@Sensotix
I enjoyed reading your post and I think you are spot on with many of the things you mentioned.
Maybe one of the problems with warriors is that they were not viable for a very long time.
A-net as a result kept buffing the warrior in various minor ways, each made the warrior stronger, but still not quite on par with the other professions.
When the warrior finally did become viable, it was with great strengths in both control, survival and damage.
I think the challenge, is finding a way to make the warrior strong in areas that are more specialized but more vulnerable in others, without removing its viability.

A mesmers can use the swords blurred frenzy every 10-12 seconds and still got utilities to use, even if they use the f4 skill they still dont use any of their utilities skills.
I am no expert, but I don’t think sword is even the go to weapon for mesmers atm.
Besides, I thought this was suposed to be a discussion about warriors. :o
Hi,
Concerning World bosses and reward…
Since returning to GW2 a month or two ago, I had not done Teq because no one does it anymore. Only a small handful of servers do it, or capable of it seems. Finally, last night I did it. While all the boxes to open were cool, not one exotic dropped. And even if an exotic dropped, who cares? I want BiS gear from a fight like that.
So my contribution to this thread is in regard to alternate routes of acquiring ascended gear. If you are able to be in an overflow or on a server or part of a guild that is organized and skilled enough to take down a fight like Teq that requires 80+ people, you should be rewarded with a garunteed ascended item of your choice(stat wise). No discussion. That fight is nicely involved, time consuming…and leaps and bounds harder than anything else in the game. You cant give me 3 or 4 rares, a handful of T5 mats and a few silver for it. It needs to end with an ascended piece. No getting around it.
After killing him more than 100 times, I am yet to see anything interesting drop, so I can’t say I disagree with you. :-)
A friend of mine is closing in on 300 kills and is yet to get an ascended drop. RNG ftw.

I apoligize in advance if this post sounds a bit hostile, but some things I red in your post made me slightly angry.
- Time gates help players with less time (If I can only play an hour a day, my time is more rewarded.)
Not sure where you’re getting this idea from. I’m one of those players and when I come home late during weekdays, I don’t want to spend my limited time on some kind of shopping list every single day. I’d rather do something fun like events, WvW or PvP, than waste my time on boring timegates.
However, the days I do have a lot more hours to play, I can’t catch up. Why? Because these timegates that are supposed to “help” me, are actually stopping me from progressing .
I am not one of those players, but I still agree with this. When I am done with my real life “shopping list” I don’t choose to log in and play just to find another one in game.
The “shopping list” is not what will keep me playing. Having fun while playing is.
So far, that means not crafting ascended. I do not find crafting fun enough to level all 3 weapon professions and one armor profession just to have the future option to gear up one character.
It also collides with some of the horizontal progression I had in mind for my characters, such as getting my hands on some of the beautiful weapons that happen to depend on the same materials that I would need to level crafting.
- Repeatable time gates add “pressure” to log in which helps create possible reward loops and play patterns (I want to log in every day, which often can become play experiences, talk with friends, strengthen relationships and get players into a pattern of seeing what’s going on.)
What about making actual fun stuff that makes me log in? Instead of shopping lists and other psychological tricks to “make” me. Wouldn’t it be better to have players log in to do content because it’s actually fun, instead of just because it’s time-gated?
Don’t get me wrong, I like most of your content. Just not the heavily time-gated content.
I would prefer this as well. I don’t feel my relationship with people in game becomes any stronger by standing at a crafting station x amount of minutes a day or running a champion train for y amount of hours in order to farm money and materials.
What does strengthen relationships is being able to play the game as you want while doing the things you enjoy and meeting people or playing with people that feel the same way.
I am not saying ascended and time gating makes it impossible, I am just saying from my point of view it works as a reducing factor, not an enhancing one.
I love the game still, but I loved it more before you introduced ascended crafting as the only reliable way to obtain ascended weapon/armor.
