For looks:
1. Frostgorge Sound – The scenery is beautiful. It’s not my favorite map to play through, but I love looking at it when I’m there.
2. The Grove – This is just a beautiful setting, especially at night when you can see the stars.
3. Auric Basin – The jungle sections are beautiful, the waterfall area is one of my favorite places in the game, and Tarir is just gorgeous.
4. Kessex Hills – Despite the blast zone around the destroyed Tower of Nightmares, I still think Kessex Hills is one of the most beautiful zones. Plus, floating tower of mystery is mysterious and neat.
5. Divinity’s Reach – I love the bustling city atmosphere. Plus, it’s a beautiful city, which gives it double bonus points.
Favorites to play through:
1. Cursed Shore – I’ve always liked playing in CS a lot. Lots of fun lore bits to seek out, tons of events, and good for farming certain mats/items.
2. Silverwastes – Again, good farming, but the events area also entertaining and engaging enough that I don’t get bored easily.
3. Straits of Devastation – I have a soft spot for Straits because of the old, old, old karma train. Events are plentiful, and the loot isn’t bad, either.
4. Draconis Mons – I love playing in this map. Spiderman fun times, GW1 tie-ins and lore, and a few fun events.
5. Brisban Wildlands – I love Skrittsburgh. The end.
1. Tangled Depths – It’s extremely confusing at first, and even once you’re used to the map it’s still a bit of a mindkitten. It’s also very frustrating figuring out where things are due to the maze-like structure and three levels without many access points.
2. Lornar’s Pass – The sheer size of this map is really the only thing I dislike about it, but I hate the size of it enough to have it go in my personal Top 5 worst maps. It takes sooooo long to finish it just because it takes forever to get from one end to the other.
3. Blazeridge Steppes – Another one that is just freaking huge. It also has the disadvantage of being a very boring map, for the most part.
4. Verdant Brink – Map completion here (like in TD) is a bit more of a puzzle than I care for. I also don’t really like the overall meta for VB, which just makes me feel very “Bleh” about the map.
5. Bloodtide Coast – I don’t really know why I hate this map so much. I just know that I always end up saving it for last when I do full map completion on characters, and I always go “Ughhhhhhhh” when I realize I have to do it.
Considering Holographic Shattered Dragon Wings is by achievement, and not an item that was for sale or in black lion chests.. I doubt it.
Every item the OP listed was an achievement reward, like the sunless wings.
I think it’d be a good idea to add them, as well. If the wings of the sunless count, then the others should, too.

The guild gathering bonuses don’t give you an increased chance at an extra hit; they give you an increased chance to get “rare materials” (such as orbs from mining) when you’re gathering.
But this option is full O_o and the problem persist
All the other players around you in that second screenshot have normal character models, unlike your first screenshot in your original post, where every character other than yours had the low quality character model. So, something changed between your first screenshot and the second screenshot.
Like I said in my first post, though, sometimes you will see the low quality character model when you’re first loading in until everything is fully loaded. That’s normal behavior.
(edited by RoseofGilead.8907)
I assume you’re talking about other players all looking like placeholder characters (grey clothing with dark faces/hands). This happens when you’re first loading into the game, but it also happens permanently if have your Character Model Quality set to the Lowest setting. Press Esc. Click on Options. Then click on Graphics Options. Towards the bottom of the window is Character Model Quality. Set that to Low or higher to make normal character models appear. The higher you have that setting, the more “normal” character models you’ll see.

Primeval armor was an armor set.
Yup. Also, we have/had the Krytan and Profane sets (both old GW1 sets), which were also armor sets.
That being said, those were early additions to the game, and we haven’t had full GW1 armor skin sets since then. Plus, they’ve all been gem store items. I’d love to have more GW1 armor throwbacks that are earned by playing rather than by using gems.
Update your ticket, and try your best to make your update state exactly what the issue is.
