I think SAB might be considered a “seasonal” event now, too.
The ghost cat does move around. I once found it just S of the stampeding centaur entryway, and once S down the road from the homestead- just E of the road. Both times it was under the rock overhangs.
The bloodstone-crazed cat, Lady Wisteria Whiskington, is only found in Cadacus’ manor. I’m pretty sure you have to defeat the boss before the doors will open to give you access to the cat.
You have to complete the first part of the boss fight to go up to those doors. So, you could do the first part of the fight, go find the cat, and then continue on to the second part of the boss fight (or leave).
I had no issue feeding the cat a Strawberry Ghost, but I was under the effects of the Omnomberry Ghost at the time.
Found my Ghostly Cat high up in the Grove Home Instance. =)
A bit off-topic: Is the other cat found only in the Episode 4 version of CM? (I’ve not progressed that far in the story, yet.)
I don’t know why a bloodstone-crazed cat would be in the old CM, if that’s what you mean. I don’t even remember if you go into that particular room, either, though. But yeah, it’s in the last instance of Episode 4.
I think Canach is one of Anet’s best creations, as far as characters go. He’s one of the few NPCs who has had a real character arc. We’ve seen him go from villain to remorseful prisoner to (now) a free Sylvari and hero. I can’t think of many others (if any) that have actually shown that much growth.
Plus, the fact that he’s given such deliciously snarky lines just endears him even more to me. That whole comment about Canach finding Caudecous’ “daddy” line disturbing made me die during the fight because I was laughing so hard.

In season 3, your progress is saved based on checkpoints, for some of them at least. If you disconnect during a boss for example, you’d re-enter just before the boss.
What? Really? I thought only specific instances with either challenge motes or whatever could let you skip right to the boss.
You should ask Faren for the info on the guy who built his mahogany furniture; after all, he’s rich, you know.
Last boss fight – utter kitten
That is all
Oh and the Jade bow is still there, so much for carnival sharpshooter
It was a carnival sharpshooter when I did it last night. Do keep in mind that they only replaced the Jade monster that spawns in the second (and final) boss fight. The one that spawns during the first boss fight (in the library) wasn’t replaced.
Solution in tags.
- corn
- charr
Not necessarily, I had different answers, which leads me to believe that the questions are randomized.
Same for me
I got Chicken; Centaur, they’re really primitive riddles, really
I think the answer varies between races. With humans, the answer is always Chicken and Centaur.
My human female got corn, charr each time I took her through.
Ok, I just ran through the final boss for the first time since tonight’s patch (third time doing the boss total), and it’s much more manageable now. It’s still tough enough to keep it interesting, but there is way more time to react to what’s happening. If you do slip up, you’ll still get knocked around a lot, but it’s nowhere near as punishing as it was before the fix.
The last boss fight is fine. Players just need to learn to stop looking at their keyboards while they play.
Well, they went in and changed the Jade Bow to a different npc, gave a bit more time for us to use the Dispel Magic skill, and reduced the frequency of his knockbacks after just one day of it being live. So, apparently, it was enough of an issue to them that they found it appropriate to tweak it.
Koda’s Blessing is not required. I have A Crack in the Ice Mastery without having it.
Anet manages the economy in the game they created. It’s not their job to manage the economy for your country (or in any other).
But it isn’t locked to solo players, that’s the thing. Its entirely possible to do it solo using the shortcut. I don’t understand why you are so against this shortcut. It was purposefully added so that you can do this solo. It takes 5 minutes tops to walk from the nearest WP, find the entrance to the shortcut, figure out the path, and come out near the PoI. This isn’t like you are breaking out of the map and need to find the exact pixel to stand on. Its really easy to do it solo
I was never against the “shortcut”; I just hadn’t tried it yet when I made that post earlier. After trying the back way to get there, I still stand by what I originally said. The route isn’t difficult at all until you reach the top. However, once you’re at the top, you still have to run past several champs, elites, and veterans to reach the POI. And you’ll most likely die trying to run out. But at least you won’t die trying to get remotely close to that area of the zone.

The stuff sold by the heart vendors feels spoilery, esp. a mini of a character I haven’t yet met in this episode.
Yeah. That mini you’re talking about was kind of a “wtf” moment and spoiled part of the story before the plot point was revealed.
@RoseofGilead what’s so wrong with using a backway in to get to that PoI? Its possible to get there alone, isn’t that good enough?
It just rubs me the wrong way when basic elements (such as POIs and other objectives for map completion) are locked to people who are playing solo. I felt the same way about hero point challenges with multiple champs in HoT zones, too. Now, secret things, like JPs and hidden achievements, are fine to be hidden, in my opinion. And map completion objectives that are only unlocked by doing meta events are more understandable for me, too. But, at least in my opinion, you shouldn’t be forced to use a teleport to friend, join up with a group, take a longer way that may or may not be easy to reach (I haven’t personally used the back way to the POI yet, so I don’t know how easy it is to find), etc. in order to just complete a map. That’s obviously just my opinion, though; not everyone feels that way.

