Downed state balances glass canon builds. If it didnt exist, glass thiefs, for example, would be insanely overpowered.
It also adds depth and makes some utilities useful (rez,stability,immunity) that otherwise wouldn’t be used.
Imo, the pvp in this game would be boring without downed state

Quickness was nerfed for a reason, and that reason wasn’t forcing everyone to spend 20 points in a trait line

No skill in the game should be unblockable. It was not a nerf but a fix. Deal with it.

Right now we’re thinking this ability will go back to being unblockable, as will Currupt Boons. We still want you to need LOS to your target, however. We want these skills to have fun back/forth play on them, while being fair for both sides (the attacker and defender). Keep in mind, these abilities can still be evaded.

I remember when I quit gw2 for 1 month I lost all my mmr, so yes. (there wasnt any reset)
Please someone enlighten me on how can spectator mode/custom arenas be on higher priority than splitting solo queue from premade queue, tweeking mmr and a punishment system for leavers?
This is a game, its meant to have fun, and right now 60/70% of the games are not enjoyable and are just… frustrating! So whats the point of releasing a spectator mode? So we can watch others NOT having fun? Custom servers i can understand but, in my opinion, its still not as urgent as tweeking the current tournament system.
The amount of premades you face while pugging is TOO kitten HIGH! Your mmr formula is too volatile, a ransacker premade that lost 5 games in a row can easily be matched against a pug with rank 5s that won 3/4 games in a row. There is no way to quickly communicate with your team , quick commands like “x requests aid at the altar!”. When you loose a game you never get that “we did our best!” feeling. Its always “kitten this they’re premade”, “kitten this they’re full ransackers”, “kitten this we were just 4”…
And what worries me the most is that you only make updates of this stuff once every month, and since its not coming in the next patch, we’re likely to have another month and half of this! And this is assuming Spectator mode and CA are on this patch(the first mention of CA dates back to october, its been 6/7 months!)…
So i would really love an explanation on why spectator mode and CA are higher priority. Am i missing something?

Hello, me and one friend were 146 and 147 rank. He was 146, I was 147.
We played 2 games together and we won both games. After them, in the first leaderboard update, I am 102 and he is 111.
Can someone explain this?

There are actually many strategies. You will only see them past 400 rank position, though. yeah, elo hell is all about spaming pve rotations to moving targets

Buying a good mouse (80$is reasonable price)that last you for 2 years still cheaper than buying a crap mouse (15$) every 3 months.
I thought such a poor mechanic (salvaging) didn’t have place in a not f2p mmo and it would be gone before release

2) implement soloq & soloq ladders
3) add a daily/weekly tournament
4) add skins that require skill to get (ladder rank? daily/weekly tournaments?)
5) add fun to play game mode, just a spinoff from conquest or deathmatch

As we have stated many times we have tried many modes and there is a reason we ended up where we did. This is not to say we will not introduce new modes at some point, however a few notes on death match.
1) You can obviously have it without a healer.
2) Even games people consider to be DM have tons of secondary objectives (Quake 3, counter strike, Starcraft, etc.)
3) Objective based games tend to be both more total noob friendly AND more esport observer friendly as players/watchers can go/look at where the action will likely be.Deathmatch without other objectives lacks things like a reason to engage, a way to break stalemates, and a tie breaker. It also creates much wider blowouts when someone on your team doesn’t know what they are doing (does this ever happen to you that you get a clueless teammate? Heh)
Hopefully that clears up some of our reasoning for future discussions.

2 months ago , top teams where yelling at the company that paid ques where too long (10-30 min) just to face the same team over and over again .
That why they removed them .
The same will happen if they split them againThey are facing 2 options here:
a) Split the ques
Once again the top teams moaning that there are not enought teams . Top teams will go on hiatus once again .
But they need top teams , so they can check the <<meta>>Or b) Try to please the Top teams first – keep them ingame , while giving some time to create Specter mode +Custom Arenas .
Also <<force>> new teams to be created (they cant make new outfits-too costly) , neither can offer gems – but create a carrot of the stick with the ingame Leaderborard
Not true. Top teams dont fight soloqueuers because of the MMR, so the queues will be the same.
Also, soloq would bring more players to the game (lots of new players) and it would make queues shorter.
Soloq should be priority 1

We only have 8 classes, why is there only 1-2 /viable/ builds per? Its boring. Other games add more and more and this one only seems to take away. This game was better in BETA. It has just got worse since.

Renewing stamina has already been nerfed and it’s not the real problem. Most of the vigor comes from cantrips since a bunker plays with <8% crit chance.
Also, nerf renewing stamina and eles will pick final shielding instead. Doesnt change much.

They can’t maintain perma either if you nerf cantrips trait. If you nerf renewing stamina you also hurt dps builds.

Armor of Earth isn’t OP itself. It’s the traits that buff it insanely (Vigor,Regen,Condi-Remove, cd-reduction). Compare it to Guardians “Stand your Ground”: 24 cd for 6 sec retaliation and stability, plus 2 condi-remove, which turn into boons.
its not op even with the boons from cantrips traits..i hink you miss the point with ele.
The problem imo at the moment is simple.Pick whatever you want to do.

