YES PLEASE!

Would love to have this in game. I’d love to actually aim where I shoot instead of click target. Would make the feel of using a bow, shortbow, and rifle, and pistols SOOO AWESOME!

With an aimer, I would never target anyone ever again. And feel like that would be a much more natural experience.

Rehk.6574

Thats simply when you decide to require SpvP to have at least 1 healer per team of 5 into the que for each team before its allowed to progress.

Slightly higher que times for proper fights are something most people would embrace.

Ques times too long for you? Roll a healer.
Ques times acceptable for you to wait to have a balanced experience? Good.

Its no problem at all that can’t be fixed by a simple solution.

Rehk.6574

I can summarize the whole thing up right here…

It comes down to PURPOSE. What is YOUR purpose? In tackling this challenge? [be it a big boss, or a group of other players?] In a trinity or (ideally a trinity with sub trinities) Everyone has a unique role and purpose. We get to all feel like magical snowflakes of uniqueness because it creates the mentality of I’m THIS GUY….and I do THIS really well. It creates a feeling like the top picture

What we have now is this…where everyone is the same and capable of the same things, so everyone is just another body. The feeling, described by the bottom picture

Now…think about this for a second. Would you rather be a character in the above? or below? Just another body with a different face…watered down uniqueness, everyone is the dps, everyones the tank, everyones the healer, no one is the hero.

Or a situation where everyone IS there own hero at what they do?

Boom. Your minds have been blown.

How do you think this will fair as a roaming build in WvW, solo and in small groups.

Also help me to analyze which profession/build combos I should avoid with this spec, and which ones should be considered prime targets.

The frustration I feel stems entirely from the RNG nature of it. It’s absolutely maddening to be one of the people who spends a few hundred on rares and several months worth of dungeon tokens into rolling to get back Pearl weapons and then see the next player over (even guildmates) go “HEY! back to back precursors on 2 rolls! what a day!”

I’ve logged about 1200 hours into the game thus far, sunk about 250g worth of lvl 80 rares, about 100g of 80 exotics, and around 10,000 dungeon tokens into the mystic forge, and still nothing.

What’s even more frustrating…is that if I would have saved all that gold, and salvaged all those dungeon exotics for profit. I still would be more than 200g from buying a precursor.

I would rather have a ridiculously long grind for any type of OTHER currency or achievement process than to have to save up that much gold.

I’ve always thought that precursors should come from an Epic Quest line, a mixture of scavenger hunt, riddles, puzzles, challenges, bosses, trials, and tribulations where you venture out into the world and piece together fragments of a broken weapon, mystical additives, and uncover the secret to forging it together. All of which would take you to hidden places, have you tackle unbelievable scenarios, befriend strange and interesting npcs to aid you and take you all over the world.

Each Legendary weapon should, in my mind, have its own full length quest chain with stages that require not only significant personal commitment to the missions, solving puzzles and riddles, but also incorporate the need for other players to help. Certain parts requiring 5 man content, and perhaps a world boss encounter at some point with a special side requirement attached. (example: pull off a scale of a dragon for a shield to be made during the fight – incorporated as a small test of timing and coordination)

Suggestions for WvW Improvement

in Suggestions

Posted by: Rehk.6574

Rehk.6574

1—Take the emphasis away from Keeps and Objectives or at least split the emphasis to emphasize player killing more. Discourage Zergs from avoiding each other and “objective trading.”

2—Reward “pts” (or badges or w/e) Based on an algorithm designed to encourage groups of 5-10 players killing a player for most efficient pt gain to discourage current “Zerg to win model.”

3—Tie in small server wide bonuses for Crafting gain / XP gain / Gold gain / MF gain etc [effecting both PvE and WvW] to number of keeps, camps, towers, and castles owned for each server.

4—Add Underground Tunnel Systems

5—Add a “Darkness Falls-esque” style Large multilayer labyrinth / raid dungeon that is accessed via Obsidian Sanctum only when your realm Holds the majority of the WvW Objectives. Design PvE encounters here to be done with group sizes ranging from 10-20 people, with multiple encounters and levels of difficulty. DO NOT make any loot here better than anything else already achievable else where. Perhaps make unique skins from the encounters or accessed via a token system where tokens drop depending on the current level of the labyrinth. Or the ability to purchase particle effects for existing skins.

