Its a nice skill, but the ridiculously high arch of the shot makes it really difficult to use in many dungeons and also limits the ability to shoot off bursts of the small aoe (not detonating it early) for high dmg in a low radius.

One thing that needs to be done is fix PvE Guesting. If you can PvE guest with people from other servers that would be a big step to making people not transfer all the time.

I thought this was supposed to be in the game at launch, but ive had to resort to switching servers almost daily to play with the people i want to in pve.

Its not a major deal atm for me (since im not 80 yet), but I imagine it is for people already 80 and trying to get legendary weapon sets, or those just trying to save a bit of coin from not having to get duplicate weapons.

Theres One REALLY big problem I have right now with weapon swapping in its current form.

Currently if you were to use say, dagger/pistol and then pistol/dagger set up

You need to own 2 different daggers and 2 different pistols. Instead of just 1 of each and then being able to swap the hands.

Likewise, if you were using dagger/dagger and then sword/dagger,

you need to own 3 daggers instead of just 2.

This isn’t a particularly huge issue for some classes, but for Thieves and Warriors it creates a HUGE problem for itemization and makes me kinda sad that I would have to farm for 4 legendaries instead of just 2 if I want to play pistol/dagger and dagger/pistol.

This fix shouldn’t be too hard to implement and I don’t see any reason why It shouldn’t be. So lets get this fixed can we!?

While I Do agree they do need to remove the fact you cant move while attacking on all the forms, besides that I really don’t see what all the fuss is about. Ive got Wolf form and Bear form and LOVE them. Wolf form being my favorite, drastically increases my crit chance, increases health, toughness, and power by large amounts. and with the lifesteal on the attacks you can easily go toe to toe with elites straight up or take on loads of normal level mobs. Sure, you cant dodge and move around alot, but you dont need to. In PvP I even find it useful. You just need to have good timing and realize it works best when assisting another person who can cc for you. If your alone, use the leap or charge first, THEN attack.

Granted the cant attack while moving IS a big problem. But only for chasing running foes, and you really shouldn’t pop it to chase people. Use it for a toe to toe fight and its awesome and works as advertised IMO.

They really cant and should not make things like utilities and traits work when in forms. It just opens up too many possiblities for OP’ness and like they said would make some professions feel like they need to be a certain race to be the best.

If changes need to be made at all, the only 2 changes they should make would be these:

1)Allow us to use the skills while moving, (At least all of the attack skills)
2)Allow our Healing Skill to still function. Or Give all Forms their own Healing Skill (Wolf form already has it built in pretty much, but I can see how the other forms need it)

There is absolutely nothing stopping people who are of the dungeons level, with level appropriate gear from doing equally good as a full group of 80s.

This kind of attitude is REALLY toxic to the game and will do nothing but drive away new players for lack of finding groups until they get to max level. Which is completely unnecessary seeing as how dungeons are so much fun and an awesome way to level up.

What really irks me is when people don’t want to take the time to join a ventrilo / teamspeak / mumble / or skype.

Even if you don’t have a mic, being able to listen to someone call directions so people are not wasting time mid fight trying to type out crucial information is SOO beneficial its just mind boggling that people shrug it off with such a laissez faire attitude.

Especially in PvP. I generally refuse to group with people in pvp if they dont want to take all of 2-3 minutes to join a server for voice communication. Its absolutely infuriating when people dont, then whine about being killed and say things like “why weren’t you with me when I was over here doing blah blah blah.”

…..mmmm…Cause I can’t read your mind? Cause…..you didn’t say….anything?

the Transforms need to make you 1.5x as powerful as your current stats

It does boost your stats by a bunch. Look at your stats before and after and tell me they arent given a huge buff.

Because they are.

Wolf mode has been awesome for me as a thief. It gives a nice HP boost, increased crit chance, and the lifesteal on 1 and 2 make sustain a BREEZE on elite mobs for the entire duration its up. Plus it has the aoe crit shout, and leap for distance closing and a cone fear for cc. Its pretty awesome. Bear I have too and dont like as much, but it is beastly for the raw HP bonus it gives.

I use staff all the way. I even love the autoattack myself. The fact it pierces through enemies is AMAZING and makes it a breeze to get tons of Sigil procs if your skilled at lining it up to be efficient.

As said, the downside is when you only have 1 target to kill its lackluster, but there are hardly any situations ive run into where more mobs are not readily available for Mass AOE killing or more people to line up for an efficient use of its effect.

Thief = Can kill you while stealthed if you time it right with render lag

I think real culprit here is just that, stealth doesn’t break on anything

It doesnt need to break on anything when most stealth skills last 3-4 seconds tops and you can still be hit while in stealth.