(edited by Reesha.7901)
Not sure I like the soulbound idea. Some people might have re-rolled and would end receiving gear bound to an alt they don’t play much.
That pieces would be locked to lesser-played characters, allowing them to catch-up slightly compared to more played characters in your stable is entirely the point
.
Still don’t like the soulbound part.
It might work for you, but I stopped playing my first created character a long time ago. Actually, I deleted it a while back for the very same reason.
More ideas from the peanut gallery:
A nested soulbound Ascended Chest (first choice sets Armor/Weapon, second choice sets Stat combination, third choice sets item slot) delivered to each character on their 2nd birthday would be a nice way to level the field between alts and mains…
Just make very sure we can’t concentrate multiple chests on to a single character
.
Not sure I like the soulbound idea. Some people might have re-rolled and would end receiving gear bound to an alt they don’t play much.
This has happened to me 4 times by now when either retreating or blinking. Basically, you are stuck on flat terrain afterwards.
You can still jump, you can still blink around, you just can’t run/walk in any direction… It is like a never ending immobilize, which my opponents in spvp has appreciated greatly so far.
What if you could sell them? Thus complimentary to other forms of acquisition?
Chris
I have a friend.
A month ago, he said on TeamSpeak.
I had dusk drop for me last night.
Really, you got a precursor?
Yeh, this is the first time I had one that was worth a lot dropping.
…. You mean you have had multiple precursor drops?
Yeh, but this is the best one.
A week ago, he said on TeamSpeak:
Sapling. Guess what dropped.
What?
No, no guess.
Really… you got another precursor?
Yeh, but not dusk this time.
How many precursor drops have you had in total by now.
7 no … 8.
That is RNG. That makes some people very rich.
I would prefer having several ways of working towards ascended items. Why can’t I be rewarded for doing the same things as another player? Why can’t I work towards my ascended items by killing Tequatl etc.?
Why can’t there be more reliable ways to work towards them?
Having them not account bound would be a very nice start.
Having them sold on the TP could free me from the burden of crafting.
I would still love to see more options though. I would love to be able to obtain them reliably by playing several areas of the game.
What if a certain amount of fractal relics could be used?
What if Tequatl dropped ascended tokens and when you had x amount you could buy one of his unique ascended weapons?
What if I was a WvW player? Would I ever get enough money to buy them off the TP?
I am sure there are many other and even better options, but this is what I could think of for now.
(edited by Reesha.7901)
Ok another brainstorm idea.
What if certain pieces of ascended gear could be crafted and sold on the TP such as gloves and boots?
Chris
Yes please, or even better:
All pieces could be crafted and sold on the TP.
All pieces could change stats.
All pieces could be obtained outside crafting without relying on RNG.Personally and note this is not the opinion of Arena but I like the idea of uniquely skinned BiS items dropping in challenging content. My opinion as a player is that the current drop rates could be tweaked.
Chris
That will not remove the RNG factor…. Look at it this way:
Say you increased the drop rate on Tequatl. That means a higher change to get a weapon. But it is still RNG.
Some people will get several drops, others will get nothing, most will get items with the wrong stat combination. Please, please, please: No more RNG!
Im simply amazed at the amount of people that are opposed to vertical progression being confined to FoTM. If you think about it, it is the only place ascended gear is required(currently
). So why does a stat increase even need to exist outside of it?
If ascended stats were confined to fractals, then the rest of us who may not want to step foot into fractals would not need to worry about power creep or a treadmill in the open world.
Im very much in favor of this and again, Im amazed that people are against it.
Yep and kudos to you Cesmode for offering the counter argument.
Chris
I am 100% with Cesmode on this one. I believe the original suggestion was meant this way:
Many people are not pleased with your vision of vertical progression. However, if you really want to keep it. If some people really want it that badly, can you at least restrict it to one area of the game so the rest of us do not get punished by the power creep in WvW or elsewhere.
Ok another brainstorm idea.
What if certain pieces of ascended gear could be crafted and sold on the TP such as gloves and boots?
