Telling us that Scarlet’s Lair “will be sticking around” but not telling us that the chests inside will be no longer available…really Danicia.

I don’t understand why you would save these…

because moving from one end of the map to the other and then vice versa repetitively is a colossal waste of time.

Dancia is not a developer. Much less the one who removed the chests. For all you know, she asked a developer who knew the map was sticking around but was unaware the chests were going to be removed.

And unless it’s changed recently, the Kessex Hills chest is a bad example, you can still easily get more keys for it and it’s still there for certain as of a couple weeks ago.

Don’t know about DemiGod’s issue, but in the past your issue Lydia was often fixed by setting the patcher to French, then after it’s done restoring it to Enlish.

That might work for you too, DemiGod, but I’m not sure.

Same here. I am on TS in Ontario. Anet fix your kitten game!!!! 3 players on the same connection 150/10. No issues with ANYOTHER internet based service…

So all the people having issues with connecting are using one of a few ISPs and people using other ISPs are fine… so it’s obviously Anet’s fault, not the ISP?

If they items are showing “Character Bound” instead of “Account Bound” then you can do this :

Get a piece of white equipment for each skin and transmute onto it. It might still say character bound, but wince whites are at most account bound it should be able to be removed from the bank by any character on your account.

Just to add, a corrupt DAT file CAN cause a single character to not be able to load (and that IS on your computer). It’s not really an issue with your system, but the data on your system. The corrupted data may be related to a piece of equipment, location or quest status that particular character has active (different from your other characters….that’s why they still load).

Just pointing out that it IS technically possible that the problem IS on your end even tho your thought process does not make it logically possible.

But you’d hope part of the support process would check for this – either by delete and re-download/replace, or forced verify/repair.

The Dishonorable system is automated. It’s a three strikes and you are temporarily out setup (note Anet differentiates between “Ban” (which is permanent) and “Suspension”.) It’s three strikes because they recognize things like this happen. If it was your third instance, you can try asking Anet support to lift it (not sure if they can) but it lasts at most 72 hours, as I recall. You will just have to wait the first debuff out.

As for AFKers, report them. Anet does not spend all their time searching for AFKers and such – can’t recall if there is an AFK option in the menu for SPVP but if not I’d report them for either harassment/greifing or botting.

Thanks to all these bumps its nearly 100% on the front page, im sure the devs notice, they just ignore it, thinking its taken care of. At least thats what I think, and untill I see another red response I’ve got every reason to assume im correct

So either Devs waste development time continually posting “Still Broken” posts to the forums, interfering with time that might fix the issues complained about, or they talk once and wait until something new comes up to post again which means they take more time to work on the game. Which would you prefer?

The one exception to support choosing (usually via anagram) the new name is if you accidentally named yourself your real life name, but that seems unlikely here.

Hey,

Pretty alarming email saying my account might be shut down or limited unless I click this link in my email.

Any idea how I can go about this? Maybe speak to support, I don’t really want to click the link, with phishing and all.

Long story short : The only contact support will initiate uses an email with no links at all in it, and deals only with chat violations. Otherwise, if it has links and you never contacted support, delete it.

Queue is broken

The queue is not broken. It shows approximate positions, and at times like the reset it won’t be as accurate as the number of people logging in simultaneously can cause it to update incorrectly. Once you move through the queue, the positions tend to be corrected.

The queue itself is not broken, the display is an approximation. The queue is completely FIFO and while the display can be misleading on occasion, the underlying system is functioning exactly as you would expect.

I guess what people are trying to say is that whether its the queue itself or the display of the number of your position, SOMETHING isnt working right. Call it updating incorrectly or misleading if you want but the simple fact is that its not correct. When your position in queue number goes UP after spending some time in queue, or some stay the same while others move after a group queuing at the same time, I would say that something was wrong in there somewhere. That’s all we’re saying. I would assume that people are quicker to blame the actual queue because of the well documented past history of queue issues. Anyways, Cheers and thanks for the responses.

I think the developers are just trying to differentiate between the queue itself and the queue display system. Thus why they are saying the queue isn’t busted – because it itself isn’t. Just like when my washer told me 20 minutes ago I had 15 minutes left, I know it’s not because the washer is busted that it’s still going, just that the estimate is off.

I agree they should add a line to the queue display along the lines “this is an estimate of your position.”

and GG, you got my money, sold me the promise of one thing, eventually gave me something that doesnt even compare, and you are probably legally firewalled somewhere in the middle of the EULA against giving proper refunds for bait and switch schemes via the gem store.

If it was a bait-and-switch scheme, they’d had the new flamekissed ready to go when they first released all three armor sets.

And the catch to “proper refunds” is this : when you buy gems, you agree there is no refund for them (barring billing errors).

Buying the flamekissed was a separate purchase – one done not with cash but gems. And you are getting a full gem refund if you ask for it now.

Well, now you know how people that bought the old digital deluxe upgrade felt when they added heroic edition items to new purchases of the digital deluxe upgrade.

