Nope. Nope nope.
Yeah, you get the other set with your 12k chest. And no, you don’t “choose” it; you just automatically are given the skin you didn’t choose the first time.

Wait, which poi are you talking about? The only poi at the Source of Orr section is the one at the Cathedral of Verdance, which you get just by being at that temple. If you add a screenshot for the one you need, I can probably tell you how to get it.
Some people simply don’t like running the train that much. I really just do it when i need Bloodstone but i also never had the feeling that it was giving that much than what some people are constantly saying,
And Orr is just such a depressing area.
I’m not a huge zerg fan myself, but sometimes I do it if I need to waste time semi-productively in-game. Well, I obviously only have my own experience to base things on. But I find I get more gold, t6 (and t5, which I then sell), and other general drops from the Frostgorge zerg than pretty much anywhere else the game . I definitely get more t6, both from champ bags and as drops off of mobs, than I would solo farming, anyway.
Side note: if you’re on a server that’s good in wvw, that’s a great place to farm heavy loot bags. So, that’s also an option.
(edited by RoseofGilead.8907)
The Frostgorge zerg is honestly a better option for t6 farming right now, unless you’re on a server that regularly zergs in Orr. I usually get a decent chunk of t6 after only an hour in Frostgorge.
If you want to keep with farming in Southsun, you really should do it with a small group of other players. You’ll go through mobs more quickly, which will give you more opportunity for mats.
I’d love to see how the “RP community” would react if they did a gender swap like in GW1. Would there be tears?
Turn it into an opportunity to do something new with your RP.
A class with stability options is really good for AC, especially for path 1. There are gravelings in each path, and gravelings will chain knockdown. However, if you are good with your ele, then you should consider bringing that into AC. Ele conjured weapons, especially ice bow and FGS, are very much wanted in AC runs since they obliterate graveling mounds (things you’ll have to destroy pretty often in AC).
Bringing food that reduces damage (loaf of saffron is the level 80 option) on knockdown/stun is a good idea. Also, most groups will be running past certain groups of mobs in the dungeon, so speed boosts (and invul, in case you run into trouble) are good to have.
I really don’t understand why people expected Anet to repeat the same thing from last year. That’s not dishonesty; that’s truth. I may have phrased my post above badly, though.
1. It first released last April Fools
2. GW1 had several sequential AF gags (The Terminator spoof), so they have a precedent for the content
3. It was ~6 months between World 1 and World 2, it has been ~6 months since that release.
It was released last April Fools, yes. But that doesn’t guarantee that they WILL repeat the same gag. While GW1 had some gags that built on old ones, they had others that did not.
Besides, I know if I were on the dev team, I wouldn’t want to do do what everyone was posting about on a day that’s about pranks and the unexpected.
I’ll be glad if SAB doesn’t come out today because I’d want them to have the next portion finished before releasing, rather than forcing it into the game just because it’s April 1st.
(edited by RoseofGilead.8907)
I really don’t get why so many people were EXPECTING SAB to make an appearance.
No bobblehead for me, either. I has a sad.
Edit: Fully relogging (as in closing the client and then starting again) made it trigger.

As a necro I’ve done the gate controller for p1 a few times. How I’ve done it is by having a power/Death Shroud build. Have dagger in mainhand. Use Blood is Power, Signet of Spite, Well of Suffering, and Flesh Golem. Spawn flesh golem before the gate re-opens, pop BiP as it opens, and have your flesh golem charge the mob once the gate is open. Go into deathshroud and hit the controller with DS 1 as you run in, drop your well, and then switch to dagger to finish. I’ve also tried with using Ghastly Claws (axe 2) as I run in, and then switching to dagger. Both have worked fine for me.
As for the lava run in p2, I’ve never done it on an ele, so I couldn’t say how to really do it. Any character I’ve done it on (necro, warrior, ranger, and guard) just used swiftness and dodging (and condi removal, if needed).
