We are at least a week and a half away on a fix for this, possibly longer depending on how long it takes to test it properly, we wouldn’t want to deploy anything that makes the issue worse!

Flipping is hardly unique to GW2. I’ve seen/used the term in any number of games. City of Heroes, Rift, etc.
In real life, you most commonly hear the term in reference to real estate “Flipping a house” – there are even shows about it. Where you buy a house, typically a foreclosure or tax seizure house (which are generally sold below market value, especially Tax seizure houses as the government merely cares to get enough for their money owed them and it clears all other liens on the property, usually) then sell it for actual market value. This will be my second ticket in 2 days, 2 days ago i bought this downloadable content and did every i was told in writing and have not been able to play this game. Can i get a refund.

Have you tried posting in the tech support forum? I seem to recall hearing this kind of issue before, and so there should be people (either Anet or other players) who can help get the game going for you.
If you do wish to get a refund, Gaile can’t help you wihtout a ticket number.
The way this got answered means FotM DC issue isn’t gonna get a fix any “soon” as told, ah finally I know it, thanks.

Hello, so I have a few questions with purchasing gems with a Vanilla Visa Giftcard. I am not sure what to put for name and Billing Address. Also, when I just put my normal name and Billing Address, it just tells me Card Approval Failed. (Also I have activated my Visa Gift Card on it’s web site). So I am really not sure what to do, help.
Have you verified on the visa website that there is no way to add in your billing address?

Very minimal I could see, but to say nothing at all is hyperbole.
Bestbuy and Amazon both offer gem cards – the “main” gem card is for 2000 gems.
Note if buying on Amazon.com, buy ONLY from amazon, all the 3rd party retailers on that site (or would be 4th party?) charged more than the “MSRP” for the gem cards.
And amazon gives free shipping on it. For me at least, Best Buy also has it locally according to the website.

You do know that the rollback feature is not retroactive right? Meaning once it’s implemented, any past hacked players are still stuck.
well, thats why i said “…and even if they cant restore what was lost, im hoping they will at least reimburse what was lost”. And even if they dont do that, at least others wont be completely screwed over like i was

Making chest loot drops scale to your amount of MF you have is plain ridiculous and a slap in the face to everyone who doesn’t want to use it.
Where does it say the chests will scale off Magic Find? Or are you saying that that chests do and have always scaled of Magic Find, which is (according to Dev post which I can’t recall when/where it was) that Magic Find affects ONLY loot you get from “searching” a corpse?

My husband had a problem with his account, something about fraud, now he bought a new key in the official site (https://buy.guildwars2.com/en/), he tries to activate, but his account still banned, (despite have been charged in his credit card bill). He just wants to activate this new key and play again, more than 8 days without playing.
The Ticket is: 121116-000437 and was updated with all the data needed to solve this problem. Still waiting…
Did you get an email or ticket update from support saying the account had been “released”? Until you do, you can’t apply a new code to the account.

BestBuy and Amazon both sell gem cards, and Amazon definitly has free shipping. Best Buy had a $15/1200gem card as well
If you go to amazon, make sure you buy DIRECTLY from amazon, the 2000gem card is $25, not more. All their resellers want to charge at least $ 30 it seems.

just happened to me last boss 3rd dungeon of fractal just a step to lv up and boom got kikked out with error and coudn’t get the loot….anet u should fix it right now not with last patch. u fix so useless things like random spawns of halloween corn(tbh is nothing annoying or something like) and u don’t fix immediately things that ruin gameplay and make people angry towards you? wan not me that claimed we are working on priory things first(isn’t that a priory?)..
Different issues require different fixes.
Different fixes require different skill sets.
New content creation teams generally are not also your bug fixers. And depending on how they fixed the candy corn issue, that one actually COULD be a person pulled from content creation/environmental. But connection issues with a dungeon? That’s a different skill set entirely.
It seems to me they are skipping work about serious issue, like unprofessional laziness, FOTM can’t be resumed after disconnection, no flexible way to stay in a dungeon if leader disbands party, no system to find a group for dungeons especially for FOTM that has infinite levels of difficulty, traits totally bugged plus many other bugs/issues, I mean is this game really RELEASED?
You act like they purposely code in the issues, so it should take no time to remove them.
They don’t.
When something doesn’t work right, it’s because something unintentionally went wrong, which makes it hard to find. Other things take time to change depending on how the game is made.
Don’t call them lazy until you have worked on THEIR code.

