You probably already had 1 day of dailies held over from last year. I got my Course Load chest after one day of dailies this year because I had 7 saved up from last year. :p
Probably the same reason there isn’t a St. Patrick’s Day event, a Day of the Dead event, an American Independence Day event, a May Day event, or an event for every Saint feast day: there’s no reason to celebrate every holiday or event in the game’s universe.
You will get another chance, once the 7 days are up. I know you want to play again before that, but if you broke the rules (which you seem to acknowledge that you did), then that’s that.
Ewon: Naming and shaming isn’t allowed. But your videos are some interesting evidence. So, I’d remove your link from here and instead send it to exploits@arena.net; include any other screen shots and character/account names you suspect are botting.
I had no intent on starting my own thread to name and shame this OP, or any of the other few potential sw botters I see.
The video is not mine, but I gathered possible evidence on the OP botting which I wasn’t entirely sure what to do with. I actually just installed xsplit a few days ago to record my own video.
I was actually looking for a screenshot of the bot tool when I came across this being discussed on the forums. I was shocked to see that one of the potential botters started his own post to defend himself. I decided to reply to his thread, that maybe he isn’t being so honest.
I take responsibility for what I have posted about the topic, and if I’m out of line the mods can give me an infraction and remove my post. I’m just a frustrated player who wishes the report feature didn’t feel so meaningless. (and not simply towards the OP)
I completely understand why you made your post. I’m just trying to help you avoid an infraction. And, again, don’t be afraid to send that video link (even if it’s not yours) as well as your own evidence to the email address I mentioned. That way Anet can review it as they look into the botting reports.

Always report them, if you suspect they are botting or otherwise breaking the rules. You won’t get direct responses to reports made in-game, but they are read (especially if one particular account has multiple reports against it). They also won’t do a patch or make an announcement when a ban wave is done. So, just keep reporting and encourage others to do so.

No, forging them doesn’t unlock the minis for your account. You’d have to buy two sets of minis if you wanted to keep the three from the set AND keep the one you get from forging them.
There’s nothing to be fixed here. People like to show off when something nice/good happens to them, and there’s honestly nothing wrong with that. Hopefully your luck will change in the future.
I’m just entertained by “decided to crash the servers”. Like, I’m imagining some support person feeling bored, and typing “serverctl crash” into the console, then laughing…
(yeah, that’s … “decided” is definitely the wrong word here.)
I’m picturing Controller Jacobs pulling the power cord for the landing strip lights in Airplane!
“Just kidding!”
Looks like I picked the wrong day to quit smoking.
there is a perma banner at ip 36 rayhan baht, been there for 12 hours
and where was it specified that banners vanish if a player leaves the zone?
certainly not on that perma banner
It seems more likely that you’re just not there when someone puts a new banner down. Since that’s a very popular logging spot, it’s a popular place to drop gathering banners.
As for the note about banners vanishing if a player leaves the zone, that’s a bug that many people have been experiencing for a couple of months now; it’s not intended behavior, but it does happen lately.
this issue still persists.
the collection/achievement cannot be progressed after destroying an essence.
yet no answer in this thread, no answer for ingame tickets.
Only bug reports can be directly submitted in game, and you won’t get a response to those. If you want a direct response to an issue, you have to submit a support ticket. https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
The change of the transmutation system didn’t delete or change the quality (ascended, exotic, rare, etc.) of any gear, as far as I know. I would double/triple/quadruple check every character’s inventory (use the search bar at the top to type in the name), and then check the bank (use the search bar there, as well).
Very good video guide. I drove myself insane trying to get that yesterday. I gave up after attempt number 7, when my dropped jerk piranha somehow spawned above me and out of my reach.
That’s not an outfit; it’s a set of armor skins (Flamekissed). And they were actually recently on sale, during the March sales. So, what you’re looking at on your character is just their armor, not an outfit.