Chris
Yes please, or even better:
All pieces could be crafted and sold on the TP.
All pieces could change stats.
All pieces could be obtained outside crafting without relying on RNG.
About RNG as a form of gear acquisition:
I know people in this game have been burned with RNG in the past, myself included to a degree. Keep in mind that in many games including the almighty World of Warcraft, RNG is the primary source of gear acquisition, at least BiS gear. You get it through raid drops, dungeon drops etc.
I do not want the Warcraft system here, but in Warcraft it was perfectly doable to gear up a guild by clearing raid content.
The items could be distributed between raid members; when they dropped, they were not bound to one person only. That made it possible for guilds to distribute the gear evenly between its members. Either through DKP or a loot council.
In my opinion, RNG worked better in Warcraft.
I am sure you are noting that with our Mega Boss update Tequatl players can earn Ascended Weapons with Unique skins (Sunless) and that we will be moving forward with that paradigm.
“Can earn” no, that is a flawed description in my opinion.
I have killed him more than 100 times and I have not earned anything.
It is a “Can have RNG luck”.
Those are two completely different things. I cannot earn the skin or the stats by killing Tequatl repeatedly. I do not get closer to my goal by killing him again tonight.
It would be nice, if you could in fact work towards ascended by killing Tequatl. However, in its current state, that is not an option. It is (again) RNG.
I do not hope you move forward with that paradigm, if working the same way as the Tequatl RNG.
There need to be added relaible ways to obtain ascended weapon/armor outside crafting. I do not wish for more RNG.
(edited by Reesha.7901)
I find there are many flaws with the current implementation of ascended weapons and armors.
1) It is a gold sink. I do not see any other point in raising the cap on crafting to 500.
2) It is boring. Come on, how interesting is it really to chop trees?
3) There is RNG involved.
4) The RNG drops are like a double troll. Hey, you really lucky and got a weapon, but fool on you, it is the wrong stats.
5) They are account bound; meaning anyone getting lucky with an RNG drop cannot even sell it if they do not need/want it.
6) There are too few ways to obtain these items.
7) It lacks direction. Why did we implement ascended gear again?
What exactly is it needed for?
In other games, lets take Warcraft, you knew you needed this gear in order to be prepared for the release of the next instance. You needed the gear to progress in PvE.
In Gw2 the purpose is hidden. Looking at the current content, I would think the greatest gain would be to craft for WvW. I am however not going to do so.
I am swimming in materials, but why would I?
If I craft gear for WvW and you introduce a purpose for this gear in PvE, then I have put myself at a disadvantage. I would have to craft an entire new set again. No thank you.
8) I hate it. I really cannot say it any nicer. I hate crafting, I hate how I would have to level not 1 or 2 but all 3 weapon professions to get my weapon set. I hate the entire idea of crafting ascended.
9) It feels like an attempt to add “hardcore” content into the game. It is a way to let people have that feeling of being a “hardcore” player, even though all they really did was chopping wood. Fact just is: There is nothing hardcore about ascended, nor should there be.
However, why a power creep was implemented in the first place is beyond me.
It is not hardcore, but sadly, the immensely boring element is tied inseparably to the ascended concept.
10) There is the constant changes of the game, changes to weapon sets, changes to traits, changes to class balance. Odds are, even if craft something, a change will just be implemented that means, oh yeh: You have to craft more now. Lucky me.
11) It is not alt friendly.
A possible solution is in my opinion very easy:
- Have them not be account bound. The people that enjoy crafting can craft to their hearts content and the rest of us will have an option to earn gold elsewhere and buying them of the trading post.
- Add more ways to obtain them. As an example: let your world bosses drop ascended tokens that you can use to buy gear if you collect enough of them. (This is not my suggestion, I saw it elsewhere and thought it was excellent.)
- Let the RNG drops have a choice of stats.
- Make ascended weapons/armors available through laurels etc. like the accessories and visa versa.