6—Add WvW titles. Based on number of kills, kill death ratios, number of X profession killed.

7—Reward Defense of objectives better.

8—Increase the circle size where players gain the reward for taking a keep to include the entire keep itself, and not just the immediate area around the lord. Make Keeps be purged of all enemies before capture is complete.

Handling of Ascended Weapons was Atrocious

Rehk.6574

Bottom line is, if can’t dedicate a good portion of your life into this game, you won’t get the good stuff. But if you cherish your private life, you can always buy gems to get gold to keep up with the lifers. See where this is going? Or you can just quit.

And what is YOUR definition of “a good portion of your life” exactly? Cause that varies person to person.

I have a part time job and go to school full time. I did my 400-500 weaponsmithing during christmas break from school. Guess how long it took? 4 days of working on it for maybe…MAYBE 2 hours a day. (and by “working on it” I mean I casually did dungeons, salvaged everything that wasn’t exotic, and if it was, determined if I could get more out of it using a black lion kit, or selling it and buying mats with the gold.

So in total, it took maybe 8 hours of game time going through dungeons, which I don’t consider “hard” or even “working” cause they were enjoyable.

8 Hours of game time, doing something enjoyable to get a better weapon. =/= A good portion of my life.

You are playing the game wrong, that’s all there is to it. Games are supposed to be FUN. If you can’t enjoy yourself doing content while saving up for goals you want to attain, guess what? DO-NOT-PLAY.

It’s not a problem of game design, It’s a problem with your expectations. Everything in this world is not free, gimmie gimmie right now or else. Good things take patience, and that’s part of the reward for many people. The sense of fulfillment when you attain something you “worked for”. However, as soon as you start thinking about your game as a “job” that’s when you need to really reconsider if your having any fun to begin with. Cause if you can’t find enjoyment in the journey, your going to feel just as empty and hallow if you HAD the final reward you wanted, because then, you have nothing else to go for, no purpose.

  • Ultimately, the purpose IS enjoying the journey, not attaining any goal.*

If you understood human psychology and the principles of motivation, you would see that reaching a goal simply leads to complacency → and then boredom. Which just drives you to seek a new goal (to alleviate that boredom)…and the cycle continues.

The only way to escape it, is to realize you can’t….and stop trying to. Stop fighting it. Surrender. Enjoy the now, don’t chase after the future, and don’t look to the past. If what your doing isn’t fun, simply move on to what is. You have the power to control your emotional state, if you seek happiness, go get it. Don’t complain, don’t try and change what you have no control over, change what you do have control over.

Your best looking character.

CDI- Character Progression-Horizontal

  • 25 damaging condition stack cap per attacker and not per monster attacked. All damage condition builds are useless in pve unless you solo or do in two people tops. Again killing horizontal progression that is already there, just unchain it from the floor.

This would be a game changer for many classes. Now it’s like get one necro per party and he will do all bleeds. You can’t go for condi warrior or ranger or even mesmer, because you will just damage the way party operates…

This too is a much needed change I would support 100%!

Perhaps, given the abilty to stack conditions per attacker and not per monster lower the cap to 20 instead of 25…or something, but defiantly DO IT.

Right now the game feels like you HAVE to go berserker or go home, because of the problem that more than 1 condition build in a party can create redundancy and hinder effectiveness.

CDI- Character Progression-Horizontal

Rehk.6574

WAAAHOOOOO!!!! It finally started.

  • I would like to have 20-40 new skills for each class. Each class already has 40-60 skills counting weapons, so that would be 80-100 total skills to choose from. I think this would be a fun, TCG-esque system.
  • To help accomplish this, I would like PvE skills to be separate from WvW/PvP. This would allow us to go crazy with our builds, and you would still have WvW to help players transition to the PvP skill-set. I don’t think this would cause balance problems because certain skills are already more useful than others; such as reflects, condition-removal, and Warrior’s banners.
  • In order to do this, PvE difficulty needs to be raised. ArenaNet has been making progress on this but the game still isn’t there yet. Currently in PvE, it feels like your build doesn’t matter because content is easy, and hence any new skills added would seem somewhat pointless.