Released, or reinstated? Reinstated you should be good to go, but released you need a new serial key. Support should be able to help you if you need clarification on what key you need (my understanding is once used/made there is no difference.

Broken Game would mean it is unplayable. Simply not giving buffs (that are not required to progress in the game) does not make the whole game broken

Just as I will state that animators and most other content creators don’t fix code bugs, Community Reps/CCs are not Developers and do not have the ability to state dev intentions. The best they would be able to do is 1) link to any existing threads and 2) pass on to the debs common concerns (via Gaile if I read her position correctly).
Might not help that rightclick → Join was bugged at release.
I recommend sending in a ticket if a crash or the reboot kicked you out. Get it noted by ANet now for when they do the resolution.
Yeah I’m calling BS on the OP also. In order to successfully do the event with an alt, you had to join a party that was apart of it. Then you had to go back and forth to LA in hopes that you would get on the same server as the group, with the event taking place. Finally, you had to actually run to the area with the chest, which is no small feet.
The hardest part would be the run. And apparently the end area was open prior to the event.
Have any of you complaining about this actually done a world event before that spawns a chest? If you do not get credit for event ie get bronze or above you will not be able to loot chest. I DCed on start of last step of the event and then when logged in was placed in a overflow server that had just completed the event. Was unable to loot the chest that was there because I did not get a precipitation of the event.
Did you get event credit from your original instance? These people apparently did.

Maybe I wasn’t clear in my original post. It did happen. I watched it happen. And if you had friends helping out it was quite easy to do.
Also, this wasn’t an exploit. Nowhere does it say you couldn’t do this. Don’t get mad at them (or me), get mad at ANet for allowing it.
Actually, this is a classic example of a WAD/C type exploit. It needs to be addressed in the future, and the most that should be done is the extra items removed, I’d say. But this is an exploit. If it was meant to be account wide they mail it to each character.

Your friend should do this, most likely. I’d recommend first she register an account (support system accounts are separate for a number of reasons from the game account, using the same email is recommended) but it’s not necessary.
Use the “ask a question” tab. if after three days no response/resolution after the human response (you should receive an automated “your ticket is in the system, here’s the number” email right away) there is a sticky thread here for tickets that old to be reviewed – but don’t post in thatthread until it’s at least three days old.

Check your mail – try getting rid of all “mail” type mail.
General : Please start a Public Facing Test Server for these events. Even if you leave out cinematics to try and keep some surprises, the event chains really should get a heavy test. even if you limit to a invite group, having a large number of actual players (vs simulated) could help expose these issues.
Phase 1 – the information hunt was nice, only did the initial one that got stuck on Noll, didn’t do scavenger hunt.
Phase 3 – Culling was bad, although not as bad after I set myself from “Recommended” to “Best Performance” – still had culling issues however. While setting the bombs up, there were several times I died even as I was revived because there was no where to move, and got rolled over by Qwerty the Kakra, as I started to call them.
Also – If you could somehow have one-off non-contestable waypoints, that’d be nice. Or make clearing the extras part of the event. It wasn’t fun having to run across the island from the other side. “Small” area it might be, but for one lacking waypoints it’s huge.
The Ancient Kakra –
Reinforcements – overboard. With the difficulty of the Kakra, combined with how this is an all levels event (even if designed for level 80s) was overwhelming. Less numerous per reinforcement would of been nice. If you could of had them under some kind of debuff/weakened version that might of also worked.
Trapped Gas Pockets – got stuck in these several times because I accidently hit F1 while trying to break them open and I was on my thief. The fact that all /stuck does is log a quickie bug report then tell you to waypoint out… was disheartening. Especially considering the lack of any real loot to counter the costs, which where digging into my bank already after the many deaths during the bomb setup.
THE DEATH : Awesome scene.Would of liked to see it in better detail however due to lowered settings for playing reasons. Maybe post a high-res version on the site?
THE LOOT – Handled fairly well. Liked the container
Also nice that the “unique” piece is available else-wise via the special vendor. Nice amount of Rare/Exotic.
Overall I enjoyed the event. Culling and getting stuck were the two BIG issues I had.