Except i received the heroic stuff upon that update, myself being a digital deluxe pre-purchaser. A chest with shiny set of profane armour along with some boosters and bags arrived to me via in-game mail.

Really? I was a digital deluxe pre-purchaser also and did not get this mail. Did everyone get this.. because I guess I should open a ticket.

I never saw such a chest.

Nor did I expect one. While I could see that someone who had just purchased the game being upset once this was added, I had had the game for a while. I’m used to the concept of adding value to the game to encourage new sales.

City of Heroes I bought every box they released because I (for one) found they all added something worthwhile. It also helped that as a sub game, each box included a month.

Do you ban for this type of harassment?

Something like this will take time. They’ll want to see how much he has done, for one thing. They’ll also be investigating you to make sure you’re not equally to blame.

Just make sure your guild knows your global name (the Lannah.1283) – unless that second account was made with your handle, your guild can make sure it’s you by right-clicking any suspicious “you” and choosing report to get a view of the global name, if nothing else will let it be seen easy.

The codes similar on the wiki’s error code page to the one you gave all indicate some kind of connection trouble (the 42:1000:7006 series) either on your end or sometimes on Arena Net’s end. The tech forum is where you will get the most help.

Ironically (and you probably don’t want to hear this) everything in it, including the experience scroll only good on new characters, is accountbound.

However, they are character based (which is why the initial container is soulbound) so when your next oldest character turns 1 years old you will get another.

Sure, I bet we can help you! If you have identical items — that is, the same exact item (not two different items of the same type) — submit a ticket to Support and we’ll get you fixed up.

To be clear, here’s what I wrote about the “same item” requirement: The refund process is intended for duplicates of the same item. For example, if you had two Bone Picks, we could refund one. But with two separate items, the refund offer does not apply because they are different items, even if the function is the same.

But when you released the Molten Pick, you advertised it as the last pick i will ever need, so I bought one. Now you release another one with a more versatile functionality. I think those extra sprockets while mining are nice and we can always argue about different skins.
But why am I forced now to spend another 1000 gems for my extra chance at sprockets and you dont refund the 800 gems for my old pick? Or why cant i just upgrade my old pick to the best functionality in game?

The functionality referred to what kinds of nodes it mined – and it mines the same nodes the watch work pick will mine. It would be nice for the other two picks to get a small bonus (chance at azurite pebbles for Molten!) but this is the kind of thing you risk when you buy something – that sometime will come later that has something you want.

On the plus side, you only paid 800 vs the 1000.

Yeah happened to me in WvW a lot as well. Really kittening annoying when you are in the middle of a zerg vs zerg fight and you cant do a thing except be a rallybot for the enemy.

Only way I’ve found to fix it is to move to a different borderland.

Changing the map will fix it – but it’s sub-optimal when you are doing an event.

I created those pages right after the update being released before the wurm or marionnete being killed. Most of the exclusive items were created from the official release notes page, with the exception of the chests. Already updated the weekly wurm chest page with the unimplemented content template.

About those Marionette chests I though the same thing that Bladorthin said. For example, if you break the 5 chains you will receive a chest in the bottom-right corner of your screen, that chest is called Quintuple Marionette Chest and when you click on it, it will show you its containts, in this case the Hoard of the Marionette Warden V.

In otherwords – double/triple/etc is the name of the dancing chest vs Horde of the Warden being the actual item?

Saying that it’s a bug when the devs don’t consider it a bug won’t make it a bug.

Considering that the original idea behind order gear is that the character is IN the order, you should be happy they haven’t locked it in.

I personally store my serial code in a password app in my phone where the DB is backed up elsewhere. There are various ones out there, free and pay, that work pretty good.

I would discourage everyone from doing so. It is good practise to use the mobile authenticator (even if you are not using it, you should). This means you break the 2 way security if you store the key on your phone.

From a security point of view the best practise is to store the key digitally AND physically. If possible keep the digitally and physically key separated geographically. This last thing can be an issue for many, as said, there are ways around if the OP’s friend looses the key, so it is just best practise.

Considering that the password app itself has a very strong password, I’m not too worried.

You could try contacting a GM – that’s done by clicking “Support” at the top of the page. However, I don’t think they’ll be able to help you based on past experience.

I mentioned map clearing because it can be decently quick and directly awards transmute stones.

This is a fake -aka phishing – support email.

Unless you have requested help, there is only ONE instance in which support will email you about a violation : Chat violations. And there will be NO LINKS in that email. Anything else (including selling gold or your account) they will lock your account and wait for you to contact them.

If you view that link, you’ll notice the website isn’t simply www.guildwars.com or support.guildwars2.com – that’s one clue. As I just mentioned, the fact that they were clickable is another clue.

Anet has said that any legit email from them will NOT contain links. If you get an email with a link, and you’re really worried, do NOT click on it. Go to guildwars2.com by typing it into your browser, and then go to the support area. Send in a ticket, and ask if your account is under investigation.

This. No Anet support email that is not in response to you sending in a help request will have a link.