As soon as I loaded into that room, I laughed out loud. It was such a nice touch. I also really enjoyed all of the references to the CM paths throughout that instance.
Generally speaking, I think this was a great patch, and I enjoy the new map. I also very much enjoyed the story. The dialogue in the final instance is pure gold, too.
My two complaints:
1. Gating POIs in the area of the map that’s meant to be for groups only (and isn’t even tied to a meta event or anything). That was kind of a crappy thing to do. I know there’s a “back way” we can use, but still.
2. The constant CCing from the final boss of the last instance.. It wouldn’t be that bad if the room were slightly bigger, but since it is such a small area, you’re basically just going to get tossed around like a rag doll at some point. Otherwise, though, I really enjoyed that whole final instance.

I definitely would NOT get tomes. You get tomes throughout the month from Daily Login rewards, as well as from other sources; plus, you get Writs of Experience for many dailies, which can be converted into more Tomes. I wouldn’t waste the Chest of Loyalty on that.
If you want to use the laurels to buy something specific from the Laurel Vendor, then I’d say laurels are a good option. There are ascended trinkets, materials, mini pets, a tonic, and old Living World reward skins/items that can all be bought with laurels.
The ascended materials are, indeed, used to make ascended gear. It wouldn’t hurt you at all to choose that option because you could either save the materials for when you feel like crafting, or you could just sell the material right away for some fast gold. I, personally, choose ascended materials every time, but that’s because I really have no use for the laurels anymore (I’ve bought everything I want or need, and I have about 200 of the laurels just sitting in my wallet).
No.
Was it that hard to say this earlier? You’ve really wasted so much of peoples time and energy by not saying this earlier.
They didn’t say it earlier because they were trying to get it working for us, putting their own time and energy into trying to make the customers happy and keep their promise. Once they realized it wasn’t going to happen, they told us. I’m pretty sure everyone will be fine.
Thanks for the update on it, and thank you for all the hard work you guys have been doing today (and will continue to do) to try to get everything going.
You guys hit the nail on the head: A power failure has a reverberating effect on things. It takes some time to power everything up after a outage, and the time lost in inaccessibility to the servers and the build can roll out to cause delays longer than the simple period of the outage. By that, I mean, if the power goes out for 10 minutes, recovery takes longer than that 10 minutes.
The team is continuing to work on this and thanks for your patience. (And your chocolate
)
but what’s the specific status?
“The team is continuing to work on this” is the specific status.
With all the people disappointed that the update isn’t being released at the beginning of the time window kind of explains, and reinforces, why Anet probably doesn’t give specific release times.
Yup. This.
They have to get in the office, get their coffee and donuts, get the hamsters up and running and turn that meownstrosity they showed us loose….
I’m both excited and terrified to find out what that thing is and make it my Precious Fluffykins.
Yay! Glad it worked for you.
1. Yes and no. Once your new account can send/receive mail, you can send said new account gold/items from the old account. However, it’s a 7 day wait, not 4 (if I recall correctly). Edit: There is also a cap on how much gold/how many items new accounts can receive via mail, but it goes up as you play more.
2. Yes, you can buy your new account items with gems on your first account. However, any Account Boost things (character slots, bag slots, bank tabs, etc.) cannot be gifted to other account. But you can gift the new account outfits, armor skins, weapon skins, dye kits, keys, etc.

If they’re not using a third party program to keep them from being logged out, then they’re not botting. However, there are rules about AFK farming. So, if someone appears to be AFK farming, you can report them for Botting; Anet will investigate it and decide if what they’re doing is allowed or not.
I can show you many articles by computer gaming mags which say that Anet ‘is forgiving’ on those reports.
In game reporting is broken, very, very, very, broken and usually ignored, rarely flagged.
Apparently you aren’t reading industry standard stories on how broken some of GW2 really is.
I’m not saying that Anet has a perfect track record on these things (after all, human beings make mistakes all the time). However, since neither you nor I actually have direct experience with how Anet handles in-game reports, I’m reluctant to take “many articles by computer gaming mags” as accurate evidence of lax standards.
Yup. My lovely necro often uses this skirt because of the sort-of-bare leg look that can be done. I love it.
What skin color and dye are you using?
The skin color is Light 3, and the dye is Citrus Ice.