- Make your vision of these items clear. I want to know where this is heading. I do not see why I should embrace the concept before I do.
- Make stat swap available on all ascended items.
(edited by Reesha.7901)
Well done.
Personally, I would love to hear more about other classes. Gurdian, ranger and thief was explained well, but some of the others were barely metioned.
If you do not run with a thief as an example, what class can do his job and would they approach it the same way?
What if you don’t have a ranger? Are there other classes well suited to watch a node for the guardian?
(edited by Reesha.7901)
I would say it entirely depends on your build. If you are shatter, then a S/D thief is not a pleasant encounter.
And it happened again, this time on Tequatl. I was not picking up anything, so I guess the two are not always related.
I wish it would grant you some sort of immunity if you were swapped. I had a game the other day where I was swapped 3 times in a row.
It is hard to do anything in a match that way.
Yeah, I hope this get fixed asap.. But it happens for me even though I didn’t get interrupted.
I tried to pick Reflecting Crystal up in Jade Maw this evening. I couldn’t use any of my skills, can’t pick up anything, even my dodges didn’t consume any energy(can roll around but no evades).
Good thing that getting downed/killed fixed it.
Exactly this happened to me on Jade Maw as well.
and whats that mean?
-u should have fun even if u play 14/14/14/14/14 with a halloween costume! I agree !
My interpretation would be something like this:
It is important to have fun while you play, regardless of what spec you play.
It is important to have fun with your chosen spec while playing, regardless of what that spec might be.
(edited by Reesha.7901)
Well, I am glad you see yourself as acting mature.
However, this is not my topic nor is it yours.
Perhaps you should consider promoting your own build instead and let Vash promote his.
I am done here and I sincerely hope that whatever comes after this post is going to be of a constructive nature.
I like it when people get into discussions without even reading the whole discussion or barely even know what this is about.
Aww, another aggressive comment from you. How delightful.
Some people do actually care about the state of the game. People who are not you probably.
Uh, and another one!
So yeah, sorry if I’m trying to convince people who seem to be pretty good on shatter that it’s underpowered. Guess that’s a crime.
People already know shatter has its challenges. It is old news.
People might choose to play it regardless, because it works for them.
Overall, the conclusion must be that shatter is not for you. Either you can enjoy your chosen break from the game, or you can spend your time being angry with those that dare to play an unforgiving build and dare to have fun while playing it.
But okay, have fun with your shatter builds and lets just keep it as underpowered as it is now in solo roaming.
So, you have a problem with him pulling of a spec that you believe is underpowered.
Imagine that. He takes something that is not fotm and he makes it work. What a great crime indeed.
Besides: Why does this matter?
Where did he say that this is the only roaming build?
Where did he say that he thinks all of us should run this?
The answer is that he never did. He said people should play what they find fun, and he provides a video that shows us how he plays. He explains why he likes the play style of this particular build. He explains why it works for him.
Buka is well known for their arrogant behavior as I’ve gain that reply from almost everyone I asked if they knew buka. The most positive reaction I’ve gotten was: ‘’They are decent players…’’
I try to be polite on this forum, but in this case, I cannot.
What kind of argument is this? “I asked people.“
It says nothing about the build, it says nothing about Vash. It does however say a lot about you.
Why do you feel the need to hide behind other people?
Are you afraid to state your own opinion, and openly admit that this is in fact your opinion of the guild?
Do you think that claiming support from these unknown people makes your argument any more valid?
You are spreading rumors about a guild on the forum, without any purpose at all, other than some sort of hidden agenda of yours.
I get that YOU clearly have a problem with this particular guild. How you feel or not feel about his guild is hardly relevant for anyone.
I’m not saying vash is one of the arrogant people in buka, but I’m amazed he doesn’t seems to get the point that shatter lacks ability’s in roaming.
I don’t know the guild and I don’t really know Vash either. I have however asked him several questions over the past months, and I can assure you he has done nothing other than being helpful, polite and encouraging.
