If you’re looking for a bit bigger and more veteran experience, consider [VZ].
We’re primarily an EST timezone guild on the Stormbluff Isle server, and we focus primarily in end-game content. I am a commander and I lead in WvW periodically, I run fractals at the highest possible level (and many others in the guild do as well), and we run dungeons every night. We also do guild bounties every Wednesday night and are nearly at Treks (only one more upgrade!), meaning you can get your guild commendations for ascended gear with us. We welcome newer players and are more than happy to answer any questions you might have along the way. We’re primarily looking for players willing to do end-game content with us, though, so if you want to get in on that stuff then it sounds like a good match.
If this sounds like a good fit, read more about us in the link in my signature, and fire me an in-game message (or contact me on the forums or whatever suits you). I’ll get back to you and we can see what’s up.
Regardless, good luck finding what you’re looking for. It means a lot in a game like this.

Imagine if Fractals had only been around for the month of November.
No, please let jump puzzle players have something to enjoy all year around that is actually rewarding. Keep the SAB in for good.
Imagine if Fractals had only been around for November.
No, please let me continue doing fun jumping content that is rewarding all year long. There is literally nothing else in the game that satisfies the jumper in me quite like this instance.
There is a reason why, when teaching a class, a good teacher often teaches the harder, more thorough, derivation first, and then the shortcut after. The longer derivation is informative as to why the shorter derivation makes sense. Your analogy is off-base. Anyway, I’m not about to argue this any longer with someone on the internet; it is off-topic and irrelevant. Have a good day.
It is purposefully capped. You cannot do even levels above 48.
This is the end.
You have no chance to survive make your time.
Ha ha ha ha.
RYTLOCK BRIMSTONE???
STOP THE GRAPHICS!
People are probably taking this opportunity to unload their stocks for a hefty profit. Either that, or maybe this topic has inspired some would-be farmers to waste their time. Otherwise, nothing has really happened ANet-side that would drop the demand or increase the supply significantly.
Most certainly not jumping the shark. This is, perhaps, their greatest patch yet. I was disappointed with the Feb/Mar patches, but let me tell you just how great this little event has been for me.
This would truly be some TRON-level content; they could have things like “Collect the Bauble” in it and whoever gets the most baubles in a time period gets a buff for awhile. I’d play that.
You want fast? You can craft yourself from 1 to 80 in as fast as you can have the mats and click the buttons (a few hours). Costs gold, but if you want L80 yesterday, it’s a serious option to consider.
Now that you’ve gotten them all to 80, it’s time to do L80 content with them!
I, personally, use different characters for specific different parts of the game. For instance, my Warrior is my Commander, my Necromancer is my Fractal runner, my Guardian is my dungeon runner, my Ranger is my farmer for certain things, and so forth. That sort of role specificity has helped keep the game fun for someone with so many alts, and it helps keep me from being screwed by character-bound things like Fractal level and WXP.
Kinda sounds like the TV Show “Touch”. So you’re saying these “15 Charr” are the ones who bring balance to the forums?
Sounds more like a so-bad-its-good parody of the three wise men!
Yes, it’s amazing how two derivations of the same thing result in the same conclusion. It’s good to know that math works; thanks for your insight.
I can’t speak to what has or has not been done in the past, but I have just started to improve WvW and I hope you can all provide me the benefit of the doubt. For at least one build, then you can return to the gnashing of teeth as usual.
You have until May 1st to solve world hunger (and other WvW problems), then ye’ shall be thrown to the sharks like all the rest of ’em before you.
You could just have said that 3 fractals out of 8 make 37.5%.
Technically it’s not “3 out of 8”, though, because the one you finish first is removed for your next choice. So really, it is closer to “1 in 8, then 1 in 7, then 1 in 6”, but the correct math shows that numerically the chances are, conveniently, equal to 3 in 8. I specified the expanded math because it is technically more correct and being an engineer, I was compelled to do so.
Can’t you just zig-zag all arrows when at range?
Yes, but depending on when he fires in your zig-zag he can still hit you. You also can never guarantee the quality of player you get in a public group, so the fewer arrows a player has to dodge, the better.
Agree with this suggestion! Please as to be having this! <3
Yes. Just extra achievement points.
I soloed the entire thing in the hardest possible configuration. Totally awesome, and totally preferable to having to wait for other players not used to my speed!