“I am not having in-game or trading post issues. I created this ticket because I am not receiving verification emails when I try to log in, which means I am unable to log in.”
Something like that would be good.
I just wanted to add another “You’re awesome, Linsey” post. You’re awesome, Linsey. Thank you for your hard work on this, and thank you to everyone else who has worked on it and will continue to work on it.
1. You get the level 80 gear regardless of what your character’s current level is. Even if you use it on a level 80 character, you’ll get the level 80 exotic gear (I know because I used it on a level 80 character).
2. The amount of Hero Points you get from the booster is the amount a character gets just from leveling from 1 to 80. The Hero Points from Hero Challenges you did prior to using the boost will just be added on top of that base amount.
3. The personal story tracks your progress, and it’ll always be there for you to continue. Once you reach 80 (and own HoT), you’ll get a notification in-game about starting the HoT story. You could go ahead and start with that, or you can go back and finish up the main personal story from before HoT.
4. If I recall correctly, the boost gives you (at least) one of at least a few weapons your class can use. I could be wrong about that, though. However, I’m pretty certain that a thief would be given at least one pistol from the equipment pack.
Edit: Looks like I was wrong about the pistol, according to Tanner below. But it’d be easy to track down a temporary pistol to use until you can get an exotic one.

I further predict that regardless of what they do, the forums will be filled with complaints about the costs.
Haha, yup.
I believe they also drop in the No-So-Secret jumping puzzle from aetherblade foes and the chests.
I think it’s the blade shards that can drop from Aetherblades. Although, I think that Aetherblades do have a chance of dropping a salvage item that has sprockets on the loot table, now that I think about it.
It might have come down with tuesdays noon (est) update. The limited offerings are usually Tuesday to Tuesday….
It went out yesterday, around 11am Central Time.
While there may not have been an announcement, the tools on the gem store itself had a timer counting down (I noticed it about a day before they left the gem store).
Playing EoTM to rank up quickly isn’t cheating, regardless of how much it grinds your gears that the EoTM grinders can have the same rank as the “real” wvw players.
I can see a difference, even just through the pictures you posted. It’s kind of a subtle difference, but it’s still noticeable.
Some sadistic asura making an experiment trying to see how many silly players will jump to their death.
Definitely the most plausible option.
I couldn’t choose one favorite, so here’s my top 5 (in no particular order):
1. M.O.X. – I loved M.O.X. in GW1, and having that mini in GW2 just makes me happy.
2. Orrian baby chicken – It’s so cute…and undead, but still cute.
3. Snow flurry dragon – It’s so pretty, AND my cat loves to watch it as it swirls around the screen.
4. Liadri – One of the coolest-looking minis, I feel, and it’s a good status symbol for people who beat Liadri.
5. All of the llama minis – Llamas are the best. I’ll never own any of them, but I still think they are adorable.
If it’s your very first character, I wouldn’t use the boost because doing so means you miss out on learning your class as you level. But that is just my opinion. If you would prefer to jump ahead to 80, you can do so and easily go back and play through your personal story/do map completion then.
The female humans got tired of the male humans telling them to smile more, so they all bought very, very convincing masks with smiles.
So basically you upscale the events without participation and reap benefits from cheating.
Wow.
Being present at your computer and letting turrets kill things for you isn’t really cheating, though, even if you are only paying attention half the time. As long as they’re checking back in periodically, aren’t using third party programs to refresh turrets for them, or stuff like that, that is. And I don’t think there are many (if any) events that the turret farmers are scaling up in that location, but I haven’t been to that map in a good two months, so I may be remembering incorrectly.

Yes, they’ll definitely be back again in the future. As for when, we don’t know because Anet doesn’t usually let us know gem store sales ahead of time. Just keep checking back every week or so.
I bought it, and I’m happy with my purchase. My one complaint is that the bow on the male version of the outfit looks quite strange. I think it would look a lot better with a bolo tie, or even a colonel tie (thinner ribbon, longer than it is wide) would fit the look better.