If you made stealth break on Damage, you’d see the thief class numbers DROP to next to nothing, they would not be playable without stealth. It is the PRIMARY form of defense. Take that away and we might as well role warriors.

Do you REALLY want this game devolving into something where everyone is a carbon copy of everyone else?

(Also, if you’re worried about sweatshops and indentured servitude, do you really think your clothes and food and computer and other physical goods were all produced by fine upstanding companies employing well-paid and fairly treated workers? Of all the good reasons not to support gold farmers, the mistreatment of the people doing the farming rings the most hollow, coming from basically anyone in a first-world country who had the money to buy this game and a computer to play it on in the first place.)

I know what you mean, and ya it is hard not to buy certain products from those places, but whenever possible I do try to by American made. Buying American made products helps reduce our national deficit, and helps out our neighbors. I strongly suggest you buy American whenever you can if the product isnt inferior.

Any plans to add these features? - Would be a HUGE improvement.

I’m pretty sure all of you think RA’s were the end all be all of DAoC. They were not. ToA (a PVE expansion) had more of an impact in RvR than RA’s did. A RR1 could beat a RR11, I should know, I soloed on a visible caster up to RR9 and killed plenty of much higher RR’s than myself.

Did you even read my post? No where do I say RA’s where the end all be all of DAoC. I clearly said that anything that boosts power would NOT be a good idea.

Please read stuff thoroughly before you make a counterargument based on something that wasn’t said.

Disagree with the OP, downscaling is an AWESOME feature and is there for a good reason. The only thing making it optional would do is ruin the fun for low levels if a high level is in their area farming. Farming would become WAY too easy and inflation would become a worse problem than it already is with the small amount of bots that are in the game.

You can still help you friend. I assure you. I don’t understand why you think you cant just because you are not “super one shotting and owning” everything or making it a complete and total cakewalk as opposed to lending your support as a character and beating the content at a level where its fun for everyone.

No challenge = no real meaning to defeating content.
Challenge = more gratification when you beat content.

The problem is that bots are against the TOS of the game, they go against the games stated rules, yet they still exist.

Ya…they do do something “positive” some people like. That thing is provide an instant form of increased power in game AGAINST the rules for people who will do whatever it takes to “be the best” without having any moral compass and at the cost of their own reputation.

Buying Gems and converting to gold is one thing. Bots is completely different. If you actually knew the kind of life that promotes for some of the people who run bots, you wouldn’t do it unless your evil. There are several documentaries that show that many people in China are basically used as indentured servants and given just a place to live and enough to eat and get by on for botting and gold farming. Its despicable, and personally I refuse to associate with anyone who does it.

People who don’t play thieves say they are OP.

People who play thieves realize they do exactly what they are advertised to do, and have legitimate counters.

I play a thief, and for those crying you can be killed in one shot….Ya. its possible. If you are glass cannon spec and so is the thief. Then he can one shot you ONCE every 45 seconds to a minute if your completely unaware he is there, and then he is completely useless until he can do it again.

This game has NO long term stealth. The MAXIMUM stealth duration is around 12 seconds with Shadow Refuge, and is in an area he can’t leave without unstealthing.

Keep your eyes open and pay attention. This isn’t WoW where Rogues have perma stealth. No one should be sneaking up on you completely undetected unless you just ARE NOT paying attention.

Thieves successfully fill their niche role of being squishy assassins with high burst damage and relying on dodging, acrobatics, and stealth to survive. The key to countering a thief is: Attention, crowd control, defense, and sustainability. Bring those to the table and you will defeat a thief. Don’t and you die.

You should know that we CAN be hit while in stealth. And right now, there are TONS of bugs that totally give away a thieves position, (pets, and turrets still go for, and hit us all the time in stealth)

If you can’t deal with a thief….try playing one. I ASSURE you. You will learn their weaknesses first hand.

As to what I find is the most annoying in PvP. People who know about their turrets and pets being able to key in on where I am while stealthed, know how to kite, and run speed + cc or sustain builds.

These two features would be a HUGE quality of life improvement.

I realize you can search specifically for stuff, but it would be nice to view everything that is useable by your class and just filter what isn’t.

Imo – majority of ppl crying about “bots completely destroying economy” have no idea how to make money on AH and/or no clue how fifo market works.
Bots do affect AH, but not as much as you imagine and not always in “bad ways”.

Bots dont always affect the game negatively?

Are you Nuts? Bots are the bane of all legitimate and serious gamers.
They don’t PLAY the game at all, they CHEAT. If you think CHEATing is “ok” then there is something wrong here.