In my opinion, having a good player melee the boss is great to keep him spamming those lethal PBAOE skills and not shooting his arrows at players. I don’t recommend such a job on high level fractals to anyone not particularly skilled at meleeing otherwise immensely perilous bosses, but if you’re good at it, Godspeed and I’d run with you any day.
Yeah, it really does. It’s a stellar piece and I was laughing hysterically for the better part of ten minutes from it! This sort of stuff is why I’ve loved ANet for now going on 8 years, and you should totally keep doing more like it!
I’ve shown this before, but statistically speaking, the chance of getting a specific fractal in any given run is:
(1/8) + (7/8 * 1/7) + (7/8 * 6/7 * 1/6) = 0.375 = 37.5%
So, in essence, the chance of seeing any given fractal of the 8 available (not including the jade ocean, which is the 9th) is over 1 in 3. That should hopefully show you that what you are seeing “I always seem to get this one fractal!” is actually not that unlikely.
Let me guess, Josh Foreman was the man wearing it!
What I would have LOVED to see are Chickens that would mob you upon harassment
This is actually already in-game at Ebonhawke with the chickens. Furthermore, in the SAB, there is the bunnynado in World 1-2 that attacks you if you kill all the bunnies.
You only have to pick 4 of the listed options to achieve your monthly. Don’t do this one if you don’t want to!
Now display the title with pride! Alas, I must work at my full-time job and cannot grind it out in a day, so I will simply have to do it over the course of a week. ;-;
I actually turned on my music for the work of auditory art that is the character select screen in 8-bit. It’s that good.
Bumping this up for the new week! Always looking for more interested players!
I’m 25 and I love this game more with every patch.
These are different. They’re the same skins, but you get them from the end-of-level chests as a possible looted drop. As more of these enter the market over the course of the month, the value will plummet.
- New content brings players back to the game.
- Platforming jump puzzles have, at large, been way more popular than ANet ever anticipated, and a huge group of players within the game have been clamoring for something like this for a long time. There has also been overwhelming support for adding more to SAB down the road. This is a great addition to GW2 because it makes lots of players happy and is a lot of fun for a lot of players.
- This was done by a different team than the teams that do everything else. It has not detracted from changes made elsewhere in GW2.
- You will still get your real-life-tyria patch at the end of April with other cool stuff that addresses your other concerns such as PvP, PvE, and WvW. Colin confirmed this in another thread.
- The team that did this was incredibly small according to Josh, a member of the team. ANet is spending very little in the way of resources on this project, and yet it has made lots of people very happy. That it has had an overwhelming amount of support may mean the team will grow for the future, and IMO that’s great.
Thanks, Anthony! We really appreciate it!
While you’re at it, you might also look into the fact that random players can also reset Alder Wildman in SSC by killing the karka he’s inside. Fortunately, no one likes that zone and killing karka is terribly unrewarding, so this is much less common an occurrence. Still, it has happened to me at least once.
Maybe this is intentional to make zone 3 a true nightmare for people going for bauble completion, but whenever your character gets stuck in sticky grass or eaten by a flytrap, any key you were carrying gets devoured by the plant/grass. I presume this is a bug because it is terrible, so if it is would you please be so kind as to fix it!
Much love otherwise!
We had events in GW1 where frogs talked to us, rabbits sold us booze, we gambled with Canthans, we stood in rings for hours on end to win tokens and chat, we ran around in circles as beetles, and so much more. ANet has 99% of its fans because it makes crazy, off-the-wall, amazing, and totally irrelevant content like this. The super adventure box might not be for you, but ANet is giving enjoyable content for all walks of life; you will still get your exciting real-tyrian patches, but thankfully ANet also gives crazies like myself patches that include things like the super adventure box.
If there were a “Donate Gems to expanding the Super Adventure Box” option in the gem store with absolutely nothing else attached to it, you best believe I’d send them swaths of money.
I pray ANet never stops doing this sort of thing (and expanding on it).
I have a few questions and a suggestion to improve the quality of life of trying to find every bauble ikittenone. First of all, I think the answer to the following questions is “No” (or at least I hope so), but I want something from a developer. The FAQ answers most questions about digging / pots / monsters not counting for baubles, but there are two specific cases I’m unsure about:
- Do the Baubles that Dogbees carry when they lead you to the Queen Dogbee count for the Bauble achievement?
- Do the Baubles that you get from the honeycomb after the Queen Bee count for the Bauble achievement?
- Do baubles in hidden rooms count for the Bauble achievement?