6 sons plus parents….. how u guys will make a party for the game??
party limit is 5
This is a good point. Gotta go for two more kids, OP! Then you can have two parties AND a full raid squad.
I used Dulfy’s guide and dug up the first three locations listed, and they all worked fine for me.
A total makeover kit allows you to change your character’s gender, skin tone, height, horn/ear shape, glow, hair style, hair color, facial hair, facial features, eye color, tattoos, etc. You can change as many or as few of those things as you want. Once you’ve made your changes and clicked on the confirmation box, the kit is consumed and will disappear from your inventory.
As I always say in threads like this, I just want consistency. We have the female model for some outfits for female charr and asura, and then we have the male model for others. I’d, personally, prefer to have both versions be unlocked, regardless of the gender of the character.
It’s coming back tomorrow, so I’m not sure why you’re posting these?
I love posts like this. Congratulations on the new baby!
1. None of the GW1 weapons have been copy/pasted into GW2; they’ve been re-designed for GW2, using the original model as the starting point for design.
2. You don’t have to try to get it. You are completely within your right to not buy black lion keys for a shot at opening it. Other people, however, do want it and will gamble to get it.
3. Former GW1 players often speak fondly of these GW1 throwback skins. You may not be one of those people, but they certainly do exist and do buy those skins.
All that being said, I have no plans to try to get this skin because, like others said, I prefer not to gamble with real money. If I get keys in-game, I’ll definitely use them, but I’m not likely to spend cash for gems (or even trade gold for gems) for something in black lion chests. If it were a skin we could just buy directly (like the chaos gloves, storm bow, or emissary staff), I’d probably buy it.
Yes, it’s normal and working as intended. Unfortunately, Blocking only prevents someone from whispering or mailing you. It doesn’t remove them from your pool of LFG listings.
The Sylvari look like they’re just their /dance emote; looks like the shot is of the very start of the dance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXhE-nDzvrk
It’s a typo on the sale. The original price is 600 gems, I believe.
I think the idea proposed by Keenan is a good one. However, I will also add that I, personally, I have no problems with the sounds The Dreamer and Quip make. They don’t bother me at all, honestly. But if the decision is made to change them, then I think the idea described in the first post is a good one.
Good question. I, too, would like it to come back. It was a nice way to track gem store sales (especially during March).
So I hope I’m understanding this, but warrior and silent are complaining that there has been no new tech in gw2 since HoT? Is that what you mean by content?
Cause, objectively speaking, there has been new content. New stories, new lore, new maps, new masteries, new fractals and a new raid.
If you’re view of “content” is “massive shift of gw2 technology”, then of course there wouldn’t be anything new since HoT, because that amount of development would be left for expansions.
Onto the OPs topic, which I realised I never addressed, I think it’s healthy for the game to have new maps. It allows for players to experience new areas of Tyria. While it’s not helpful for free players, I think it’s valuable for HoT players who have access to the game.
I agree that they should address the older zones to make them more attractive to both free players and HoT players, but as it is, I think it’s sustainable what they’re doing currently.
um nope you are missing it . i am stating facts here . and i will make them facts far more clear for you . case in point you’re telling me know if i get this right the game uses and runs on DX11? and you can now fully use VR on all maps too? even tho your not saying that but for sake of a good debate here . when was them too things add to the game ??? what date was it this game fully went to using VR on all maps . and running on DX11 ????
At no point did castlemanic claim that the game uses DX11 or VR. Regardless, content is more than just technological advances; content is Living World, fractals, Masteries, and things like that.
I like both. The old one was a nice way to have a little break in the action while having some part of the story told to you. The new one keeps you engaged and actually shows your character interacting with the characters directly, rather than just semi-facing one other NPC.
Are you sure you’ve completed every heart except for the one in the swamp area? There are 17 of them. If you have done all of the other 16, then maybe go do your level 10 personal story. That’ll give you some more exp. If you don’t want to do that, open your big map, and go to one of the other starter zones (Metrica Province, Caledon Forest, Plains of Ashford, or Wayfarer Foothills); everyone starts out with one waypoint in each of the starter zones.
This is a feature that was in the game when it was released. Another feature was the waiting lists to join a map, so you didn’t have to spend all your time clicking join [player] in [map].
Eh, it wasn’t a real space-holder or queue system at all. If you disconnected during a fight, you weren’t guaranteed to get back in. If you were in a group, you had a slightly better shot at it, but if you were at a highly populated event, you’d most likely end up in the “Right click, Join in map, and Pray” boat. Revamped Tequatl, for example, was an AWFUL pain to get and keep a slot in the “main” instance of the map; if you disconnected after the fight started, you’d have a very, very difficult time getting back in. You could wait for the pop up letting you know you could join the instance, but sometimes it wouldn’t even work properly. And, in many cases, you wouldn’t get the pop up to join the “main” instance of the map until the event you were trying to do was finished.