The entire economy would be fine if arena net could eliminate bots. However that’s a hard thing to accomplish. Still, the effort needs to be there because personally, if they let this problem lax, it IS going to completely ruin the economy. And that’s a major part of an mmo to have completely borked.

Greetings!

My name is Clayton, but you can call me Rehk if you like. I am a 24 year old college student majoring in Psychology and minoring in criminal justice. I have been a gamer all my life and am looking for a guild that meets these requirements:

Age does not matter.
What I am seeking is a active community that plays the game and likes to explore all the game has to offer. I pretty much don’t enjoy playing the game by myself. I always prefer to be with a partner or group if possible. So activity is something that I’m really looking for.

Many a time have guilds welcomed me with open arms, and I join only to find that they are empty and do not have an active player base on teamspeak / ventrilo / mumble/ or skype.

I’m looking for a guild that is cool, works toward achieving perfection and bettering themselves and is able to do that while not raging or being hateful and negative.

My game interests are:

World completion on my primary character: Thief
Weaponsmithing and Leatherworking.
Structured PvP with a full group of guildies all using vent/skype/mumble/or teamspeak when we play together.
World versus World.

A guild that also enjoys League of Legends in the offtime they are not playing Guild Wars would be fantastic.

Heres a little gaming experience: (very abbreviated)

WoW: Rolled 7 different Rogues to max level at various times within the game. Focused on PvP almost exclusively. Played in the Guilds Forsaken of Lorderon, Mob Mentality, and Tough Love.

Rift: Played to max level, tried the pvp. Found it lacking. Played with Tough Love

Lineage 2: Played a Orc Monk and Tyrant. Beautiful game, lacked a community and endgame that was anywhere close to the quality of what gw2 has. Played mostly solo.

Warhammer online: played for about a year and a half. Probably the highlight of my gaming days. Played on Dark Crag in the guild All or Nothing.

And that’s about it. If you think you have a guild that is very active on a VOIP and ingame, doesnt rage, and could use one more thief (alt necromancer) in the guild whose passion is group centric PvP. Then let me know!

I have played about 50 games of Spvp.
I am not looking for a WoW clone, I love guild wars. Is it wrong to want to take some well implemented features of one game and add them to another that I like for the sake of improving it? No.

Furthermore, someone’s opinions are not invalid simply because they have not played 1000+ games. If you do not like the suggestions, that is your right not to like them. However, suggesting that people should not, or could not have a valid opinion without playing 1000+ games is ridiculous. I dunno how well your brain works, but for me (and most people) its not too difficult to extrapolate enough information to form an opinion based off of just playing SPvP for one single afternoon session.

ok, ya I could accept that. (One thing I want to know though or need clarification on is. Do Tournament games reward you an equal amount of glory Per match as Spvp?

Part of the reason I shy away from Tournaments is that I dont know if this is the case. Also because sometimes I’m not planning on playing more than 2 matchs, and I’m not sure how rewards are done and tournament winners work if you leave the “series of matches” that encompass the entire tournament itself.

I think the wording just needs to be clarified or the rewards and restrictions need to be more easily apparent.

The problem with this suggestion is that you’re asking for each map to not only have its own gametype (which would be fantastic if you ask me!), but that you’re recommending each map have a different set amount of players per team. This wouldn’t work at all considering how after each game you’re automatically loaded into the next map. Would you rather the system just kick you back to the hearts of mists after each map? I sure wouldn’t.

Its not as complicated as you make it seem. Players could simply check a box for games of 5v5 size 10v10 size or 15v15 size. Similar to battlefield 3’s server browser.

About Spvp not being made for groups to stomp pugs, implement a system similar to league of legends or simply divide ques into brackets Ex:

Full team premade bracket 5 people
4 man premade bracket +1 pug
3 man premade bracket + 2 pugs or 2 man premade
2 man premade bracket + 2pugs or 2 man premade + 1 pug

Ya…it looks like a lot of work, and it would be. But with this system it would be fair, and AWESOME. Plus we have these AWESOME machines called computers which can make all this complicated stuff a breeze. Algorithms and all that..
(not poking at anyone with that statement just stating that an idea to improve pvp match ups shouldn’t be invalidated for being “too complex”. That’s what machines are for.)

2- Games need to not start until the Games are full. (Sounds simple enough, I just REALLY hate joining a game and seeing its only a 2v2 or something. People then join and leave and join and leave, and try to switch teams to the winning team if they can. Its just a big mess and creates a lot of frustration.

3- Kills need to give points (they might already and if they do that is awesome, right now though I cant tell if they do) The reason for this being to discourage teams to build NOTHING but defense, and just “hunker down” on points and never kill anyone.
If kills award some points, then it would mitigate the attractiveness of “pure defense” teams.