Besides, you have already formed an opinion on the matter. It doesn’t really matter if he explains how he sees and overcomes the challenges of a shatter build. It doesn’t really matter if he explains why he thinks it is viable. He already did that. It is not what you are after anyway.
__________________________________________________________________
Vash: Keep up the good work. I am looking forward to your next video.
(edited by Reesha.7901)
Oh my. I completely forgot to write the important thing: I really enjoyed watching your video Vash. It is a pleasure to watch you play and I love how you add tips and tricks on how to play this spec.
Thank you for describing why shatter is horrible in roaming. Just had to hear it from you.
I thought playing this game was about having fun. Sometimes having fun can mean to play a high risk high reward spec.
Now if I ventured into WvW with that spec I would die and I would die a lot. Hopefully I would learn something along the way. Hopefully I would learn how to stay alive.
To me it seems very unforgiving. All you defense is based on knowing your enemy and your reaction time.
I don’t see why playing a difficult build makes it bad though. It clearly works for Vash although it might not work in the hands of everyone else.
BTW I am starting to realize why people hate mesmers so much… seems most really don’t have any idea how to play against them. I was just in a hotjoin match where I watched an opponent literally — I mean literally — chasing two of my phantasms in circles around a column, while I stood a few paces away and watched.
Yeh sometimes it is hard not to roll your eyes in disbelief.
I had a d/d thief opening on me from miles away with hs spam. I popped into stealth and so did he… Only to make an all out attack on one of my clones. He then ran away and stated in map chat that mesmer’s only had dumb over powered builds.
When he later on died to me and a necromancer, he whispered me, that my condition spec was lame. I did not reply but I was shaking my head as I was playing shatter at the time.
I also got to watch the good old classic, where someone stomped my downed clone while I was a few meters away from it, fully visible with a big red arrow over my head…
Hot join has it’s entertaining moments indeed.
Ghostcrawler is available for hire I believe. He would be a great asset for this game…
No thanks.
In my opinion he was never a great asset to WoW. It was a much better game before they put him in charge.
Somehow, there is something sticking in the back of my mind that these folks who have already gotten their gems back, and still have the other armor could possibly get their gems back and a new skin? How is that fair for those who wait?
Something just doesn’t add up here. (kind of off-topic, but still puzzling)
Well, the problem seems to be, that they haven’t had any options to replace the skin.
Sure they got their gems back. What if the skin is applied to their armor?
Would you want to delete all your gear to get rid of it? Not just the skin but the armor set it was used on?
Mhm – I don’t know much about the lore, but considering we have 2 racial skills:
Seed Turret: Create a Seed Turret at targeted location which will attack nearby enemies.
Take Root: Take root at your current location, becoming immobile, but causing several turrets to grow nearby.
They do seem to fit an engineer quite well.
I never use any of the racial skills though.
I send you a PM with information on how to apply. TKS, TSS and THS is basicly the same thing. 3 different guilds but under the same management.
Maybe one character eventually, but only if they implement a reliable way to obtain this gear outside crafting.
Lvl 17. Last might my friend got a mace skin.
No, no. Don’t get me wrong. I was not trying to say that raiding should be the way to obtain gear in Gw2. I was simply pointing out that RNG in this game cannot really be compared to WoW’s gear progression.
The RNG chance in this game means: Go chop wood!, because outside crafting, there is no reliable way to work towards ascended weapons/armor.
In WoW it was the other way around: Raid or accept not getting PvE BiS.
I would like to see more ways to work towards ascended outside crafting.
Oh agreed, there should be multiple ways of obtaining them, definitely as drops in fractals.
Yes, there should be many more ways to obtain this gear than just crafting.
Personally, I feel it should be available via all the same means as exotics (sans being tradable of course), but simply cost more. Make them purchasable via dungeon tokens, but make them twice if not 3 times the cost of exotics. Just give me more options!
I like that idea.