(edited by RoseofGilead.8907)
I actually don’t mind p2 and p3. It’s just that, as others have already said, the bosses have way too much HP. They’re not particularly dangerous, but they take forever to die, no matter what.
There is a 4th giant in Brisban Wildlands, there is an event called “Broken Golem“ and is a pain to solo kill,
I’ve done this event solo a few times. The giant is always a normal mob for me, not a vet, elite, or champ level. It’s down in a few seconds.
I also noticed it. But the good part is you can still dodge it as long as you’re watching for it.
I wouldn’t do the skippable bosses for dragonite ore. I have way too much of it already. :\ Now, if it dropped dragonite ore AND, say, 25 to 50 silver, I’d do them.
The CoF gate chain is easily done with a group of 5; having around 10 for the final part of it would help, but you could manage with less. It just takes a bit of time because of the escort. And as others have said, the full CoE gate chain can be done in about 15 minutes, from start to finish.
I think the dragons and temple events should be harder fights than the likes of the Hydra Queen, Fire Shaman, Fire Elemental, etc. However, I do NOT think every one of the events should be turned into a 150-man, HAS TO BE ORGANIZED affair. I enjoy running Teq and Wurm with TTS, but I only do them a few times a week because all of that organization (organization that is needed, especially for wurm) just takes too much time.
So, yes. Take away afk/auto-attack spots (similar to what was changed with Claw of Jormag), and maybe throw in some mini-bosses or puzzles or new mechanics. But don’t turn them all into major scale raids.
He’s very easily done via range. You’ll have more armor breaks from taking care of the wolves than you will from the troll if you range it. However, I still think the change was silly and not well-prepared. It should be tweaked and be given the correct loot drop.
No. I have no idea how anyone would even accomplish this.
By being in an instance where there is no repair anvil/npc and not having any repair canisters. Or just not caring.
Forging rares did nothing for me. I bought the precursor for my first legendary (made it around seven months after the game launched). I got extremely lucky and got the precursor for my second one from the forge late last summer, after less than 20g of exotics spent. I got The Lover from a dungeon run about six months after that.
So, it seems like about once every six months I’ll get really lucky with RNG. The rest of the time I’m swimming in my greens and blues. Meanwhile I know a person who has gotten at least four precursors from the forge, as well as lots of rare item drops from events. RNG is RNG is RNG.
One of my first characters broke all of her armor on a personal story mission that was too high level for her. She was naked by the time she finished.
There were some datamined cooking things that showed 500 cooking was at least a possiblity. I don’t know if it’s developed any further since then.
“So is it only guild leaders who have access to seeing when members last logged on, or can the entire guild roster see it? If it is only the guild leader, then you will run into problems with guilds who have an inactive guild leader and the person who actually is leading the guild and needs that info is 1 rank below”
This. The guild I’m in now has a “leader” who I don’t think has logged into the game in at least six months. We make do with our highest ranked officers for missions and upgrades, but we’re unable to really do anything to better the guild without a leader with full permissions. So any change that is only for the “guild leader” leaves a portion of guilds out in the cold. :\
There are seven other dungeons you can run, and all of those will be a lot shorter than pretty much any path in Arah. CoE and CoF both have zerker gear, if that’s what you’re wanting from Arah. If you’re just going for Arah for the skin, then you’re stuck.
You can also craft your gear, buy it on the trading post, buy it in wvw with both badges of honor and gold, or buy it from temples in Orr for karma.
I used a splitter on a mace that was the Dragon Jade skin put onto a Guild mace. Both stayed soulbound, but I was able to transmute the skin onto a white and turn it account bound. So, it does work (or at least did when I did it).
But yeah, the warning message is there. Not really anyone’s fault but the user.
Did you do that path after reset yesterday/last night? If so, you got fewer tokens because of that. If not, yeah, that’s a bug that should be submitted.
There is at least one miasma/Scarlet event that happens in Queensdale, but it’s closer to where boar and wasp are located.
