What really grinds my gears...

Well given I generally expected a lot better players in ranked, I can only assume that majority of people think the same and given that your rank never resets, they don’t want to start off on the wrong foot. At least that’s how I felt. Thus the 400 games prior feeling at least average and not completely useless.

After that miserable launch I got my guildies and we made 5-6 wins in a row. 3 of those games were against other teams and we completely steamrolled them.

But yeah it took me 400 matches to feel comfortable to try for leaderboard.
Must say, I’ve seen better players in unranked. Granted its not all black and white, some people really do start in unranked and they are quite bad but you can’t really blame them. We’ve all been there.

Leaderboards don’t work and are in a worse position compared to previous iterations. I mean come on look at the top 25 or whatever and you can easily tell it’s just whoever plays the most is in the top

As of the demo, you can toggle the revenant blindfold off like any other headgear, was not able to see if any other headgear can be used though.

So after being one of the first common players in the world to experience HoT… Your main reveal is that the toggleable headpiece is toggleable.

My mind has been blown.

The game is a dress up game why is this a shocker.

These are things I do.

I don’t get why people find this interesting or fun. You mean following the big zerg blob from one event to the next? This is probably the most mind numbingly boring aspect of the game

Sadly the players that need to read this don’t bother with the forums. Most people that play seem to have tunnel vision and treat conquest as deathmatch, for example 3 people chasing 1 person off point while we get 2 capped

Still shouldn’t be a thing. In cs go after everyone accepts the ready check and while the game is in the waiting period if all players aren’t present then the match doesn’t start and all players are free to leave without penalty. Oh and the player that didn’t join gets banned for X amount of hours

Calling oRNG underdogs is quite the stretch my friend. They are one of the best teams in EU and they are trading blows with other great EU teams. The competition is stronger in EU and thus the players have better training field.

In every sport you need a good competition to constantly outdo yourself.

Half of them were at the previous WTS, so they’ve got the experience too.

I meant as in most people expected the na team to come out on top

i legit have 0 idea how anet thought having a full 5 man premade facing a full pug was a good idea. This is what happens when a full premade faces a full pug(note this was during primetime)

This means that if you have an enemy in the game, your enemy can add you as a friend and then follow you from zone to zone spreading lies about you in mapchat.

So? What’s to stop them from spreading lies in every other map? Unless you like to chat it map chat, in which case other people might join in, why does it matter if they’re spreading lines in the zone you’re in? It’s not like map chat can stop you from doing anything and you can’t see it because you’ve blocked them, right? Just report it, block them and move on. If anything, you complaining about it makes it even more hilarious to them. Either ignore them entirely until they get bored or say something once in map chat after them, like don’t mind <name>, that’s just my pet stalker. Directly replying to them or acknowledging them as a problem however will only fuel them.

Hiding your location from blocked players probably isn’t going to happen. It would be easier to simply remove the location field entirely than having to poll every account’s ignore list every time someone opens their friends/followers list. Even if ignored players couldn’t see your location, what’s to stop them from simply buying a new account or asking someone else?

In the end, if someone really wants to stalk you, and I mean dedicated, they’re going to find you regardless.

I like how people keep trying to bring up “counters” in this thread when others just do not want this build to exist. Look, even if I was most pro player in the world and can beat every turret engineer 100% of the time, this build should still be gutted. It has no business in a pvp environment, a pure auto pilot build that can be run by a bot program and still be effective.

Also alot of “counters” people list are quite laughable even, ranging turrets down with lb as a warrior?.. because those turrets can’t hit you right?.. or the engineer can’t hit you still right?.. and how long will that take?.. the match would be over by the time you destroy all the turrets with your pitiful longbow damage.

First, that’s not even close to how a Hambow kills Turreteers. Secondly, this is a perception issue. You don’t like the AI (semi controlled even), tower defense, “trapping” style of gameplay.

Well, I don’t like instant teleports, high unrealistic mobility, insane burst from auto attacks (via sigils), multiple evade frames built into attacks or stealth. But at least I’m realistic enough to not go around saying “this stuff doesn’t deserve to exist ever” because lets face it. If we ‘gutted’ everything that someone could build a strong argument over for why it shouldn’t belong in PVP there’d be one build and one class.

People overstate the damage and CC factors of Turrets. For example, engineer rifle does 40% of the engineers total damage for example, not many realize this. Or that every CC the turreteer has is triggered, none are passive, but people still think or say it they have too much passive CC. The only truly “passive” cc is if you’re standing DIRECTLY on a turret you kill. But according to everyone, they’re impossible to kill, so you tell me…

It is not a perception issue, this AI isn’t “semi controlled” it is pure auto piloted. Every other competitive pvp games has the player controlling 99% of the AI’s behavior. In guild wars 2, turrets are a place and forget spell, you just place them randomly on and around a point and they will do the work, there is no effort involved. Such a build would of been instantly gutted in any other serious pvp games, either or reworked into something that actually takes more player interaction.

How can you tell it’s a four-man party and not two two-man party? Cause that’s common.

You obivously have no idea what you are talking about.