4- Forests of —-Whatever. The map with the graveyard, waterfall, quarry, and keep lords….needs more people. That map just doesn’t feel like its designed to be played right without 15 people per team. (So each team can have roughly 5 at their base, 5 on a home node, and 5 on middle node) The map just feels too large to play with less people and at that point involves more “running around and tagging bases as fast as you can and no actual PvP”

5- Personal Opinion that in the Game Browser All maps need to have different game modes for different amounts of players. Example:

5v5, 10v10, 15v15

6- SPvP needs to change up how ques work. I dont have any ideas for how, but here are 2 problems I see that need fixed.

6a: Can’t play with your friends in pick up games. Tournaments are there, yes. But sometimes you dont want to commit the time to finish out a tournament, or you want to play a specific map over and over.

6b: You CAN play against your friends in Spvp: While I kinda like this, I can’t help but think there are people out there abusing the system to rig games and get free wins / kills. That just isn’t right and the option really should not even be there. Or if it IS there, make a game mode specifically for fighting players on your own server and award no points. (Or just assure us that you DEFIANTLY have someone there at arena net whose job it is to police proper PvP behavior)

I know this is a lot to ask for, and I’m realistic about how much you guys can achieve in reasonable time frames. Please just strongly consider these improvements as they would greatly add to the enjoyment of an already awesome game.

Necro Flesh Golem Rework - A Personal Quest / Touch

While I must admit I love the Flesh Golem, I cant help but suggest something a little more creative and awesome.

How about giving necromancers a Quest to create their own personal Flesh Golem.

Give players a pool of “parts” to choose from, various limbs, heads, torsos, hands, hearts, etc. The options here are limitless and with what I’ve seen so far from the GW2 art team and story team they could come up with something really creative.

Even if this was purely cosmetic and kept the Flesh golem functioning as it is now, it would be an INCREDIBLE addition to necromancers and really add to the custom feel.

Guild wars 2 necromancer pets are some of the most unique and well done takes on the undead I’ve ever seen in a video game.

skeletons and zombies have been done to DEATH (pun intended)

The tactic that increases the area of marks DOES indeed work, it just doesnt update the tooltip.

One bug that MUST be fixed though is whenever a necromancer is transformed into another form, (lich form, moa bird from mesmer elite, etc) we lose ALL our minions.

This should not happen. It would be fine to loose control of them if your transmogrified into a moa bird, but desummoning all of them is NOT ok.

Need more detailed tooltips for stats on the character screen.

(Defense = number does not really tell us what it does. We need information on what is mititgated and by how much, so us the formulas)

Add a show detailed tooltips mode / hide detailed tooltips mode

Add detailed tooltips for skills, and tactics

(The problem here is that say one skill will say….10% chance to proc _________. Then gives no description of what ___________ does.)

*Pets in general need their own window to moniter health, of course, give us the option to hide it for those that dont want to use it. *

Allow the linking of skills and traits into chat

Please give us weapon slots for all possible weapons we can use on our character.
Instead of the “R” button swapping between one and two, have a Dial that pops up on mouseover and lets us Switch between All available weapon loadouts

Shadowstep for Theives and teleports in general need to be actual teleports, and not just “instant run to that spot abilities”. Theres needs to be a little bit of grace on the Z axis given so that we can shadowstep and teleport over small holes in the terrain and over short obstacles.

Currently +crit% on weapons does not show if its working on not on the character stat screen, no way to tell if its a visual bug or actually not working at all.

Lastly, I’ll just say that certain item and skill descriptions, need to be more descriptive in general. Obviously some people might not like to be bogged down with “too much” information. But the option needs to be there for the sake of understanding game mechanics.

An ingame “Game mechanics and formulas manual” would go along way to helping people find this kind of information to determine what specs to use, what stats to get, what things stack, what doesnt, etc etc. gw2 Wiki is a good source for some of this, but it sure would help to have it also there in game somewhere.

Currently, Im not sure that I can Structure PvP with a group of friends and not be split up when the game starts. This is annoying, please find a fix. (I want to play with my friends, not against them) [I understand tournament mode allows for this, but we shouldnt have to resort to tournament mode to play together all the time in spvp)

This is just a wish, and obviously would take some work, but please consider adding in Battlegrounds with a larger variety of player team sizes. Example

5v5
10v10
15v15
30v30

This could be done with the same maps, just allow for different modes and more players, or done with all new maps. Either way. I really beleive this is somewhat needed as some people have computers that can easily handle Spvp, but not handle World vs world at all. Some type of balance between the two to give an option to participate in “large” battles while not having the possibility to be overwhelmed by HUGE amounts of players slowing performance would be AWESOME.
