Maybe it is because anet just see 1 person getting gold from X number of other accounts. And maybe this is a known pattern for gold sellers, hackers, or any other scam that exists.
So yes maybe you did nothing wrong, but the admins don’t have cameras on each computer of the player to see if it is actually the real guy pushing the button.
Thing is, the donating accounts would be banned as well, then.
I have noticed that when people are talking trash in map chat and someone asks them to stop, it usually ends up as an unpleasant argument. Those of us not participating in the argument still have to see it while watching for more useful chat. I would guess that no one said anything to you about it because of the risk of it deteriorating into a nasty argument.
If they being repetitive/incessant in their language, I’ll report.
I always call out to ask them to stop first, however. If they get bad, that’s what ignore is for. Plus sometimes it gets amusing (“I don’t need to follow your made-up rules!” “I didn’t make them up, Anet did. links”) – however, I do try to get them to calm down
El Capitán had a very large part in fixing culling. He often enters the room with Flash Gordon’s theme song playing.
So, the guy who fixed culling enters the room with demands for his body?
At least with them being in race-neutral story-lines we actually get to know them.
And the baby devourer too.
The periscopes did undergo some changes to hopefully make them better for all players. Also to clarify, not all periscopes have a chance to trigger the backup events. Only 3 out of 10 in each map have the events attached to them.
Usually the three you encounter in a given session XD
Is that ANet’s fault? Yes. Did they apologize? Yes. Would you rather them sit back and do nothing?
Thank you ANet, apology accepted.
So, how about if the botters/exploiters apologize? I hope Anet does not accept, because they are scum and I dont want scum playing the same games I do. As I wouldnt accept Anet apologies if they banned me wrongly.
Wow, I pity someone who accidentally runs into you. (note I don’t count DUIIs as an accident.)
I’ve run into a few that treat you as the race for that city even when you’re not, like my human getting congratulated for participating in the great hunt. I guess they just don’t expect you to be talking to them if you’re not that race…
I get the implication is the Norn value a good time above all, and as such have no problem including non-Norn who are capable enough. So your character COULD of participated in a great hunt.
What I’d like to know though, is until when you can buy the Molten Pickaxe.
Untill May 13.
Gee people, you are lazy.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/red-hot-new-items-in-the-gem-store-now/
For a number of us, when we first checked the front page that was not posted. And usually some dev-type makes a post announcing they put it up but so far they have not
Gee some people like to make assumptions :p
If we could get a statement, one way or another, as to wether or not this will ALWAYS work on any mining node it would be great.
haha… as a fellow sequeptidalion I approve of pedantic comments.
Ah, sesquipedalian. Fun word. Even better when you have drinking friends who become more sesquipedalian as their BAL rises.
And apparently not included by default in chrome’s dictionary.
well can you make these Bauble Stacks bigger? and Give us a slot in collectables for them then? because stocking up on all this crap to not even need it for months is a waste of space..
I don’t control that stuff. I’ll look into the collectible slot but I honestly have no idea how likely that is.
While you’re asking, ask them why they haven’t added collectible slots for the various dungeon tokens (they have a “deposit collectible” right click menu entry that’s greyed out). If it’s due to the system only allowing 250 of any collectible item (my theory)…then tell them to get on expanding that pronto for all of these tokens. :P I keep worrying I’m going to accidentally destroy them.
That may or may not be easy.
250 is suspiciously close to 255/256, which is the max value for an 8-bit address.

Yep, completely wrong. A total scam and a lie. They are trying to hard too. Your email will read it as if it really come from noreply@guildwars2.com and unless you look at the message source code you don’t even know it wasn’t sent from noreply@guildwars2.com. But the url was a good giveaway that some one wants you to say its ok to log into my account and steal your stuff.
Another indication that this is false is such an email would come from Support, not the advertisement email.
Haha this guy you’re referring to is dedicated. And the several people you say reported him is nothing compared to the reports I and my buddy have on us fromSoR, and my own server TC for the whole stating in towers a couple months ago.
But the thing is, he really is not doing anything wrong in my eyes, sabotage and spying are legality war tactics. Is wvw no longer a war zone? I think not. Cheers to the dedicated troll.
In “war tactics” you would be allowed to remove the said individual. You cant here.
Clearly the people here who are calling it “fine” have never been trolled like what this guy is doing.
You’d also be able to destroy the offending property.
