Check to make sure your local time is accurate. You should get chest if you complete your daily before 5pm pacific.
Is the time displayed on the mini map server (adjusted for local time zone) or local time?
The only problem I have with the scene – specifically the diary reward that lets you replay it – is you can’t skip it. Which gets annoying if you accidentally double click it.
For me, once in the fort, the NPCs died kinda quick.
And Kiel liked to run off, it seemed.
But I stayed back and was about to pick off one/two at a time.
To be fair, part of the reason we don’t have have rewards for achievements now (other than a few for Living Story, and exploration) is because they don’t want infinite-point-value achievements to skew the rewards.
… And the Xbone apparently has an Xbox live achievement for pre-ordering it.
Has there ever really been an MMO wherein the PC can be “bad”? I mean, more than just saying a few mean things or being a jerk to a companion NPC.
The (now defunct) City of Heroes first expansion was City of Villains, where you played a villain/super villain. The second expansion, Going Rogue, was set in an alternate world from the main world and had you decide between Loyalist and Resistance, both of which had good and bad elements. Going Rogue also brought in the Rogue and Vigilante alignments for the main game, and allowed characters to start moving back and forth in alignment.
It was awesome, to say the least. There is something to be said for being the bad guy, or at least someone that’s not a morally upright hero.
Ah, City of Villains.
Setting up a young heroine to believe those she works with are directly responsible for the death of her parents, so she can be “comforted” by a guy who likes to twist people to evil.
Or helping the one guy run an orphanage where he acts nice, but really does everything he can to crush the souls of those he “helps”.
And lets not forget the classic Mad Scientist archetype, represented by people such as Vernon Von Grun or Doc Buzzsaw who gave us the quotes “Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?” and "By the way, if you are planning on charging into this without a small to medium sized group of rogues, I was wondering if you’d thought of what you’d like to have happen to your internal organs once the SuperFreak has ripped them out? I don’t want to be rude, but I could make sure that whatever remains of your body finds one or more new uses through my experiments. Well, think about it, won’t you?

Or, for an even closer analogy, the Scarlet Pimpernel.
Or for another modern name – Batman. Bruce tends to be a playboy in public.

I really hope I don’t just have to let this slide and forget about it. I mean, what’s to say this won’t happen next month? Am I to go the next month grinding achievements wondering whether or not they’re going to reward me or not?
As said, any help I get with this is much appreciated.
Part of the reason they’d ask for when you earned the achievement would be to find out WHAT went wrong, and prevent it from happening again.
Why can’t arena net be like the other companies out there and yet us change our EMAIL ADDRESS. /end rant. Total kittenness.
Because of the fact that the email associated with the account is the log-in name, Anet makes you contact support to change it.
Hey man don’t feel bad, my account got hacked and I was told they wont restore my account because and I quote: "Please understand we cannot provide more items for the gold sellers to steal and sell. If you require assistance with anything else, please let us know. " way to go AN.
Riiiiiiight.
And as for the length of the suspension (they use the term ban to mean permanent closures, not temporary ones) 72 hours is the minimum suspension time. The ToS/EULA is considered your first/only warning.
Yes to your second question – and you can store (non-soulbound) items in your bank and that will transfer with you (as well as gold). Also, I do believe any names you use are automatically reserved for the account that deleted them for 24 hours.
As for your first question, I don’t know. That’d be more something to check the Technical Support forums for, or try asking support @ support.guildwars2.com for help figuring out the answer.
TY. (support.guildwas2.com) did not seem to be an email address, so I tried using an @ after “support”. That worked. TY again.
Doesn’t help that I. Cedo there is often typing the support site URL, which IS support.guildwars2.com.
The terms of use for this game mention, last I looked, nothing about a profanity filter. They simply prohibit the use of abusive language and profanity. THe filter can be turned off because some people don’t trust it, and sometimes it gets false positives (at launch, I recall seeing people talking about running groups through “Kes*** Hills” – similar to how the forums like to messup sometimes, turning “Kessex Hills” to Keskitten Hills").
People don’t get a suspension so much for profanity as they do for abusive language. If you got a suspension then it was because you cussed someone, not something. There is a big difference.
You can get suspended for language, but generally that means you you are using an excessive amount of profanity. The GMs do make allowances for non-abusive slip ups.
Arena Net will never initiate contact with you about an account issue.
At most, there would be some form of announcement on the forum if many people were affected, but they’d lock your account until they hear from you if they were worried.

If you want to try and get help from support with this, contact support via the ticket submission page at support.guildwars2.com under “Ask a Question” – this kind of thing no one can help you with on the forums.
There are/were plans (announced back in January) to add additional rewards to achievements and rewards based on total points. Since recent achievements rewards items, maybe that’s as far as they’re going to take it now.
