It really doesn’t bother me at all. I had no issues farming blade shards and other items for the spinal blade back items (I made two of them during/immediately after the events and have since collected enough mats to make a third if I want). Scarlet’s Kiss and Rainbow were already obtainable for people with tons of money to trade for gold.
This content was stuff that happened years ago, before a decent chunk of the population of the game was even around. I know I earned my rewards from the actual events, and that’s enough for me. I really could not care less how someone else got them.
You can get a free server swap by deleting all of your characters. Just make sure you remove any soulbound items from your bank before doing so, as well as deposit any materials in your character(s)’ inventory.
Guys,
The reason that this particular name is blocked is entirely different than you believe. In fact, we block names that have a space around the letter “G” because that’s the most effective way to block someone from posing as a Game Master. We learned from experience in our own and other games that some people impersonate GM’s in an attempt to scam other players. They might use GM Fred or G M Fred, or they may incorporate symbols that look like “GM” at a glance. Blocking a self-standing letter “G” allows us to better prevent that unfortunate situation.
The more we know! Thanks, Gaile.
My guess is copyright. And you aren’t too likely to get a response from Anet here; if you want direct feedback, a support ticket is the way to go.
Excuse me? How dare you insult my disco ball?! No battle is truly a battle without a disco ball.
Because I wanted to play it as soon as it was released. The end.
If a server is listed as Full, then it’s very unlikely that it will not be Full anytime soon. Server populations are determined by the number of wvw players on that server. So, unless a mass exodus (such as a large wvw guild leaving Piken Square for a lower population server) happens, the Full status isn’t likely to change. And yeah, support won’t put you on a full server just because you want to be on it.
So, you’d be better off just transferring to a non-full EU server. You’d be able to play with your EU friends that way. And, after the 7 day lock out, you can resume your wait for Piken Square to open up.
As Trogdor said, I imagine that the release day was decided and agreed upon by many members of staff. If it weren’t a reasonable day for the staff required to work for launch, they probably would have chosen a different day.
It’s one of the Engineer gyros from the Scrapper spec. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gyro
I’m not sure I understand. You have Heart of Thorns (the first expansion to Guild Wars 2); you’re free to play it and all of its content as long as you like. Path of Fire is the upcoming second expansion to Guild Wars 2, and you have to buy it in order to play it once it’s launched. You’re not “re-purchasing” anything; you’re buying the new expansion.
If you’re saying you saw this message ("Please re-purchase . . . ") in-game, then that sounds unusual. What were you doing when you saw that message?
When you right click on mats in the demo, you’re only given the option to Deposit or Destroy; there is no “Sell at trading post” option I’ve seen yet. I’m not sure why your non-demo characters are not able to get your stuff from the BLTC, though. You might want to submit a support ticket, just in case.
I think being forced to dismount when talking to any and all NPCs is excessive. It doesn’t really prevent visual clutter, either, because if someone really wanted to troll with their mount, all they’d have to do is mount up and not interact with the NPC. But I think that a forced dismount while gathering or picking up objects is just fine.
Make sure you all are reporting the bug in-game, as well as here on the forums.
Yup. She tried to kill me, but I managed to get away. Kitty cat does NOT like the water.
Just realized: the OP said he/she purchased the CoF ultimate edition and a bag slot “from the website at the same time”.
What “website”? You can’t purchase bag slots, or other gem store items, outside of the gem shop in game, as far as I know. The official GW2 website only has the game for sale.
You can buy certain gem store items (including additional bag slots) on the GW2 shop here on the website. When you go to the checkout page to order the game or the expansions, the list of these items you can add to your purchase appears at the bottom of the page.
I, too, appreciated this JP. It was much more like the JP’s I loved working my way through back in Central Tyria and some parts of HoT.
There will be demo weekends (first one is the 11th-13th). Other than that, the expansion content will be released on expansion release day.
The demo is the weekend of the 11th through the 13th.
How long did it take to get your gems? Its been 2 days since I ordered it.
It took about 54 hours for me to get mine. It can take up to 72 hours, so just be patient.
I got my gems today, and I immediately bought the unlimited unbound magic gathering tools combo. It’s something I’ve had my eye on for months (partially because I want a second set of tools to put on my second “main”, and partially because I wanted a lazy way to get bonus unbound magic), so I just immediately went for it. So, if there’s something you’ve had your eye on for a long time, I’d say go for it. If there’s not anything you KNOW you want and will use, then I’d just hold onto the gems. Wait for a while (at the very least until PoF release) and see if anything new comes around.
I received mine last night, which would have been around 54 hours after purchase. So, you’ll get them.