TL;DR:
(1) Rollout 20-40 new skills for each class.
(2) Separate PvE from PvP/WvW so these skills can be as fun as possible.
(3) Make PvE more challenging so our build choices matter.

EDIT: As an afterthought, I think the most challenging aspect of this suggestion is,“How does everyone unlock the new skills.” Every character already has loads of extra skill points so you would unlock the new skills instantly. Does anyone have any Thoughts/Suggestions on this?

Yes! Yes! and YES!

-I love all of this. As far as suggestions to unlock the skills? Quests! Have skills taught to us by mysterious gurus of the profession that require us to do “training” to earn the privilege to learn the secret techniques!

(Basically, just create some unique Skill Point Challenges) =D

Lol Stacking this is a fun game

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Rehk.6574

Rehk.6574

The stacking phenomenon is one I do feel reduces the RPG experience into a “this is the most efficient way to do it, so do it” kind of feeling.

Stacking, while it works, for some is a mental splinter, shredding immersion by reminding us that multiple characters can occupy the same space in the game.

Personally, (and this is just my opinion) favor collision detection, as it adds realism, which increases rpg immersion. Additionally, it provides the ability for the players to make true “walls” of heavy wearing classes to protect squishies in engagements.

The proper way to incorporate collision detection so as to avoid player greifing, would be to make it so that friendly units respond to other friendlies as if they were 50% size, allowing for more wiggle room for friendlies.

However, collision detection will never be seen in GW2, even if the players cried to the heavens for it. I say this because I assume [based on no knowledge whatsoever] that it would be very difficult to code into the existing game correctly, and / or the sudden change in fundamental mechanisms of the game would cause a huge wave in polarity of opinion to occur where people would either be for it 100% or proclaim that it completely ruins the game. The risk of that alone will cause collision to not be added into gw2. Collision Detection being, in my mind, the only “solution” to the “problem” of stacking.

(Personally I myself don’t see it as a “problem” but I do empathize with people when they express their distaste for it from an immersion and / lameness standpoint)

GW2 is currently THE best fantasy / medieval sword and magic MMO.

However there are some others coming out soon that look AMAZING for their respective genre:

Space MMO: Star Citizen

Future Apocalyptic Dystopia MMO: Tom Clancy’s Division

Upcoming challenge to GW2’s hold on best fantasy MMO: Elder Scrolls Online

I’m looking forward to seeing what all of these are like. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be on the boat with Elder Scrolls though till they ease off the subscription based model, or prove (after a few months of watching the games progress or lack thereof) they are worth the subscription fee.

Star Citizen has no required sub fee, Tom Clancy’s division…I’m not sure, but it looks like an awesome game.

Personally I’ve never been able to play more than 1 MMO ever at a time. However, if they are in completely different genres, and are all free to play, I might just change that stance.

I tried to do arah path 2 tonight with a guild group.

It was pretty unfun. We got to the second to last boss np, then ridiculousness ensued.

The boss has a handfull of moves that completely one shotted the entire party. There was a LAUGHABLE amount of time to dodge the one shot animation.

After about 6-8 tries and wipes, we called it. We couldn’t finish it.

NONE of the party members were “new” to the game. All were experienced and capable members.

The problem will selling dungeons, is a balance issue. These paths that are commonly sold need to be looked at and tweaked so they are runnable. We are tired of gimmicky one shot mechanics that you just HAVE to dodge or its all bust. Varied strategy is much more satisfying than being able to either simply “tank and spank” or die to the instant aoe pull of death followed by an aoe bomb. Oh…try to ranged? Electric orbs that also one shot, and bounce, and break crates. Good mechanic.

Stuff would be more fun if it was engaging and required varied levels of thought and perhaps avoided stagnant assortments of boss abilities. Variation is fun. Interaction is fun. Getting one shot….is not fun.