We’re still working on a system that rewards bonuses and rewards for achieving various thresholds of achievement points on your account. More news on this soon!
can you pls fix how they are awarded first?
Achievement points are awarded by doing Achievements.
Like Daily or Monthly ones. Living story, Slayer, etc.
I had to throw it out because I didn’t have enough slots even though I wanted to keep it pretty badly but these days I am at that point where anything completely unnecessary and cannot stack in my storage is just too much.
It’d be nice if they gave us a collection window for “memoir” type stuff, if they are going to do this.
Also, noticed you can’t cancel out of it if you turn it on by mistake.
The reason why they are recommending you post your ticket number for Gaile to look at is because she has been very helpful not only clearing up WHY something got flagged (at least, what for) but has helped several people resolve issues to their satisfaction.
Money and items in the bank will remain if you delete all your characters.
Note free or paid, there is a 7-day cooldown for world transfers.
If you still have stuff in your Guild Bank, just transfer back to CD and withdraw them all. Then, after 7 days, transfer again to DB and bring all the goodies with you.
Would Guesting work too. Or does he physically have to transfer
As far as I know, guesting won’t allow you to access the Guild Bank account. But, since I’m at work (and hiding from the boss as I type), someone else is going to have to confirm this in game.
It would be worth a try, especially since guesting is free.
Your ideas also would be a welcome addition to the Suggestions Forum, which is read daily by many members of the dev team.
I’m glad that the developers are reading our suggestions, but are the designers? Do the developers have the necessary sway to get our ideas implemented?
“Dev” – as an MMO term – generally anyone who works ON the game. As Gaile says, this includes designers. On this forum, anyone from Anet not a customer service rep/community manager, basically.
That is good feedback, Michael, and I will try to share it with the team. Your ideas also would be a welcome addition to the Suggestions Forum, which is read daily by many members of the dev team.
In the meantime, I can confirm that Latromi’s gems have been refunded.
I would go so far as to see if it’s possible to remove the current item in the gem store, and instead post a link to the bank window and explain how to buy new bank tabs there.
Or maybe just make the button in the gem store work exactly like the button on the bank, and no longer give the item.
“Can’t Connect” errors are technical issues, by the way, not account issues.
Account would be messages about your account being suspended/banned, or bad user name/password.
Talk to the lionguard standing with the hosts.
It gave me the achievement after I talked to two of them (bringing me from 6/8 to 8/8)
The Chantry – so Secret the game forgets you’ve been there, cause it’s a secret.

First of all, one of the last updates changed the way the red circles look and made them more distinct to try and alleviate this issue. They have a very jittery, aggressive edge now. Has he tried it since and is he still having difficulties?
That jagged edge you speak of is the “this effect has a combo field associated with it” edge, I think.
If it doesn’t activate a combo field, pretty sure it’s the same old flat circle.
Think of the children! I say ban all violence, except when it comes to celery, I really hate celery.
Better Celery than being back in the days of the Plague of Deen, when you couldn’t kill 2 bandits/centaurs/other hostiles without having half a dozen sticks of butter.
We cannot help you here, with this kind of thing.
This is what the support.guildwars2.com site is for (“Ask a question”)
2 things -
1 – This isn’t an account issue, it’s a bug issue, fyi.
2 – If revisiting the Chantry of Secrets doesn’t fix it, then you’re needing the new POI in Divinities reach, which IIRC isn’t yet reachable (if it isn’t, they’re working on it, possibly will be patched tomorrow.)
I do think this event would be more popular if, like Digiowl says, there was a way to bypass steampipe OR not have it fill/contest. I’m not sure if I ever survived being in there when either the protect event failed (which seems to fail fairly easy) or when the queen spawned, spawning the camp with tons of Karka. If you don’t have stealth that lasts long enough, the only way to get to the queen reliably is to WP to Owain’s encampment, which is occasionally contested a quite a distance away.
Plus getting one blue and one karka shell from the big chest is total BS. I have a decent chance of pulling 2+ rares from other big chest metas PLUS other stuff to sell/toss in the Forge.
So you don’t like the Karka Queen meta because the RNG doesn’t treat you as nice through it than with other events.
Never mind, this event with it’s account daily chest that always give two rares is the only way a number of us ever seem to get more than 1 rare from an event.
I doubt the intentionally/willingly coded the setup differently – any differences are probably either a) accidental – probably a result of adaptations done elsewhere, or b) due to how they secure it needing to be different on a Mac.
You can try looking online (Amazon, for example) and see if anyplace is selling gem codes from the gem cards (only do this from a place you trust!) some places will sell you a card them simply email the code to you. Amazon does this for several other services that I know of.