Chewy : This isn’t war in the real world. It’s in a game, with rules. Rules against the behavior you say is okay.
I have to say, if ANet does ban people for this, I will be very disappointed. It’s not greifing, it;s not an exploit and it’s not cheating.
If Anet intended for people to be able to go in as a player on another team/server and place siege like this as a valid WvW tactic :
1) You wouldn’t have to have another account. There’d be some way to go into “spy” mode.
2) Siege would be destroy-able by all sides, not just opposite sides.
I just chalked this up as a “too bad so sad” instance, but it really is quite annoying when a simple solution is to just send all the loot separate chest.
Simple to decide? Yes. To implement? That’s when it gets tricky.
Yeah, it’s a terrible system.
But, it’s better than it used to be, you used to have the bag drop at the body not at your location.
I can’t even imagine why this hasn’t been fixed/changed yet.
I can’t help but think of the quote, “The technology isn’t there yet”.
But the software engineer in me can’t help but think that if they can read my players location to spawn it at my feet (Player object access?), why don’t they have access to my players’ inventory to place items there.. it’s quite frustrating indeed.
I honestly would prefer if it was like every other reward system in the game, so when I left WvW for the night I got a nice big glorious chest of loot to deal with and vendor the junk.
“Like every other reward system”? I have to loot all those NPC corpses just like in PvP…
:p
The issue here I think is that the “on kill” reward system can’t drop things directly into your inventory – I can’t think of anything that does without you specifically interacting with it, in fact. The main difference between PVP and PVE is they exchanged the “location” drop of the “item” you interact with (it’s invis in PvE, but the sparkly is tied to it so the corpse “glows”, is my guess, or something along those lines) from the corpse to on you.
As I wrote the above I realized the Baubles actually work without you interacting with them (just running over them) but those are new and it already sounds like the SAB uses some new tech/special rules that other devs would like to use but might cause issues in the open world because of how they were implemented.
EDIT : They possibly could make killing someone grant a special boon in PVP instead of loot, which you’d talk to an NPC and have them erased for loot, but that sounds sloppy if it is even do-able and Anet seems to not like sloppy.
I’d like straight to inventory, but I definitely prefer the current model over the PvE one – just think what it’d be like to have to check every body’s death location to get your rewards.
Used to be that way, until shorty after release. They changed it so if your target falls down the cliffs you can still get your loot
It enables the zerg, that’s the point of it. The question you should ask is why the devs want the zerg.
It drastically lowers the skill cap so even noobs could log in and not get decimated. Guarantee you’ll have less players in wvw if new players would log in and get wiped easily even when they’re in a large group because roaming with no gear, lvl and experience with the class is not an attractive option.
But I don’t agree with that rationale though. What they should’ve done is to give subs lvl 80 players some kind of aoe defense buff that gradually gets worse as they lvl towards 80 and finally take those training wheels off when they hit lvl 80. If you haven’t learned to roll out of the red circle when you get to lvl 80, you deserve to die.
After all, everyone always has the endurance to dodge, especially when facing a lot of AoEs
Caps are a balance thing (as well as mentioned, probably a performance thing). If they removed the cap, they’d probably either a) nerf the damage of AoEs hard, or b) put a cap on the total damage an AoE can do (so it’d be total damage allowed divided by number of targets hit)
Now, I’ll agree it’d be nice for some AoEs to have higher target caps, but I’m also (among other Archtypes) a former City of Heroes Blaster Player. 25 cap nukes for the win
Just give a generation credit when credit is due and stop trying to act like the current generation is the only thing to spawn pop culture because it’s not! The groundwork for much of gaming today or just pop culture in general was laid a long time ago. We are reaping the benefits of that work today.
rofl I’m myself 37. You act like you personally invented those games lol. What I talk about is inspiration not copying one thing from another. If you look at the clothes stores nowadays you will find tons of 80ies inspired clothes. There are trends and other games like minecraft provide a way for styles to be appreciated by an audience. I never denied that old 8 bit games were a source. You must be really afraid that some credit of your oh so awesome childhood playing experience is taken away.
Inspiration is a mixture of loads of things.
It’s just anger at things like the above-mentioned “Bram Stoker copied Stephenie Meyer” despite the fact he died over half a centurary before she was born. (Well, that and his vampires didn’t sparkle as I recall).
The SAB is full of 8/16 bit game references – it’s just sad when people’s first thought is “Minecraft”.