Route to success: Add variation in boss encounters, and or add more levels of interaction, and skill, less “you have .5 seconds to dodge this or you are one shot”

all this being said, let me thank anet for these boss fights I do enjoy rather much:

Path 1 AC Boss.
Path 2 AC Boss

CDI- Character Progression- Vertical

in CDI

Posted by: Rehk.6574

Rehk.6574

What I would like to see in terms of progression is earned character progression in the form of further, deeper character customization. This could be done in many forms.

-Trophies, or little tidbits added onto armor and weapons.
-Give us another skill bar. a special one, 3 slots, invent new skills – really awesome, creative ones. have a variety, 12 to choose from.

to make this skill bar unique instead of just adding more buttons to mash on cooldown, make them require somekind of effect or combat occurance to take place before use. stuff like: requires dodge before use, requires block of a skill before use, requires player to be at less than 10% hp)

4 based on weapon combo equiped -
4 based on class
4 based on race

choose 1 for each of the 3 slots.

B00M – more customization. more depth, more fun. make the aquisition of this extra skill bar apart of an epic quest chain. further personal story, or make each skill thats available be hidden somewhere in the world in a certain special event / encounter / small (5 man able boss) or hidden puzzle reward.

Thats one thing Id love to see. just MORE SKILLS. Doesnt matter how we get there, just more skills, more depth to combat.

right now on many occasions i feel like i just mash all the cooldowns as soon as they come up because thats whats most effective. there is little to no thought put in actually using skills intelligently or needing to wait for openings to use them. some kind of added interaction in combat would be a GODSEND.

maybe thats just me tho.

Oh, and 1 last suggestion I forgot.

  1. - Weapon Dials *- Let’s face it, what makes the game fun is getting to use all the different cool skills Anet made in the right circumstances. Weapon swapping is cool, but MOST classes baring the elementalist STILL carry around ALL of their weapon types for “just in case” moments of need.

This creates useless inventory clutter and breaks immersion from having to open up menus to switch weapons all the time.

I propose you allow us to slot every weapon available to us on our class, and instead of a 2 way swap with cooldown, add a small dial functionality to the ui, (something that could be bound to scroll wheel if a player wanted) that would let players switch between ANY number of bound weapon combinations.

This feature could be made to only work out of combat, and it would still be a big improvement on simple quality of life, and have ZERO chance of being op (because we can already switch to any weapon set out of combat)

Suggestions from a Loving yet Bored fan

Rehk.6574

I love guild wars 2. It has been since it came out, and still is, THE best mmo on the market in my opinion. However, as time has gone by I have felt the slow creep of boredom and the slight sting of a few persistently glaring issues drain away the enthusiasm I wish to maintain for this game. Here is where I would suggest improvements:

  1. - Dual / Triple Spec options*: Guild Wars is a game where there are many cool skills and abilities out there. Yet, with one spec, a good 2/3rds of all my utility skills don’t EVER get slotted because it’s simply not practical to use them for the current spec I’m in.

Even though changing specs is cheap at 3 silver a retrain, its tedious, and unintuitive. The concept of Dual Spec has been well received in almost EVERY mmo I’ve ever played, and I see absolutely no reason why it still has not been incorporated into GW2 yet. The “retrain anytime” consumables are a poor alternative to this and the only reason I can see they invented those is the hope people spend more money overtime on those, than a one time gem store dual trait purchase.

As it stands, I am completely BORED of using the same 10-18 skills I’ve been using with my current spec on all of my characters. Also, I resent having to go back to a city to respec multiple times a day to keep an optimum build for whatever content I’m doing. Dual spec would easily add a good chunk of more variation to every one of my characters making them less boring on a daily basis, and eliminate the tediousness of going back to town to respec EVERY day MULTIPLE times. For this convenience I’d gladly throw down 10$ worth of gems. (just don’t be stingy about it and make it per character instead of account wide)

  1. - Meaningful WvW Rank Rewards.* What can I say here…When I heard about WvW rank rewards coming out. I was ecstatic. I couldn’t have been happier. Then, mega disappointment. Instead of interesting and meaningful rewards that were cool and increased the customization and complexity of wvw combat, we get….

thoughtless +1 -1 % modifiers on seige dmg, guard dmg, merc dmg, some lackluster uninspired supply modifiers, and a handful of good additions to siege skills.

