I wouldn’t trust it.

If that site does work in a legit fashion, they sell you a code you redeem in game. That would be a purchase of gems (the only way to acquire gems and NOT have it count is using the gold EXCHANGE. ‘Cause that’s an exchange, not a purchase).

But that list is the list of recognized retailers.

Your forum login info is your game login info.

If you have it saved to your browser, you can generally check your settings and view the info there (For Chrome it’s Menu-Settings-Advanced Settings-Show managed passwords. Other browsers have a similar feature).

Okay, the chalice of Glory and the Tome of Influence – those both operate (IIRC) on an account-level currency – so if you used them, the won’t replace them (and glory is going away soon, so I’d go tot he PVP area and see what you can buy with it).

But yes, if you accidentally deleted them, support has been able to help people in the past. Link at the top of every forum page.

Going forwad I would recommend your friend start keeping a list of keys and what they go to (I use a password app on my phone, has a section for serial keys for software).

And while they like to have it, like Sandra said, support generally doesn’t need it if you can supply enough other info.

Still not sure why a plant could explode, but eh, the story instance was fun and the cinematic was cool to watch. The NPC dialogues back at the camp are probably the best part though! Bloomanoo+Peneloopee flirting, Kasmeer’s armor “revelation”, and Braham’s flirting with Marjory were all hilariously awesome. Kudos to whoever’s writing their dialogue!

Easy for a plant to explode, especially as in this case it was a pod. It just has to make the right gases internally that got neutralized due to the heat (maybe the plant made a counter-agent or something – after all it’s a designed plant) but otherwise goes BOOM! when exposed to oxygen.

Progression Lost :

My biggest gripe, refreshed by the talk of the fractal reset, is that when SAB came back, several of us lost our bauble-purchased upgrades. Some lost most, I personally lost all (even the wallet, all I had was the stick, candle, and 4th heart).

We never got feedback on this other than a dev posting “Are you sure you’re on the right character?” – when things like this happen, especially for living story content, more feedback is needed. The lack of any real response other than T1 Helpdesk killed the SAB for me this time around. Which meant that any sense of progression it could have given me didn’t exist. It became an immediate chore to try to regain lost footing.

I can understand that sometimes things happen that can’t be reversed, but this stunk of never looked at. I guess I’m trying to say that progression lost due to a bug that’s never acknowledge just makes me feel that I can’t progress. Some of us have real bad luck with RNG (it took me a long time to get my jade weapons, for example) – so to have progress that we can mark, not due to RNG, taken away just hurts.

For future reference :

For games, or any software really, save the key. I personally have an app on my phone that stores sensitive info – 1Password – and it has a category even for software keys.

Some people just have a text file saved somewhere secure.

Most business give that key a huge amount of weight in recovery – especially game companies. I know it won’t help you now, but in the future it might.

And as said :

In Chrome – go to Menu – > Settings. At the bottom, hit “Show Advanced Settings” – and look for another text link style button for “Manage Passwords”. Find the one you want and hit “Show”.

And in case you ever get locked out, try to collect as much info about when your account started as you can, that will help if you ever need to hit up support for a manual recovery.

I’d say allow /say, /map, and /guild (for those in a guild prior to creating the character, disallow guild invites in the starting/tutorial areas) in the tutorial areas. ?guild especially can have a legit reason for being used.

The jump straight to a five minute wait for flood control (based on what I’ve seen) seems a little harsh, I agree.

I prefer the rules be written to allow the folks enforcing the rules to use their best judgement, because there will never be a rule that covers every possible permutation of every situation. That can work in our favor in situations where we might have broken the letter of the law, but not the spirit of it, and likewise the folks won’t be able to get around the spirit of the law by adhering to the letter of it.

Yeah, as long as the “feel” for the grey area is kept the same by the moderating team (and to me it feels like it has, over all) grey areas benefit the forum goers more than it harms.

This situation is unique in GW2 (so far; hope it remains so).

It took something that was supposed to be exclusive (cultural armor) and made it (even if slightly changed) to everyone.

Think of it this way – if they made few changes to the skin of Sunrise, or Twilight, then released it as a Gem skin in a form that was obvious in it’s origins with most of the effects, wouldn’t you expect those who have the actual legendary to be upset?

It’s not just a game. It’s business; they made a skin so people would definitely like and buy it, and in me case they succeeded. And now I’m the losing side.

You’re right it’s business.

The problem is, there was always going to be a losing side once this came out. If it wasn’t those who liked the “original” flamekissed, then those who were upset that the Human T3 Light Cultural wasn’t unique anymore. And came off as the lessor.

It’d be like them taking the skin from Bolt, a legendary, adding a body-effect of crackling electricity to it, and offering that on the gem store.

Anyone who had made bolt would of been quite upset.

One well know trick (that should work for you) to get a soulbound skin to another character is to transmute the desired look onto a white item’s stats. White items are not soulbound.

The capacitor shows that it has 2 infusion slots, but when I go to add a second infusion I do not get the option to fill the second slot like I do with 2 handed ascended weapons. Instead when I try to fill the second slot a message asks me if I want to replace the infusion on the first slot. So I am stuck with 5 less agony resistance than I had before I upgraded.

Don’t quite know the process but you can apparently combine/refine the agony resists to create an agony resist infusion greater than +5 (If I recall the patch notes correctly).

Wait, here’s the wiki article. Takes an artificer but only 100 skill req.