As far as I know, you can just buy the game (using your own info), and then forward the mail with the serial code and info to your friend’s email address. From there, she can make her own account with her info (ie. her own email address, screen name, account name, etc.).

This is just my personal reasons for not doing sPvP and rarely doing WvW:
I don’t like fighting other players. That’s it, really. I’ve never cared for PvP in any game I’ve played; it’s not fun for me, so I don’t do it. So, since sPvP is all fighting against other players, it’s not really my sort of thing. Thus, I avoid it.
Now, I’ve done a fair amount of WvW. I enjoy the PvE aspects of it (killing npcs to take objectives), but, as with sPvP, I do not enjoy fighting other players. If someone comes along and is obviously trying to attack me or someone in my group, then I’ll fight back. But that whole part of it still tends to not be very fun for me. So, I tend to avoid WvW, unless I’m just in a mood to do it or need something from that part of the game.
Noob question: is there a way to control what henchmen do?
Is there any official forums forums for GW? I feel uncomfortable asking questions here. :P
No, you can’t control what your henchmen do. The only thing you can do control-wise is use Hero Flags to tell them where to stand; if you mark a spot on the terrain or mini-map with a Hero Flag, they will stay on that spot until you remove the Flag.
Now, Heroes have skill bars that you can customize based on the skills you have unlocked on your account. You can also tell Heroes to be Passive (not attack), as well.

And back to the stacking, even though it’s not a loot bag; The Level Boosters from Year 1 and 2 gifts, please make them stack.. Please! They look the same, they have the same name, they do the same thing.. Again the only difference is their source (First- or Second Year gifts).
As I recall, you can make them stack by putting them all in one character’s inventory, and zoning. After that, they stack.
As I recall…
I’m pretty sure the Year 1 and Year 2 scrolls just don’t stack, unless something has changed since I last checked.
I don’t know what NA means.
EU = Europe; NA = North America.
It won’t let me get the first chapter, however it will allow me to purchase via cc the last chapter. can I start from there?
That’s Living World Season 3 you’re trying to start. You need to click on the tab for the Heart of Thorns story stuff.
You may already have it, but it should be noted that you have to own Eye of the North to get access to the HoM and all that.
You can use the items themselves on your character(s) armor if you want, but you can also get endless free copies of those skins from your Hero Panel. So, no, there isn’t really any need to keep them.
I had the same problem. No matter what I did (play through the entire episode, restart the episode and only do that instance, go solo, go in a party, etc.), the interact option never appeared for me. Finally, it just worked. I didn’t do anything differently (that I know of); it just suddenly worked. It was weird.
So, you started another thread on the very same subject?
No, I have created a thread with my suggestion/ideas on a simple implementation which wouldn’t take a lot; if i go posting this in my previous thread I’ll get slapped with – you’ve resurrected an old thread offence (as far as my previous experience goes, I think this is a thing); this thread is a different topic – implementation ideas
The thread necro “offense” is for posts that have been dead for months-to-years. Your other thread is only 2 weeks old, so it’d be fine to just post in that one.
Also, you three who replied me might be newcomers to this game.
If you have been so long as me ever since BETA, then you know what I am talking about.
I’ve also been playing since beta. The game isn’t dead, and trying to claim otherwise (or to claim that Anet “doesn’t care” about said game) is, indeed, just lying
GW2 is a dead game, what’s the point if Anet dont care about their game?
There is nothing we can do about it when the devs has given up.
I’m done with this kitten game.
You being bored with the game does not mean the game is dead or that Anet doesn’t care about their game. Many of us have problems with various aspects of the game, but straight up lying doesn’t help anything.
Mine is still there.
What does the title have to do with the content of your original post?
Armor
Armour.
The difference seems to be where you go. If the item sends you to an instance or a map that’s outside regular PvE maps or constructed differently than the normal PvE maps (guild halls, home instances, WvW/PvP) then when you leave that map you’ll return to your spot in PvE. If it takes you from a spot in PvE to another spot in PvE (Royal Terrace, Airship Pass) then you won’t return to where you were.
Essentially the Royal Terrace pass acts as a waypoint. To return you need to waypoint back.
Yup, this. Since the special areas like the Royal Terrace aren’t instances and are instead just blocked off parts of the main map they sit in (DR for the Royal Terrace, Gendarran Fiels for the Airship Pass, etc.), they won’t drop you back at your former location.
What does the title have to do with the content of your original post?
Are you both playing on the same region (EU or NA)? If you’re playing on different regions, you won’t be able to play together.
HoT is all level 80 content.
