Moa racing should be like FFVII’s Chocobo racing, take part or place bets, would be cool.
Game over
The weapon skins are cool and unique but if this stays around they will quickly become tired and boring, fewer is better imo, and I dont have 1 yet.
OP likes to sell his skins for a much higher price..
as in now, everyone can get the skins they want by themself without any gating..
so it only make sense to make gates for those skin prices to go up..
otherwise it will only plunge further..a) So far out of 30 chests, I’ve not had any weapon skins drop from the chests. So nice try with that trolling.
b) What are you even talking about? I’m not talking about gating ANYTHING that you experience in a NORMAL WAY. Making a character, killing 2 bosses, and then deleting the character is NOT a normal way for me to play a game.
c) If Anet DOES add 24 hour wait time for NEWLY CREATED characters to access the SAB, all your current characters can STILL get all the baubles they want, to trade with Moto to get any skin (or other item they want).
d) You do realize there are bound and NON-bound skins?
Fixed… can you spot it?
I am so glad that this thread was made.
My Old… thread:

So where is the purple in zone 1?
Once Arenanet said that if you can play gw1 on high you could pobably play gw2.
That quickly changed though…
Dont they drop from the orrian boxes you get for kama in orr?
It didn’t apply to items from token dungeon vendors.
Ahhh then nothing to see here lol
/thread
So weapons sold by vendors are no longer salvagable..
Oh well there goes my ecto income lol
Whats everyones thoughts on this?
thanks for the replies!
Assume im sourcing all mats direct from the tp, im guessing buying up sell orders is bad bussiness?
As the title says, is there a solid way to turn crafting into an income?
Craft some knights draconic, or buy some on tp.
And my sin says catch me if you can….
Dragon = Giant Pinata
The farming of mats etc is what made perfect sense above everything else.
Drop rates on mats are pathetic, infact drop rates on everything are pathetic tbh.
I would never of bought it in the first place..
Crazy as it is, everything you said andrew…. made perfect sense…
and I agree…
The game is great I will admit but it is quite simply way too easy I find myself hardly needing to pay attention to play.
With that being said, instead of nerfing all the loots just make stuff harder and more rewarding.
On that note, I find myself taking a fair amount of time to kill a champion simply to get terrible loot. Why not add veteran slayer? Champion slayer? Better loot?
The game is fun, yes . But it’s way too simplified. I understand they want everyone to be able to play but what about us hardcore gamers? We can play this with our eyes closed.
To conclude I will just say where’s hard mode? Or just a harder island maybe where you can’t enter without a certain gear level.
-thanks, NickThe 1% hardcore public is negligable in terms of revenue. You are not relevant for the development of the game, nor should you be. The game was marketed as a game for people who can’t and won’t be hardcore. You knew that before you bought it.
It’s like buying a ferrari and complaining it’s not as slow and ugly as a peugeot. Yes, I consider casual games superior to hardcore games.
There is already way too much content catered to casuals, most casuals will struggle to do everything in the game now, which means the devs have plenty of opportunity to cater for the hardcore players.
Sadly any end game contnt that is made harder will result in 1 thing, a zerg fest, simple.
Instanced area’s are the only way to control how many people fight at a time and make fights as difficult as they should be,
But im not going to suggest that as everytime I do I get shot down..
Another noob….
Where do people get the idea they have to address themselves as noobs on forums because they are new….
Really welcome to the game, enjoy
I am currently doing world exploration and there is nothing worse than going back to an area im glad to see the back of tbh,
I want mystic coins and karma as its my lvl 40 alt im doing it on,
So most days it is rather annoying I have to either bin my world exploration or my daily due to my limited playing time due to my family.
But I accept that the daily should not be handed on a plate easily, im rewarded either way.
heavy kurzik elite was my fave.
@KratosAngel.7289
I mean pre patch notes here:
They only release update content notes on there, not patch notes, the patch fixes and balances things and has never been posted on there prior to release.
Also, some items can be salvaged for raw materials used in crafting.
These are usually worn garments or hides, use a crude salvage kit on them.
Dont address yourself as a “Dumb Newbie” everybody is equal.
<- goes buying ectos before the price rise up
everybody will do this so the market will be even more flooded with ecto’s after the change.
I agree, and the drop rate on mats isnt exactly brilliant to start with.
Hello.
I’m at 25/30 in Hall of Monuments, and I need some help to get the last 5 points to get to 30!
Do anyone got any tip with what I can do? I know I should get the last remaining Hero Armour pieces for my heroes, but what else can I do?
I don’t really have any friends playing the game, and I got no clue on how to ‘farm’ platinum, that said, I got almost like no platinum at all.
Thanks.
Grab a rit spirit spam setup, if you have factions farm jaya bluffs, kill every bird on the map, salvage scalps, sell feathers, keching!
Edit: make a spirit spam if you have factions lol
Gw2 also has 6 times the manpower that GW1 had behind it. Or are we going to sweep that under the rug here.
All right, then pray tell, what should the effect be on the game? Six times as much content? Six times as good? Four? How about two? If a game company can be several times as big as another one, does that mean they must be better? Does that mean a game produced almost solely by one person isn’t going to be any good while a large company will produce nothing but awesomeness? So does that mean games made by almost a single person (“Cave Story”, “Akalabeth”) are junk? Or the reverse, and games made by hundreds of people are junk?