hay i have lost about 600 points to..and allso my leg armor has new stats..wtf going on. why bring out new content when there is still bugs with the old content.. this needs to be sorted asap.
The big fixers are not necessarily the content creators. Or are you expecting the artists to draw and animate away the bugs?

Some (not everyone) have been having this issue. It seems to have started at the beginning of the month – no idea if its been fixed.
Yes, you can use the disc you have to install the client on a second computer. The client is not bound to any particular account. When you start an account for your fiancé I’d recommend a 100% separate account just for Murphy’s Law type reasons.

Just to make sure- have you tried with your old keyboard? Because not only does arena net not boo Logitech, they’ve an LCD app for GW2 (I’m running a G19)
What error(s) does it show?
To be fair, even in the US, if you bought a physical copy the store wouldn’t be able to tell you the CD serial inside.
As far as the two tickets thing – I’d go an mark the second one closed/solved, and use any new info in it to update the original.
Dupe tickets tend to slow things down some.
I highly doubt any nerf was put in place, just bad luck for you. I have only salvaged 2 rares but I got 3 ectos from them. Every couple of weeks someone makes this thread it seems.
The fact that there are multiple threads about this recently, plus many ingame convos in guild chat, LA shouts, etc. say otherwise.
Have you ever heard the phrase “the obvious answer is usually right” ?
Random is Random is the obvious answer, I would think.

The most frustrating aspect (besides my ability to enjoy the game this weekend) is that it is glaringly obvious that there is a problem on their end, yet no official statements have been made. I am certain this is well known at Arena net and the decision to not publicize their billing issue is most likely to not affect FUTURE sales. This is absolutely the wrong decision and unethical. Man up, admit you’re working on a problem and you wouldn’t have pissed offed what appears to be a decent percentage of actual customers who were excited to join the game.
Most companies, if they ever do, don’t release the kind of statement you’re looking for until they know what is the issue.

I would like to look into the few cases where you, personally purchased the game from buy.guildwars2.com and then experienced an account closure.
I don’t want to hear from those who bought from a third party who claims to have purchased from our site. I don’t need to hear from people who did a charge-back or asked for a refund. I would very much like to hear from someone who bought the game from buy.guildwars2.com using a legitimate credit card and then found his/her account terminated.
- Please indicate the date you purchased the game.
- Please confirm that you personally purchased from the buy.guildwars2.com site (not through a partners, not through a third-party).
- Please check your credit card statement and verify if you were or were not charged for the game.
- Please post your Incident / Ticket Number here.

I think with some CC’s if the original processor doesn’t accept the funds within a certain amount of time the Pending charge may drop and funds would be returned to the card. I do believe you are onto something with billing tho Gale. At least for a percentage of us.
I do know I used to have this sort of issue at Burger King – anything purchased on a card over the weekend would usually take so long to settle the bank restored the funds to available (luckily, even when this caused me to go negative after the funds did come out, the bank never charged me overdraft
)

I reported a bug about this but yesterday bought gems which showed up then purchased keys and a magic find booster which took the gems out of my account but then the items never showed… Still haven’t showed as of 2 hours ago.
If you have any emails, try deleting some (even if there is less than ten) – that got (spam first) emails to show up that included my gem store purchases.
Keep the account, if those were the options left – especially if names (both account display names and character names would not be wiped if starting a new account) as the names set the feel of the character for me and my display name is an identity I have invested several years in at this point.

Ignore this as you will, but someone else has already pointed this out and I don’t feel that people paid enough attention to his comments: You will forever, and ever, have gold buying running rampant, so long as you have RIDICULOUSLY priced items, such as the legendary prerequisites, costing 300+ gold. This is the core issue with your economy.
So you blame arena net for the prices players set?