As far as the serial number goes – 1 – it helps but it’s not necessary if you can provide enough other info to support (although it is the easiest route).

2 – on most smartphone platforms there are password management apps. Most have a section (that I’ve seen) for software licenses – I keep my serials not on steam there. (I use 1Password for iPhone, got it on sale a while back, it’s been great, slowly eyeing the desktop version)

Also – you can usually view your stored info in your browser (I’m guessing when you login to the website, it’s auto-filled for you?). Varies somewhat based on browser for specifics, but usually under settings→Privacy somewhere.

You cannot “purchase” Gems with gold. It’s an exchange. Notice the different term.

So running the Tower got me thinking about this – at first glance it seems like a dungeon or instance: It has walls, a portal entrance and a limited amount of players (we know that since it spawns overflow servers).

Overflow servers are for zones, not dungeons or instances.

Actually, this will probably result in an uptick in their revenue. I was hesitant before to purchase a soulbound gathering tool, but now that it is account bound and can be moved from toon to toon I plan to get one. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Heck, I’d by one of each of the bone pick and jack in the box if they were still 800 each.

To be fair, I and others considered 800 on the high side of what was “acceptable” – and many others over it – for the soulbound versions.

Especially considering that the Salvage-O-Matic was 800 too.

Why the increase in price, though? As it was, it was on the spendy side for soulbound. And it’s not easy to move about without making sure to stop and start your sessions by a bank, even now. As I see it, it mostly makes it so you are not punished for deciding you don’t like a character.

So… why the increase in price?

One thing you might want is an editor to go through the notes – I noticed in several places where you went back and forth on format (Skill X had recharge lowered to Y from Z vs Skill X had recharge lowered from Z to Y).

I bought Guild Wars 2 and I can not log into my account because when I put login and password to login and place, says that one of the two is wrong. I’m des afternoon trying to log in as the payment was made today. I got the key, signed up and made the new account account data is there.

Anyway, Jow – the same credentials you need to log into the forum are what logs you into the game. (If you check your browser settings under “Saved Passwords” it will probably have it there, if you did save it)

And to make sure : Your “user name” for logging in is your email associated with the account, not the “Jow.5478”. You have been using your email, right?

Perhaps they just mean that the existing ticket system will no longer be available so you won’t be able to log in and check your old tickets yourself.

I would assume that the past ticket information was transferred over to the new system in some format, otherwise it would be like wiping the slate clean for players with past offenses on their record, not to mention the huge loss of past solutions and problems they would be losing out on.

Oh I didn’t doubt that the account-facing information would be saved (i.e. the info tied to an account about any infractions/issues the account has). Just the bit about if you need to save/continue any existing tickets themselves was my issue. The week grace makes me feel better though.

Will the ticket numbering stay the same? (i.e. still have the date built into the ticket number?)

Also, while I’m fine with the change up to the system overall, a system that doesn’t carry old items over during the change up being implemented with less than 12 hours notice feels sloppy.

Something like this should have a longer notice period, even if just 48-72 hours.

ah ok. i am slightly annoyed that i will lose my soulbound leather chestplate and my mighty bronze rifle, which cost a CRAP-TON to make, but hopefully they will sell well at the BLTC. thanks for the help guys!

If you have done a couple of daily’s, there are laurel vendors that sell a 1-time (per account!) crafting starter kit.

Should help you craft back to where you were and beyond.

Can’t find the Charr any where help

It’s called “The Hero’s Canton (Home)” on the map. Door is off the “Mustering Ground”.

Sylvari have the Dreamer’s Terrace – as I recall just hit the bottom level of the grove via WP and you are right by it.

Human’s have the Salma District (With it’s own waypoint).

In Rata Sum, it’s the “Applied Development Lab” – you take one of the Asura gates to get there.

For Norn – enter the great lodge. Right there on you… left? is an instance – “Hunter’s Hearth”.

Note all have the "(Home) tag in their name, and as mentioned – the nodes will appear in all five for all characters, but are account bound – so mining one anywhere mines them all.

So wait if you have the old recipe for the gift of souls I can still use that? Since it’s still showing the old requirements at this point from what I can see (I do have it).

The only items that changed were the materials needed to combine in the mystic forge to discover the recipes for the Gift of Spiders, Souls and Moon.

The materials needed to craft the gifts from the recipe itself and the items needed to craft the resulting weapons has not changed.

Why such an increase in the materials requirements to make the recipe, though?

Oh thank god i have the gift of souls recipe already and the material requirements for it hasnt changed.
I read the description of the “Tyria’s Best Nougat Centers” and got scared when it said “Used in the creation of Gift of Souls”, so i thought i need them to make the gift.

The original recipes are disabled

Nope they arent, my gift of souls recipie (used/learned one) from last year is still ori, ecto, gift and Crystal L and can be crafted.

The new refined mats are required to CREATE the recipe for the gifts.

Gaile, can you clarify a little on this rule? I can’t find anything in the Rules of Conduct (https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-rules-of-conduct/) or at the top of this forum which states raffles are disallowed in-game. I can’t even find language which closely resembles it.

50/50 raffles are a great and fun way for guilds to build up their bank.

Please describe a 50/50 raffle to me. Thanks.

Players would submit gold to the player running the raffle. The winner of the raffle would get 50% of the total gold (in the form of gems) while the organizers would keep the other 50% of the gold