I also think a suggestion, I saw elsewhere, would be nice: Have world bosses drop an ascended token of some sort, and you would then need x amount of them to buy an ascended piece from a vendor.
It would also be rather nice if you could choose stats on the RNG drops. If you get lucky with RNG (and that is a big if), then you need extra RNG luck in order to get a drop with the right stats.
However: more ways to obtain them in the first way pretty please. I for one dislike crafting with a passion. :<
who designed those ? what happened to anets artists ?
i hope those models are not final, there are lvl 20-ish armor sets that look better. They realized ugly armor was a good way to lure people into buying more skins from the gem store.
Kinda sounds about right, though the ones in the gem store aren’t necessarily better looking (medium/heavy flamekissed, off the top of my head. Possibly light version too, now that they’re going to change it ><).
Then they can sell transmutation crystals.
Profit.
You are missing the point here. The chance of dropping an Epic loot and also getting it in WoW was determined by the expansions length. In other words, if the expansion lasted for 7 months then the gear drop rate was determinated to correspond the to the chance of all players getting that item in 7 months or less, if they needed it. After 7 months had past, a new expansion was out with new gear, making the old gear obsolete.
Since there are no plans to make better gear in Gw2, that means that the ascended will never be obsolete. Meaning that its drop rate is determinated to the lifetime of the game, 5,6,7 or more years. In other words the gear drop rate is determinated to correspond the to the chance of you getting that gear in 5,6,7 or more years. In other words ascended gear drop rate in gw2 is lower then in WoW, but is determinated to 2 years or someting like that, becasue 5 or more years would be a bit to harsh, if you ask me.
Mhm – no. I just think I see it differently. Looking at precursor drops etc., I am pretty sure not everyone will see an ascended drop due to RNG.
Unlike WoW, we don’t have the option to decide who gets the loot. Some people might get lucky and have several ascended weapons drop for them, but with stats that they don’t need. Those will just go to waste.
In WoW, at least you could decide who would benefit the most from the item in question and decide accordingly on who had the right to bid on the item.
All in all: I just think it would be very nice to have an option to work towards ascended outside crafting or RNG.
WoW: ‘X’ armor piece can only be obtained from ‘Y’ raid, and you have to fight every other raid member for it by rolling. Additionally it has a minuscule chance of dropping, so you have to run the raid at least ‘Z’ times before you even see one drop.
At least in WoW, you were sure something always did drop from the boss. Yes, you had to kill several times, but if you cleared the instance once a week, raiding was a reliable way to gear up an entire guild.
Regarding fighting other raid members for loot by /roll: That was true for the 5 man dungeons and in the pug version of the raid instances. Any organized guild I have ever been a part of, in that game, used DKP or loot council to assure a fair distribution of loot.
Yeah, don’t want to see that here, I am happy and content that I don’t have to raid. I don’t have a problem with not being able short term to outfit my 9 characters with ascended gear. Heck I don’t even have all in exotics even though I could. This is just me personally, I understand others would like the ascended to be more like exotics, but then what would have been the point?
No, no. Don’t get me wrong. I was not trying to say that raiding should be the way to obtain gear in Gw2. I was simply pointing out that RNG in this game cannot really be compared to WoW’s gear progression.

So here are some questions for you.
Would you keep rank acquisition the same as it is now?
If not, what would you do to improve rank acquisition?
Thanks again!
John
1) Leave rank
2) Change glory boosters to rank boosters.
3) Remove all pvp rewards from rank progression add them in your new system as intended except for finishers.
This suggestion has my vote as well.
Oh yay – more ascended crafting….

Regarding new skills, PvP will continue to have all existing skills unlocked for players. Only new skills will require unlocks. The number of skills currently in the game can be intimidating for new players. We would like to allow them some time to learn the base set while they work towards unlocking the new skills.