That’s good and if we did try some casual PvE like that personal story which looks cool hadn’t seen mmo with that or raiding, are there any cost needed towards gear runes buffs for competitive raid etc?
Thanks again
For PvE stuff: If you just want to play personal story, you can just use the gear you get as you level up or as you complete story chapters. That will get you through personal story and leveling just fine. However, raids require better gear. Ascended or Legendary armor and weapons (highest stats in the game) is almost required, but you could get by with Exotics (second-highest stats) with the right stats.
No gear will ever cost you real money, however, unless you choose to buy gems to convert to gold. All gear (from the lowest tier to the highest) can be crafted yourself. You can run dungeons to get tokens to buy exotic armor; you can also buy exotic gear with karma (another currency) from specific vendors in certain level 80 maps and specific vendors in WvW with Badges of Honor (wvw currency). As for ascended, you can get boxes of ascended armor or weapons from running higher level Fractals (shortened versions of dungeons which get more and more difficult as you get into the higher levels of them); you can also buy them with currency you earn in PvP. You can buy ascended trinkets, back items, amulets, and rings with Laurels or Guild Commendations; you can also get some by doing certain achievements.

I wouldn’t be against this idea. However, I think it’d be better (and cheaper, since Anet wouldn’t have to put man hours into it) to just have two-step verification and a good password.
I can’t wear my husbands jeans because he’s a lot taller than I am, I’d be constantly tripping over them.
But some of my favourite jeans are a style called “boyfriend” which is basically mens straight-leg jeans in womens sizes. They even have pockets you can actually put things in! Like a whole phone or a wallet! (Or a bat or a small snake, if you’re me.)
You know, I avoided the “boyfriend jeans” because I just didn’t like the style. But they have pockets?!?!?! I’m going to have to buy some now. Pockets ftw!
Confirmed last year. Yay?
What girl hasn’t worn her boyfriend’s jeans at some point?
No girl I know, anyway. We prefer to wear our boyfriend/husband’s hoodies.
This would probably be better received in the Fractals, Dungeons, and Raids section.
Silly cosmetic items are a big part of the Guild Wars games, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Bunny and cat ears for all!
They weren’t in the game at launch, and this is a request to not have them again in the future.
A baseball cap was in the game at launch. And kitty ears were in GW1. More silly hats, please!
They’re silly, and therefore they shouldn’t be in the game.
They’re silly, and therefore they should always be in every game.

Is the Mini Undead Chicken cruel as well?
Well, the chicken doesn’t flop around and have that “gasp” animation; it happily clucks and pecks at the ground. Unless I’m thinking of a different mini undead chicken?
Try exiting the game completely, and then logging back in. Sometimes that can “fix” the display error.
Edit: Looks like this is a bug affecting several people. According to this thread, most of them just had to wait a few minutes for things to appear back to normal again. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Missing-Gems-5/first#post6533754
You can report them for “botting” in-game; that category of the reporting is used for reporting botters, as well as for general rule breaking not covered by other categories. But the better option would be to send an explanation of the exploit (along with any screenshots or video evidence you have) to exploits@arena.net
Wait does it still flop around if it’s underwater?
I’m pretty sure it just swims underwater.
It did make me feel a little sad and yucky to watch it flopping around on land. But it doesn’t bother me enough that I’d want to ask Anet to change it.
(edited by RoseofGilead.8907)
It CAN change the version of the map you were on before logging out to change servers, but there’s no guarantee that it WILL. I’ve had luck doing it after making my status Invisible and not repping any of my guilds, but it still won’t happen every time (especially if you’re trying to do this on a map that isn’t heavily populated most of the time).
(edited by RoseofGilead.8907)
This gets asked every few months, and there’s never an “official” response. However, it’s not likely to ever happen.
Came back in December after about a 15 month hiatus.
That’s actually pretty awesome, so if it says you know it, you know it.
If you come across recipes for 3 professions and you know 1 currently (maybe because you got it before the change), it will let you use it again to then populate the other 2 you don’t know, at which point it’ll show as “you know this recipe” for everyone?
Yes. If one character learns a recipe, then every character (including ones you may make in the future) will learn it. This includes recipes that your characters learned before the change went in (you just have to log into every character on your account to have their learned recipes be added to the account-wide recipes).
(edited by RoseofGilead.8907)
Last year, Anet made it so that recipes can be consumed by any character (regardless of whether they have ANY crafting leveled), unlocking it for every character on the account. So, if you unlock a recipe for a Carrion Intricate Gossamer Insignia on your Tailor, the recipe will unlock for your Armorsmith and Leatherworker (even if you don’t have an Armorsmith or Leatherworker, it’ll be unlocked when you make an Armorsmith or Leatherworker).
Folks, OP has already explained that due to Blue/Gray color blindness, a particular zoom level, and the color palette of Ember Bay they couldn’t see the waypoints. I.e. there was a misunderstanding thinking there were no waypoints!
Except NOW OP is complaining about having to use a waypoint to get there.
