with an email with links it’s a phish.
Anyway, good hunting!
Try though, if you can, to get access back to the key to note it down somewhere safe. While it’s rarely needed by support (if two people claim ownership of an account, it can be the tiebreaker, for example), there are several times when if you have it support can move quicker.
I submitted my ticket 7 days ago and was confirmed that i had the issue, however im not receiving m gifts and i am getting this instead: "Hello,
The issue you’re reporting will require a bit of additional investigation.
I am escalating your ticket for further assistance. A member of the team will be in contact with you as soon as the issue has been fully reviewed."
Its been reviewed twice now for the past 7 days.. i just want my gifts :[
If you are indeed suffering from the bug, you will have to wait for the bug fix to go through, I’m guessing. They may try to add it into Tuesday’s patch, or a hotfix shortly thereafter if they are able to by then.
So when I first purchased Guild wars 1 I registered under an email adress that I would later change. Resulting in me becomming rather inactive on that old Email adress.
Now today, I find myself going back onto that old email adress..and I notice 4 mails from Arenanet, all saying that appearently due to suspicious activity, I could permanently lose my account. The earliest mail being from 20/02/2014, the last mail being from today saying my account will become banned within 72hours unless if I can confirm my account with a link to the GW2 site.
Now I’m wondering if this is a phishing attempt or if I’m going to be accountless in 72hours.
Biggest red flag it’s a fishing attempt – if it contains links.
Second Red flag – other than explaining a chat violation suspension, ArenaNet does not contact you first.
e-Mail from "ArenaNet?" Please read! [merged]

Also, always remember that ArenaNet will not warn you about an account action. They will simply ban/suspend your account and wait for you to reach out to them to reverse it.
Actually, they’ve started sending out emails when it’s a chat violation, apparently. However, according to Gaile, those emails will ONLY be for chat violations, and NEVER have active links.
Actually the emails do refer to it as a serial code.

Mercury :
From what was said, anything applied to the account as a code would require it match the base version of the game. I do believe one explicit example Gaile gave was an expansion.
We don’t know if ArenaNet is solving the problem.
My guess is the fix will most likely be part of a patch.
Regardless, this is a big issue. They’re not going to let it sit around. If you’ve submitted a ticket, just keep an eye on this thread and wait for further news.
If the account recovery page (which should also disable auth when I last checked – it might require you to also reset your password as part of it, not sure) isn’t working for you, then you have to wait for support.
next time if the system is giving you issues you can send in an email to support@guildwars2.com
Can you log into your GW2 account?
Did the refund go thru on your card or is the only indication that a “refund was requested” came from the email you got? (Could the email be fake….did it have links in it asking you to click on to verify anything, ect.?)
The refund never came at all. I only received an e-mail and no, the “refund was requested” was a legitimate e-mail from what I can tell. Regardless, clicking the e-mail shouldn’t impact the reason why I’m unable to log-in since I only saw it after I had created a ticket about not being able to log in.
Did an actual refund get put back onto your credit/debit/paypal card? Or only the charge? Maybe CS accidentally sent the email to the wrong account. I’m sure it will all be cleared up soon. Welcome to Tyria!
I don’t think CS accidentally sent the email. Wouldn’t make sense why I’m unable to log-in. My assumption is that I was accidentally refunded when someone else asked for a refund.
Hello,
Thank you for your patience while we reviewed your account.
At this time, your issue is currently being investigated. It may take up to 48 hours for this investigation, but we will contact you as soon as there is more information to provide.
I received that from GM Bunni3 around 3 hours ago so I guess we’ll find out in 2 days. I just hope that if they need to restore my account it doesn’t count as my one free restore. I’m hoping for compensation of some sort if this was an error on ArenaNet side but I doubt that will be happening
.
Unless you somehow got hacked and that’s what started this, the refund (if it’s the source of your lockdown) should merely of locked the account in place. No need to restore.
Again, tickets are never just closed unless they get a final answer. And you said twice now that you never got an answer from them…
All you got were automated responses, so you should have updated your ticket. But you should post your ticket number in the sticky for review.
I’m not saying your at fault but it looks like they overlooked your ticket.
It wasn’t closed though!
At the very least, other NCSoft games had this happening as long as they had given an initial Human response – not sure what their current system does.
My guardian has both the Ankh pauldrons and helm.
Depending on the service, he might still have the serial email.
The email would be from noreply@guildwars2.com (mine was, at least) if you bought it directly from ArenaNet – and it calls it a “serial code”. If he knows which character is oldest, I believe /age will give him day count.
Don’t forget that many email providers now make “archive” the default, not delete.
Also, if you cannot submit a ticket with the form, you can submit one via email to support@arenanet.com