Yes, it’s worth leveling any class up to 80. However, not a single class in GW2 is going to feel like their GW1 predecessor. GW2 is a completely different game with a completely different style of combat. So, you’ll need to approach it as a different game rather than GW1.5.
I was super happy for the beard and hair styles recently added for humans. However, I wish that the other races (at the very least Norn) had access to some of them. But, for now, I’ll just say thank you to Anet for the awesome new styles.
Your screenshot shows that your Zinn mini isn’t unlocked. Have you tried unlocking the mini so that it’s applied to your minis?
As a side note, how do you have two of those? I thought that was an achievement reward.
I liked most of the adventures and enjoyed playing them. That being said, I wouldn’t mind if they’re completely absent from PoF.
As a necromancer, I refuse to entertain the notion of a spider mount. Pink fluffy unicorn or nothing.
Pleeeeeaaaaase.
Spamadan
I got mine. I can’t remember if I got the boost from clicking on the icon over the mini map or if it came from a mail, though. I do remember that the mini and skin were in their own, separate mail.
I’m not really excited for mounts, and it’s not a feature I’ve wanted in GW2. That being said, I don’t feel like I’m being punished by the addition of mounts. It’s just a new mechanic I’ll have to use and get used to.
I tried buying through the gem store and through the website. The gem store attempt gave an error during the final review of the order. The website attempt gave an error when going to the log in/purchase page.
As far as I know, there is no such achievement or title in GW2.
The Goonies pirate ship complete with One-Eyed Willie was pretty rad the first time I found that JP.
Are you referring to the one in the gilded hollow guild hall?
I’m pretty sure they mean the one in Harathi Hinterlands (Fawcett’s Bounty).
It’s not a bug. Those wings were released as a backpack skin only. The feather wings were also initially released as just a backpack skin; later on, they added the glider/backpack skin combo for those. So, maybe one day we’ll get the same with the smaller wings. But, for now, it’s just the backpack skin. For future reference, a backpack skin that is also a glider skin will be called a “glider combo” on the gem store, and the backpack skins without a glider skin are called a “backpack”.
Odd. Was the chest you received called “southsun chest”? I ask because I don’t recall ever seeing one of those at all, let alone as a map reward.
Also, if your character is an older one, you might have already completed Caledon Forest once and gotten the reward chest then. Caledon Forest was one of a few maps that has had additional objectives (hearts, POIs, vistas, etc.) added to it since launch. So, if you’d already finished that map before those hearts were added, you wouldn’t get the reward for completing it a second time.
Sorry, thought that’s only relevant in WvW, not PvE.
In WvW you have to be on the same region (EU or NA) AND the same server or group of servers to play together. In PvE and PvP you just have to be on the same region.
Sorry to keep derailing your thread, OP. I hope anyone who needs help sees your kind offer and takes you up on it.
It might help to know which region you play in.
Why, you just add him to your friends list and see when he’s online. If he’s not, don’t whsiper.
You have to be on the same region (either EU or NA) in order to actually be able to play together.
I haven’t seen Blade Shard in any of the lists – is this considered too niche an item?
From the first post in the thread:
“Fine Crafting Materials
Blade Shards
Shimmering Crystals
Tenebrous Crystals”
That Shaman has datamined the new expansion’s launcher. You can look it over for clues to the name.
But “Look at Me; I’m Kormir” doesn’t have a P or an F in it!
Has anyone else noticed the acronym is the same as the code in Dr. Strangelove?
Perhaps the episode will end with Countess Anise singing “We’ll Meet Again” as a montage of Braham and his fellow Norn trekking to and taking out Jormag plays.
Why the heck the designer put an attack of necro player or somebody who swings her sword.
Looking closely at that swing, I see green and leaves when that guy swings his sword.
The effect in the video just looks like the Reaper GS auto-attack (specifically the first hit of it). The first strike creates a green cloud effect, and little feathers/leaves fly off.
Where is trailer ? I see only old recap…
The trailer is what you watched; it wasn’t a recap.
I do say.

Livia oh Livia, have you met Livia? Livia the immortal Necromancer.
See, I haven’t met her. Fixed.
I just wanted to thank/curse you for getting that song in my head. <3
I think the “Go on, save Tyria” line was delivered that way on purpose and that the character saying it likely isn’t trying to be an encouraging influence.
Prophecy of Flameseeking
As Frizz said, they’re already Kits. So, Kitten is an appropriate term, I feel.
I’m sad I’ll be out of town when the patch drops (and will have to avoid spoilers until I’m back home). Good trailer.