How about if we change that to “development time”? If a game is in development for longer periods (say, six years), does that mean it’s better or worse than a game which was in development for one year? I mean, by that logic, Duke Nukem Forever should have been the most awesome game ever . . .
What about survival time? If a game is alive and still played for longer, does that make it better? Pong should be godly then . . .
So, anyway, on topic.
Comparing GW1 and GW2 is comparing apples and peaches. (Not oranges, because seriously, I hate oranges.) They’re both different games in many very real aspects, but just happen to be both from a tree.
Name alone its the same tree, which is why people are sad its a million miles away fom gw1.
Question of my own to add to Tribble’s..
Is the DR on dungeon drops etc also character based or account based?
This game has no gear progression. That is a good thing.
Hardcore players who focus on skill don’t want gear progression. They want progression in the form of skill and teamwork, and skins to show for it without giving themselves a stat advantage.
Hardcore players who want gear progression to mask their lack of skill are no-lifers. They have other games that cater to their gameplay style, and should play those.
GW2 does not have gear progression and does not give an advantage to those who spend 16 hours a day playing every day of the year.
That is why it’s so popular with both casuals who don’t have the time, and hardcores who think skill is more important than time spent.
And for the OP to say the player base will radically decline if this isnt added more is pure nonsense, just look at GW1 that did not have vertical gear progression and people still play it now.
He said he wanted to take his time and have laughs along the way, not power level to 80,
good idea OP hope you have fun.
I said before these guys need a 1 hit kill in a 800 meter radius or something, anything to make em at least a bit scary to a zerg
Anyone who uses Laurels to buy rings is insane! ( use the laurels for bracelet or earnings only. I have 10 rings sitting in my bank… my alts have all the rings i want.. i got them all from doing FOTM level 10-20 daily and they are pretty easy to do! and cost zero laurels.. i get them FREE.. and if i dont get them i still get a token that when i save 10 of them i can just buy a ring with Fractel relic tokens
If you want to save your laurels they maybe releasing a set or ARMORE and Weapons that require laurels. but who knows when they will be released.
Maybe in the juicy update later this month?
And why a big rush to buy now? I dont do fracals or pvp…
I would advise against buying an ascended ring with laurels. For five more laurels and 40 globs of ectoplasm you can get an accessory. Do 10 daily fotm for your ring
Yeah makes sense, but my question is, is it sensible buying these now when the next tier wont be too far away?
I dont do any activities that require these at the moment so would it be wise to hold off and save?
CoF path 1.
each run takes 5-20 minutes and gives you about 1 level.
This I got from 75 – 80 in 2 days doing this. and it paid for my draconic armor.
They should have a bidding system like ebay lol
Hi all
I was thinking of pickingup an ascended ring next month when I get enough laurels, but then I had a thought, A-Net will likely release a new tier of gear before too long and with all the currencies we currently have chances are they will require the same.
So would it be a good idea to hold off and save more and wait for the next tier?
Take in mind I dont doalot of pvp and havnt even entered fractals yet.
As someone who farmed these feathered beauties for years I have to say I would be gutted not to see my old friends again.
FOW reborn.. with the same challenge level as the original, so none of this faceroll rubbish…
In my opinion
GW2 graphics and soundtrack are true masterwork, but being pulled in here by some marketing tricks and wake up in a game with:
- no build crafting
- no second profession
- no body block
- no energy management
- AOE cap
- Stealth (bleh)
- no counter to stealth (double bleh)
- stealth with no counter in a game suffering from culling problems (huge bleh)
- mesmer, one of the most original class in gw1 turned into a crude pet spammer
- ranger stuck with a kittened pet
- skills lag, culling
- lack of optimization (you need a kitten good pc to run the game smoothly)
- only 2 pvp mode with one affected by gear treadmillsSo yeah… just bleh.
You forgot PvE you can sleepwalk through
25 missions that were great played with others.
No marketplace, Nothing like a hard day farming then off to sell your wears and relax for a bit.
Farming, nuff said.
Someone mentioned droks run, challenging runs were fntastic content in themselves.
Yeah it had bad things but so many good things got thrown out for gw2.
Not just that but the difficulty of the content once you hit 80 is a bit meh too.
The fact that almost 99% of PvE content is a facerole IS a problem.
You have to go 10 levels above to get those holy crap fights, and once you hit 80 all open world content is just a joke really…
I wander if OP would get this upset at lions arch overflow, afterall its his/her server right?
Alot of goldsink talk here, explain why a gold sink is important?
Or Anet could take a little bit of time to actually organise the list of armors into catagories?
Seems lazy that they are not already.
The main difference between GW1 and GW2 is that in GW1 you could do everything solo, but it was a lot easier in a guild. In GW2 you are not forced into playing with others and groups, but you still can do it.
Main thing to do is to find what your interest in doing is. Do you like dungeons? then join a dungeon orientated guild. Do you like WvWvW? then find a WvWvW orientated guild. Do you like cleaning and completing maps? find a guild that does that a lot. Every element in the game can be done with others. You don’t have to solo (ok ok except crafting).
Maybe the fact they changed that for GW2 is part of the problem..
Its hard to make memories when you get slapped on the wrist for staying in 1 place too long
Its just not the same without a purpose