The GvG scene is massive in both the EU and NA, and it is open field 20 vs. 20 and it works perfectly fine.

How is that gvg? That is a player made conception. Until anet themselves come out and support your zerg vs zerg it will remain so.

I play solo, and I would like to be against other solo teams every time. I don’t want to make organized teams because I can not be bound to other peoples schedule or make them be bound to mine.

That doesn’t stop you from working as a team with random people each game. After all, it’s a team format.

You’re comparing premades that have played with each other many times and have strong communication to a random pug…? I’m not saying that it’s impossible for a PUG to beat a premades but it’s not in their favor

I do couple of matches every night in Ranked and I can tell you that teams are quite balanced.
And there is barely any communication with teammates.
It’s far better than it was before with SoloQ.

I somehow feel that it could be a food for those SoloQ people.

Tho, I can imagine that they’ll start whining about class balances, such as:

- …or I’ll quit!

but it’s going to be rather their problem :x
and rating will work in this place quite flawlessly.

I must have awful luck. I’m constantly getting pitted against friends with full pugs.
I right click them and try to join to see if it’s a pug or premade. This is my average match fun fun….

If the people here whining about this being difficult spent the time to rethink their mistakes on the fight they wouldn’t have issues. Instead they rush to the forums every attempt they get to complain.

RIP mesmers and our crappy stability

Why do you need stability? If you run into the domes that Braham or w/e his name is you gain stability. I did this on my mesmer without much difficulty.

I beat it just fine but as with most of the bosses from this season it brought a feeling of relief rather than a sense of satisfaction.

I have this weird notion that a “boss fight” should involve you fighting a boss, not running an obstacle course to spawn a punching bag.

Seriously, can we stop fighting the darn floor? I’m beginning to think there are no “Bosses” in GW2. Just off switches for aoe with a life bar.

Don’t see the issue with these bosses. This game does not have the holy Trinity so I’m not sure how they would design challenging bosses without mobility/dodge mechanic. It would literally just be a afk auto attack fight

More like you need to find a game that suit your needs better, not every game can be every thing to everyone.

Wildstar tried to cater to the loud hard core players and found out within a few weeks that hardcore actually do not care for challenging content they just want the content that provides the best loot. the truth is the future is not with the “I m leet crowd”.

I mean you can keep fighting against reality but hard content is just a Fancy code word for best loot.

World of Warcraft has content that appeals to a broad spectrum of players. Well if you enjoy running around a static route with an invincible zerg where you can basically get carried good for you. You’re just a hamster on a treadmill

The new system is awful for a player who solo queues. I’m constantly getting matched against players that are partial or full premades while my team is complete randoms. How the hell would anyone think this would be fun? A team that has a strategy and coordination in advance vs a bunch of strangers? The previous system where only solo queued players would face others was better. Now you might say go make a team. Well I login only an hr at a time and my schedule doesn’t line up with others

Confused about living story achievements

The main thing that messes people up on this is that you must first do the episode, then do it again on the same alt to do achievements. So if you have 3 different alts you want to achieve with, each of them must complete the chapter once through sans achieves, then proceed.

In the two most recent chapters, you get little boon icons for the available achieves. So long as the icon is up, you have not failed the achieve (or you have achieved it, but sometimes that won’t kick in until the end of the instance, such as not letting NPC’s die in Caithe’s Reconnaissance).

This is the case then. I have completed the episode on my main but decided to do the achievements on my alt. I must have missed where this was stated because I didn’t see it and it’s very inconvenient

Confused about living story achievements

I’ve decided to work on some of the achievements and notice I am not getting credit for completing them.

First I attempted Dropping like Flies which involves the Concordia Incident mission. I am to make sure no npc falls. I restarted this mission a few times and finally cleared it with no npcs dying during the 1st attack and no achievement popped up…. I made sure no npcs died because there was a ticker on the top right of my screen that showed an increase when a npc fell.

Then I went on to do achievements for the mission Trouble At Fort Salma namely “Timely Arrival” and “Butterflies and Viscera”. I started with Timely Arrival there was a group of npcs being attacked by a few mordrem minions which I fended off easily. One of the npcs were already downed before I got there this was most likely intended because i tried approaching it before the npcs request and the mobs were invulnerable and the npc died right as I zoned in. Then I went to do butterflies where none of morderies minions can die as usual I made sure not to fail this. Completed the mission and no achievement pop ups… Am I missing something here?

This change doesn’t make sense to me. Dailies were fine how they were why waste resources on something that isn’t broken? It’s the same thing that happened with the leveling experience it was fine then they went and changed it for no reason

Haven’t played for like half a year come back 4v5 aren’t happening as much but in place of that it’s just premades stomping solo queue players…

Lately around 7-11est I have been experiencing random lag spikes where I’ll hit a spell and it will take upwards of 2 seconds for it to activate or it just won’t activate at all. This issue only occurs in GW2 other games do not have this issue especially during this time frame. I have run a tracert and posted it below. I ran this tracert during the issue time but it is not completely accurate because it’s tough to have it going at the exact moment I experience the lag spike.