Try deleting a few of the older emails from previous story steps, relogging, and then try restarting the chapter. I’m not sure it’ll necessarily do anything, but it’s worth a try.
Hehehe. According to the dev who built him in, there is a very small chance for a webby to show up. You probably don’t want to know what else he said about this in the stream. For those who do...The dev said Mox didn't intentionally bring the spider, but that his inner body was riddled with them so that he inadvertantly brought some along.
Oh my god, that is horrifying. I’m going to go take a shower until I feel clean and not covered in spiders.
It’s the Cabalist light armor set. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Cabalist_armor
Guardian GS, warrior axe offhand, or Dagger Storm are all possibilities.
And yes, warrior GS 3 does a spinning motion as you move forward.
Dwayna at least was capable of interbreeding with humans; it’s canon now that Grenth is her son by the sculptor Malchor.
Technically, Grenth’s father has never been named. He’s only been referred to as “a sculptor”. It does seem like all signs point to Malchor, though.
The one Tanner linked is the event you need, as far as I know. There are other Eye events (one in each Orr map, as well as the ones in the Story Arah and Personal Story missions), but the only one that counts is the one in Straits of Devastation.
I look forward to buying the new outfit and mini so I can be a gunslinger.
Of course, YOU want to look like a gunslinger, Roland.
Just doing what I can to stop the Crimson King, man.
Same here I was just kicked off the servers with no explanation summited a ticketed and still not response. Not happy.
If it “just” happened in the last few hours, then you’re definitely going to have to wait a bit longer. Make sure you submitted a support ticket and not an in-game bug report, and check that you received the email confirming that you submitted your ticket.
Well, the game doesn’t charge for a subscription, so they kind of need to make money somehow. So, yes, the gem store is the “cash cow”.
It was, indeed, a holiday weekend. So, support might be a bit slower to respond. Also, submitting multiple tickets will usually delay your response time, so you’d be better off deleting your second one. If you still haven’t received a response to your first ticket after 72 hours, then update your ticket saying you still need help on your issue.
Yeah. Because the people who design gem store items totally work on fixing bugs or other issues.
I look forward to buying the new outfit and mini so I can be a gunslinger.
I don’t mind the complexity/puzzley part of jumping puzzles. Or the technical jumping parts.
. . .
Drydock Scratch is pretty amazing overall, except the parts where there’s no clear indication of where to go and the seemingly random trial-and-error section at the end. Awesome in size and scope though, appreciate it. Meanwhile, Chalice of Tears seems to exploit bad lighting and pixel-sized landing pads that don’t match the visuals of the terrain as a measure of false difficulty. It’s not humane design.
I agree with this. I really enjoyed Drydock Scratch. They day it came out, I spent around 2 hours making my way through it, figuring it out for myself, and I had a good time doing it. The end where you’re basically stuck doing a big game of Trial and Error wasn’t my favorite part, but it wasn’t that bad. Chalice of Tears (and, to a slightly lesser extent, Searing Ascent) was not fun to work through because of how it relies on landing on the exact right pixel (instead of the normal jumping precision required) to succeed. It makes for a far more frustrating JP experience than all of the others, in my opinion.
Both are account bound items and can’t be transferred to someone else, I’m afraid.
Two things come to mind:
1. Is your guild friend sure they submitted a support ticket? Lots of people confuse the Bug Report in-game with support tickets.
2. Did that person get the automated email that is sent after submitting a ticket? If they didn’t get it, it could have gone to their Spam folder. Or the friend could have even accidentally made a typo when typing in their email address.
Those two things being said, sometimes support gets a lot of tickets in a short period of time, creating a backlog which takes some time to sift through. Similarly, certain issues just might take longer to resolve than others, even if they’re under the same basic category of issues. For what it’s worth, the longest I’ve ever had to wait for a response from support is around 60 hours, and I’ve never had to wait longer than maybe 48 hours for a serious issue.