What could have been added -

- WvW trophies for display on your character (a whole section of cosmetics earned through WvW)

- New Meaningful profession based skills, unlocks, and ability modifiers for existing skills. (THIS is where WvW could really present a driving motivation for increased long term play, to enhance and customize your character) This could be done by keeping all extra skills and skill modifications WvW ONLY and wouldn’t effect PvE or Spvp at all.

- WvW Armory / Stats page on the website or page for ingame UI thats linkable to display and show off lifetime Kill / death ratios with information and stat trackers for killing blows on each profession / killing blows taken by each profession. (This could have in and of itself a whole section of achievable titles to go with it)

Basically, what I’m BEGGING for, is a realm rank system more akin to DAoC’s realm rank system. Insert some depth and meaningful character progression for WvW, not just simple and BORING +1 – 1 % modifiers…those are uninspired and don’t have me really caring to log in to get.

And here are improvements I know are in the works, but can’t come out fast enough! (Good job Anet on working on these!) :

-Edge of the Mists

-Precursor Quest / Crafting (looking forward to a possible epic quest more)

-Gold for pvp matches / purchasable lvl scrolls / new PvP map types (capture the flag, crossing my fingers for possible 15v15 matches and matches focused more on Player killing than objectives)

While I understand they are supposed to be weaker than their class counterpart elites, they doesnt mean they couldnt benefit from some tweaking.

Namely: Norn forms should be able to use all attacks while moving. Possibly extend the duration by 15 seconds, or reduce the cooldown by 30 seconds. Pick one.

Charzooka: the 15 shots I think is not too bad, but it needs to be more visually apparent and make sense from a visual standpoint. Showing somekind of cool Ammo indicator for the bazooka would be a nice touch. (Shells in a linked chain like some short of machine gun ammo cartridge that disappear as shots are fired.) This would add to the cool factor and seems a less cheesy way of just saying the bazooka only has 15 shots. The amount of visual awesome would compensate for the 15 shot limiting factor.

Asuras golems: They need to exist until destroyed, or have a more interactive / visual battery charge timer and lengthier duration.

Slyvari and Human Dog Summons: Just like the norn racials an increase to either duration or reduction in cooldown time would be nice. If you want to go for more of a short term effect, they need to have added power, or perhaps provide sometype of combo field (hounds of balthazar leave fire fields) Slyvari hounds do a /shake the water off me dog animation where spores of healing come out. idk. just throwing out ideas.

Cursor Trails

Reason: Because in many cases where there are high amount of spell effects I find myself losing track of my cursor and it becomes very difficult to try and use ground targeted spells with any accuracy whatsoever.

The option to:

-Increase cursor size
-Add cursor trail
-Modify Cursor Color

Would greatly help.

Class Icons on Friends List Panel

Reason- many players have a large pool of friends that are not in their guild, but are just friendly people they met and enjoyed playing with. It would be helpful in the organization of groups to be able to open the friends list and see who is online as which profession so as to make building groups to every players liking easier.

The rune is good for condi necros in WvW. You really need that 24% condition duration there.

you are misreading the runes. they dont give +24% condition duration, its MINUS 24% condition duration (for conditions on you)…which are horrible for necros who have plenty of ways to remove them already.

The sigil of Tormenting is Awesome, Will defiantly be using that on my staff. (have another staff to use for building +10 condi dmg then swap to the procing one for torment)

One thing I can’t help but finding myself wish this game have as a easy to implement and great quality of life improvement would be graphical cursor options to make finding your cursor easier in really intense battles with tons of spell effects going off.

The purpose of this would be to aid in tactical aiming of ground targeted spells and to help click on specific targets easier when there is an overwhelming amount of spell effects on the screen making finding the current cursor sometimes difficult.