Also, unless I’m mistaken, currently the only Dragon Bash achievement that is time-limited is still going on (The fireworks display, viewing the finale while at the Gate Hub, Mystic Fountain, or Grand Plaza (currently has the big dragon holo projector)).
All the rest are during the duration of the event, currently.
Recommendation : I use a password manager on my phone – specifically 1Password but there are several out there, some free – and I have my account serial stored there (several managers let you classify what kind of data – CC, login, or in this case, “Software License”.
The guy I’m thinking of wanted to salvage the item – which you can’t as the item has to be outside the bank to salvage, and soul bound items can’t be removed except on the bound character.
And the only region restrictions are on guesting (due to how it works and the fact that EU and NA severs are in separate data centers) and that when you create an account, you must be using an IP that matches the “zone” of the account key (which doesn’t matter once you can log in)
Tomorrow, have your post in the tickets needing followup 3 days or older thread stickied at the top of the forum.
Hello I got problem, I want to guest america(tarnished coast) but I’m on europe server (gandara). My friends from pvp guild are in europe, but my friends which I want to play dungeons etc. are in america. I wish I was able to play with my friends but changing server cost 1800 diamonds. Is there any option to guest america server or at least move 1 character from account to different server ?
Unfortunately, you can only guest to servers in the same region as your home account. A perusal through the dev posts sub-forum will explain why. Happy adventuring in Tyria, regardless. =)
Long story short – EU and NA have separate data centers. The characters are stored in a database for one data center, or the other. The guesting setup can’t handle switching between centers (not sure how much is difficulty, and how much is data integrity worries)
Also, you could check if you are using the right password. You can log into this forum and it uses the same password as the game does.
So check your browsers internet tools for the password.
For example, in Chrome – open the Menu, Settings, Privacy, Manage passwords.
It’s similar for Firefox and IE, IIRC.
It will show a list of sites, usernames, and **** passwords – highlight and choose “reveal” or something similar (last I used firefox, it revealed all or none. Chrome reveals one at a time).
Main thing – Anet will NEVER initiate a support contact – if they feel your account is at risk they block it and wait for you to contact them.
Tell that to people who got hacked.
Anyway, you have checked to make sure the password (usually under settings→Privacy) your browser is remembering is the same as what you wrote down?
And if support is asking for your serial code (note, for games, especially online ones, save that SOMEWHERE – I use a password app on my phone, currently), just say you don’t have it. There are other bits of info they can ask for to help verify you own the account.
And there is no auto-banning setup – but there is human error. Good Luck!
Except unlike every other time I’ve had a problem, this time I can’t log into that either.
Were you replying to Inculpatus Cedo?
He was suggesting emailing them directly – not logging into the support site (and just to make sure, you know that the support account is separate from the game account, right?) since you had already said you are unable to.
I tried several times to purchase gems just recently and it goes through successfully however no gems arrive on my account.
I also bought a new serial code for my nephew and when I purchase the game nothing happens. Did not receive anything but Thank You. No confirmation email either.
Please make sure your mailbox is empty, first of all. If it’s overly full, the new mails bearing your gems will drop down once the box has space. (Fewer than 10 mails.)
If you need help, please contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page. They will be able to assist you. For tips on what information to provide in a ticket — mostly intended for security reasons to establish that you own the account — please read this post and provide as many suggested details as possible to expedite the ticket.
Gems don’t arrive via in-game Email, not that I’ve ever noticed, Gaile. The balance just updates a few seconds after the final transaction screen goes away, showing the TP window – for me anyway.
Any -Condition Duration on your target cancels out your +Condition Duration point for point.
So if you have +20% and your target has -20%, effective duration adjustment is 0.
Actually I have seen these holograms in both Lornar’s Pass and Frostgorge Sound and Fireheart Rise, so clearly they exists in zones with higher than lvl 33.
All mine so far were in either Lornar’s Pass or Bloodtide Coast.
However price changes like that happen in the real economy based on pure rumors known by a few people. Case in point when the AP twitter was hacked recently the DOW took a nosedive for a few minutes. Given that is an extreme example but things like that happen all the time on day to day stocks.
haven’t heard of this event. how much is a nosedive? I assume a large change > 20% as you called it an extreme example? I wasn’t aware of real world examples where prices changed that drastically of a physical good. with stocks it’s of course a completely different story, but lets ignore it for your arguments sake. how long did this change take and how big of an effect did it have?
and now, the more interesting question: was it GOOD for the stock market? (and if so, why?)
Over 1% of the point “value” of the Dow – or 130+ billion USD
yeah I agree, there have been quite a few traders trying to derail the thread for whatever reason. maybe because they did gain quite a bit thanks to this change and want ANet to keep to this method instead of the slow prices alterations via droprates.
So you are saying that Anet should NEVER introduce a new source of an existing item?