It’s like the time I saw somebody bashing the Lord of the Rings movies for stealing ideas from World of Warcraft…
/facepalm
I believe in situations like this you have the right to beat the offender with The Hobbit, Fellowship, Two Towers and Return of The King
Repeatedly
Hardback or Paperback versions?
I’d just make them read The Silmarillion – so dry I couldn’t even finish it
And that was? (In case someone else gets the same bug/issue)?
Wouldn’t that actually split up the community even more?
Or at least let us hit “B” to speed up the text >.>
I second the Infantile mode question – ran it for baubles that way figuring I’d get two birds with one stone.
Where do I buy bombs, I have checked a bunch of shops and they don’t sell them, do I need a certain amount of Baubles to unlock them?
One of the shops later on will sell them for 200 baubles, if I recall the price correctly.
Eh? One of my characters reached 250 and it just started a new stack…
The limit refers to being IN the SAB game.
That clause also covers them charging for an expansion later on if they go that route.
So bank upgrades will transfer even without characters along with gems that are still on the account?
If it ok that I leave some feedback here, I really do disagree with the addition of paid server transfers. There are plenty of MMO’s that do not charge them when compared to MMO’s that do. No argument necessary, just some feedback for the Anet crew.
Some of the games I’ve seen info for on micro transactions would charge a fee similar to Anet’s… for a naked character. Naked + money cost more, and for not losing anything cost even more.
I even know of a game at launch that you could not choose which sever your newly created character would end up on (talk about a pain meeting up with friends) unless you had a “pass” (costing a good amount of in-game money) sent from the world you wanted into – and that just let you create a new character.
So bank upgrades will transfer even without characters along with gems that are still on the account?
No, the upgrades do not transfer from server to server.
Correct.
Seems to me you are contradicting yourself. The original person you replied to said bank upgrades transfer (which sounds right to me, as the bank is an account resource like gems) but not bag upgrades.
The second person you said was correct was saying (as it read) that the extra BANK slots do not “transfer”.
So bags are no transfer (those are part of the character you would delete, but the bank slots would be yes for “transfering”, correct?
Not at all happy that you now have to be level 80 to get map completion for the Wayfarer Foothills area!!! The new point of interest added in today’s content must be found to complete this supposedly Level 1-15 area.
One, this content auto-levels you (side-kicks you up to) 80.
Two, if being at the door doesn’t trigger the POI, go north hugging the mountain to the Warmsprings Grotto – I actually got it there before going in on my not level 80 ranger.
Amazing how you actually think its as simple as “Unlucky”… im pretty sure its a bug of some sort. there is no way you open 500 chests and get nothing. and if there is, someone should sue Anet for stealing all of our money for false promises.
If they are actually getting “nothing” they need to file a support claim.
If they simply are not getting the item(s) they want, well, RNG. Unless you can show me somewhere where Anet promises those specific items within X chests?
On my slyvari, after being pushed back, I exited, and entered again and was able to get the POI.
It seems like you can only use it once per character anyway?
I had to read that twice too, I guess they mean that the name change contract is only usable once, but not once per character. Maybe they’ll clear this up.
What they mean is buying this gives you an account bound item, consumable, that you can move around on your characters before using, but can only use once.
And $10 fits what I’ve seen elsewhere for a rename.
Sounds kinda like the half eaten weapons (which go for a huge amount for low level stuff)
Awesome, thanks Gaile.
Trying to have as much info lined up and ready “just in case”
Bailey, the game key is included on the email from Anet when you buy directly from them, just don’t erase the email
Copied mine to my password app on my phone – 1Password keeps a backup online so I’m not worried about losing it.
None of us see a problem with the name. If you renamed and you’re happy with the name, great. If you didn’t rename yet, let me know. (I can’t give you a free rename, but if you didn’t rename we can uncensor and let you go about your business.
)
And thank you for letting me know you were _not_ give a time-out. If you had been, I’d have to smack someone for that error and I’m feeling particularly benevolent today.
*votes for Gaile’s title being changed to "Benevolent Arenanet Support Dictator"*
Maybe it’s because of this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Name
A name is a word… I hope you will get kids and call them “Jef and Jhon” or something like that ….
Anyway, if they censor words, then yes lubricant may be on the black list.
Depending on the report it might be for that with the second part or the second part alone.
I admit I laughed at it.