Try and find the best trait lines and you ll end up with arcana and water.Water not only provides survivability which an ele needs but also provides damage which is ..almost comparable in what you get to go 10=20 trait points in fire air instead. :O
Arcana is just a constant for any ele build..simply put.. every 5skill set of each attunement alone is weak compared to other classes weapons.16 sec attunement switch means that you spent an awfull time stuck with 1 set plus you lose a huge uptime of boons that a 13-17k ele seriously needs.Be it regen or protection it simply doesnt make sence to make an ele build without them..
If they nerf the water,arcana traits at this point it will just make ele a chore to play.
Caue after all there would be still absolutely no point picking any other traitline.If these anomaly in the trait lines dissapear then you would see the problem fixing its self.For example buffing fire and reducing damage from water line would make hybrid eles wanna lose survivability to achieve desirable dps and the bunker unable to kill anyone(far problem solved).And all that WITHOUT any nerf in defence and healing

ranking is based on your whole account. Dont worry about previous bad stats, you can get into the best positions really fast if you are good enough (and play with a team).
Without a team it’s hard getting past #200

Alright, id like to talk about the build diversity. Im a dps ele but I also play cantrips when my team tells me:
Right now there are only 2 viable specs:
- cantrips: very overpowered, doesnt matter if you make mistakes you wont die 1v1. However in 2v1 its not as strong as it was back in january and 2 good players can get you down. But obv forcing the 2v1 is too much so cantrips should be nerfed
- arcane dps: well build, with a lot of risk comes good damage. I dont have much to say about this one, just that in order to survive you will need all of your heals and it wont be easy. Nerfing the heals would kill this build that relies on them to survive (just like shatter mesmer relies on distorsion and thief on invisibility). Dont forget eles have light armor and around 13k hp. If healing is nerfed without any other boost, every ele will have to play cantrip tank or reroll to another class.
Non viable builds and why:
- conjured weapons: they are big time useless. Although I like the design, the problem is that no conjured weapon is better than your attunements. Also id like to add that when staff air 5 was fixed, devs forgot to do the same on lightning hammer (has same skill). They could be improved in very different ways: fix the buged skills, remove the useless ones (there are many), make them field+finisher based, boost the damage, make them work like kits…
- signets: some of them are good. The problem is you have to spend 30 points in a kitten trait line (earth) to make them work (written in stone). Spending 30 in earth means you will have just-ok healing (ev arcana + 10 water) and 0 damage (less than tanky ele being squishier)
- glyphs: they are just bad. Storm glyph and the condition glyph are useless. The small pet is meh (low damage and very easy to kill) and the rezz glyph cast is way too long. Also its abilities on attunement dont work. Glyph skills so bad that too many changes should happen to make them playable.
On weapons:
Scepter and dagger main hands are good. Scepter fire 2 and scepter water 2 should be reworked imo.
Staff: fun concept but weak. Weak because it will never have the mobility dagger offers and you are forced to stay in one point. Other classes can make this job way better. Also, what happened to unsteady ground (earth 4)? It was very useful and fun back in the betas, but it was nerfed so much it’s now useless.
Dagger off hand: very strong. Good mobility, good damage, good healing, good condi removal, and also has an aura.
Focus: the worst weapon. Useless in everything. It has some skills that are a bad joke.
- Flamewall: small not instant fire field. (dagger has a big, instant fire field that also deals damage on cast).
- Freezing gust: You have to cast a chill. (dagger has an instant aura that will chill on hit and you receive -10% damage. It can also be traited to give fury).
- Comet: It would be nice if it knockbacked the foe or if it was instant. But a daze that has to be casted is meh. (dagger has a 3k heal that removes 1 condi)
- Swirling winds: It should be an air field for sure. Also, its duration/casttime/radius could be improved. (dagger has Ride the lighting, self explanatory).
- Gale: You have to cast a knockback (dagger has updraft, instant knockback that gives you swiftness)
- Earth attunement is fine.

Glory ranks actually DO make a difference. A brand new player, no matter how skilled, will not know as much about the maps, tactics, all of the other builds of the other classes, how to counter them.
I completely agree that someone can be rank 40 and not be as good as someone who is rank 5-6 and took the time to actually pay attention…
But more often than not, I think you’ll find that the higher of a rank someone is, the more likely they will understand more of the tactics utilized in the game. It’s not a set in stone rule so much as a base guideline, and I feel like if you use that guide, it’s better than not having any calculation at all.
With regards to the rest of the OP’s statements – I do not agree that solo queue and team queue should be separated. It causes too many other problems. I solo queue a lot – what I end up doing is if I run into someone good while I’m in a match, I ask them to queue with me. Eventually, you start building up a group of people on your friends list that you know are good. If you’re set on winning every single match, just invite them. It’s not that hard. The game isn’t complex enough to require voice chat. You can get by without it and do just fine.
Just a suggestion to make solo queuing a little more bearable
Id say anyone that has a class champion title should be elegible for high rated tournaments if he has enough mmr. This game pvp will never grow if you make new good players fight rank 1-39 for 5 months. They will go back to insert random moba