The first question is not obvious to me because you physically see the baubles they carry, so I’m not sure if you have to race and kill/collect or if that counts as a “monster drop” and thus doesn’t count. The second question is tough for me too, because they look like they could be considered a “chest” of sorts, so I’m not sure. I think the answer to the last question is “Yes”, but I’m not sure if hidden rooms count as part of the zone or if they’re an extra place of sorts.
Anyway, onto the suggestion:
- Add a counter to the event text in the top right of your screen for how many baubles you have found over how many you need.
So this would show something like 28/35 or whatever for a particular zone. This way we know how many to look for, and more importantly, when we have missed any and how many we’ve missed. This can be very valuable information that doesn’t detract from the challenge, so I think it’d be good to provide. Thanks!
We definitely want it to remain challenging, but I also agree that it’s an issue that any person can break the barrel and reset him, as opposed to the other Bounty Hunt targets who can only be activated by guild members without additional mechanic. I think that perhaps even this small change might make him a lot easier to find.
I think this is the biggest concern for me, too. Sotzz is a particularly annoying bounty; he’s not challenging, just frustrating. There’s a distinction there that must be kept in mind. Random people exploring the zone at the same time as your group, while scouting, can break the barrel, say nothing, and since his reset timer is so short, he will reset somewhere else potentially invalidating the entire search you’ve done up to that point.
My solution is as follows:
- Barrels cannot be broken except by players from a guild which has Sotzz as a target
- Sotzz’ respawn timer get made ~10 minutes instead of the ~1-2 minutes it is now
This would make Sotzz a much more palatable target without invalidating the unique challenge associated with him. It would also give your guild a change to congregate before activating him once found instead of how it is now, where whoever finds him has to activate him immediately and run around in circles until the rest of the guild can get there.
Glad to hear the locking change wasn’t accidental, though I must admit that it makes things marginally more difficult.
I posted in the other thread, but I think the 1 minute reset time for Sotzz is very punishing. It’s not enough time for a guild to link it in guild chat and for everyone to load in before he resets. I think he should reset after something like 10 minutes, instead.
A more preferable alternative, in my opinion, would be to make him more like Alder “Wildman”, which is to say you would be able to tell which barrel he’s in without destroying it (and thus activating his reset timer). In this way, you could still bring people together before activating the boss and risking him resetting.
Only one minute? I got him in a bounty last night and we couldn’t even gather the entire guild together before he respawned somewhere else. We had to resort to activating him as soon as we saw him and kiting him until the cavalry could arrive. You should really extend his standing time a bit.
Anthony, I think you may be omitting certain truths! Try the following and you, too, will see the changes!
- All targets no longer stop when you talk to them, preventing you from holding them at a location.
- Targets that are acquired by interacting with an object, like Sotzz and breaking his barrels, now reset after ~1m or so from when they are released, preventing you from scouting them entirely.

This brings up an important question… How does a god of order, law, knowledge, truth, and spirit become associated with booze? I guess the more you drink the more your inclined to tell the truth.
Au contraire, good sir. You need to drink in order to liken her as a God in the first place.
2 from bounties and 1 from rushes for a total of 3. I don’t think any guild has gotten challenges or puzzles yet, and so we don’t know what those offer.
If you did your level 10 before reset, you would be awarded with another chest, yes. Your first chest was the 2-9 chest, and your second would be from 10-19.
They are scaled to your level if memory serves.
That player is in the T4 match-up.
Some of them can be in very obscure locations you would doubtfully ever find playing the game regularly. Some zones have one, some have none, and some have more than one. I recommend looking up their starting locations online (such as on the wiki) and then exploring them on your own. It makes the experience much more rewarding that way.
Previously, Necromancer Staff 1 was very loud, now it has been tuned down to a more reasonable level compared to other in-game sounds. Furthermore, the new GUI for Death Shroud is indeed an improvement because now you can see your conditions, boons, HP, endurance, and more while in the transformation.
All sigils share cooldowns, so make sure you don’t have another sigil that uses a cooldown conflicting with it. I was using this very sigil just last night and it was working fine.
Do you really want us to tryhard wvw all week, pop up wps in all your keeps, and camp you at spawn? Personally, I think that sounds a lot more boring for all of us. Keep going on thinking you’re a special flower though.
In my opinion, if you can do it, do it. Then again, the opinion that matters in response to your question is your servers’, not mine.