Where are you looking to check your gold? The amount gold in your “bank” is shown at the bottom of your inventory and in your Wallet (accessible via the Hero panel or by clicking on the gold amount at the bottom of your inventory window). The gold shown there is the gold you have in your “bank”.
So, you went to The Grove, then somewhere in Caledon Forest, and then some other places?
As Inculpatus said, go to the PvP lobby, and go to the lockers. You can preview every skin in the game there.
I think a unique skin, on par with legendaries, would be a better reward for someone who wins the tournament. But in place of a unique one, I don’t see why one of the current ones being given is an issue. They will have earned it.
You have to do events to open up that area. It’s closed until the event chain opens it up.
From the wiki:
“If the POI is inaccessible, complete any event occurring nearby or start the event “Drive the ogres from their watchtower by killing their scouts” by talking to Dyrala Ogrestalker who is found south of Watchcrag Tower Waypoint. "
Try finding that NPC or doing any other event in that immediate area and waiting. If no events pop, then yeah, you may be screwed. But guesting and then trying on that guested world should work.
Did someone stay in the zone to claim credit for it? I’m not sure if you HAVE to do that anymore, but that could be it. If that’s not the case, then I have no idea. :\
Easiest way for me was to have a minion or elemental or pet to tank and distract the mob while I stealth (either with a skill or a kit) and get the SP. Sometimes you’ll get lucky and have the mob do his shield first, which gives you time to get the SP, but that’s RNG.
I think it could take some tweaking, but in no way should it be removed. Like others have said, there are only FOUR giants you can kill (for the achievement) in the whole kitten game.
Ok, yes. In the case of ascended gear, I could see a one-time stat change being appropriate. However, for exotic and below, no.
Dungeons are seriously easy and (usually) fast money. Even just doing the “easy” paths will get you quite a bit of gold, without even including the drops you get.
AC paths 1 and 3 = 3g
CoF paths 1 and 2 = 2g
CoE, all three paths = 3g (plus a chance of charged cores and lodestones, as well as t6 loot bags)
SE paths 1 and 3 = 2g
HotW path 1 (slightly more iffy now that the troll is changed, but still very doable) = 1g
Easy gold.
Like Healix said, they’re not removing the stat like they did with Magic Find. There’d be no reason to refund armor or let you choose new stats.
FYI: Armored scale, crystalline dust, and vicious claws are T6 materials that sell between 20s and 40s a piece on the trading post (far more than a single orichalcum ore or gossamer strap will go for). And I’ll bet you’re sitting on a bunch of mats that would sell for quite a lot of gold. You just need to actually look and see what will sell.
This might sound like a patronizing question, but are you sure both items are:
1. The same type (ie. both chest armor)
2. The same class of armor (ie. both leather)
Edit: Ah yes, as Inculpatus said, you have to use the Rare/yellow Transmutation Crystal to transmute anything that’s level 80, even if the other item isn’t 80.
(edited by RoseofGilead.8907)
As Steven said if the instance “owner” logs out, it’ll kick everyone out of the dungeon.
Does it only happen when you first log onto a character that has yet to log into LA since the patch Tuesday? If so, it might be the game starting to load LA, switching to load the cutscene, and then switching back to LA (thus, dumping you in a different WP). That seems to be what happens when I go in there on new characters, anyway.
Whenever I see an improper skill is used, I’ll think that person is trying to troll me.
That doesn’t sound at all paranoid or unreasonable.
Yeah, they drop from the big chests after finishing certain areas/bosses. I’ve received one dungeon trinket recipe out of my time dungeoning in GW2. So, as atrius said, they’re very very rare drops.
Yup, I got it yesterday, too, after finishing Claw of Jormag.
A definite change was made. For months I’ve entered the JP the same way astralporing mentioned (sliding down the right side, hitting that stalagmite, and then jumping down from there). Now you die doing that.