Some options to change the cursors size, color, glow, and adding trail effects to the cursor would be relatively easy to implements and be a great quality of life improvement for classes and specs who use lots of ground targeting.

Now theres no way to obtain it EVER. I am so sad that there is such cool skins that are only available to people who had the time to play a specific span of time. Doesn’t seem very fair to the players who unfortunately have to take breaks from the game because of other commitments.

I too missed this event and am incredibly saddened there is no other way to obtain it.

It would have been the coolest back slot skin to have for my characters i can possibly think of, and nothing else comes close to the coolness of it. So sad i can’t get it.

Sucks having real life commitments that force me to take breaks from gw2 where i miss entire living world contents like this.

so….so sad. =’(

World Ranks...Really? is that it?

in WvW

Rehk.6574

I was hella excited for the world ranks when I first heard about them. But after seeing the screen shot where it looks like all it has is +guard dmg – guard dmg, +seige dmg – seige dmg, + supply carried etc….

I cant help but be super disappointed. Those rank “abilities” are not abilities (save maybe the added seige skills) they are wimpy, thoughtless stat modifiers.

Being able to hit a guard for 1% more dmg or take 1% less dmg isnt exciting, its not dynamic, and shows that there wasn’t much thought put into the ranking system.

So, am I missing something or is that all there is to it? Cause if so I think I’m about to put down the game for a while do to general boredom. Which is sad because I had high hopes for the World Ranks to be similar to DAoC realm ranks and give me a reason to get back out there and play for a long time.

Guess not…?

Please tell me I’m wrong and there’s more.

I approve. This sounds awesome and I’d really like to try it.

One hand Sword or one hand Dagger for the win.

This should be an option!!!

Laurels are awarded from achievement points yes?

Will laurels be awarded based on how many current achievement points we have on our accounts? Or only going forward after the patch?

Thorg: I could see that as well, but if that’s the case it really shouldn’t be.

People should be able to use their own brains to figure out the worth of an item with a rune they are looking at. We don’t need proverbial bowling bumpers in place to keep the economy working. And if players could make a profit providing a service (albeit a miniscule one) Of adding worth while runes that aren’t not that expensive to mid level gear instead of the crap runes in them whats the problem?

Can’t have people making money too quickly cause…..why?

Adding a new rune to a Soulbound on use item causes an error when trying to send to a friend or resell.

The item hasn’t been used. Just upgraded with a new rune. This should not happen.

Spent 2gold on buying some nice lowbie items for a friend and runeing them just to find I cant send the items to him.

please fix.

Idea to Revamp Poison

Rehk.6574

So here is the idea.

Poison right now is a damage over time and a 33% healing debuff.

What if we changed poison instead to its own version of Bleed, allowing for up to 25 stacks, and removed the healing debuff into its own condition, something like “deep wounds.”

What would this accomplish?

Well, it would allow for a few things. One, is provides a way for condition builds who routinely hit the 25 bleed stack cap on bosses a second form of dmg output. This could open up many options for balancing certain specs that need work. Thieves in particular could then take a small hit to their burst dmg from the dreaded 3 hit combo, and be given poison stacks to compensate on the dmg loss, keeping overall dmg the same, while reducing the amount of burst that seems to be the core of many complaints.

(I recommend this as a thief main player myself)

So what do you guys think? Would 2 DoT’s (bleed and poison) that stack to 25 potential stacks be too much? Or do you like the idea and see how it could really help class and spec balance be achieved? (keep in mind poison would then lose the 33% healing debuff and it would then be its own condition)

Trophies, Titles, and Realm Ranks

Ideas for more content for Endgame WvW:

#1: Titles,

Titles could simply be tiered for kills, or special titles for obtaining a certain kill to death ratio. Example (Names are blank just providing a idea for kill count required, names could come from the devs)

Rank 1: 1,000 kills
Rank 2: 10,000 kills
Rank 3: 25,000 kills
Rank 4: 60,000 kills
Rank 5: 75,000 kills
Rank 6: 100,000 kills
Rank 7: 150,000 kills
Rank 8: 175,000 kills
Rank 9: 200,000 kills
Rank 10: 250,000 kills

This would distinguish players who have spent years of time from those who are newbloods, and give a nice sense of accomplishment.

