Same happens with partner positions in the minimap. Right now, if they are far, you cant know where they are
Nice survey but i wish u wouldnt put the which class is the strongest/weakest in but instead ask us to rate each one on its own, forcing us to choose one isnt very accurate.
Also on which feature should be first priority u should add incentives.

Hello forums,
many topics are made every day and most of them deffend solid points of view about the current state of the game. However, only those made by “top players” receive the attention they deserve and even these become old in 1 week time.
I also have the feeling that there isn’t a general opinion on some topics (such as class balance). Some people will argue that X is the best class while others will answer it’s easy to counter. I’d love to see what does the majority think of the hot topics in the forums.
So I thought it would be interesting to make a quick survey where everyone could share their opinion and see nice statistics and graphics about the other players points of view.
Of course, Im not related to Anet nor any gw2 fansite or company. Im just a player with too much free time

Honestly if you guys think balance is bad on gw2 wait till you play smite. It is dying almost entirely because of balance issues. And the company has no track record of balancing previous games. Seriously smite’s balance is so game breaking.

wvw culling was a major issue for anet. they probably devoted the lion’s share of their programmers to it. now that a fix is coming out this month, there will be more people able to work on spvp. ergo, we will see faster development of spvp infrastructure. exactly how much faster is anyone’s guess.

That’s my point. Why a b2p game, with way better gameplay, more content, etc lack some of the basic features i described
I dont get how can people criticize this. This guy clearly put a lot of effort into this video and he succed at making it interesting and fun to watch.
Sure fights are not balanced, sure he might play noobs, but who cares? Do you really think this game is going for esports fights? Ill give you a hint: No.
So whats the problem with someone making a good, entertaining video? Should he afk in the mists instead, like most people, trying to protect his invisible MMR? Please dont make me laugh.
The vid was good, it was fun to watch and shows newcomers how dangerous it is to stand still vs a warrior. Probably this can do more for our almost-dead pvp than writing wall of useless text on the forums (I include myself here).
So please, next time someone contributes to the community be more respectful or move to another “pvp best suggestion ever” thread

Lately im not playing much gw2 so i have been trying other games I never played and I realized how many things GW2 needs to have some serious pvp.
Let’s compare it with a f2p moba game with mmo-style combat, from an average budget company. Nothing as close as LoL, dota or hon. The game im talking has a cheap design and doesnt look very polished, yet they have way better features than gw2:
- Player stats: all kind of stats, records of kills/deaths, gold from every game, many info on all the characters I played, summaries of my games etc.
- In game EU and NA ladders + a working and visible elo rating
- In game twitch.tv! (really awesome)
- An official twitch channel that is on 24/7 with top teams playing on it. It also broadcasts the tourneys the game have.
- In game guides to every character.
- Duels
- Host custom games
- Watch your replays and top players replays. Ingame.
- Games for newbies to train vs AI bots. You can also test builds there.
- 1 Competitive mode (like we have) + 3 fun game modes. The fun game modes are not balanced but it doesn’t matter because they are fun to play. They are also really easy to implement because they are spin offs of the main conquest mode like an arena map where players can play deathmatch.
There is also one game mode that changes every day, its an arena where players can only use 1 stated character. Eg: a deatchmatch arena where everyone has to play, lets say, warriors. Again, the fun game modes are not balanced and they dont need it.
- Penalties for afkers & leavers
- Solo and team queues
- A queue system where every team has always 5 players. Always. 100% of the times. People have to “accept” when the queue pops, really basic stuff.
- Some kind of weekly/monthly tournaments to qualify for a bigger one
- Voice Commands for people not using TS/skype
- If you are alt tabbed when game starts, there is a pop up that warns you
Now, imagine gw2 had half of the stuff I described.

Random map is a must
If they dont know how to make it happen (jesus christ) then change the map every 12 or 24 hours
they have lied to the pvp community again and again and again..
I also think that boons are the real problem with balance:
- They are very strong
- They are very easy to get
- They are impossible, for most classes, to remove.

1- When will a proper matchmaking system come out?
Since the join solo queues are quite dead, you get matched with the only people joining, that’s why you get a rank 43-27-11-30-15 team. You also get often matched against premade teams, who are probably on TS, Vent or such. That is extremely not fun :/
2- When will spectator mode come out?
New guys joining sPvP for the first time get destroyed by more experienced players in Hot Join, and they feel discouraged. A spectator mode would help them learn to use their classes, and learn how to counter their enemies.

This game won’t be an esport for sure. Gw2 so far has done everything wrong to be an esport.
It can become a good pvp game with some money rewards for sure, but not as big as an esport is.

The game is pretty much dead. Atm in europe (14.00):
- 3 round dont pop
- Only 15 of 325 hot join servers are being used. That’s a 4,6%. And half of this servers have 2 people. (So that makes a 2-3%)
The 999999 thread complaining about the lack of solo queue, and still no official word from anet
I do think nodes with a hole would be interesting, they would counter bad eles easily, giving importance to dodges & stability builds
Id rather see a a node where you could knockback enemies down a hole or smthg
Downside: players would be even more restricted with what weapons they can bring.
Engineers could no longer play p/p
Mesmers have to bring a greatsword
Elementalists would have to use a staff? Maybe they could get away with /d

A big problem currently is that the viable builds are also ones which are able to support themselves. That is, they don’t require another team mate in order to be effective. For these same reasons warriors and necromancers aren’t desirable, since the hold handing isn’t worth it when a perfectly fine replacement can be used.
In other words, the complexity and coordination that would be involved in a small scale team death match (ie. 2v2/3v3) wouldn’t be a very sustainable spectator sport, and would be fairly boring to play as well.
If the independence of certain professions/builds was nerfed, then we might see a bit more interesting fights. Regardless of whether or not arena is ever implemented, it’ll definitely improve conquest.
Once they implement custom matches, depending on how it is done, at the very least we’ll probably see some player hosted arenas. For the near future, that’s all anyone can really expect. ArenaNet is incredibly hesitant to add anything other than Conquest (for the wrong reasons imo).
On a related note, I’d be interesting to see the sort of meta that TDM creates. Condition Necromancers are really similar to WoW Affliction Warlocks, yet warlocks are (at least when I played) one of the most desirable casters in the game. Yet they were immobile and required constant support from the team. Just like necromancers. Maybe the fact that there’s really no solid peeling class? or maybe it’s just not worth the effort when the fight takes place over a node? Just some thoughts.

Then something else, but you get the point. We need something to separate rewards between the tiers. Your MMR in itself is 1 incentive, but seeing Cognito the thief in Gear that looks like it was molded to his body by an alien life form, that will really push your motivation up another notch. Right now, basically you can be a terrible player at the bottom of the MMR and beating other terrible teams and still get geared out. Gear is far less important than the MMR rating, but just another little thing to add to it all.
I would add a coefficient (k) multiplicating to the rank/glory points players gain.
Rank/Glory points = k * PointsWeGetNow
Top 1 player in the ladder could have a k=2 and worst player a k=1
All the other range of players could be between those values.
The pros:
- Rank is not a hotjoin grind anymore
- Good beginner players have a way to reach other players that have been pvping since launch
- r40-80 are a pain to level, it would be awesome to see the rank points gain increased