I wonder why they are not making this change NOW and wait for the end of the month patch…
Because they don’t like put patches live that don’t fix OMG SERVER DOWN/CHARACTERS ARE SCREWED/etc issues during the month.
It’s only game, set, match if the final data is provided that substantiates that the control of ectos is not controlled by a small minority, i.e., 2 guys could have traded 140k of those ectos with the remaining 10k being squabbled over by the 9498.
Stats can be used to prove or disprove anything (often the same thing). It’s all in how you present it. Not saying that’s the case here, but just saying.
A minor distribution breakdown.
Ectos and market manipulation in general are the City of Heroes Accuracy nerfs of Guild Wars 2.
You sir have my condolences.
Prioritizing a bug fix that doesn’t actually affect the TP usage at all over any fix in the game that does affect players would be irresponsible.
I know it affects how I use the Trading Post.
I’m curious. Could you be more specific? The only thing I can think of is that you want to use the TP as a vendor, and that’s not really what it’s designed to be.
I know. Outside of Orr, vendors are everywhere. Once a Renown Heart is filled, it’s a vendor. I like trying to make some extra though, and it gets to be quite the hassle when you try to sell and everything lists as “1 copper” when you know the vendor price is higher. If its one or two I’ll usually mess with figuring out the real values but when you have a large amount, it’s not worth my time to deal with it.
If this doesnt convince you maybe this will!
D’awww, ok.
I heard from our item designer that we are working on a potential fix for this issue, and that it should go in our next big content update. Thank you for your patience, everyone!
To clarify, by “next” you mean March’s, right?
(not really, CoH died from a failed attempt of a game trying to adapt to a changing MMO market among other factors like a tiny user base and zero advertising)
Arguable. Some of the stuff they were finally getting to do would argue otherwise.
In a game economy you need to have things that cause you to lose funds in one way or another. Without that there is no good economy in game and inflation etc will go crazy. If your complaint was towards the size of tax that’s different, but there’s a team devoted to the economy and making sure it is as stable as they can keep it. Taxes are a needed evil, as much as I hate them I understand why they are important. Not to say I don’t miss my military time when I could buy $300 worth of stuff from the PX and it would cost… $300 ^^; They even added bottled water deposits where I live.. So much for buying 34 packs of water, cause I never make it to the store to get the deposit back lol..
In before John Smith points out something obvious.
Edit:Doh.. gosh hes fast.
Come to Oregon. Unless your Californian, we got enough of those :p There are a few states without sales tax.
And most places have the deposit for an incentive. It’s only a tax if you let it.
But to be on topic – cash sinks like this are needed because “money” in an MMO is really a limitless resource as far as creation goes.
City of heroes, when it first added in what they had for legendary gear, had it sell for millions. Five million influence for the recipe was huge… at the start.
Before it was shut down, people were selling the more popular ones for 2billion, which was the bid cap, if not more via off-tp transaction. And this was with each peace of gear (at the start, later some didn’t expire) having a 7-level maximum useful life.
Prioritizing a bug fix that doesn’t actually affect the TP usage at all over any fix in the game that does affect players would be irresponsible.
I know it affects how I use the Trading Post.
Robert – sounds like to me that CallMe’s client got de-sync’d from the server.
I show you as reinstated immediately after the name censor. We’re trying out a more kindly procedure, and since this was your first name block, we flagged the name (it must be renamed, but I don’t think you argue with that!) but we removed the suspension. If you rename acceptably — and I am confident that you will — then you’ll be just fine.
For broader info: If someone were to rename offensively, they would serve at least a 72-hour suspension with the second name infraction. We’re testing this, and we’ll see if it’s effective. I hate to go back to the “insta-suspension” for the first name block, so I’m hoping this will prove to work well to remind people to not use offensive names, get those names out of the game, but keep the players able to continue playing.
You forgot to mention punching the nephew, in the face or otherwise, would have no affect on his ban :p
I don’t even know what to say to this.
Color does not define what gender you are. Those days are way behind us. Females appreciate blue just as men appreciate pink. Females do not have rights to the color pink and just because something is pink, does not mean it is instantly only for females.
There is nothing sexist about it at all. You are just looking too far into it. It is a unique skin that is exclusive to the Black Lion Chest. Same as the Tiger Charr Backpack.
Besides, pink used to be a guys color.
It’s just most of the proof is in black and white photos.
Final Rest has no connection to this tomb at all.
So not going to bite on the second part of my post? :P