#2: Along with Titles, Trophies.

We could add a whole new vendor to the WvW zone that would sell trophies to players in exchange for tokens dropped by enemy players. (These could be class specific, or race specific tokens to signify how many of ______ class you have killed or how many of _______ race you have killed)

Trophies would be cosmetic only and be slotted to Shoulder pieces (like war medals)

Examples:

Charr Skull Trophy (1000 Charr kills)
Dried Asuran Brain (1000 Asuran kills)
Vial of Thieves Poison (1000 Thief Kills)
Hexed Shrunken Head (1000 Necro Kills)
Shield Shard (1000 Warrior Kills)

etc…

#3: Realm Ranks:

For Long term character progression and something to distinguish each character from another you could devise a series of World v World ONLY trait lines, say 5 or 6. All 5 or 6 lines would be available to all classes, and at designated tiers of accomplishment in World v World they would get a trait point for their WvW Trait tree. These trees would be large and take a LONG time to fill out. Years…but it would give us something to strive for. These traits would work in WvW only, so they would have no impact on Spvp or PvE game balance.

Example Trees might be:

Seigemaster Tree: (focusing on additional abilities or skills with seige equipment, and additional benefits or bonuses when defending a keep, possibly even adding access to new siege equipment like siege ladders or grappling hooks.)

Black Ops: (possibly giving the player access to a Decoy ability, or allow them to sabotage enemy dolyaks [make them go b00m! instead of delivering supply when they enter the keep or tower] bonus to amount of carried supply, or access to a special supply delivery system or unit [some kind of bird who carries supplies to a base in need] or some kind of spy telescope.)

The possibilities are endless, and obviously I’m not the best at coming up with specific ideas for these inclusions. Its mainly the inclusions themselves that I think would be a great addition to WvW, the specifics would best be left to better minds than myself, but what do you think?

So...I Just Thought of THE best Idea for gw2

Horrible Idea.

This fundamentally breaks from the design philosophy we all bought into.

You too bought this game knowing full well it had no trinity. Now you come here trying to alter the very fundamentals of the game everyone else enjoys to try and revert mmo design progress back several years? And why? Because you don’t like it?

If your not happy with the current game design there are several other mmo’s for you to go play. Don’t try to ruin this one for everyone else who acknowledged the stated design philosophy and bought into it for that very reason and enjoy it the way it is.

In my view, the Trinity Needs to Come Back

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Rehk.6574

To the OP:

The “holy trinity” does not need to be in this game. It never was, and never should be.

That is not the design philosophy of GW2, never was, and moving to that philosophy would be a betrayal to the gamer base that bought into the games design vision.

You knew from the start the game wasn’t built around the trinity and you bought it anyways. Don’t be upset that it’s not what you knew it wasn’t to begin with.

What are some ways P/P can be made favorable?

Need to up the attack speed with pistols for one.

Second, Add a way to enter stealth (like cloak and dagger) Even if it has to have a positional requirement or something.

Give it one Aoe Shot, “Buckshot” or something.

On another note, while you give pistols a very much needed aoe skill. Also Give Shortbows a useful single target skill, or at least change the way the shortbow #2 skill works so that the detonate is triggered by a different button so we can fire it off faster.

Stealth needs to drop on damage

in Thief

Posted by: Rehk.6574

Rehk.6574

This could not work whatsoever. You’d basically eliminate the thieves ability to ever use a stealth attack once combat has started in group pvp because of all the aoe flying around.

That’s akin to saying Warriors shouldn’t be able to use 1hundred blades after combat starts. Necros shouldnt be able to fear once combat starts. Rangers shouldnt be able to use traps once combat starts…..etc

you get the point. it totally nerfs the classes combat effectiveness.

You can already dmg us in stealth. now you want to be able to break stealth on dmg too? No….just no.

Stealth IS our defense. And its not a ironclad one at that. All it does is make us invisible, you can still hit us. That’s a fair trade off for our one and only defense mechanism and core class mechanic. Deal with it.