From what I understand: a new, non-free account with the Standard HoT will start with 5 character slots. A new, non-free account with the Deluxe or Ultimate HoT will start with 6 character slots. So, if you’re starting from a Free Account (with the 2 slots available), your character slots will be increased to 5 or 6, depending on which edition you buy.
Back when HoT went up for pre-purchase, existing accounts (ones made before a certain date in early 2015) whose owners pre-purchased any version of the HoT expansion AND applied the HoT serial to their accounts before release got an additional character slot.

How an “optional” jumping puzzle killing the game?
By not being optional.
I’ve yet to see a jumping puzzle implemented into a story step. and no, jumping over gap isn’t a jumping puzzle
as I said, jumping over a gap isn’t a jumping puzzle, especially if a trail of sparkles tell you where to go
You do complete the JP, though. Yeah, the sparkles tell you where to go, but you still do the whole JP with some minor difficulties added (the wind that knocks you off at the beginning of the JP and the traps towards the end). That being said, if you take too long, Sieran will basically give you a port to the end of the JP portion of the mission.
I really like the idea. I’ve always liked WoW’s archaeology profession (which works very similarly to your idea), but I also have felt as though it would be SO much better with more lore tied to it. Something like this in GW2 would be very interesting for me.
Diving Goggles achievement (and associated MP) requires the abomination that is Not So Secret
want me to mesmer you up? Takes 5 seconds, NotSoSecret is a way overrated JP.
While I agree that Not So Secret isn’t that bad of a JP, marelooke was talking about the Diving Goggles; and the Not So Secret dive one of the most irritating ones to successfully complete. So, yeah, getting ported up to them would take no time at all, but they’d still have to successfully make the jump (and not get hit by the bug that sometimes blocks you from getting credit).
Usually, logging out and back in will fix the problem, restore your title, and give Aiti a spanking.
I bought the unbreakable tools (the unskinned ones) a few months ago. I never had done much harvesting but after it became clear I would need to do a lot in LS3 I decided it was worth it. Right after that, before I even had a chance to use them (I was still using up what was equipped) I realized the UM tools were worthwhile so they just sat in 3 shared slots and got almost no use. Cue the new unlimited UM tools, which I bought. Now it is too late to return the original tools or even give them to an alt (I asked). I would happily have paid for a UM upgrade and foregone the animations.
Again, why can’t you give Account-bound tools to an alt?
I think they’re talking about the unbound magic tools bought with karma, which are soulbound. Unless I read the post wrong.

For those who don’t understand people who want to play solo in a multiplayer game……… I wouldn’t want the game to have only myself in it. That would be boring to me. I like being able to talk with people, ask questions, say hi. I like seeing others running around in the world. And yes I like grouping up to take down a world boss.
But while questing and running around leveling I like solo. I like to be able to go where I want at the pace I want without having to slow someone else down. I like not having to wonder which direction my group or partner is going. At the same time I’ll be one of the first to go help someone when they ask in chat for help. I’ll help but then go on my way solo again. ;-)
This is how I feel about it, as well. I prefer to do things on my own, but I don’t avoid people, either. And if someone asks for help in the open world, I will almost always go lend a hand. But, generally speaking, I will be doing stuff solo.
No, thank you.
Yeah, you can see your character get downed (the red “Fight for survival!” message appears) right before the enemy player completes the “Finish”.
It’s definitely possible. However, there’s been a Menzies weapon (Fate of Menzies torch) in the game since launch, so this new one could just be yet another just using the name for nostalgia. I’m hoping it’s actually going to lead to something, though. FoW hype.
I’d go check again. I had the same thing happen to me at least twice, and I was pretty annoyed. But then I went to all four hearts again (third time doing so) and realized I’d somehow just missed buying the stone from the Ancient Hollow heart vendor and, somehow, didn’t notice it until that third time around. Same heart both times, too.
(edited by RoseofGilead.8907)
It’ll be back at some point.