Please don’t do this. This may help the 0.1% of brand new players, who’ve never played GW2 before, and decides to start with sPvP. But it will also kill any incentive to create alts and experiment with different professions and builds. So, in catering to those 10 brand new players (who apparently can’t read skill-descriptions and haven’t set foot in PvE), you’re destroying a vital part of what makes sPvP in GW2 a unique experience compared to other games – the totally equal playing field.
I honestly see absolutely no benefit to this change, at all.
I agree with this as well. I don’t really think it is fair to put new people at a disadvantage by not having access the same skills as everyone else.
They are already at a disadvantage from being new…..
The number of skills currently in the game is really not intimidating at all.
However: Having to go into pvp, knowing that you will not have access to the same skills as players that are more experienced. Knowing that this will put you at a disadvantage. Knowing that even if you learn quickly you won’t get a fair fight: THAT would be intimidating.
No thank you. Please reconsider. Don’t destroy one of the best things spvp has going for it.
Asura mesmer named: Res Me I M Famous
That one made me smile.
I must say, I liked the way my armor dyed up a lot more before this last change. The colors are too dark imo.
On the T1 chest, there is a part of the armor that can’t be dyed. Before the last change, this part of the armor had almost the same color as the skin of my Sylvari. After the change, it is darker and does not really fit with the rest of her colors.
They will remake it, FOR REAL? Just tell me WHEN?
There is currently no ETA on when the change will happen.
ask anyone. well most …. its a dumb build for brainless players. its strong and u cant die if u dont want to. aand its not like “you wont die adn are super strong if u play right”….its there regardless.
thief on the other hand….even if u play average you are gonna die fast and die alot. u have to be super pro to really stand up and do decently/on par.
skill level need should = reward / power gained.
Here we go again with the brainless calling and the insults. Why on earth do you make a topic for discussion when you in reality just want to vent your frustration?
Oh, and the not die unless you want to… What class was it again that people complained could always run away or reset the fight if it wasn’t in their favour?
(edited by Reesha.7901)
I think you are strafing away from the purpose of your original post. You asked why it was different and you asked not for nerfs.
When people try to give you reasons as to why it might be different, you seem to get angry with the people replying to you and about the spec itself.
I have seen many people calling brainless on several thief specs. Often due to not understanding the thief class.
Maybe you should consider that even though the PU spec is very strong (and maybe even too strong) there might still be something for you to learn and improve upon when fighting this particular build. No need to insult the spec itself. The way a mesmer’s stealth works is not only related to the PU build after all.
(edited by Reesha.7901)
mmmhmmmm….but i dont believe somebody should be able to do nothing yet do alot you know what i mean? all while stealthed and pretty safe.
Like preparing that nasty backstab?
You know, the one people tend to complain about coming out of nowhere?
Yes it is an unfair reply, but think about it.
A Mesmer is not using stealth the same way a thief is. We do not get extra attacks, we are not going to hit you like a truck from stealth (unless you spam skills on us while we are in stealth.)
The two classes use stealth in a different way. Since the PU does not have burst (unless you spam skills on us) and since the PU Mesmer kills slowly, they need to survive long enough to land their damage.
Phantasm builds are a completely different story. They literally hit like trucks no matter what.
Could it be designed better or differently?
Maybe it could.

I don’t see why anyone would report you for stating your opinion on the matter.
It was probably something offensive, opinions aren’t necessarily without offense. content. Given that the say the heavy isn’t masculine (and they are kind of aggressive in presenting that) I imagine they said something that bordered on homophobic or was just somehow offensive in regards to gender.
More often than not removed posts are removed because of offensive content even if the poster doesn’t see it.
I was refering to the post I quoted.
Not any previous posts that may or may not have been reported.
Apparently my last argument over this subject left someone on the wah-mbulance. I’m sorry for being honest in my opinion on the matter. But I stand firm that the heavy armor needs a redesign MORE then the light.
Agreed.
And if you don’t like my opinion, you don’t have to read it. But reporting me for being honest to the max, well all of the complainers should be reported too for egging on this unfair removal-redesign that will be one sided.
